Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 14 | Drew "Ghosts" Davis | Drew "Ghosts" Davis is an American Industrial Noise musician. As someone with a deep history in the culture, he began making music at a young age under the name Confession 15, which later changed into his main project Lost In A World Of Ghosts, a name which was derived from a collection of lyrics from the Industrial outfit Nine Inch Nails. He also briefly had a Grind project under the name Hayfever which was incredibly short-lived. Although he had made a multitude of releases under Lost In A World Of Ghosts throughout 1995 - 2003, these recordings were never released to the public. In 2020, he befriended Experimental Industrial musician SinThya The Devil, in which they formed the Harsh Noise-Influenced Industrial outfit Velvet Leather Vamptoys. In May of 2021, Davis officially signed on to SinThya's independent label SinThya Music, where a multitude of select tracks from the previously unreleased Lost In A World Of Ghosts would be reworked and released as well as remastered under the label.

Search | Add | 14 | The Sons Of The Purple Sage | The Sons Of The Purple Sage was a Southern California western/cowboy act which had several line-ups with a convoluted murky history. The earliest version of the group came about when Buck Page, who had used the name "Riders Of The Purple Sage" for his own band a decade earlier while playing on the East Coast let Foy Willing use that name for his band (which he did till he passed away in 1978). Page gravitated towards Los Angeles to work in the TV and film industries, and renamed his group "The Sons Of The Purple Sage". It seems like the Sons band worked exclusively for budget-labels who used the band's name to record a number of albums, either because they won it through a business contract and played on the same, or because no one was able to enforce the ownership of the name. There were about a half-dozen albums on labels such as Golden Tone, Tops and Somerset, all released under the Sons Of The Purple Sage, with musicians such as Tex Fletcher and Bob Wheeler, as well cowgirl singer Linna Shane.. Bob Wheeler (leader), Lina Shane, Jean Valli, George Faith, Tony Clayton (Back cover info on S-119 'At Western Campfires ')

The first encounter of this ensemble was in May 1961 in Statler, NYC and the ensemble was originally a sextet. It additionally featured [a354652] on trumpet and [a354654] on tenor saxophone. The first drummer was [a370737], who left the group between August and December 1961 and was replaced by Gus Johnson. Another show was performed on July 23rd, 1961 live on CBS radio show. The group had grown to an Octet and featured additionally [a260723] on trombone and [a1343114] on baritone saxophone. Both, however, was discarded and Woody Herman emphasized the show on clarinet by recording with a quartet (Andrus, Johnson, Pierce and Herman). On August 6th, 1962 the quartet recorded again. However, during the time he was recording with Carlsen for Paramount, he was also pursuing his country roots by performing as a soloist and with the prolific hillbilly team of Frank Welling & John McGhee. During the depression, Teter ceased recording, but continued as a radio host in Wisconsin known as “The Song Doctor.” Keeping himself before the public, Teter was the surprise hit of 1950 with a vocal version of an old jazz standard, “Johnson Rag.” With his group, the Jack Teter Trio, his career was rejuvenated and he enjoyed further success in the early 1950's. He died in 1987.

Search | Add | 14 | Garra Blanca | Garra Blanca (White Claw) is the title given to a barra brava that was created in Chile by the supporters of Santiago based football club Colo-Colo. It is one of the three largest and most important barras bravas in the country, the other beings Universidad de Chile's Los de Abajo (those from below) and Universidad Catolica "Los Cruzados" ("The Cruzaders"). In early 1986 a youth movement gave rise among the various supporters of Colo-Colo imitating the Hooligans. Amid the military regime of Augusto Pinochet, marginalized members of Chilean society decided to unite and form a voice of identity.[1][2] Over the years the group has been associated with widescale violence. Fighting with security personnel, the Chilean national police, and other team barra bravas is a common occurrence. Garra Blanca leaders are reported to have an unofficial relationship with Blanco y Negro, the corporate entity that is in charge of Colo-Colo. The board of directors deny such an alliance and have only stated that the barra brava is recognized for stadium safety reasons.

Search | Add | 14 | E23 | Brian K. Comerford | Best-known for being co-founder of Colorado's longest-running electronic music radio program, Electronic Air on KGNU-FM [kgnu.org], E23 (Brian K. Comerford) has established a sonic-art track record for being a "music worker". His output, as both a DJ and producer, adheres to what he identifies as "illclectronic", often equally informed by electronic dance styles as well as esoteric sound sculptures. Where Electronic Air has largely been an outlet for more conventional electronic dance music and sub-genres, E23's solo and collaborative audio productions have historically tended toward syncopated glitches, droning ambience and art house sound installations. His interest in electronic music began at an early age (the 1976 release of "Sequencer" by Synergy was highly influential, as was the 1968 recording of "Switched-On Bach" by Walter Carlos), and he procured his first synthesizer and electronic drum kit in 1983, coinciding with the standardization of MIDI technology. Beginning original electronic music compositions at the age of 12, he has continued to cultivate sounds primarily in the experimental and underground fringes of electronic music ever since. Citing Throbbing Gristle, Coil, and Psychic TV as major influences, his original works tend to veer between noise, atmospheric, and beat-infused, utilizing numerous samples. He was also a producer in the first wave of Internet Radio. Having co-founded RadioValve.com in the mid-1990s, E23 helped spread the evolution of electronic music and rave culture both on the Web and FM airwaves. He began DJing "Metamorphosis Radio" in 1989 on WPSA-FM at Paul Smith's College, New York, and continued FM broadcast in Texas during 1991-1993 where he also emerged as a club and rave DJ. Relocating to Colorado in 1993 while continuing that work, E23 also began producing a variety of radio programs at KGNU-FM the following year, as well as teaming with Pirate Sound System. The majority of that crew eventuated into the core production team that co-founded KGNU's Electronic Air in 1995, where E23 remained the sole original founding member for over two and a half decades. He additionally co-produces the leadership and technology podcast, >Lead.exe_, and periodically live streams on Twitch. E23 has performed across the state, the nation, and internationally as both a DJ and live producer. He archives many of his mixes on Mixcloud, and selected original tracks on Soundcloud and YouTube. He typically records under his E23 moniker, reserving an alias, Scat, for Hardcore Techno and Dark Ambient productions. Both individually and with long-time collaborator devslashnull, he has produced several collaborative works with lyricist/poet Chris Mosdell (YMO, among many others). He is a member of the "folktop" outfit, OVNI. |

(MAXIMUM ROCK N' ROLL) .... I do believe it's more of a spontaneous generation than an empty trend--new wave smacked on the jagged boulders of garage rock, exploding in a bounty of once-buried treasure.Science experiments gone wrong, psychosis being wrestled with, and dirty electronics used as percussion instruments and then caressed back into a melody. The best of all,the songs are thickly spined and muscled into form by solid songwriting instead of mere shtick. In turn this reminds me of Gary Numan,Joy Division.Good stuff.(RAZORCAKE).... |

Search | Add | 13 | Electric Looking Glass | Electric Looking Glass is a baroque pop group from Los Angeles, California. Expect flash melodies in full harmony, with jangly guitars, whirling Hammond, delicate Mellotron and a fab thumping back beat. Sounds of yesterday and visions of tomorrow; a new reflection in pop. Resplendent in their best Carnaby gear this could easily be mistaken for some vintage footage that turned up in a dusty tin at a California auction house. These guys could have been there when The Byrds took The Beatles on a trip in the valley. The realest deal. ELECTRIC LOOKING GLASS could only be more perfect if, in reality, it’s still 1967 and we really shouldn’t have had the brown acid. What a trip! The last 63 years has just been our subconscious bending our minds, Sgt Pepper is still teaching the band to play, peace and love reign supreme and the future is bright. To Dream A Dream indeed! Fresh off of their recent debut single on Hypnotic Bridge Records, here comes the second single from ELECTRIC LOOKING GLASS via the tastemakers at 13 O’Clock Records. The Los Angeles quartet serve up a double A-sider with a couple of dandy gems loaded with 60’s-style baroque psychedelic flashes and smothered with sugar coated pop-psych goodness! ‘Daffodil Tea Shoppe’ and ‘Dream A Dream’ are both jangly pop songs delivered with all the trimmings, from Mellotron and piano punctuations on to well-crafted vocal harmonies. A confectionery two-sider sure to appease your sweet tooth cravings! Our very own Jon ‘Mojo’ Mills described ELECTRIC LOOKING GLASS as “a wholesome quartet that absolutely nails the baroque and psychedelic pop sounds prevalent on both East and West Coasts during the heady days of 1967-68. Recalls the Left Banke, Curt Boettcher, the Peanut Butter Conspiracy et-al and truly captures the sound” //Shindig Mag

Search | Add | 13 | Nona Yotova | Нона Йотова | Nona Yotova is an actress, singer, poetess, composer of music and a TV presenter. She is among the first to start composing and performing ethno music, which is now already very modern. Her first album with arrangements by Ivan Lechev was produced in 1993 and ever since it has outlined her original, distinctive and unique style, the roots of which lie in the history and mythology of the Bulgarian land. Unlike those, who are satisfied only with using folklore motives and are considered to be ethno performers only because they are singing folk songs with a new arrangement, Nona has penetrated a lot deeper in the so called ethno mystic and it is from there that she derives the motives and the inspiration to write her music. This is also due to the fact that she has inherited her talent from several generations of musicians. It is not mere chance that the archaeological TV show she is the presenter of on Channel 1 of the Bulgarian National Television is called "Terra Incognita". When the musicologist Rose Mary Statelova plays Nona's songs to her students, one of them says that most probably this is the way the wood-nymphs sing. The a cappella version of the song "I'll be begging you", which has been in the Bulgarian National Radio's fund since 1993 is even considered by some people to be a folk song, which is in itself the greatest recognition for a composer and performer. Nona's song "Macedonian Flamenco" has been included in the music textbooks since 2006. Some of the best Bulgarian musicians like Ivan Lechev, Dani Milev, Mihail Shishkov, Kalin Velyov, Mihail Yosifov, Valchan Valchanov and from time to time Teodosy Spasov as a special guest perform in "Nona Band". And finally what is Nona's style? It could be called ethno jazz, New Age Wave and probably the easiest way to name it is World Music. |

Ceasar is also behind another unique concept venue in Beirut ‘The Silver Fatcory’ which is a real operating silverware factory in which he hosts undergound events on a regular basis—back to the basics—a purely industrial venue with just an earth shattering sound system and a bar. |

Search | Add | 13 | Julien Jalâl Al-Din Weiss | Bernard Weis | Alsatian by his father, Swiss by his mother, Bernard Weiss was born in Paris in 1953 and died in Paris January 02, 2015. In the beginning of the Seventies, like many of teenagers of his generation, this guitarist of western classical formation (he entered the " Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris " in 1965) calls in question the values of the Western culture and started to hit the road of the trip. His voyages took him to California, to Morocco, then to the Antilles; that opened his cultural horizons and was given the name Julien by a young Venezuellian woman, Isabelle Sotto, daugther of the founder of kinetic art. When return to France in 1974, he composed several plays for the traditional guitar, and took part in a creation of the Tunisian director Sharif Allaoui. In 1976 in Paris, during a reception at the future minister of the Egyptian culture, Farouk Hosni, the listening to a disc of the Iraqi musician Mounir Bachir, large main of Oud (Oriental lute captivated him so much so that he gave up the traditional guitar and the jazz harmonies to launch out body and soul in the study of the Arab lute and the refined laws governing the Oriental micro tonal music. But very quickly, the limits of the instrument frustrated him and when he discovered the richnesses offered by the Oriental zither " the qanûn " the search of Julien Weiss took all its dimensions. Consequently he crossed the Orient, from Tunis to Beirut, Baghdad to Cairo, Istanbul to Damas, he followed the teaching of great Masters. Thus he became the disciple then the friend of Mounir Bachir in the honor of whom later he composed a " Bagdadian Suite " interpreted at the time of the Festival of Babylon in Iraq. |

Enamored with prolific singer-songwriters / producers like James Blake, Frank Ocean and Bon Iver, Tarune writes, performs and produces his music on his own, entirely from his bedroom studio, embracing imperfections and ambience as his calling card. His intimate and meditative influences seep into every recording. toeing the line between chanty soulful confessionals and melancholy love poems. He invites you into his head with his pared-back production and enveloping cinematic mixes. As a teenager, he learned recording and mixing while engineering a psychology radio-show in NYC and self-educating through experimentation on his laptop. In the years following, he taught himself how to produce and mix, vowing to always record music that felt undeniably organic, often utilizing field recordings & incorporating aspects of narrative sound-design to invite his audience into an even more intimate world. He has also composed scores for short-films and produces for other artists, such as the single "Bed" by Justice Smith. Along with that, he directed and edited his own music video for Goodnight Baby, and produced music videos for the likes of Maya Hawke & Samia. |

Throughout the years, his talent continued to flourish and he enjoyed entertaining audiences at dances and other gatherings. In 1994, his dream of being on the Grand Ole Opry stage came true when he made a special guest appearance with Jimmy Snow (son of Opry star Hank Snow.)
