Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 5 Aldo Finzi Aldo Finzi was a italian composer, born in Milan on February 4, 1897. Because of his Jewish origin he and his family lived the growing anti semitism in Italy: from an annulled prize to his opera in 1937's La Scala Competition, to the effect of the anti-jewish laws introduced by the Mussolini's fascist government in 1938 ("Leggi Razziali", Racial Laws). During the Nazi occupation that followed, Finzi went into hiding, working anonymously, or under alias name, succeding to escape mass deportations in hair-raising ways. Search Add 5 Fabrizio Cacciamali Fabrizio is an experimental electronic sound artist based in Milano, Italy. He has spent half his life focusing his attention on the whole spectrum of electronic music, through the finest labels and the most exquisite artists, and ranging widely from IDM to field recordings. A true sound fetishist, his output is now based on the idea of representing abstract and complex sonic structures and textures. He uses an unending array of sources, including layerying of clicks and drones, dense tones sculptures, glitch-inspired rhythms, simple and melancholic melodies, intricate found sound-patterns and ultra-detailed textures to create a strange world of lush atmospheres and synaptic panoramas that is entirely his own. Continuing to explore and experiment like a sonic visionary, he has developed his own visceral way to craft these captivating and introspective abstractions. This is a brain focused 24/7 on the audial aspects of life.

Search Add 5 Thorn Apple Thorn Apple is a group of musicians who get together to create down-tempo / trip-hop / ambient music with personal and emotional lyrics. The project started in the winter of 2000. The result was stirring the embers - a collection of covers originally by Eurythmics, Gary Numan, Foo Fighters, Roxy Music, The The, Cyndi Lauper and more. 2001 yielded an ambitious collaboration with more than a dozen artists. Crystalline combined the talents of Axoe, Bloodwire, Dia, Fonta Hadley, Halou, Peter Harrison, Hungry Lucy, and Andrew Lindsay into a cohesive and extremely moving collection. 2002 was the most abitious project yet: gradient is a 2 volume adventure through many seemingly diverse and contradictory styles, but somehow, it all works! The artists who participated in the previous years were accompanied by Astral, Charlotte Brewster, Brad Clark, Chris Gill, Shannon Moe, Trigger10d, Shannon Whitley, ZnF, and a chihuahua named DoeDoe.

Search Add 5 JP Maurice Jean-Paul Maurice “Big change is coming” is JP Maurice’s anthemic promise to anyone who has seen their share of adversity. The seasoned Vancouver based musician, songwriter and producer knows the highs of his craft, but it’s in the lows where he finds his fire – taking the fuel of failed record deals, broken hearts, and the loss of loved ones and forging the pain into something beautifully optimistic. After touring Canada, Europe, and then taking home 2nd place in the PEAK Performance Project radio contest in 2015, a loss in the family turned Maurice mostly inwards, where he focused on channeling his emotions into his art. Investing in a world-class studio in Vancouver has allowed for late night collaborations, producing other artists, and creating endless song ideas. A direct result was the Girls EP, released in January 2017, which sweeps from cinematic pop-noir into slinky neo-soul, all tied together with Maurice’s powerfully emotive vocals. It’s a modern sound that captures timeless sentiments – love, loss, and the twists and turns in between. 2018 Kicked off with Maurice’s national TV debut as a featured artist on CTV’s The Launch, where he performed “Shapeshifter” live in front of industry big-wigs and over 1 million Canadian viewers. The follow up to the Girls EP was the aptly titled Boys LP, released in the spring of 2018. Picking up where the Girls EP left off, Boys has a more optimistic tone and evolves into a new sound for Maurice with flecks of alt country and roots rock embedded in the album. Since then, Maurice has immersed himself in working on his forthcoming album Pressure Makes Diamonds; set to be his most personal endeavor to date by taking on co-production duties alongside music industry veteran Ted Gowans (The Rentals, Tegan and Sara, Kehsa). The album is slotted to be released in 2020 and will coincide with Maurice’s plans to embark on a European tour.

A couple of singles were released, in this one that I bring you now in Un Toc de Rock d'Avui, the record company decided to use only one song to promote the album and brought this “Amor petit” sung in Catalan on the A side for Catalonia and sung in Spanish for the rest of Spain, titled “Pequeño amor”, reversing the faces, depending on the place. That's what it is to know how to save. Francesc Roca even released another single, in this case with two songs in Catalan, and I have to say that I lost track of Francesc Roca many years ago and I have never heard anything else about him. [La Parisienne Life]

Search Add 5 Stoneshoes Nigel Rhys Watson Blending the soul of indie rock and folk with the pulse of dub, the swirl of psychedelia, and the warmth of acoustic textures, I create music that’s as much about feeling as it is about sound. Each track is an exploration—looking into the past, learning for the future, and capturing the raw emotion that lives in between. In a world of AI-produced music, I make mine as live and human as possible. If it can’t be played unplugged, it doesn’t belong in my world. Guitars, harmonicas, and live drums drift through layered compositions that feel intimate yet expansive, earthbound yet cosmic. Influenced by the spirit of Pink Floyd, the ambient journeys of The Orb, and the modern groove of Jungle, Stoneshoes invites you into a genre-blurring experience where sound becomes space, and emotion becomes a journey. First Light is a genre-blurring odyssey through transformation, resistance, inner peace, and deep gratitude. Stoneshoes weaves together rock, folk, reggae, and psychedelia into a rich, immersive sound—where acoustic warmth meets electric grit, and melody gives way to atmosphere. From the slow-burning rise of “Wildfire” to the meditative pulse of “Dawn Patrol”, and the urgent call of “Now Is the Time”, this debut invites listeners into a space of reflection and renewal. Layered with lush guitars—plucked, strummed, echoed, and distorted—each track unfolds like a chapter in a dream rooted in reality. First Light is both a personal offering and a universal message: a reminder to breathe, to feel, and to move forward with love. Roundhouse Records is home to original productions and remixes from my adventures as Stoneshoes, Chickenskin, and Curry Goat Sound.
