Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 14 | Jae Lurman | Jason Lurman | Jason Lurman is a guitarist, songwriter and electronic music producer from New Zealand, most known for being the co-founder and lead guitarist of instrumental post-rock band Sora Shima. Jason's music career began in high school in the mid-90's where he played bass guitar in several Hamilton-based hardcore punk and metalcore bands. By the late-90's, Jason was also producing Drum & Bass and Jungle electronic music on the family computer using the DOS-based Fast Tracker 2 software under the moniker 'distant.' It was these early, simultaneous explorations of rock and electronic music that eventually lead to the concept of an instrumental music project combining both genres - with the original mission statement for Sora Shima being "Mogwai meets Massive Attack" - though the band would largely eschew electronic production for live instrumentation. Sora Shima released several EPs culminating in the 2014 album You Are Surrounded, followed by a lengthy hiatus. In 2011, having transitioned from bass to guitar to guide the creative direction of Sora Shima, still felt the desire to bring a more electronic approach to his songwriting, Jason teamed up with Micah Templeton-Wolfe of Stray Theories to create Gang Violins - initially intended as a side-project for them both, however it has at times been their main musical focus. Jason also made a guest appearance with New Zealand post-rock band Jakob at their concert at the Tuning Fork, Auckland on June 4 2021, playing second guitar on the song Everything All of the Time. Notable achievements of Sora Shima include winning the local Band Experiments competition in 2008, supporting overseas acts including Mono, Broken Social Scene and Sonic Boom (of Spacemen 3 fame), locals Dimmer, Jakob and the Mint Chicks, as well as their music appearing in several international compilations, films, and radio shows (BBC6). Jason is married with 2 children and is a professional Graphic Designer with 20 years experience - having also contributed various logos, covers and imagery for Sora Shima and Gang Violins over the years. |

Search | Add | 13 | Dawn Riding | Oakland, California While songwriter Sarah Rose Janko was growing up waiting tables & watching blues and rock & roll bands in her Dad’s west coast bar, Jasmyn Wong was learning to drum to Riot grrrl records & dancing her way through the underground SF goth scene, and Hall McCann was in the Northeast practicing harmonies to old country classics & sneaking out of the house. They each went on to live in different cities, find friends & temporary homes, travel long distances for love, learn about heartbreak, and eventually land in Oakland, CA, where the tough, lonesome sound of Dawn Riding was born. Though they grew up in separate realities, the ladies of Dawn Riding were all raised by the unapologetic, inclusive, gritty culture of the underground. It’s one of the only ways to explain how they’re a tough-as-nails country-folk trio who are indisputably more punk rock than Americana, and more southern gothic than country. Together they invoke the dark honesty of Lucinda Williams, the close harmonies of the Everly Brothers, and the hypnotic, dreamy overtones of Mazzy Star – a formidable soundtrack to long nights of slow dancing, and true stories of unknown legends. They make music for their friends, their lovers, and the unyielding spirit of the underdog.

After trading some messages and records on the old Vinyl Exchange website, a few pints were consumed and a new band was formed! After about a year of messing around on Pro Tools, a solid catalogue of beats was compiled, and the first beat CD was sent to Demigodz legend MC Rise, who was particularly hard to track in pre social media days. Some detective work and a snail mail later, Rise replied that he liked the beats and the first collaboration for BEs had started to come into existence. Over the years, Phill Most Chill, Chill Rob G, Chubb Rock, AG, RA The Rugged Man, MC Juice and Dooley-O were all partial to the Bankrupt Europeans vibes and all these collaborations materialised on vinyl on Nobody Buys Records.

They enjoyed playing music together in their spare time. After he was discharged from the Army, he met and married Margaret Young and lived in Kingston, OK for 50 years. From his early days, Dale had a burning love for country music, and his desire to pick and sing grew stronger every time he heard the Grand Ole Opry program on the radio. He dreamt of being on that stage someday. One of his biggest influences was Hank Williams. Throughout the years, his talent continued to flourish and he enjoyed entertaining audiences at dances and other gatherings. In 1994, his dream of being on the Grand Ole Opry stage came true when he made a special guest appearance with Jimmy Snow (son of Opry star Hank Snow.) As he stood before the WSM microphone on the Grand Ole Opry House stage, he sang one of his favorite Hank Williams songs, the inspirational, “I Saw The Light.” Dale had many recordings and performed with numerous stars including: Loretta Lynn, George Jones, The Wilburn Brothers, Little Jimmy Dickens, Cal Smith, Jack Green, Jeanne Seeley, David Houston, Bobby Bare, Ernest Tubb, Hank Thompson, Pake McEntire, Jody Miller, Bobby G Rice, Razzy Bailey, Farron Young, Tony Douglas, Mel Tillis and others. Later in his career, he welcomed the opportunity to appear in several movies including "Into the West," "Invincible," and "Soccer Mom." |

Maiden name Solveig Leiditz, daughter of Swedish/Norwegian visual artist Ingegerd Risberg-Leiditz, who also designed some of her record sleeves. Artist name Solveig Löwenhard and later Susanne Löwenhard - since it was easier to pronounce. She was known for songs such as "Kåk i Haga", "Ragnarök" and "Saltstoden", as well as for her children's songs. She managed to make five LPs, of which three for the adult audience and two for children. The children's songs also found their way into the "Klapp och Klang" records, which sold gold and thus gave the songs a very wide distribution. She was also known for her translations from Norwegian, of songs such as "Vi ska inte sova bort sommarnatten" and much more. In addition to her own records, she was active in Visans Vänner in Gothenburg, participating in their compilation album from the 60s (which also collected artists such as Evert Taube and Alf Hambe) and was herself one of the forces behind a later collection in the 70s. her nephew Ingemar Ragnemalm performed with her a couple of times on certain stages in Gothenburg, but around the turn of the millennium she definitely stopped singing. In her last years she lived in Vegahemmet in Gothenburg where she was cared for. Decades of anorexia finally took their toll. Her husband Percy Löwenhard (magician and pianist ”Mr Percy”) had already died a number of years before her. |

In 1954, [a2841190] became manager of the vocal section of the folk music school and established an elite choir, "Folkemusikskolens pigekor" (The Folk Music School's Girls' Choir) based on the core of the children's choir. Search | Add | 13 | Mikel Goodwin | Mikel Goodwin is a New Zealand musician who has been active in the experimental music scene associated with Christchurch label [l=kRkRkRk recordings] since 1994. As well as recording solo material under the moniker [a=Wormwood], he teamed with [a=David Khan] and [a=Peter Wright] as part of the industrial rock group leonard Nimoy. During his time with leonard Nimoy, Goodwin introduced many sonic elements and techniques that would eventually be adopted by Khan and Wright in their solo work, including combining metal percussion with electronic rhythms, using amplified bows on electric guitar, and the building of noise-generating electronic devices. Following the demise of leonard Nimoy in 1997, Goodwin worked with Khan and Wright in the gallery-based improv projects Noumenon & Death In A Nasty Accident, but his most significant collaboration was Flinch, where he and Wright created electric guitar chaos which was combined with percussion and vocals from Justine Sharp. In 2001, the next major collaborative kRkRkRk band saw Goodwin join Khan, Ed Wilson and J-mz Robinson in the industrially-flavoured pop band [a=MiG-21]. A more recent collaboration features Goodwin, Khan, and Rustle Covini under the moniker of zer0.

It all started in early 90s when Boris opened one of the first record stores in Moscow that represented a wide range of electronic music. Three years later he started to run Thursday night at Propaganda club - it soon became synonym of high quality underground music. The night has seen over thousand of international DJs and Live acts such as Steve Bug, Tigerskin, Booka Shade, Guido Schneider, Derrick May, Marco Resmann, Joe Claussell, John Tejada & Arian Leviste, Octave One, Jori Hulkkonen, Alex Under, Maya Jane Coles, Richard Dorfmeister and many more. For 7 years Onlee had weekly DJ residency at Propaganda’s Saturday night which was not accidentally named “Origin”. Having always being inspired by never-ending evolution of electronic music, in 2006 Boris launched his label Lichen Records with releases from russian and international producers including Tigerskin, John Tejada, Chizh, Mike Shannon and Remote. Onlee recently moved to Prague and teamed up in the studio with Téa Wavesword - their debut EP “Disturbed butterflies” will be out on Lichen Records in spring 2015. |
