Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025

Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 4 33blackLP Mark T. Davis (Omenya) and Allan Zane (WYRM, Solumenata, Le Scrambled Debutante etc.) 33blackLP is the project brainchild of Mark Davis (Omenya). He is joined by Allan Zane (WYRM, Solumenata, Le Scrambled Debutante, etc.). Davis’s and Zane’s styles are similar, yet unique enough to augment each other’s work in a manner that is truly sublime. 33blackLP set out to amalgamate and mutate musical genres without adhering to any particular one of them. This strategy is employed in order to lend an element of surprise to every release. The music should speak for itself. Davis and Zane insist on this concept to the extent that every release (and every track on every release) will be represented by progressive Roman numerals as titles. Visually, 33blackLP will engage in “aesthetic open dialogues”—as abstract imagery can complement music without imposing concepts upon it in the way that song titles can. 33blackLP draw influence from every area of life—without implying suggestions or answers. These influences are myriad. These influences are stylistically-blended into a refined hedonism (sometimes even sadomasochistic in its expression) that is the very essence that is the project.

Search Add 4 It's A Living Thing Rodrigo Falcao, Damon Morris, Monashee Sun, Alissa Raya, Anju Singh Is a band on a mission. Beginning as a looping psych-rock 2-piece, the bands exhilarating live set captivated music nerds, dance-party-goers & critical viewers alike over their first year of local shows. Spontaneous & driving, armed with Rodrigo Falcao's accomplished samba influenced rock-dance rythyms, threaded with Damon Morris's quasi-electronic sounding yet completely organic melodic elements, the duo strode bravely into unknown territory. The 6-song EP "You don't Have To" is a perfect cross-section of their audacity. Sink or Swim's Disco party sing-along slides gradually into evil stoner-rock psychadelic meltdown, like an inevitable comedown from a stratospheric high. The opening track "Relative Escape" blends minimalist looping with ethereal vocal harmonies, before catapulting into a stomping apocalyptic rock theme. Another track "Doubletime", is a 2.5 minute (completely improv) 70's power-psych jam, utilizing a loop from a different song, played at 2X the speed. The EP captures perfectly the "anything goes, & everything counts" improvisational spirit of the band, simultaneously admitting vulnerability & skyrocketing imperviously into the wilds of outer space! After pushing the potential of live looping near-to the limit, & being in exclusive musical isolation for a year, the boys began slowly taking on outside involvements again. The living process dictated a period of cultivation & outside energy. 5 shows in a row, were performed with unique lineup & material each time! This was highly exhausting, but fruitful. The new sound is deeper, & wider, bringing in chorale, folk, classical, & other influences, yet retains all the bombastic energy of the original Duo. The new members are: Alissa Raya, bringing her skills as a drummer (Organ Trail) to the rythmic bass pulses, has replaced the loops & freed the band from the linear process they required. She is also blessed with an amazing strong voice, that picks you up gently but carries you roughly all the way down to the soul south. Monashee Sun, on violin, (& yamaha portatone!) adding her accomplished fiddle trills along with a highly developed sensitivity to dynamics & detail, not to mention her high-alto range otherworldy harmonies. Anju Singh, on Cello, as the "5th member". She's busy with bands, (I/I, Greyscales, & National Shield) that take her partially away from IALT, But her skills as an improviser, experimenter, & L.earn I.t Y.ourself classical musician makes her the perfect addition to the Living layer cake of sound.

Search Add 4 Ophir Ilzetzki Ophir Ilzetzki Ophir Ilzetzki (*1978) is a classically trained composer of experimental music living in Tel Aviv, Israel. He holds a doctorate in music from the Southampton University, where he studied under Michael Finnissy, as well as an MMus from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, and a BA from the Koninklijk Conservatorium – both in composition. Ilzetzki's music explores various forces through instrumental, electronic, computer, performance, task and conceptual scores, where his works often research the intersection between through-composed and improvised pieces. Ilzetzki’s ongoing compositional goal is to strip forms to their bare essentials whilst still maintaining their identity. In recent years Ilzetzki has been applying games to musical structures, as well as focusing on alternative avenues for scoring music - an activity often leading to the meeting of music with dramaturgy. Ophir’s music is regularly performed in Israel and abroad, and has been featured in numerous international festivals, such as: Tectonics, MATA, Norwich and Norfolk Festival, ACL Asian Music Festival, ISCM World Music Days, City of London Festival, Israel Festival, and more. His works have been published by: Open Source, Stenton Press, Classwar Karaoke, Surrism Phonoethics, False IND, Babelscores, Oryan & Ressling.

Search Add 4 Chris Herriges Began playing various musical instruments at age nine, at the gentle urging of artistic parents. First experience as guitarist with band in Junior High School - Gateway - kings of the roller rinks in hometown Eau Claire, WI. Shelved musical pursuits during college years for conventional career aspirations (BBA - University of WI, Eau Claire, 1986.) but became determined for career as national recording artist before graduation. Relocated to the Twin Cities and, after brief stint as an Office Coffee Services salesman, began full-scale plunge. (Voice lessons, extensive guitar practice, songwriting efforts.). First self-produced recordings were on 45 rpm vinyl: "Please You", "Sweet, True Companion" and the most successful of which - "Come What May" which, through independent promotion, garnered significant Midwest commercial airplay ("Top Pick", Midwest Music Journal.) and played all Summer long on Top-40 radio in Sioux Falls, SD. (1989) Lots of Midwest club dates followed, primarily in the Twin Cities. Most notably, a series of national openers at The Fine Line Music Cafe, Minneapolis, for Shawn Phillips, Kenny Rankin, and others. First full-length CD, Come What May, released 1990. Played live and recorded extensively throughout the 'Nineties with various bandmates. The Chris Herriges Project, with bassist Chris Shaw and drummer Chris Weinberger (later joined by guitarist Pete McCauley) saw significant success with a number of Rock Radio singles. "All Real Now" and "Long, Cold Road" (independently promoted) were added on commercial stations in places like Roanoke VA, Chatanooga TN, and Key West FL. (1993/94). "Don't Turn Me Away" written by Herriges' brother, Greg, made #104 on Album Network Magazine's national Rock Radio chart...due, in part, to a starred review (critical merit) in Billboard Magazine. (1994.)

A work of pure rock'n'roll, which proves that the style remains firm and strong. ‘Southern Dissonance’ has everything to become a classic for older and younger fans." - Headbangers News, Brazil https://www.headbangersnews.com.br/resenhas/southern-dissonance/ “Awakens your wildest and most rebellious spirit and while you listen to it you can not help but point your horns towards the sky and venerate the real rock.” - Edgar Allan Poets http://www.edgarallanpoets.com/kevin-the-persian/ "Kevin the Persian may sing 'Rock is dead' on this amazing album, but he has revived it simultaneously. Candidate for album of the year? Hell yes!" - MangoWave, Germany https://mangorave.blogspot.com/2022/02/fresh-mango-february-06-2022.html “Walks freely between the grunge of Alice in Chains and the hard rock of Lynyrd Skynyrd, embodying the lyricism found in Patti Smith's best and translating it all through his own filter of originality and nostalgia.” - You! Search Add 4 كمال مسلم Kamal Musallam Born in Kuwait on June 8 1970, from very artistic parents, Kamal showed unique talents for drawing and playing music from the early age of 3. He started learning guitar at the age of 9 but took it more seriously when he was 17. Kamal was educated as architect and has went through various musical experiences throughout his young age and college times; of which were Arabic bands, Flamenco, Rock and Blues bands. Late 80's to early 90's, he started discovering more of Jazz sounds and got to know Pat Metheny, Miles Davis, George Benson, John McLaughlin, Al Di Meola, among many others. In 1994 he moved to France, where he experienced another true musical atmosphere for four years, attending festivals and concerts in both France and Switzerland. He met artists from all over Europe and the world. There he created a more obvious interest for jazz, and developed his playing style. In 1997 he moved back for one year in Lebanon to work as architect; during which he met Ziad Rahbani and started to be a part of his ensemble. There he was convinced his real passion was music and nothing but that, and had to make a serious decision about his career, either to be an architect or a musician, and he chose to explore the musical world. That decision demanded a second trip to France to explore more into the core of the music industry. Kamal’s final return to settle in Jordan, led him to establish his own label K&G and to produce his first album ON A JORDAN RIVER’S SIDE, 2003. It was followed by Out Of MY CITY, 2008, LULU, 2009, SONGS FOR SEUNG-EUN, 2011, THE BEST OF KAMAL MUSALLAM, 2012, HOMEMADE IN ROME, 2014, and WORLD PEACE TRIO, 2017 and HANDMADE IN HUMMUS, 2020. A new collaboration with Billy Cobham, Kai Eckhardt and Gary Husband, among others, is still in production process and falls under the new project entitled "EastMania", expected to be released in 2022. Kamal is settled in Dubai since 2002, active locally and internationally as performer and producer. His main touring bands are Kamal Musallam Trio, Lulu Project, and EastMania. Other collaborations perform occasionally as World Peace Trio, with Gilad Atzmon and Dwiki Dharmawan, and Sea Of Strings, with Dominic Miller (longtime STING's right hand), and Jason Carter. Musallam is currently playing the nylon Silent guitar™ and the newly developed Trans-Acoustic models by YAMAHA, the electric Multi-Oud by GODIN. In 2017, he had developed with IBANEZ his signature guitar models, the electric KMM1 and the nylon fretless KMA1 both released in 2010, and later the high end electric model KMM100 released in 2014, all with a dedicated “quarter tones” playing facility, opening new horizons for guitarists to experiment with additional sounds non existing on standard guitars. Kamal played along with: STING, George Benson, Billy Cobham, Bobby McFerrin, Bob Franceschini, Randy Brecker, Ada Rovatti, Stanely Jordan, Ranjit Barot, Anne Ducros, Dwiki Dharmawan, Andy Suzuki, David Reinhardt, Jorge Pardo (Paco De Lucia Sextet), Francisco Molina, Israel Varela, Volker Schlott, and many others.
