Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 11 | All Star Collegians | A number of different ensembles recorded using the "All Star Collegians" name in the late 1920s-early 1930s. Except for vocalists and occasional soloists who are identified either on releases or published discographies, the personnel of these groups is not known. In rare cases, "All Star Collegians" is used as a pseudonym for orchestras that have been identified, and an effort is made to identify these orchestras on a release-by-release basis. More often, the name appears to have been applied to various studio dance orchestras who recorded either for [l456549] (ca. 1929) or [l477618] (ca. 1930s). In still other cases, "All Star Collegians" may be the name of an actual group that recorded a series of collegiate fight songs and similarly themed selections for Plaza/ARC in 1930. These recordings are often themselves associated with a pseudonym, [a3679992]. However, the identity of this group is not known with certainty, and the relationship, if any, between artists credited as "All Star Collegians" is just not known.

Search | Add | 11 | Miles Hunt's Lock Down Demo Society | A collection of songs written, demoed and recorded during the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic lockdown featuring material worked on by Miles Hunt, Luke Johnson and Morgan Nicholls. Miles Hunt stated "Initially I had only started to write and demo songs for a future Vent 414 record. However the band’s mighty powerhouse of a drummer, Pete Howard, is currently unable to record or program drums at his home, which led me to seek the help of Luke Johnson. Luke and I have known each other now for thirty-five years, him being the son of The Wonder Stuff’s first manager, Les Johnson. He is a truly remarkable drummer and has enjoyed an international career behind the kit with a variety of rockin’ bands. He is also something of a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. When not out on the road he is often to be found beavering away creating his own music in his home studio. As luck would have it at the time of my asking Luke to program drums for the new Vent 414 songs he was also sitting on a bunch of instrumental tracks that needed vocals adding to them. I offered my services to write lyrics, find the vocal melodies and add my nasal whine to his tracks. He accepted. So what you will find here are two separate streams of songwriting; the songs that I initiate for the future V414 record and the songs that Luke and I have worked on together for an, as yet, unspecified project."

Search | Add | 11 | De MiniStars | Dutch children's choir formed in 1986 that sang international and national popsongs of which the lyrics were rewritten to Dutch lyrics. They descibed some of the problems that teenagers had in the 80s. For example Borderline from Madonna was recorded as "Onzekerheid". These lyrics were rewritten by various writers like Tineke Schouten, Peter Jan Rens and Jan Simon Minkema. They performed the songs in a Dutch TV show in 1986, hosted by Tom Mulder. The show was inspired by a TV show from the UK TV station Channel 4 called 'Minipops'. The intro tune "Ministars" is based on Roger Glover's "Love is all", Translated to "Ministars". In 1991 a second season was broadcasted with new children, this time hosted by Martijn Krabbé.

'It was like getting the technicolour dream coat' So through his sister he then met up with Marc Mac who invited him down to the studio where he met Dego, this lntroduction helped him get hold of a mixing desk that he bought from L Double who drove all the way down from Leeds with it in the car. 'So at 14/15 I was hanging out down Reinforced with my heroes, playing table tennis' His first release Hysteria Part 1 featured the track 'The Choice' aka "6 Million Ways To Die" on Lemon D's Planet Earth Records, this got him noticed by Goldie who would sign 'Your Sound' for his Metalheadz label as J Majik. |

Search | Add | 11 | Scuba Death | Ricardo Donoso | Ricardo Donoso is a composer, percussionist and electronic musician from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil who currently resides in Boston. After having studied composition at Berklee College of Music and the New England Conservatory he has participated in a slew of projects over the years, most notably playing drums for avant-death metal unit Ehnahre and being one half of the ever morphing experimental electronic duo Perispirit. Ricardo's musical vocabulary draws as much from contemporary composition, drone, to techno and noise. Whether on his multifaceted albums or in live performance Donoso's main interest lies in building and manipulating an immersive sound world that blurs the line between light & dark, hope & despair and the past & future – creating a truly timeless & transcendent experience. He has released music on esteemed labels such as Digitalis, Further Records and Hospital Productions and has toured throughout North America, Europe & Asia. His first three albums – Progress Chance (2011), Assimilating The Shadow (2012) and As Iron Sharpens Iron, One Verse Sharpens Another (2013) – were widely celebrated by specialized vehicles such as FACT, Clash and Resident Advisor. His music has been described as a sort of "anti-techno" where polyrhythmic structures and meticulous textures blur any semblance of a bar line, instead collapsing in on itself for moments of striking isolation. His moniker Scuba Death refers to his experience of nearly drowning in the Atlantic ocean when he was young. It's based on themes of fear and death-anxiety and the music he makes under the name is a more somber, with a focus on analogue sound, percussion, sampling and location recordings. |

Search | Add | 11 | John Mancini Band | John started writing songs on a cross-country road trip he took after graduating from Rhode Island School of Design. He began performing regularly when he moved to Southern Mississippi in 2004. Returning to his hometown of Baltimore, MD, in 2007, he started JMB, recorded two full-length award-winning albums and toured the Mid-Atlantic from NY to VA until 2012. In 2013, John moved to California to pursue an MFA in Creative Writing. He recently settled in the Bay Area where he recorded Halfway Home, his second EP of 2015. He then formed the newgrass group, Broken Barrels and released their debut album, A Little off the Top, in 2016. Seeking a balance of melody, groove and message, John has published more than forty songs since his 2009 debut, which was praised by Billboard, Relix, Glide, Big Takeover Magazine and others for its songwriting and musicianship. Honing a lyrical folk-rock aesthetic that has come to define his sound, John draws from an Americana tradition shared by artists like Ryan Adams, Tom Petty, Gram Parsons, John Fogerty and Dr. John. His songs have played on non-com radio stations across the country and in Europe. They have also appeared on film and TV in the U.S. and abroad and received praise from top music blogs. Albums and EPs: JMB (2009) Sun King (2011) Ancient Americans (2012) Shangri-La (2013) Medicine Show (2015) Halfway Home (2015) Broken Barrels (2016) Take One Last Look Around (2018)

He is based in Buseck, state of Hesse, and launched his hip hop career recently by signing with the hip hop label YBS420 RECORDS and releasing the first singles in 2018. Kavula has been writing lyrics since his teenage years but never showed to anybody, apart from a few exceptions. Till now...! The songs are about what songs are naturally about... love and hate, sense and nonsense, shattered dreams and missed aims, high flights and crash landings, desperation and hope, splendid successes and crushing defeats, the unbearable lightness of being and the hardness of breaking it off, lost principles and won experiences... to put it in a nutshell, about pretty much anything that makes us love life... as well as hate it. Is it still art or already midlife-crisis?! In any case it's the sound of his '30s...

Search | Add | 11 | Dean G Smith | Dean G. Smith aka Deangersmith (born 11 February 1969) is a South African–born musician and vocalist based in London, UK. His primary instrument is guitar and vocals although he began his career in Johannesburg, South Africa as a drummer and vocalist in the thrash metal band Ragnärok. He is the founding member of several South African and UK heavy metal bands from mid 80's to present day, including Ragnärok, Odyssey, 2 Dogs Funking, Brothering, PijinFist, Mouthful of Flies and Philistine. He appeared as guest vocals for The Blast and played rhythm guitar for the female fronted rock band Balance. He was the creator, producer and host of the radio show, The Metal and Hard Rock from Africa Show for Diligaf Radio. Inspired by AC/DC and Metallica in his teens, Dean founded the thrash metal band Ragnärok as drummer and vocalist in 1986. They were considered the initiators of Thrash Metal in South Africa ahead of the burgeoning metal and hard rock scene in-spite of the political climate. The band unofficially released one demo album in 1989, Troops of Thunder. During this time Dean was also guest vocals on The Blast’s 1988 self released two track 7" as lead vocalist on Little Sister and backing on Not Quite The Same Thing, recorded at Universal Studios. Their demo album was re-released as a CDR in 2018 due to new demand from fans in Europe. From 1991 onwards Dean played guitar in the band Odyssey, was lead vocalist and rhythm guitar in the band 2 Dogs Funking, founded Brothering as lead vocals and guitar in 1997, winning the Battle of the Bands. He toured extensively around Southern Africa with these bands. Projects during that time include Pijinfist and the female fronted rock band, Balance. In the UK in 2004, Dean founded Mouthful of Flies as guitarist and backing vocalist with Dan Stevenson from Fallout and Bloodstone as lead vocals and guitars. The band released Ten Negative Sixes in 2007. The album received excellent reviews by Malcolm Dome in Metal Hammer, Kerrang and all major Metal magazines, and they played numerous London venues throughout 2008 and 2009. From 2013 to 2014 Dean produced and hosted The Metal and Hard Rock from Africa Show for Diligaff Radio as a way to showcase African metal and hard rock to a wider audience. In his own words, "African bands generally have a huge struggle with regards to internet access and bandwidth issues and publicity, my aim was to get them on Radio and expose them to a wider audience, Dilligaf has an extensive fan base and provided the perfect platform to expose these bands to listeners from all over the world.” From 2010 onwards Dean has released solo albums under the name Deangersmith. Deangersmith’s latest album, Lead Us To Your Taker (Disable The Corrupt) contains ten songs released over 2020 and 2021, with the complete album available worldwide on all platforms on 25th September 2021. Originally inspired by the political climate in the world, much of his song writing on this album is driven by themes of Equality and somewhat influenced by the current Pandemic.

Search | Add | 11 | Artisan P | Phil Andre | Artisan P is Renaissance Man in the industry, creating music as an emcee, musician and writer. P holds his influences and sounds with pride describing it as “underground boom-bap music, with some lo-fi elements.” It’s those elements and Artisan’s commitment to release quality art at a consistent rate that makes him a must-listen in 2020. Even with Artisan filling the boom bap role, his verses and music extend beyond that with P’s flows and cadence embodying the poetic heart that hip-hop was born in. Coming off the release of his latest project “How We Kept On” Artisan looks to close the year on a high as he begins preparations for his debut full-length project. Artisan P’s family holds over 50 years of legacy in music, ensuring that our hero would eventually pursue music as well. “My father is a musician, he’s been with his band from Haiti since 1968, they just celebrated their 52nd anniversary.” P says. Meanwhile, P’s mother was a big fan of the art form introducing P to Haitian music, R&B, pop and rock. As he grew up Artisan continued to discover instruments on his own while attending concerts and soundchecks with his father, seeing the creation process firsthand. Piano, Guitar and saxophone are just a few of the instruments Artisan learned to play growing up and in fact still plays guitar to this day. After playing in a few bands throughout high school and college our hero decided to go solo and become Artisan P. The Miami stalwart delivers a refreshing execution in the practice of hip-hop. Artisan P pays homage to the legends that came before him while simultaneously carving out his own path to become a legend in his own right. It isn’t about the fame or any version of clout for him though as his goal is to get evoke something from them. “I want them to walk away with something to think about,” Artisan says, “I want people to be able to chill to my music, I want people to feel relaxed and good.” Over the course of releasing music these last five years, Artisan has shown a diversity of styles and the ability to rhyme over a plethora of sounds making him accessible for everyone. This being said, it is important to run Artisan P’s music back because he intentionally packs easter eggs for listeners to find. It’s one thing to have “bars” and Artisan P always provides prime execution in that arena, he separates himself in packing each track with relatable content and lyrical mastery that must be respected. Artisan P has spent the last few years owning the touring circuit in South, providing a platform for independent artists while dominating the stage himself. Also during this time he’s been releasing singles produced by other artists DJ Proof, Dr. LaFlow to name a few. All of his work ethic has P gaining attention at a national level, racking up close to 20K listens across platforms and performing with the likes of KRS-One, Epic Beard Men and more. The prolific Florida artist is garnering national coverage too with outlets like Underground Hip Hop Blog and Insomniac Magazine covering his work. Earlier in 2020, Artisan P released his EP “How We Kept On” which has already been picked up by Insomniac Magazine. Artisan P’s consistency and premiere ability to create engaging music is what will have him as a legend just like his father. ~ Michael Stover |

Among his most noted works are “Britannia” and “March of the Longhorns,” the latter composed originally for President Lyndon Johnson’s inaugural ceremony in 1965. Nihilistic nightmare. Diffused synth hiss, pretentious harsh-noise arcades, crispy scurfy hateful power-electronics. Another spit into the face of rotten society and shitty system. There were a few closed gigs. Also, loads of recordings were made. Most of them have been destroyed. Some parts of tapes full of piss and vinegar have just been lost or erased during terrible hangovers. All that have been saved - works from 1997 and later. Those are sounds recorded on our 4-track. The sounds of sick buzz in our heads. Torn apart sheets of iron and stone walls of slaughterhouses spattered with blood. This is the shit rubbed in the silk white sheets of modern industrial. This is the true old-school noise! No modern bullshit and nazi crap! Ⓐ

Search | Add | 11 | Markove | David Markov | Washington D.C American Hardstyle Producer and DJ Markove focuses on producing and mixing hardstyle using a unique blend of raw and euphoric. Whether with an uplifting melody or a punchy bassline, David “Markove” Markov is determined to establish a rare breed of creativity. Hardstyle represents an entire world for David to explore; one full of the melodies trance taught him to love and the powerful, more defined bass he has been yearning for. Hardstyle became a day and night passion following David’s discovery of the genre in high school. Being a native of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area has presented many obstacles for a genre newcomer. Hardstyle hasn’t reached the shores of the United States en masse yet, but David welcomes the challenge of helping hardstyle to spread amongst his fellow Americans. Markove is a play on the wording of David’s last name. Many people pronounce the name wrong, which led to Markove – a “proper” pronunciation of his last name. |
Search | Add | 11 | Greška | Loosen your suspenders, tighten your shoelaces and get ready to flap your extremities. Greška is a five piece neo-gypsy/klezmer ensemble not unlike a chipotle and cocaine kebab: you’re not sure where it’s from, but it sure knocks you off your tits. A torn canvas of Romanian gypsy dons a filthy smear of western metal, jazz-funk and classical-arrangement. Greshka are like the excitement of stubbing your toe on a wad of cash you forgot about; it didn't hurt, it was unexpected and you were a bit angry at first, but then remembered how much you feel like buying a really expensive bottle of wine to go with your petrol station steak-and-mushroom pie. This is a band who are alike jumping on the 412, missing your stop and somehow ending up in the Jewish province of Sweden; you didn't know it existed but now you're here you might as well buy a nice hat. Greshka play music which sounds like the contents of Humphrey Bears suitcase as he departs for a bush doof with his boyfriend. When you attend a Greshka gig you leave with the same feeling as having read a bio which is entirely unrelated to what you wanted to hear, but it was kind of funny and you had a great pie even though the wine was a bit too fruity for your liking.
