Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 The Deadsilence Syndicate Band In The Beginning Two punks, Three dj's and a laid back bass scientist meander through the 1990's ears open to the ever changing audio that fills their soul spoilt city. Confused by genres, pigeon holes and evolving formats they seek more than the local sound system or night clubs can offer them. "It's not as good as a gig though mate" the scruffy punk explains to a dedicated dj one morning after a night of debauchery. "Ok, maybe" agrees the dj. "But who wants to listen to a fucking lead guitarist when their out on a Saturday night". "It doesn't have to be that way though". The scruffy punk argues. "I'm selling my drum kit, check this out" he reaches for a crumpled copy of Future Music magazine, scrambles through the pages and finally arrives at his destination. "Look, a real midi drum kit, one that finally works. As soon as I can sell them old pots and pans, I'm getting it. I'm gonna make drum'n'bass, real drum'n'bass, with real people and real instruments". And so he did. Times changed, things rearranged, technology grew and our young punks craved. One dj who secretly played the cello, discarded his antique for a new electronic one, our bass scientist keenly awaited the first midi bass guitar. I quote, "That really fucking works." Punk number two quickly invested in an electronic percussion device. Our dedicated dj brought along some powerful synthesizers and it wasn't long before they bumped into a suitable rapper spending his afternoons gibbering on street corners for shirt buttons. It was done. The whole band was electronic. Not a hint of traditional band stuff in sight. Intrigued? I hope so! The DSS Band are indeed a heavy-duty proposition, taking the gnarlier end of drum + bass, throwing in a smidgeon of electro, some cello, then adding furiously spat lyrics, the end result is a D&B / punk fuelled demolition derby, not for the faint hearted.

Search Add 2 Ron's Neighbours Formed during the mid-80s in the downbeat town of Walsall, their music a blend of disparate influences from 50s crooners, blues and reggae to Killing Joke and The Bunnymen; Ron’s Neighbours were out of step with the perfect pop of the C86 indie generation. Their only single - “To The Fight” – a split 7” was supported by the Trade Union Resource Centre, while many gigs were benefits for striking miners, leading to a loyal local following. Engineered by Ozzy Osbourne’s brother Tony, tracks were recorded at an 8 track bedroom / home studio, while a terraced house served as rehearsal space. When a tape recorder was left running it captured the long-suffering neighbour for posterity. His outburst gave the band and song, its name. Here Ron Next Door was born. The song was finally released almost 30 years after recording in Original, Alternative and Dub mixes across 7" and compilation LP.

Search Add 2 Swamp Lobsters From Planet Tharg The Swamp Lobsters From Planet Tharg describe themselves as 'Three blokes transcending the mundane and systematic squarehead-ism, to bring you the rhythmic riddles of the cosmic crustacean. Banned from most intergalactic venues, they’re here now to share their subsonic vibrations . . . Apply at the transportation portal, for your journey into the forbidden zone . . . The Lobsterbotomy awaits . . . YEAH . . . ' The music of this three-piece outfit is reminiscent of 1960's rhythm and blues, ala The Yardbirds - fused with the Angels - and interspersed by quizzical and absurdist song titles, introducing the listener to each instrumental freak out!

Search Add 2 Mia Mäkilä Mia Mäkilä a.k.a. Mia Makila (born March 21, 1979 in Norrköping, Sweden) is a swedish artist known for her lowbrow and horror art. She currently lives and works in Stockholm, Sweden. "I guess everyone's calling me a "horror artist" because I deal with difficult emotions and themes such as fear, angst, madness, rage and sorrow in my art. But I also use a lot of humour. Making my demons having fun on the canvas. You could describe my art as horror pop surrealism or dark lowbrow. My work includes mixed media, paintings and digital collages. I'm self taught, using my own techniques and constantly learning new stuff. Sometimes it works, sometimes it sucks, but that's all part of my self education. The fact that I'm also an art historian has definitely had a great impact on my art. But I’m mostly inspired by movies and film directors such as David Lynch, Ingmar Bergman, Alfred Hitchcock, Roy Andersson, Terry Gilliam and Tim Burton and artists like Hieronymus Bosch, Pieter Bruegel, Francisco Goya, Jean-Michel Basquiat and the masters of Disney Studio's in the 1930's-40's. All my collegues in the Lowbrow Art Movement are also inspiration sources."

Author and writer based in Berlin Dr.Sócrates has been djing for many years in the underground scene. His mix of Afrobeat, Cumbia, Latin, Reggae, Black Music and much more is the result of a tireless and thorough search for the Beats and Artists that not belong to the music main stream business. Dr.Sócrates spins always a lot of surprises with music that you really want to listen but you do not know how. The Story Going down to the basement it was noise, the feeling of sweat and hardly some light. Bodies and music, very loud music. I was upstairs, sitting by candlelight, the doorman. Sometime before a Brazilian guy did the job, somebody told me, but I didn’t care. It was in the legendary Freitagsbar in the district of Mitte, later on one of the many victims of the unstoppable gentrification that Berlin has experienced since the turn of the century. Before that, in another of those illegal bars that opened on different days of the week in many of the districts of the city centre, some Donnerstagsbar in Prenzlauer-Berg, my career as dj began together with other 3 enthusiasts. Mixing global beats, reggae and a friend doing the MC’s job. It was fun and a lot of partying. Djing till late and working early in the morning. The Kaffee Burger was also on the list. But, somehow, it didn’t last.... continue here... https://www.tropicaldiasporarecords.com/tdr-folium/dr-socrates/
