Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Ben Antell Band | Ben Antell Band - WATERS is a legendary prog-rock album with blistering electric guitars, starring some of the finest musicians in Vaasa in 1981, Mikko Rintanen, Sixten Sandvik, Henrik Berg, Heikki Koivisto and Ben Antell. Most of the album was performed live in the studio. The 8 songs were recorded during two intense days in the newly built RM-studio (Rexi) in Kokkola on a 2", 16-track tape recorder. Since the studio later burned down, no other format survived the flames except the 1/4" master! WATERS was originally released in December 1981, in Sweden, Finland, Canada and also quickly spilled over to the USA, it soon became somewhat of a cornerstone in the christian prog-rock genre.

Search | Add | 4 | Christs Nails | Christs Nails was a 2-man project, which came about in the late '80ies and from then on gathered at irregular times, producing dark and twisted musical experiments. Based primarily on classical piano (later substituted by keyboards) and vocals, the music has an eerie touch, which is strenghtened by the raw, hoarse, sometimes whispering voices. Throughout the years the bands line-up remained the same. In a way the band still exists, and will actually never cease to exist, even though there have been and will be no new releases after the third demo, dating from 1996. The whereabouts of the bandmembers have always been and remain a mystery. Their only intention ever was to express their innermost dark emotions through their music, and some of this has survived on the 3 demos recorded between 1992 and 1996. Much more was taped, but never released and ultimately destroyed by the band, as the music was never really intended for the public.

Search | Add | 4 | Hyenaz | Berlin electronic avant-gardists HYENAZ have evolved a cult status for their immersive live shows, for which they were dubbed a “performative monster duo” by electro superstar Peaches and one of the “Best Live Acts in Berlin” by Kaltblut magazine. They believe that all beings and matter are intrinsically connected, that we can choose utopia over dystopia, that time is an illusion.

Search | Add | 4 | Christian Lancry | Chris Lancry, guitar and harp player born in 1951 in Marseille France, started playing guitar at the age of 12. Playing Beatles and Stones songs with various bands, he discovered [a59792] in 1964 and started to play blues and American traditional folk music. In 1970, he went to Paris and started performing at the T.M.S and the American Center. In this famous place, he met [a647077], [a307635], [a1512442], [a1562142], [a663572], [a866971] and later, [a1264961] and [a375023]. [a322731] and [a1318727], two rock’n roll journalists and record producers, noticed him while he was playing on street corners. In 1971, he recorded his first album, in the vein of traditional blues: [r5119915] with other musicians like [a502367], [a1562142] and [a770740] ([a285789] road fellow), Chris played National steel guitar and harp. At the end of 1971, he left France for the United States hoping to see his idols, Big Joe Williams, John Hammond etc.… in Greenwich Village clubs. After returning to France, he started to perform in the budding club and festival circuit. His guitar style is based on both traditional playing and improvisation. After studying Lightnin’ Hopkins, Robert Johnson and different acoustic blues styles, he discovered «White music» by Doc Watson, Merle Travis and Jerry Reed. His playing is a mix of all these influences. Since the Sixties, he has been playing with a plastic thumbpick and two irons fingerpick (index and middle finger). He also plays «Strumming» and «Flat picking». In the best tradition of [a59792], [a692192] or [a1223373], he plays guitar and harp simultaneously (with a rack). In 1998, he was named Best Acoustic Blues Guitarist at the First Edition of the France Blues Awards. He plays at clubs and festivals, and he has released several albums. He also plays with the [a1260768] on their albums and in concerts, playing mainly acoustic slide guitar and harp.

Burnt Paw’s songs unwind from oral histories, dream-fragments, myths, imaginary adventures and life-stores. He loves self-made art, occasionally publishes poetry, reads a lot of Walt Whitman and buys too many second hand books on Neolithic history.

Search | Add | 4 | Cori Brewster | Cori Brewster was born and raised in Banff, the Rocky Mountain resort town in Alberta, where the Brewster family has resided for over 120 years. She began singing with her mom and sisters on Rocky Mountain trail rides. Like all young women do, Cori left home to experience life outside this small town, carrying with her that profound `sense of place’ wherever she went. Brewster entered Red Deer College to study Physical Education but after graduating from University of Alberta, with a Bachelor of Physical Education, the pull of music was tugging at her soul. Cori moved to Winnipeg to begin her journey, recording her first singles that began her foray into country music. Several of Cori’s singles achieved chart topping success. In 1994, Cori hit the ground running with the release of `One More Mountain’. With appearances at the Calgary Stampede, The Tommy Hunter Show, Merritt Country Festival,Whistler Roots Festival and many hours on the road, `One More Mountain’ was a hit. With a successful tour of Germany, an official showcase at SXSW and a nomination for female artist of the year by the Alberta Recording Industry recognition as a singer songwriter solidified. The response for her video’s, `Spin on a Red Brick Floor’ and `Good as Gone’ was great, both achieved high rotation on CMT and Country Beat. Cori’s commitment to the music industry was cemented. `Buffalo Street’ Cori’s 4th CD reflect her continuing commitment to the craft of songwriting and attention to detail that so effectively evokes a time, a sense of place, a character and of course a range of emotion. `Buffalo Street’ is a collection of beautiful stories inspired by the rich history of the Canadian Rockies and its people. Songs cover a diverse range of subjects and characters from the personal to the historical and from the genealogical to geographical. [excerpts from http://coribrewster.com/bio.pdf]

Search | Add | 4 | Oscar Burnside | Oskar Szafraniec | Oskar Szafraniec a.k.a. Oscar Burnside (born in Poland in 94') - is a musician, producer and live performer. Since the age of 10 experimenting with music and sound. Oskar's first remix was released on Italian label NuZone Tools when he was only 13. He released his own track on the same label called Dark Side in 2008 and many more tracks with Der Hut (Germany), Shufflemood (Argentina), Frequenza Records (Italy) and other labels around the globe. Since then he's been DJing in clubs and on the festivals, studying music genres, history and spending most of his time working in the studio. In 2010 he released his first and immediately controversial LP album - 'The Suicide' on Dirty Stuff Rec. and another ambient self-released 'Water under dream'. In 2011 he was chosen by the Kluboterapia Awards as one of the top 5 Polish Artists. When he was 17, he dropped out of school to move to Berlin. It was a turning point for Oskar, finding new inspiration, meeting new people, partying every weekend and working on music and touring with UK producer, A Guy Called Gerald. Since then he started to focus on performing his own music with 2 laptops and singing live. He visited many countries around the world, in 2013 he's been touring in Japan with A Guy Called Gerald and had several gigs in Russia and Europe. Oskar finally decided to cast off the Burnside moniker and work as Oskar Szafraniec. Since 2014 he brings more instruments on the stage as he's performing with Roland Aira machines, midi controllers, microphones and laptop. He is very inspired by the people he meets, open minded, curious about different cultural perspectives and that's how he developed his personal, unique sound. |

Search | Add | 4 | Diane Marie Kloba | Diane Marie Kloba is a Chicago-based singer-guitarist-songwriter who has ploughed a unique furrow, with uncompromising creative integrity, across eight studio albums and numerous shorter recordings, with another two full-length records ready for imminent release. Diane’s music is characterised by its uniqueness, by its sense of difference, although that difference isn’t some kind of self-consciousness exoticism, or a theatrical otherness, or yet the atavistic social transgression that is arguably a facet of all pop-music. Diane’s difference is more a kind of personalised strangeness: it’s the same kind of difference that makes you you, and me me. Her work as a composing musician began in 1997, and since that time Diane has released eight full-length albums, along with many shorter releases and collaborations. In her solo work, Diane plays most of the instruments herself, including guitar, drums, percussion and synthesizers, although other contributors are present on some recordings. Diane has released collaborative recordings with creative musicians around the world in a wide variety of styles, and has received airplay on many radio stations globally. This has enabled her to reach a diverse and appreciative audience, and she has received a lot of positive critical attention. Her songs are sometimes recognisable riffs on the pop song form, and at other times they are overtly experimental, but there is never anything abrasive or ‘difficult’ about them. Across all of her varied releases there is a consistent dedication to presenting the unalloyed truth of her experience within the recognisable format of the song, her many and illuminating creative insights offered to the listener with directness and generosity. She welcomes her audience with warmth and wonder into the capacious dwelling that is her uniquely creative heart.
