Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | The Gas House Gorillas | Another daft name for a band, this time comprising Rick Fink on lead vocals, Crusher Carmean on bass, Oscar Rodriguez on guitar and Eddie Everett on drums. There’s is an interesting sound, as at heart they’re a jump blues band. But one that has a lot of aggression to it, and a rough and ready approach, which might put some people off. But there is a vim and vigor which wins you over on tunes like ‘Party on the Second Floor’ and ‘The Things That Swings’. It’s a mix of jump blues, rock and roll, and even a pop punk edge, which I would imagine rocks the house when they take to the stage. But even from the comfort of my rocking chair, they managed to raise a smile.

Mainly focused on high-BPM hardcore club genres but also incorporating contemporary hybrid club influences, VIBRISSE work through fast-paced, unpredictable selections on demolishing any kind of separation between music genres as well as people and emotions. The duo puts into music the current digitally-augmented society's practice of leveling up past, present, and future timelines in one momentous instant, crafting eventful, energizing experiences on the dancefloor where heavy tracks from all over the hardcore spectrum (uptempo, frenchcore, jcore, gabber, makina) meet with unsuspected bangers from other club realms (slowstyle, edm, 160 club, donk). Search | Add | 3 | Jerk Off Jack Off Frig Face | Jerk Off Jack Off Frig Face was the country and western/cowboy themed folkpunk side project of Tim Findlen during his time living with and performing mainly as Vomit Dichotomy, a group of wingnuts who lived and mostly attended Goddard together. Around 2003 there were plans for a split album with Johnny Hobo and the Freight Trains that never materialised. In the end, two albums were recorded with the second record being turned into a live stage comedy musical that toured punk houses in 2005. Members consisted of Tim Findlen (Over A Cardboard Sea, Roochie Toochie) fronting the band and drawing on other Vomit Dichotomy residents like Jeremiah Morelock (Mantits, Pretend You're Happy) who was the voice of 'Scary Steve'.

Search | Add | 3 | Konphlicted | Hip-hop artist from Memphis, Tennessee. Konphlicted, an artist born and raised in Birmingham, wrote his first rap song at the early age of 8. An avid writer of poetry and short stories, Konphlicted fell in love with the blend of lyricism and soulful undertones that is RAP music. His style is an unique blend of complex multi-syllabic lyrics, layered metaphors, and brutal honesty. Instead of chasing fame, Konphlicted writes to stimulate the soul and invoke contemplation. After making the move to Memphis, Konphlicted decided to pursue his passion. It was here he met [a=Mr. Sche], CEO of Immortal Productions, and the music making soon followed. With a recent release of his first project “Ready the EP”, Konphlicted is throwing the knockout blow with his debut album “daWicKedwAys & Softer Shades”.

Search | Add | 3 | Cigvë | Ciguë is the French word for hemlock, a wild herbaceous plant that grows in fields, vacant lots, wastelands. Extremely poisonous, it also has analgesic effects. Search | Add | 3 | Those Darn Gnomes | Since their formation in 2013, Those Darn Gnomes have blurred the lines between noise, metal and free jazz. The group formed initially with the lineup of Mark Steuer (vocals), Christian Molenaar (guitar/flute), Russell Case (bass) and Bryon Wojciechowski (drums), releasing their debut album The Years independently in 2015. The band followed up with their second full-length, The Zodiac, in 2016. While their debut more heavily emphasized the band’s roots in avant-garde metal and hardcore, The Zodiac stripped away any pretense of being a metal band in favor of a new, even more aggressive sound incorporating further elements of free improvisation and harsh noise. The band released a fully improvised single-track EP, Peeling, as a limited cassette in 2017, before playing shows throughout North America with like-minded experimental acts such as Ehnahre, Sult, Hypnagogue, Dischordia and many more. Calling Whitetails to a Tuned Bow is Those Darn Gnomes’ first release for [l545739] and sees a further expansion and refinement of the band’s sprawling, genre-defying sound. On Calling Whitetails to a Tuned Bow, Those Darn Gnomes explore the outer reaches of progressive metal, free improvisation and avant-garde sound design through the incorporation of algorithmic compositional techniques derived from mold cultivation, homemade instruments and a greater focus on abrasive weirdness.

Search | Add | 3 | The University of Virginia Glee Club | The Virginia Glee Club is a critically acclaimed men’s chorus based at the University of Virginia. It performs both traditional and contemporary vocal works, typically in TTBB arrangements. Founded in 1871, the Glee Club is the University’s oldest musical organization and one of the oldest all-male collegiate vocal ensembles in the United States. It is currently conducted by Frank Albinder. The Virginia Glee Club was founded in 1871 as the Cabell House Men. In the 1893–1894 session of the University, the Glee Club was combined with other extant student musical groups to form the Glee, Banjo, and Mandolin Club, a more permanent organization, with professor of mathematics (and University Chapel organist) Harrison Randolph as the director. During this period, the group toured major Southern cities annually, playing to standing room only crowds in Richmond and traveling as far afield as Atlanta, St. Louis. and Memphis, according to contemporary accounts, donating the profits to the Athletic Association of the University of Virginia. The group continued to perform and tour the South through the early 1900s; they are recorded as visiting Atlanta on tour under the direction of a student, John Shishmanian, in October 1905, and a contemporary letter attests to their existence in that fall 1905. After the fall of 1905, the group disbanded and reformed periodically; University historian Philip Alexander Bruce indicates it disbanded in 1905, then reformed in 1910–1911 and began to perform again. The group went on hiatus for a year in the fall of 1912, citing “disadvantageous circumstances” with the hope of reforming later. It apparently did reform in late 1913 or early 1914, based on a January 1914 photo of the group. Finally, in January 1915, it was reorganized under the leadership of Professor Alfred Lawrence (A.L.) Hall-Quest (professor of educational psychology); Hall-Quest is said to have modeled the group after the glee club of his alma mater, Princeton University. Since 1915, the Virginia Glee Club has been in continuous existence as a men’s chorus at the University. From the 1920s into the 1980s, the Glee Club enjoyed an association with the McIntire Department of Music through a series of directors who were members of the music faculty, including Arthur Fickenscher, Harry Rogers Pratt, Stephen Tuttle, Donald Macinnis, and Donald Loach. The group was viewed as an educational resource that enhanced other offerings; a course catalog from the 1920s offered students in the Composition class the opportunity to have their works performed by the Glee Club. During the 1940s, the Glee Club worked with composer in residence Randall Thompson when director Stephen Tuttle commissioned Thompson to write The Testament of Freedom, a setting of Thomas Jefferson’s words about liberty, for the Virginia Glee Club. In the later years of Tuttle’s tenure, the Glee Club recorded an album with RCA of traditional university songs, accompanied by the University of Virginia Band. In 1953, members of the Glee Club formed the Virginia Gentlemen, the oldest a cappella group at UVA, which originated as a performing subset of the Glee Club and became an independent organization in the 1980s. The 1960s and 1970s found the group developing a specialty in Renaissance music under the direction of University professor Donald Loach, who developed a countertenor section within the group to meet the demands of the polyphonic style. At this time the group performed on national and international stages, including a performance at the State Department for the Washington Diplomatic Corps Banquet in 1968, the only college glee club to be so honored at the time. In 1971, the Z Society gave the Glee Club its Organization Award in recognition of its concerts, the recording of its album A Shadow’s on the Sundial, and its pending first European tour. The group toured Europe in 1972, funding the trip with individual and community contributions, as well as profits from their 1972 recording, A Shadow’s on the Sundial. In 1989, the Virginia Glee Club became a Contracted Independent Organization, with substantial assistance from Gilbert J. Sullivan and the UVA Alumni Association, when the Music Department moved unilaterally to combine it with the Virginia Women’s Chorus into a mixed choir, which would have eliminated the Glee Club’s independent identity.

Search | Add | 3 | Dee Dee Sea | Travis Sehorn | Dee Dee Sea crept from the bedroom to the underground scene of Montana as a youth quickly gaining a devoted following. Soon Dee Dee was opening gigs for folks like Magnolia Electric Co., Bill Callahan, Califone, C.J. Boyd, LAKE, Karl Blau, Your Heart Breaks, Jason Webley, Typhoon, Thao & The Get Down Stay Down and many others. After many years of touring with the Missoula Oblongata, a punk theater group and years abroad as an artistic international party boy, Dee Dee sunk into the swamp of New Orleans. No one heard anything for awhile... Now Dee Dee Sea has been tracked down in the woods of Maine in a homemade timber framed studio completely off the grid. The new album, I Saw the Awful Light In the Shadows of Joy is the first offering from the outsider multi-instrumentalist. Recorded entirely with sun power, all alone, this album reeks of slowness, of sand in the sheets, of lusty hangovers, of release and of looking back through the bottom of the wine bottle drank on the beaches of the world. The desperate pleasures told within weave in and out of consciousness and somehow drift up river to the mountains peak and sink deep into the earth... |

His first appearance on public as a hard techno DJ was on the first big rave in his home town in 2005. By that time he had no experience in mixing, but he could easily play his own tracks. Since that, he became a welcome guest at almost all big underground events in Novosibirsk and around. Later, Artyom discovered IDM, Ambient, Glitch and Modern Classical genres and started making other kind of stuff. However, he didn’t break up with techno, otherwise, he often deals with it, adding some fresh colors and infinitely experimenting with IDM tricks. |

Search | Add | 3 | Werbeniuk | Werbeniuk are a band from Teesside in the North-East of England. Not easily pigeon-holed, their "Teesside World Music" combines percussion, electronics and catchy vocals with a political conscience and a strong sense of fun. Formed in March 2010, as a three-piece comprising [a1457477], [a1471096] and [a3876883], the line-up soon expanded when [a1471095] and [a3876884] joined. Gigging regularly since June 2011, the band released their first CD [r=5802778] in December 2012. Simon left the band to pursue other interests in the summer of 2013, so Martin Cass stepped in, and they carried on regardless. Martin quit in April 2016, and Tim Oxnard joined in the following October. The band are a well-established part of the Teesside music scene. Their instrument-swapping and the general on-stage chaos has arguably made them the region's premier Health & Safety risk, but certainly one of the best and most original live acts around. Michael, Tim, Gary, Jimmy and Andy (in no particular order) all sing and play (in no particular order): guitar, bass guitar, melodica, percussion, sampler, synthesizer, walkingstick bass, linen-basket drums, electronic drums. Simon and Martin used to do the same.

Search | Add | 3 | Martin Kirkegaard | Martin Kirkegaard | Biography Martin Kirkegaard (1976 - ) is a danish contemporary folk musician rooted in the improvisational aspect of the music based on the narrative storytelling. “real music should always have a real story to tell. A story that emanates from the moment of conception” he comments. His melodies and sketches come from the free space between his instrument and himself. Though he comes from a Blues and Jazz background he considered himself a folk musician but draws upon everything he hears. “Don`t box me in” he says. ”The world consists of sounds just waiting to get articulated”. In the light of this his travel to Africa has made a big and lasting impression on him and his way of looking at his instrument. Especially the string instruments of West Africa has inspired his guitarwork quiet a bit. And together with his travel to Scotland and The United States he has gathered a connection (in his mind) between the different folk music of the continents. He believes that every music is connected one way or the other. Of course he has his heroes (Robbie Basho, Ali Farka Toure, Abdullah Ibrahim, Bert Jansch, John Renbourn, Miles Davis, Ravi Shankar, Albert Ayler ect.) and his favorite patterns and colors but he always try to remodel, disassemble and translate the sounds he hears. On rare occasions he can play a covertune but he prefers to write/create/play everything himself. “It doesn`t fell right to me playing other people`s music. Maybe it is because I know it is not mine. I fell it is some others story that I am telling - it is a kind of an alienation”. Martin also believes in obstructions in music. He considers obstructions as a remedy for creating. And his most significant obstruction must be that he does not work with overdubs. Everything must be played as heard in real time. “That way I can make my music more authentic. I feel that I can be present in the moment on a hole other level. Maybe it is considered “old school” but I like it that way. You know, it is just a man and his instrument – a craftsman in process” he says. For many years he played in the trio DaFuGa that toured around Denmark for almost 8 years. Since then he has worked as a solo guitarist. In this context he has played concerts in Denmark at museums, festivals, small venues ect. The response has been surprising good (considered the somewhat narrow music genre) and his repeating patterns and almost hypnotic way of playing has left a lasting impression on the audience. Tar Gui is his official solo album debut (on vinyl) and consists of 10 pieces for guitar and 2 for banjo. It is an album full of decolorization, beauty spots, open wounds, small animals, love, rashes and other qualities. Here, no robot can hit the real edges of the music. It's music between man and wood. |

Search | Add | 3 | Ben Iota | Having been an active member of the Adelaide Hip Hop community for over a decade, emcee and producer [a3389344] (AKA Bornski of Hip Hop groups Adroit Effusive and Common Cause) is back. After taking a hiatus from Hip Hop to concentrate on studies, travel and to live in remote Indonesia, a new artist with a fresh and somewhat unique perspective to Australian Hip Hop has emerged. Ben now approaches music as a writer, with fewer attachments to the scene, and a perspective that more often that not looks outside of the suburb, state and country that he lives in, posing some big questions. This is socio-political music from a lived perspective, underpinned by inquiry and the need to explore. In 2012 Ben Iota the emcee teamed up with friend and musical comrade Matchless Gift on production to write, record and produce a series of songs in a time of inspired energy. Having freshly finished his studies as a mature-aged student, and with an overseas move on the horizon, the songs just fell out. 2013 sees the release of this collaboration - “Born Free”.
