Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026
Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 10 | LOUCIF | Kabyle Algerian singer originally from Iflissen, Tizi-ouzou (Algeria) and based in France. BIOGRAPHY: Originally from the village Taguercift, commune of Iflissen, in maritime Kabylia, but residing for several years in France, Loucif forged a style of music that he commonly “baptized” the RAF Kabyle. “Rhythm, love and the strength that I feel in Kabylia”, the artist will say to explain the content and origin of this name which, he says, embodies the perceptible values of the country. Furthermore, to return to his last album which already dates from 2006 and entitled "Dda Sliman" in homage to Slimane AZEM, it was released in 2006 in Algeria by Adjlout editions. It is made up of eight songs performed in a captivating way that will even captivate fans of rhythmic songs who will have the opportunity to gorge themselves on this summer hit by the artist. The latter sings, in fact, thizyiwinim, argaz, sars iwalnim, a tiyita, a chikh, da slimane, melthiyi amek ara zewdjegh, and sarhiyi ad ruhagh. It is nevertheless not in vain to note that the singer Loucif embraced his artistic career in 1983 where he began to hum his first melodies before throwing himself into production some time later and signed during the same period, c that is to say during the decade 1980 to 1990, cassettes very coveted at that time in Kabylia in particular. It is, in short, a thrilling work which left its mark on a substantial journey to the extent that the artist was able to get in tune with the rhythmic song of the time of Hamidouche, Fahem and Rabah Asma. The path was really winding but in no way dissuaded Loucif from putting the key under the doormat. On the contrary, he threw himself body and soul into the arena to assert himself in a relatively short time. However, since the beginning of the past decade, it has not put any new cassettes on the market. But it's only a postponement. And for good reason, this nightingale from maritime Kabylia has decided to get back to work and take up his pilgrim's staff with, he says, galas and other shows to reconnect with his audience. Since the release of his last album "Dda Sliman" which dates from 2006, he left us to think that it was a harbinger signifying the ardent desire of the artist to reconquer the scene again... Since then it has been radio silence, unfortunately for us his fans. | |

Per Yngve "Pelle" Ohlin, aka Dead (his stage name with Mayhem). He founded Morbid in 1986, but moved to Norway in 1988 to join Mayhem. Ohlin can be considered as one of the most important characters in the black metal scene as his persona, self-destructive behaviour and underground attitude strongly shaped the way black metal was perceived and together with Øystein Aarseth (aka Euronymous) they very much set the standards for others to follow. Life in Norway with Mayhem became very difficult however and it is rumored that he didn't enjoy this world and Euronymous put a lot of pressure on him, or even bullied him, and he most likely suffered from depression. Ohlin died by suicide on April 8th, 1991 and left a note with the lyrics for "Life Eternal", which were later used on Mayhem's "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" album. |

In 1949 he moved to Toronto to study at the Ontario College of Art (now the Ontario College of Art and Design). After graduating, he began a career in graphics and photography. He moved to Ottawa, ONT, for his first full-time job at Crawley Films where he worked as a graphic artist. In 1956, Don and a partner started their own company called Advertising Art Associates. One of their clients was The Boy Scouts Association of Canada. Don’s connection with the greater drum corps community began in July 1960 when he joined two members of the Optimists executive, Al Baggs and Clare Reid, at a meeting of what was then called the Canadian Trumpet Band Association. As a result of this meeting, he was given a contract to do the artwork and program book for the upcoming championship contest. During his years with [a3887323] (Toronto Optimists and [a3734698]), Don was a photographer, the publicity director and the corps director (more than once). He was also the creator and editor of GCC, Green Capsule Comments with the Toronto Optimists and Gold Capsule Comments with the Seneca Optimists. Don’s cartoons were frequently included in editions of GCC and many were featured in the tabloid newspaper [l2103616] between 1971 and 2000, all of which can be found in the pages of Steve Vickers’ book, “The Art of Drum Corps World.” In addition to his work with the Optimists, he found time to work with both the Ontario and Canadian Drum Corps Associations, serving as a photographer, publicity director and board member. In his spare time he wrote articles for various drum corps publications, produced the artwork for a number of record albums (almost three dozen for the Revere, MA-based Fleetwood label) as well as designing posters and doing the program artwork for a variety of contests. |

| Search | Add | 10 | Harry M. Randel | Recording engineer. Founder of [l502794] and a [l191050] Franchise Associate. {obs.} 574 West Court, Scotch Plains, New Jersey 07076 An article about Harry from Scotch Plains Times dated 25 February 1965 (pp.7 & 17) Ins And Outs About Pressing Records By Ruth B. Gilbert Facing the undeniable fact that my knowledge of electronics equals minus zero, and I wouldn't know an Ampex 620 speaker from an MX 35 mixer, it was with feminine fear and trepidation that I approached 574 West Court in Scotch Plains for an interview with Harry M. Randel. As a representative for Century Records, he operates a Custom Recording Service from his home, handling 70% of the custom school and church recordings in New Jersey. (When an individual or an organization places an order strictly for the use of the participants of the program sponsored by that group, it is known as CUSTOM recording. The records are not for general sale through distributors or record shops.) Fortunately, Mr. Randel is a patient man and accepting my total ignorance in the recording field, he undertook to explain his fascinating vocation with amazing clarity. The path which ultimately led to Harry Randers present occupation is a long one. After graduating from Lehigh University in 1940 from a curriculum of Sales Engineering, he spent a short three months as a statistician with the Pennsylvania Power and Light. In October of that year, he became a member of Uncle Sam's Army, stationed at the Aberdeen Proving Grounds and for three years was the Senior Instructor, Aviation Ordnance. While at Aberdeen, Harry married the former Lillian Boardman and in 1944, their son James was born. Assigned to the 15th Air Force in Italy, Harry was a technical training officer and received the Legion of Merit for overseas technical developments. Following his military service, he joined the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C. as a Professional Radio Engineer. Harry recalls "as an outgrowth of this, we had the 53rd television set in Washington and every neighbor in our apartment converged on us to watch that 5 inch screen." His daughter, Suzanne, was born while the Randels were in the nation's capital. In 1945, Dumont offered Harry an opportunity to go into television. As a remote supervisor, he worked 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, and did the majority of network programs originating from Washington. He told of televising one of President Harry Truman's "fireside chats" one evening. The cameras had been set up early in the afternoon, but after rehearsing with the President, one of them developed trouble. As Harry was frantically making repairs, "some chap tapped me on the shoulder and told me I was doing it all wrong." Startled, Harry turned to find Mr. Truman himself joking with him. Harry left. Dumont in 1955 and there followed a series of positions with ACF Electronics, in Virginia; the N.J. Meter Co. in Plainfleld; Walter Kidde and Co. in Belleville and Universal Toroid Coil Winding Co. in Irvington. His interest in the recording business actually began when his son, Jim, was a child. Harry and Lillian owned a small record cutter and would cut childrens’ records for Jim …. writing the scripts and acting all the parts. When Suzanne came along, they began to put stories for her on a tape recorder. As both children grew, recording their participation in school activities became a natural thing for the Randels. In 1961, the Scotch Plains - Fanwood High School was having its Spring concert ... and since Harry had two children playing usual pattern of bringing into the auditorium his tape recorder and microphone. Here he met Art Brandenburg, Century Records Representative, who was recording the concert with professional equipment. In December of that year, Brandenburg offered Harry a recording franchise with Century and his career was born. The first program the Randels recorded was the Westfield High School Band under the leadership of Robert Banks. They started with two Sony microphones and an Ampex PR 10 professional recorder. Today's mobile operation consists of a console on wheels featuring the Ampex 354 stereo recorder, 10 microphone channels through Ampex mixers and an assortment of professional microphones ... Telefunken, Sony, Sennheiser and Electro-Voice. They are in constant demand whenever quality and legality are the paramount desires of a recording group. This is a joint venture for the Randels, Lillian handles all the paper work, keeps the books and accompanies Harry to all recording sessions where she does the timing for each number. (Not to mention the fact that she is a clerk-typist at the Junior High School library, keeps house, makes her own clothes, knits and enjoys reading in her spare (?) time!). Out of their work has grown HMR Productions, which does commercial recordings for such customers as Warner-Lambert and CIBA (sales training records) and even the sounds of gnawing termites for the radio commercials for Western Termite Control … and of course, Century Custom Recording Service. Doing approximately 60 shows a year, including among many others, the band at Governor Livingston High School in Berkeley Heights, the New Jersey Symphonic Band, Middlesex High and our own Junior and Senior High Schools. Harry does a great deal of work for the New Jersey Music Educators Association. This current school year found him recording the All State Orchestra and Chorus at Atlantic City and at the Mosque Theater in Newark. On February 28th, he will record the All State Band at Hunterdon Central High School in Flemington. Harry feels his most interesting task was with the New Jersey Music Educators' Opera Festival, This is an All State type of program, where students from some 70 to 100 schools throughout the state participate. An opera theme is selected and specific students in participating schools train under the guidance of the music educator in their school. Then on one day in February, close to 1000 students converge on a selected site. There is a single rehearsal for the chorus alone and one for the orchestra alone. This is the first time these students have ever sung or played together and probably the first time they have ever seen the musical director! Later, the two groups combine for a single rehearsal featuring soloists, chorus and orchestra in an integrated program. A polished presentation is given that night to the public. Harry was emphatic in his praise for the music teachers of our New Jersey schools and for the talented youngsters who participate in the program. In a presentation of this size and complexity, the technical knowhow and abundance of professional recording equipment as featured by Century Custom Recording Service really comes into its forte. Harry Randal is indeed fortunate to have his vocation and his vocation one and the same. He would offer his services as a lecturer on audio recording to any interested group in the area. It's impossible to completely cover the legend of Century Custom Recording Service and of the Randels in one feature article. A volume could well be filled with their story. And anyone who doesn't know an Ampex 620 speaker from an MX 35 mixer might find an exploration into the world of electronics to be informative, absorbing and thoroughly delightful! | |

| Search | Add | 10 | Neanox | The project called "Neanox", was another creation of Anton Komanov, guitarist and founder of the band "Skolopendrra". Idea to record atmospheric and with beautiful music came from Anton in summer 2012. From June to October of this year have been recorded four tracks for the debut demo, called "Vacuum". Party of all instruments to him were recorded on "N.E.A studio". In the recording a demo and participated bandmate Denis Trubin after working on drums and participated in the writing of one of tracks. Music of the project is atmospheric and melancholic post-rock with elements of ambient and post-metal. Worth noting and the fact that "Neanox" may be perceived as a soundtrack to any film ever. Acoustic fingering roulades, filled with sadness, some keyboards and atmospheric, drawn-party solo guitar - music, forcing to close eyes and carry away the consciousness away... Neanox: Anton Komanov (guitar, bass, composer) Denis Trubin (drums) Date of formation: June 2012 | |

The first songs he began to write while still at school, the first group with which he began to work at that time was Orient Express. After graduating from school, Andrey Shkolin entered the Krasnoyarsk Civil Engineering Institute. Released in 1993, he records the album “Indian Summer Flirts” and sends it to Moscow, from where it diverges throughout the country. From 1993 to 1999, Andrei Shkolin lived in Western Europe, where he did not study music. In 1999 he returned to Russia, to Krasnoyarsk, where he recorded the album "Comrade Lebed, you are a great scientist", which was not distributed. In 2001, he finished recording the album "You will put your hands on my shoulders." In 2002, a double disc “In a good hour” was released in Moscow and Andrei Shkolin moved to Moscow for permanent residence. In 2003, the album "Siberia" was released. In 2004, Andrey opens his own label "Master Disc Records" and releases a new album. In 2005 he published the magazine "Chanson - free song". |

| Search | Add | 10 | Rosalie James | Singer, songwriter, miserabilist. Rosalie was born in Cornwall, in the far South West of the UK. She had a musical upbringing; her childhood memories are of climbing trees and reading books with an eclectic soundtrack on a bright yellow Sony Walkman including The Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, The Monkees, Steely Dan, The Bangles, Pink Floyd, Elton John, Kate Bush and David Bowie. Rosalie’s father, always a working roadie and musician, toured the US with The Grateful Dead and other bands during the 1970s, creating the belief that life as a musician was always only a small step away. She started learning the piano at 5 and the guitar at 14 and sang to anyone who would listen. Rosalie started out creating song and dance routines to Madonna and Michael Jackson, then grew out of that and spent hours moodily playing guitar along with The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Nirvana, U2, The Lemonheads and REM. Rosalie’s teenage years were spent obsessing over Suede, Blur, Elastica, Sleeper, Pulp, The Divine Comedy and The Longpigs, although she never realised her dream of fronting an indie band or of marrying Evan Dando. She continues to love both the earnest and emotional synthpop and the edgier new wave of the 1980s (Roxy Music, Cocteau Twins, Sparks). In the early 2000s Rosalie began writing and recording in ambient/down-tempo electronica duo Delaware with guitarist and producer Benjamin Morgan, influenced by Zero 7 and Air. Although Delaware played very few gigs, one song ‘I Can Get Out’ was used in US series The Black Donnellys, sparking a life-long ambition to get a song on Grey’s Anatomy. Rosalie has since performed in various bands, building her confidence as a songwriter, pianist and backing singer. She formed pop-folk band All the Fires in 2008 and performed as lead singer in Cornwall and around the UK to a steadily growing and loyal fan base. All the Fires released their debut album ‘Territories’ in 2012 to popular acclaim but the band ended in early 2013 – a subject Rosalie will talk about at length if required to but would much rather leave to your imagination. Rosalie’s work is an unusual mixture of melancholy and mischievousness. Her voice and songs can be heart-breaking, but coupled with a wry, sardonic humour and a propensity for candid on-stage and lyrical revelations about her own mental health (which she self-describes as “a fun combination of autistic traits and EUPD”), religion, heartbreak, television and substance abuse it makes for an interesting show. Rosalie makes no apology for including her own versions of popular hits by Kate Bush, Radiohead, Billy Bragg, The Cure, The Eagles, Nine Inch Nails and many others in her set. These sit comfortably alongside Rosalie’s own compositions, in which the influence of the classic songwriting of the 70s, the 80s’ emotional depth and 90s’ hooky indie melodies can be clearly felt. Rosalie says that she has repeatedly tried to give up music but that it just won’t seem to go away. She is now recording her debut album, which predicts a move towards the atmospheric LA indie/dreampop sound (think Phoebe Bridgers, Cigarettes After Sex, Sharon Van Etten, Lucy Dacus). Her joy in writing and performing both her own and others’ songs is evident and what is guaranteed is that in every performance and every recording, Rosalie gives you a little piece of her accidentally massive heart. | |

Noise is a raw experimental album that features a very lo-fi sound and almost unfinished production, using samples from many tracks of different genres. This sample technique defined his future releases, like No Faces. Released in 2012, No Faces was Alving's second album as The Skull School. On this album, Alving experimented with vocal samples and began to pay more attention to the details, which resulted in a better produced record compared to his debut. The Skull School also made his first video, it was a self-produced video for the track "Le Contrôleur". In 2013, S5 Records merged with Eight Recordings and later that year The Skull School started to work on his third album, High Sounding Waves, which came out on March of 2014. High Sounding Waves represented a big step for The Skull School's carreer because it took his production techniques to a whole new level and improved the quality of the record, and while his other two LPs only contained songs made out of sampes and experimentation, High Sounding Waves was the first Skull School album to feature original compositions along with his signature sample work. On December of that year, The Skull School released a video for the song "Contact (The Report)" and like his first video, it was also produced by Alving Marruffo. Said video received a nomination at the Pepsi Music Awards 2015 in the category Electronic Video of the Year. On October of 2015, The Skull School published This Is The Aftermath, his fourth album, which marks a new beginning that feels like a debut to Alving. In this new album, Alving worked with original compositions on all the tracks and developed a new sound with a large presence of synths and 80s influence, that makes this release a lot more professional and conventional, music wise and production wise. This album is the first to feature guests artists and is his second album released by Eight Recordings. In 2016, The Skull School was nominated again at the Pepsi Music Awards, this time receiving three nominations: Electronic Song of the Year for his song with Maxilar Break Down "Nos Vemos Entonces", Electronic Album of the Year for his fourth album This Is The Aftermath and Electronic Artist of the Year. |
