Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 8 Osmi Putnik Dva Osmi Putnik Dva (Serbian translation for the cult horror classic Aliens; Also there is rumour going that they’ve called themselves this way to make fun of the hard rock Croatian band Osmi Putnik) are also known under these aliases 8pII, Osmi Putnik 2, Osmi putnik drugi deo, 8P2, Osmi Putnik II. Band was founded in 1998 in Belgrade, Serbia, and very soon they have gained the reputation of one of the fastest bands on the hardcore/metal scene. 2000 saw the band release it’s first album titled Kerber je mama (this time they made fun of famous Serbian hard rock band Kerber in the title of the album. “Kerber Is Awesome”) Since then they have released 4 more albums (Drugi Album in 2002, 8PII in 2003, KRVAVI PIR in 2005 and last one Treća Sofra was released in 2007.) They are well known for their speedy thrashing riffs and almost too loud to bear music onslaught all packed just in a few minutes in all of their songs, their lyrical themes are always about the horror movies and the creatures from them and also about black humour. Almost all of their shows are always full of rowdy headbanging and moshing maniacal fans. Osmi Putnik Dva shared stages with Napalm Death, FullsizE, Hitman, Šaht and many more domestic and foreign bands. 2008 saw the band mark their 10th year anniversary by playing 3 hour sets of their complete discography with small pauses in between them.

Search Add 8 George Peter Kinyonga Tanzanian song-writer, singer and guitarist. Most famous as co-founder of [a1379606] with his brother [a2706972]. Born in Tanga, Tanzania in 1950 ( the exact date is unknown but George usually stated February 22nd). He and his brother joined [a1969311] in Tanga in 1966. In 1970/1971 the brothers moved to Arusha, Tanzania, and formed [a4223221] (with their brother [a6986145] and others). Late in 1971 the band relocated to Kenya and changed their name to [a1379606]. He stayed with the group when most of the members left to form [a3599429] but then in 1980, disagreements with his brother led to George leaving and starting his own band [a2672920] (named after a 1970s dance rhythm). The split proved short-lived and George rejoined [a1379606] within a year. George did, however, keep the "Orchestre Jobiso" name to record his own songs outside of the main group. He died of tuberculosis on December 24th 1992 in Nairobi, Kenya, aged 42.

His family included brother Morris Loewenstern and sister Julia Loewenstern Glick. They moved to Amarillo, Texas in 1929. Hugo was given his first saxophone at the age of six. A child prodigy on sax and clarinet, he won first honors in national competitions and at age 9 was featured in Ripley’s Believe It Or Not for memorizing 76 classical compositions. An Amarillo High School graduate, he trained at the Eastman School of Music. Hugo toured extensively with the famous big bands of Jack Teagarden, Harry James, Tommy Dorsey and Sonny Burke appearing as a soloist, on the Burke Orchestra’s recording of Ella Fitzgerald 1951. In between gigs, he returned to Amarillo to lead his own band at the Nat, the Avalon, and the Aviatrix. He married Mary Lou Parr in 1951. Years before as a teenager, she’d danced to the music of the bandleader on stage who would later become her future husband of sixty-five years. Eventually settling in Amarillo, Hugo joined his father and brother in the family business, Hugo H Loewenstern Real Estate Co. In 1943, Hugo joined the armed services and was in the Air Force Band, then later transferred to the Infantry until his discharge in 1946. He volunteered his band to the community, including the Lake Tanglewood (Amarillo, Texas) 4th of July celebrations, and nursing homes with singer wife Mary Lou. His professional career saw a solo album for Capitol Records, Who Said Good Music Is Dead, with the late composer Johnny Richards, who wrote original pieces for Hugo including The Magic of Arabis, which he performed as guest artist with the Amarillo Symphony in 1966. He continued musical associations with trumpeter, Doc Severinsen, Laurindo Almeida and others. Amarillo saw performances with friends and family in a newly formed jazz group. He was a founding member of the Amarillo Woodwind Quintet. The recording Music for Art, features songs by daughter, Tara Hugo and album sleeve artwork by Mary Lou. In 2001, KACV public television (Amarillo, Texas) produced the documentary "That Alto Man" celebrating his life and career.

Search Add 8 Street Barrel Organ A barrel organ (also called roller organ or crank organ) is a mechanical musical instrument consisting of bellows and one or more ranks of pipes housed in a case, usually of wood, and often highly decorated. The basic principle is the same as a traditional pipe organ, but rather than being played by an organist, the barrel organ is activated either by a person turning a crank, or by clockwork driven by weights or springs. The pieces of music are encoded onto wooden barrels (or cylinders), which are analogous to the keyboard of the traditional pipe organ. A person (or in some cases, a trained animal) which plays a barrel organ is known as an organ grinder. These organs were sometimes called Street Barrel Organs due to their portability and were often heard in various locations. Please use this artist for records which simply credit "Street Barrel Organ" as the artist

Search Add 7 William S. Walker William Stearns Walker Composer-arranger William "Bill" Stearns Walker (b. 1917 in River Forest, Illinois, USA d. March 27, 1994 in River Forest, Illinois, USA) wrote the music and produced the soundtrack for thousands of radio and television jingles and commercials. Among the products his music promoted were A&W root beer, Wrigley chewing gum, Green Giant vegetables, Sunbeam appliances and Chevrolet cars. Mr. Walker graduated from Oak Park-River Forest High School and Amherst College. He served in the Pacific during World War II. While studying at the Chicago Conservatory of Music from 1945 to 1948, he was a pianist-arranger for the [a=Wayne King] and [a=Ted Weems] Orchestras. He was staff pianist for WGN from 1950 to 1954 and later played with his own band at the Ambassador East's Pump Room. Walker has written the words and music for over fifty published pop and country songs, some of which have been recorded by [a=Peggy Lee], [a=Johnny Desmond], [a=Gordon MacRae], [a=Dean Martin] and [a=Homer And Jethro]. He founded Bill Walker Musical Productions in 1953. In 1953, he started his own company. Bill Walker Musical Productions, Inc. He composed and/or arranged the music, and, in some cases, the lyrics, for over 1,000 soundtracks for radio and television commercials, industrial, documentary and feature films. The commercials have been for Chevrolet, Plymouth, Dodge, Mercury, Oldsmobile, and Ford of Canada as well as many well-known products in fields such as cosmetics, beers, cigarettes, airlines, and household goods. Walker wrote the music for 12 national award-winning commercials and films and won the Grand Prix de la Television in Venice, Italy for the best spot in thf world for that year. The product was Chevrolet. He composed, arranged and produced all the music for the award-winning [l=Bergstrom Paper] Company album, [r=2390117], in which he converted the rhythms of printing presses to music. The album is now a collector's item. Walker composed, arranged and produced all the music for the feature film, Little Laura and Big John, starring [a=Karen Black] and [a=Fabian Forte]. Walker also composed a musical setting for "The Gettysburg Address" and a symphonic fantasy, "Return to Shenandoah," both of which were recorded by baritone [a=Sherrill Milnes]. In the mid-1950s, Mr. Walker purchased and moved into one of the most famous and beautiful of the Frank Lloyd Wright homes, the 1893 Winslow House in River Forest. There have only been five owners in its 120 year-old history. A note signed by Wright is in the Walker family library, simply stating to Bill Walker, "Take good care of it." Peter Walker, who is handling the estate for his family said his mother kept the home in pristine condition up until her death earlier this year, and preserving its history and character has been a great source of pride for his family. Peter Walker, Bill Walker's son, was quoted as saying, “My father loved Frank Lloyd Wright and wanted to own one of his houses. My mother June, a war bride from Australia, took meticulous care of the house.” June S. Walker, Bill's wife, died on April 12, 2013.

He is both a musician, graphic and 3D artist with numerous works under his belt, mostly pertaining to what he's currently working on. Harlow has put out five albums under various names as well as seven EP's over the course of his career since 2017. Leuchtend started after the disbandment of Echelon Anthracite, feeling that it was time to move on and push out what Harlow felt was a "completed work" he considered most of Echelon to be no more than unfinished songs and demos compiled into albums and used it as a framework for his first album Golden Hours. The LP featured numerous songs and ideas spanning the course of his career as both a solo artist and a bandmate in Nomad. Later on that year he would release his first physical pressing and maxi-single titled Socotra, which was a very different style from his previous endeavor and would precede his second release, slated for the next year.

Search Add 7 Sebastian Essene Sebastian Essene, a Nottingham-based music producer and experimental DJ, creates spiritually oriented electronic music deeply rooted in esoteric, mystical, and occult traditions. His work draws inspiration from the worlds of surrealism, transcendental philosophy, and metaphysical exploration, resulting in a unique blend of sound and spirit. His compositions, often ambient and experimental, reflect an eclectic approach to sound, weaving together spiritual exploration with avant-garde musical structures. Sebastian’s DJing focuses on creating the atmosphere of a sacred, ethereal space—evoking the void, a sense of depth, longing, and nostalgia for the ineffable. His music conjures immersive soundscapes that blend the mystical with the modern, guiding his audience through a ritualistic experience of sound and spirit.

Search Add 7 Stanley Stepanic Stanley Stepanic is a professor from the University of Virginia who was classically trained in piano from a young age. While in high school, he worked with Joshua Kosker (eventually a guitarist for The Juliana Theory) in a noise rock band called War that released two cassettes and disbanded when the two separated during college. As an undergraduate, with local friends in Latrobe and Derry PA, he formed a satirical death metal band called Peppermint Kids that released two albums and toured the PA metal circuit with bands like AxCx. Later, as a graduate student, he went on to form the satirical noise rock band Comparative Anatomy with friend Addison Dodds from 2009 until 2011. From this band he went on to perform vocals until 2016 for the doom/sludge band Beldam, writing the lyrics and singing on their first album, which was recorded in 2015. He left the band in 2016. Stepanic was also the former owner of the now-defunct label Mind Flare Media, which was later merged with another business, Deaf Sparrow. He is currently the owner and editor of Deaf Sparrow, an underground magazine and limited-release label located in Charlottesville, Virginia.
