Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

He was attracted to country music by recordings he heard as a child, first by the Carter Family and then in the late 30s, the recordings of Roy Acuff. He was particularly drawn to the sound of the dobro on Acuff’s recordings and was totally impressed by the playing of Pete Kirby. During service in the US Navy during World War II, Kimbrough met Kirby and bought one of his old dobro guitars. He recalled years later that ‘By the time I got it, it was the most beat up dobro you ever saw but it still had the sound and I was the happiest person in the world’. After the war, Kimbrough returned to the farm and although he never became a full time musician, he played and sang with various groups. A good-natured man who laughed at his handicaps, Withers was the long-standing compère at West London’s Nashville Room and won several awards as the Top UK country singer, his show-stoppers being ‘These Hands’ and a narration about a Red Indian’s difficulties in coming to terms with society, ‘The Ballad Of Ira Hayes’. Tex Withers Sings Country Style sold 135, 000 copies, while his 1973 album, The Grand Ole Opry’s Newest Star was recorded mainly in Nashville, Tennessee. He was championed by Hank Snow, but his professional career was cut short by throat illness. Withers became bankrupt and his illiteracy made work difficult. His last years were spent as a cleaner at Gatwick Airport and Haywards Heath railway station. He found his happy hunting ground on 29 December 1986, probably aged 53, and merited an obituary in The Times. | |

Matija Arko ([a2399990]) and his two half-brothers, [a6964152] and [a8404452], formed an instrumental trio. Frank played banjo (an instrument used by jazz bands) and Ed played chromatic accordion and guitar. Arko used his Slovenian house-name Hojer; the Simončič brothers Anglicized their name to Simms. Calling themselves the [a6964156], they became very popular as they travelled throughout the Midwest playing polka music. They were affiliated with [a8405151] and were recommended to the [l61808] label by him. Their first recordings were made acoustically at the November 1924 session in Cleveland. In all, they released 100 selections. By 1930, the musician’s union was beginning to show its influence in the recording industry. Unwilling to join, Hoyer made no more recordings. He had small parts in several motion pictures, usually portraying a boxer or gangster. | |

Prior to the release of the album, Shannon Two Feathers' songs and vocal stylings were heard through a series of single releases, with his debut disc coming in 1972 on the Kanata label with the songs "The Only Way To Keep It" b/w "And She Travels" (KAN-1014). A follow-up came in 1973 on the IMI label with the single "Separation Blue" b/w "The Prisoner". An obscure and highly collectable album on the IMI label entitled "Separation Blue" was also reportedly issued in 1973. "The Prisoner" song, written by Shannon Two Feathers, was such a popular radio hit that RCA Canada picked up the recording and re-issued it as a single (KPBO-0005) b/w "Sweet Gypsy Hair", and it became Shannon Two Feathers' only nationally charted single, peaking at #20 on the RPM Charts in 1973 Shannon Two Feathers' next release came in 1975 on the Maple Haze Records label with the tunes "One Step Outside" b/w "Smile" (MH-7505). The 1978 release of his "Dreams That Feed A Gypsy" album on the WSM label also brought several single releases with the title track tune b/w "Smile" (WSM 45-507) and the follow-up "Maria" b/w "Daddy Doesn't Live There Anymore". The album, featuring all original songs written by Shannon Two Feathers, was co-produced by Shannon Two Feathers with Wes Dakus at Edmonton's Sundown Studios and was critically acclaimed, but unfortunately not well promoted by the independent label and not aggressively supported by Canadian country radio. Aside from his own recordings, Shannon Two Feathers also had his songs recorded by fellow Aboriginal artist Don Stonechild, with his 1978 WSM single "Child Of Stone" b/w "New Orleans". In addition to his talents as a singer and songwriter Shannon Two Feathers also appeared in the National Film Board movie "The Red Dress", and he wrote songs and music for the 1988 movie "Poundmaker's Lounge - A Healing Place". Born in Kalulushi, Zambia, his early involvement in the music industry began in the early 1970s as a roadie for several prominent bands in the Copperbelt city of Kitwe, including the popular Zamrock group [a979286] (We Intend To Cause Havoc). In the late 1970's, Simukonda relocated to Luanshya, where he secured employment as an electrician in the mining sector. It was during this period that he co-founded the band "The Upstarts" alongside Lazzy Mwape and Kelvin Zimba and served as the group's lead guitarist and vocalist. While playing with the band, he met fellow musician/songwriter, [a4818929] who poached Simukonda to play with him in his band. Over the next few years, he spent some time overseas in the UK, returned to Zambia and played with a number of Zambian bands including briefly for WITCH. Simukonda eventually embarked on a successful solo career in the 1980s. He became a regular performer at several prominent Zambian venues and in 1985, gained national recognition by winning the "Golden Voice" competition at Moon City Nite Club in Lusaka. The victory led to an opportunity to travel to the United Kingdom to record his debut album, [r6897075]. His career spanned several decades and included the release of five studio albums and numerous singles. His final album, Bana Bandi, was recorded shortly before his passing in 1999. | |

| Search | Add | 12 | Michael Rougier | Born in England on June 16, 1925, Michael Rougier began his career as a photographer for the Montreal Standard newspaper. His big break came when he was assigned to photograph cattle being shipped to Argentina from Canada. While in Argentina, he made photos of the then-camera shy Eva Perón, eventually smuggling the pictures out of the country and back north. Those images ran in both the Standard and in LIFE, where he was hired as a staff photographer in November 1947, remaining with the magazine for more than two decades. (He eventually left at the end of 1971, a year before LIFE ceased publishing as a weekly.) During his 24 years with the magazine, Rougier displayed the sort of versatility for which so many of LIFE’s photographers were known. He covered the Korean War with his greatest work focusing on children orphaned by that conflict. He covered the Hungarian revolution of 1956, weddings in North Dakota, Boy Scouts, horse racing, drug-addled Japanese teens and countless other stories, in countless other locations. He exemplified the ideal of the staff photographer, for whom no assignment was too small (or too big). Early in his career at LIFE, he accepted a handful of assignments that illuminated his compassion for the powerless. The first was a story about a blind poodle named Midget. The story goes that he almost passed out in the operation room while Midget was being operated on to restore her sight. He also photographed a story in Texas in 1948 about a cat that got around via wheelchair. He even adopted a goat after covering a “goat round-up” in Virginia in 1950. The one story that most perfectly captures Rougier’s remarkable empathy for his subjects, however, involved a Korean orphan named Kang (see slide #4 in this gallery). In 1951, he was sent to southeast Asia to cover the Korean War (replacing his LIFE colleague, John Dominis). While there, Rougier came across the Taegu orphanage and met Kang, a boy who would eventually be introduced to the LIFE’s readers as “the boy who wouldn’t smile.” At one point, Rougier sent a remarkable open letter to his colleagues back at Time Inc. in New York asking—in fact, almost begging—for assistance to help Kang and the orphanage. (“You might be a helluva long way from war in a bar in New York but these kids can’t remember anything but war few of them remember anything of their life before their mothers, fathers, brothers and sisters were killed right before their eyes. Get the contacts of my first take and look at them look at Kang and then please send some stuff.”) The letter got results. The orphanage received money, books, vitamins, clothing. Kang did, eventually, smile and was adopted by an American family. From the first, Rougier was recognized as a stellar photojournalist by his peers, and won Magazine Photographer of the Year honors from the National Press Photographers Association in 1954. In 1964, meanwhile, on assignment in Antarctica, Rougier almost met his death when he was seriously injured after tumbling more than 600 feet down a mountainside while covering scientists who were working at the bottom of the world studying glaciers. Today, the peak is called “Rougier Hill,” in honor of the intrepid photographer who nearly died on its slopes. Michael Rougier, who was an accomplished sculptor in addition to being a masterful photojournalist, died in Canada on January 5, 2012. | |

TRASE originally started as a graffiti artist. After elementary school TRASE discovered his love for the manipulation of the English language. Growing up in the north of The Netherlands, he tried to hit every mic available. Back in 1995 he started rocking house parties and ciphers alongside his formerly partner in rhyme, Signha and DJ Dear. Together they formed "The Buckwild Tribe", a group which fell apart in the end of 1997. In a period of 4 years they recorded some demo tracks which were never officially released. TRASE took it to the next level when he decided to leave the group and by taking manners in his own hand. It was 1998. TRASE was on mission to pursue his own solo career. He was tired of the no progress type of phases he had been dwelling in during the last years. The match with IMPRO turned out to be promising; they released their first product in 2001. The debut EP “The Encounta” attained favorable reviews. In the period after TRASE has worked on a project with several local artists and started working on another solo release. Originally he was to release a fully length untitled LP, but after completing several tracks it was shelved for reasons that were not entirely clear. In 2003 TRASE took his time to focus on new songs and has spent a lot time recording and performing. The same year he released “The Essentials”, a compilation of several songs recorded between 2001 and 2004. In 2007 another album (“Fase Of Transition”) was released. The past decades he connected, collaborated and performed with artists from Sweden, Switzerland, Germany, Spain and The United States. In 2012 several albums were released; One EP followed by two albums. October 2013 saw the release of a new collaborative album with Sneek-based producer E.daBeatdetonator entitled "Back In Prime Form" on the Freshmess Music label. The first single was "Listen". Three years later another single from the album (“Wonder Years”), received an award for Best Hip Hop Song (January 2016) in America. In 2014 TRASE is back to the lab working on new material, because it’s about time for Hip Hop to resurface with true lyrics. With his latest release “The Travels of TRASE TRONIK”, which has been recorded between 2014 and 2017, TRASE continues his career as an solo artist. On this seventh studio album TRASE has worked with several national and international producers, which gives the overall outlook of the project a real diverse sound. Jeanette played Drums, Guitar, Mandolin, Accordion - Daniela Bass, Guitar, Drums, Mandolin and both sung. Before their first live appearance the line-up was expanded with Peter Wanke (Keyboards, Vocals) and Martina Schmidbauer (Guitar, Vocals). In 1987 they self-released their first eponymous Cassette and got into street performing until late Autumn as 'Sidekick Surprise'. Peter and Martina left the group in August 1988 so they continued recording as Duo until Martin Trapp (Keyboards, Accordion, Bass) joined in April '89. With him they won the 1989 'Berlin Rock News' competition and as price valuable studio time. After nearly 10 self released cassettes in 1991 their first full length collection 'Wrong Way, Right Picture' appeared on [l=Irre Tapes] and finally in 1993 a 7" EP. Jürgen Oeser - their 'best boy', caterer and sound man from the beginning got credited as honourable member. After a few more Cassette Only releases and concerts Unpleasant Surprise ceased activities after 1996. They called their music themselves "Surprise Pop" - too poppy for the avant-garde and too experimental for the contemporary pop scene. |

She became interested in music as a child and was influenced by Dorothy Juniper. Her favourite artists were Tex Morton, Shirley Thoms and June Holm. In 1940 she toured with the Gene Leroy 4QR Concert Party and became a regular artist on Gene’s live radio program, The Town Hall Midday Show. In 1942 she met Tex Morton in Cairns. In 1943 she moved to Brisbane and later to Toowoomba where her grandfather bought her her first guitar. from Cliff Tutin, which she later traded in on a Gibson. From 1945 she performed in and around Toowoomba billed as the Yodelling Cowgirl. In 1948 she joined her first travelling show with Lester’s Follies. After her marriage in 1949, her career took a back seat. In the early 1950s Zeta performed on stage with many top artists of the time – Dusty Rankin, Monty Fayne, Ron Peters and Joan Ridgeway. In 1952 she quit entertaining. She attended her first Tamworth County Music festival in 1972 and attended every year until 2000. In 1979 she began appearing at various country music club functions. In 1980 she recorded the EP and in 1981 recorded a single, which was to unveil the grave of June Holms. Later that year, appeared on an LP coupled with June Holm. She was a guest at many music festivals over the next couple of years and recorded an LP for Hadley 'Queensland's Yodelling Cowgirl' in 1984. In 1985 she started touring with partner Ian Hands and clocked up 1,100,000km in their 1976 model Holden Kingswood panel van. She released six records with Queensland Country Style label. In 2010 she appeared at the Gympie Muster and in 2015 was inducted into the Hands of Fame, Tamworth and wrote her autobiography, "My Early Years" (2015) She is still performing (2025). | |

Her first track, released under the pseudonym NyaNatty, was entitled 'One Love Style'.
