Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 10 | "Killer Joe" Piro | Frank Piro | Frank "Killer Joe" Piro (2 March 1921 - 5 February 1989) was a dance instructor to high society and popularized steps of the discotheque era of the 1960s and 1970s. In the early fifties, he opened his own studio on 54 West 55th Street in Manhattan, where many in New York's high society came to take dance lessons. Over the decades he taught what would become the mainstays of the discothèque scene: the Mambo, the Cha-cha and the Merengue, then the Twist and later the Frug, the Frog, the Watusi, and the Hully Gully. His students included the Duke of Windsor, Sita Devi Gaekwar - Maharani of Baroda, Dame Margot Fonteyn, Ray Bolger, Luci Baines Johnson, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis and, by 1965, more than a million other Americans via the Emmy award-winning TV show 'That Was the Week That Was.' His fame somehow spread far enough to be photographed by Richard Avedon and to inspire a Filipino guitar band, the Rocky Fellers, to record a tribute tune, "Killer Joe," for Scepter Records in 1963. The record earned the band a spot on the Top 40 pop charts for a few weeks, though it bears more than a passing similarity to the Mickey & Sylvia hit, "Love is Strange." Despite being the undisputed "King of the Discotheque," Piro never opened his own club. Asked why, he replied, "I like things the way they are. I don't want to be watching a cash register, watching the waiters - it would take all the beauty of dancing away from me and I would get old." |

Search | Add | 10 | George Wydell | George Jones Jr. | George Jones (born Oct. 5, 1936, in Richmond, Va., died Sept 27, 2008) moved to the Youngstown area as a child, where his father got work in a steel mill, and spent most of his life in the area. He attended Campbell Memorial High School. After high school, Jones joined the U.S. Air Force, where he sang in a vocal group with other servicemen. He was in the Air Force when he wrote “Rama Lama.” George "Wydell" Jones had been the lead singer for the Edsels. In 1965, after the Edsels disbanded, he started on a short, at least recording wise, career as a solo singer. Since there was already the country George Jones, he went by the name of George Wydell. Jones also managed several gospel music groups in later years, including The Jones Gospel Singers, which was comprised of his family members. |

Search | Add | 10 | Heady Brew | Nashville, Tennessee Formed in 2004, Heady Brew reunited three lifelong friends from a small, sleepy town in south Alabama whose devotion to music culminated in a single purpose: to create a distinct and original form of music drawn from similar and sometimes diverse influences and experiences. The members of Heady Brew have been making music together in one incarnation or combination or another since their teens. Although they’ve traveled many directions geographically and sometimes musically, the common thread has always been the desire to create something original, along with the devotion to the idea of the power of the song. Based in Nashville, TN… Heady Brew is a rock ‘n’ roll band infused with elements of country, and blues. They move with ease from one genre to the next… weaving them together to create a sound distinctly their own.

The Goup began to write their own material focussing upon songs about the Black Country- an area often described as “ all those towns and villages situated on the 30 foot coal seam”. It roughly encompasses Dudley, Cradley Heath, parts of Wolverhampton, Walsall and West Bromwich, in the UK. The Group formed its own show- The Giggetty Black Country Show- which featured the cream of the local guest artists and comedians such as Anuyk and Ayli, Dolly Allen, Tommy Mundon, poets Ron Burns, Harry Harrison, Jim Williams and Geoff Stevens, historian Winston Homer and more latterly the superbly talented Dandy and Black Country stalwart Lizzie Wiggins. The Group gigged their way through three decades at the rate of 100 appearances a year. The last original member, Brian Langtry, retired eventually due to health reasons in 1997

In mid-1992, Andrey Shkolin ended up in a prison in the city of Voronezh, where in cell No. IZ 31/1 a new album “Indian Summer Flirts” was written in a year, which included the song that became the artist’s “calling card” - “Silence Over the Voronezh Prison” . Released in 1993, he records the album “Indian Summer Flirts” and sends it to Moscow, from where it diverges throughout the country. From 1993 to 1999, Andrei Shkolin lived in Western Europe, where he did not study music. In 1999 he returned to Russia, to Krasnoyarsk, where he recorded the album "Comrade Lebed, you are a great scientist", which was not distributed. In 2001, he finished recording the album "You will put your hands on my shoulders." In 2002, a double disc “In a good hour” was released in Moscow and Andrei Shkolin moved to Moscow for permanent residence. In 2003, the album "Siberia" was released. In 2004, Andrey opens his own label "Master Disc Records" and releases a new album. In 2005 he published the magazine "Chanson - free song". |

Search | Add | 10 | Efza | Efza Yordamoğlu, born in 1994, had already started to attract attention with her composition "Hüzün Kokar Bu Şarkı" three years ago. The piece was the first of his painful but rhythmic works that would eventually become associated with her brand. The singer and songwriter, who made every element of his production herself, from recording to mixing, built on this combination and increasingly felt her proximity to Portishead's Beth Gibbons and many other names of the golden age of trip hop. While she was already drawing attention among her contemporaries with the clarity of his artistic direction and self-sufficiency, she also added value with her unique visuals in the setting of Sevdaliza and FKA Twigs. Although this value was noticed, she announced her partnership with Tamar Records, which hosts many of Turkey's most successful underground artists, in her latest single.

Search | Add | 10 | Per Yngve Ohlin | Per Yngve Ohlin | Swedish death/black metal vocalist and songwriter, born January 16, 1969 in Västerhaninge, Sweden, died April 8, 1991 in Kråkstad, Norway by suicide. Per Yngve "Pelle" Ohlin, aka Dead (his stage name with Mayhem). He founded Morbid in 1986, but moved to Norway in 1988 to join Mayhem. Ohlin can be considered as one of the most important characters in the black metal scene as his persona, self-destructive behaviour and underground attitude strongly shaped the way black metal was perceived and together with Øystein Aarseth (aka Euronymous) they very much set the standards for others to follow. Life in Norway with Mayhem became very difficult however and it is rumored that he didn't enjoy this world and Euronymous put a lot of pressure on him, or even bullied him, and he most likely suffered from depression. Ohlin died by suicide on April 8th, 1991 and left a note with the lyrics for "Life Eternal", which were later used on Mayhem's "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas" album. |

With her interest in how the sounds she loves were created, she started to build up her own homestudio. Marlena found herself in a wild mix of AOR (adult-orientated rock), Hi-NRG and New German Wave. For that, she does not only rely on digital means, but also uses original analogue equipment, which is crucial to her authentic vintage sound. For the label [l=Last Forever Music] and the music publisher Nightline Publishing, Marlena works under the name of her own edition called Crystal Line Music. Besides ghostwriting songs for other musicians, she also released her German debut single ‚Das Schwarz in meinem Licht‘ in 2021, followed by ‚Heut bin ich so stark‘. In 2022 she released the Hi-NRG hit [r=22301059], which became the start of her international success. Her style was heavily influenced by artists such as [a=Stevie Nicks], [a=Pat Benatar] and the German Pop duo [a=Cora]. [a=Bobby Orlando] also counts to her favourite music producers and inspirations.
