Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | Brother El | Lional Freeman | As a musician, artist and producer bound by a necessity and love for the art, Brother El blends music from true creative aspects with an esoteric intensity. His compositions can only be described as an eclectic mix of electronica, hip hop and ambient styles layered upon an urban landscape. Along with founding the "The Hip Hop Project" at Loyola University Chicago's radio station WLUW 88.7 FM, Brother El has cultivated musical collaborations with various artists including Chicago rap group Earatik Statik. In addition, Brother El shared his journey through chaos with the release of the solo album “Through the Cracks of Concrete”. His award winning album threads the inspirations and voices of African diaspora, past and present while showcasing his individual technique capturing the sighs of Chicago's elevated trains and pavement pounds despite the cracks. A native of Chicago, Brother El is CEO of The Beat Bank, an independent record label and production studio focusing on artist development and quality productions over quantity and trend. |

Search | Add | 5 | Banda Show Sinfonica Sunicancha Huarochiri | Peruvian brass band founded in 1957 which was led by saxophonist Anatolio Pomalia Chuquihuaringa. Over the years the name of the band changed from Banda Sinfonica De Sunicancha to different variations, such as Banda Show Sinfonica Sunicancha Huarochiri. Eventually it became known as "Banda Papá", because multiple other bands sprung from its original lineups. The group originated in the small settlement of Sunicancha, which has just over 800 inhabitants, but more than 9 different brass bands. The group's style is considered a fusion of the style of the Yauya district and the typical saxophone led arrangements of the Mantaro Valley.

Search | Add | 5 | Soberanía Personal | Hardcore punk band from Buenos Aires, Argentina Soberanía Personal ("Personal Sovereignty") got not only their name from a line in a classic La Polla Records song but also continued the musical direction of the Spanish band, as it can be seen in their own compositions and in the two covers of their mentors' tunes which appeared in their only release. The band formed in Buenos Aires in 1987 from the ashes of less known punk bands such as Licor de Semen with the line up of Johanna (vocals), Jóse Luis (guitar), Oscar (bass) and Mariano (drums). In 1988 they released the Benditos sean muñecos que pegan cassette in a limited edition of 200 copies but seemed to split up and disappear soon afterwards.

Search | Add | 5 | Ben Strik | Ben Strik (1924), or Father Ben Strik, was known in Dutch as "De Zingende Pater" ("The Singing Father"). In the 70s he started with church services in Beverwijk in the North of Holland and eventually he went all over The Netherlands with it under the name "Die Aaghten Cantorij". The money made from donations and the release of records went to the "Brasil op Weg" foundation that funded projects for water wells, to volunteers that went to help in areas with leprosy and to agricultural co-operations in Brazil. More choirs joined Strik's initiatives to support these projects. He worked with choirs in Dutch villages and cities like Wognum, Utrecht and Tilburg. In his sermons he was always very straight forward against injustice and poverty in the world. Against all rules, Ben Strik was married to Vera Strik, and Strik was always firmly against celibacy. In a newspaper interview, Strik once said, quote: "The church looks at a married priest as a male prostitute". He died on Wednesday, the 12th of March 2014 at the age of 91.

Rainforth spearheaded the reformation of Maximum Joy in 2015 with a show at Simple Things Bristol, and from that grew MXMJoY – and now with a new line-up and all new material, MXMJoY have crafted an album that remains faithful to their roots but showcases an expanded experimental direction into dark electronics and expertly used samples and effects. |

In 1994, it released an album called "We Came to Make Joy", which was a great success mainly due to the song "Zingerla", the Hebrew words of which were written by Sharit Barness based on a gypsy tune by Burda Novkovic. "Zingerla" became a big hit in Israel and following the The Psagot Band it was recorded by other artists including Enrico Macias, who recorded it in French for his performances in Israel that year... Miri Mor, the band's singer, is a native of Eilat, who was first discovered in Shalom Hanoch's "White Wedding" show where she appeared as one of the backing singers.

Search | Add | 5 | Romanças | Romanças were one of the most important groups in the Portuguese Folk movement, alongside others such as Vai de Roda or Brigada Victor Jara. The group was formed in 1986 and consisted of Pedro D'Orey (Guitar), Fernando Pereira (Braguesa and Voice), José Barros (Cavaquinho, Braguesa, Mandolin and Voice) and João Ramos (Violin and Flute), all musicians with extensive experience in other projects related to traditional music and beyond. In 1988 they publish their first album entitled "Romanças", which has the most known theme "Salsa Verde". This work already denotes, in the group, an attempt to escape a certain conventionalism installed in other groups of the kind. It is not a group that limits itself to recreating traditional music, but advances to its own compositions; although influenced by traditional music (but also with the assumption of several European Folk influences, mainly Irish). In 1991 they released their second long-term work entitled "Monte da Lua". On this record, the Romanças' effort to leave the corset to which some groups in this area are subject is already more visible. In "Monte da Lua" there are themes like "Salsaparilha", "Trigueirinha", "Monte da Lua", "Xula" and several traditional ones like "Homem Rico", "Saias de S.João" and "D.Varão". The band does several shows in Portugal and even tours in France and Ireland, playing with some of the great names in the European Folk scene, although their elements never really became professional in music, with the exception of Barros. Due to internal differences, José Barros leaves the band and goes to one of the formations of the Ronda dos Quatro Caminhos, at the same time that João Ramos starts to accompany the Quadrilha in live shows, a band of which he will later be a full member. Almost reported as extinct, Romanças will release a third album entitled "Azuldesejo" in which José Salgueiro (ex-Trovante), Fernando Molina, João Luís Lobo and José Carias collaborate.

Search | Add | 5 | The Fabulous Georgia Soul Twisters | The Georgia Soul Twisters started out in the early '60s and were originally based out of Lyons, GA. They were led by Mose Braziel, nicknamed “Pop” who was the owner and manager. A 10 member touring band, they travelled and played all of the southern states. Pop passed away in 1969 and the band recorded their third and final recording at a small central Florida recording studio some time in the very early '70s. 'Look Out (I'm Gonna Blow Your Mind)' b/w 'Mother Duck' was self-financed and self-released, and poor distribution means the record remains extremely elusive to this day. They continued to play into the late '70s but as members would drop out, get married and replacements became harder to recruit, they finally decided to part ways once and for all.

Search | Add | 5 | Jason Staal | Jason was one of three vocalists en songwriters from the group Asman, founded in Assen, The Netherlands as a schoolproject in 1999/2000. By 2008 the remaining trio continued to perform Dutch songs in the vein of Acda & De Munnick and Veltdhuis & Kemper. Their distinctive sound, three voices harmonizing, was already apparent on their debut album, 'Mijn Wereld', released 2006. In 2008 they released their second album, 'Eerst Is Nu Wel Klaar' as a full blown six piece rockband. The album was an improvement to it's predecessor in sound and songwriting qualities. Their third and last studio album 'Bijna Voor Elkaar' (2012) was another improvement but it turned out to be their last full album of new work. The follow-up was an acoustic live version of 'Bijna Voor Elkaar', recorded in an intimate setting for a small selected audience. The set was also filmed and released on DVD. With no recording contract and a breaktrough elusive the group called it a day in 2015, playing a farewell gig on September 12, 2015 in 'De Nieuwe Kolk' in Assen. After the break-up of Asman Jason embarked on a solo career beginning with the album 'Daggedachten' which got quite some airplay on the Dutch national radio. The folllow up album was called 'Nachtgedachten' and continues in the vain of his debut album. In 2019 he was invited to record a live version of 'Nachtgedachten' in front of an audience in Nijend in the Dutch village of Anderen. After a relatively quite period of time Jason released his album 'Tussen Twijfel En Tijd' which shows Jason matured as a songwriter as well as a musician. The album has songs in various moods and styles, but are all recorded with a full blown and competent backing group.
