Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025

Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 LadyLau Laura Ten Hoedt LadyLau was born January 13th 1985 as Laura ten Hoedt in IJsselstein, as youngest of three kids. At a very early age it was obvious that she had a musical talent. When she was four, she could sing along with chansons on the radio in perfect phonetic French. At the age of nine, her parents encouraged her to take keyboard lessons. After a couple of years she decided to switch to the piano, which offered her even more abilities to play. At seventeen, she started with singing lessons. Music soon became a very big part of her life, in school (where she took extra music courses) and outside school. First she amused herself (and her family and neighbours) with playing and singing existing pop songs, later she started writing her own songs. Music became her passion and a way of letting her feelings out. When the moment came for her to choose a college, she searched for a way to combine her interest in psychology and her passion for music. She found that combination in music therapy, at the School of the Arts in Enschede, where she started studying in 2003. During the four years of study, she got to work with several client populations, such as geriatrics and youth psychiatry. She successfully graduated in June 2007 and is now one of the first Bachelors of Music Therapy in Holland. All the while she expanded her musical repertoire, in music styles as in instruments. She sang classical, musical and jazz pieces and trained her improvising skills in singing, piano playing and on percussion instruments. In her free time she participated in an amateur musical production (Musical Madness) and was a soprano for the gospel choir Benediction (Enschede) for 3,5 years. Through the internet she met other musicians as well and thanks to one of them (Joop de Rooij), she got the opportunity to record a professional demo at Joost van den Broek’s homestudio. In December 2006 she went to the studio to record four of her own compositions. These songs were released on the demo ‘EP1’. Since the release of the demo, several musicians approached her to join in on different projects: 'Elemental Journey' (NL), 'VoXager' (Germany) and ‘Escapedia’ (Norway). She's also participated in the tribute bands 'Team of Passion' (Stream of Passion fanmeet, January 2007) and 'Ayreonotes' (Ayreon fanmeet, September 2007) and worked together with Ian Parry and the Consortium Project. In January ’08 she joined the stage with Arjen Lucassen and Marjan Welman for a surprise acoustic performance at Velvet Music Store Delft. In September ’08 she hit the stage as keyboard player for the band Dial at IJsselpop. As a solo artist, LadyLau has performed at several stages in Holland, such as De Pul in Uden, Felix Meritis in Amsterdam, Grand Café Vyssotski Amersfoort and the Fulco Theatre in IJsselstein. She performed at several festivals, Lorelei Festival, Willems Wondere Weiland, Kultjurloop, De Kei van Amersfoort and Gluren bij de Buren. Her most memorable performance was the livingroomconcert at famous Dutch singer Marco Borsato's home. In February 2009, LadyLau released her first album “Sense” herself (under a Creative Commons license). This concept album speaks about the senses: how misunderstandings arise in communication when people don’t listen well and mix up audio-oriented and visual-oriented messages. It’s about how every sense can be experienced as a stand-alone signal. And how, if you’ve heard those stories on the album, all those senses together can give you an experience that arises above the sum of the five.

Search Add 2 The Last Day Of Winter The Last Day Of Winter are a Portuguese post-rock band from Ovar, it consists of [a7874909] on guitar, [a7874930] on bass and [a7874929] on drums. Born and developed by elements of many distinct and distant musical, social and artistic movements, but always with the common goal to fight and defeat inertia and musical conservatism of their own environment, and after a long period of rehearsals and failed formations, The Last Day of Winter managed to find their own identity and, finally, move on to the studio and record all of what they had absorbed. Endowed with a melancholic density and dissonant gestures, a distorted and introspective approach, we are invited to take a stroll through the universe of some of the most influential band of experimentalism and post-rock of our days, showing us that sometimes the vocal melody can be a purely figurative element in musical composition.

Search Add 2 Chelsea O'Donnell Stress Dolls is the moniker of Chelsea O'Donnell, a songwriter from Buffalo, NY. The project's sound has drawn such comparisons as "Joni Mitchell meets Nirvana," "Avril Lavigne and Foo Fighters in a blender," and "Kathleen Hanna fronting Modest Mouse." O'Donnell began playing around Western New York in 2013, initially calling herself Wolf and eventually forming a band. After releasing one EP, the group went through a few different line-ups and, in time, changed their name to Stress Dolls. The band released a self-titled EP in the Fall of 2016, which they recorded earlier that year at GCR Audio. Due to differing pursuits the band split in early 2017, but O'Donnell decided to keep playing under the name Stress Dolls. She made a move to Nashville, TN but was there only 6 months before chronic health issues - Crohn's disease and gastroparesis- sent her to the hospital to undergo a feeding tube procedure. Following the surgery she moved back to Buffalo, and after a period of recovery, began writing, performing, and recording again. Largely due to the tentative nature of her health, O'Donnell established Stress Dolls as a solo act in order to go at her own pace. In early 2022 she was invited to work with producer Jim Wirt (Fiona Apple, Something Corporate, Incubus) at Superior Sound Studios in Cleveland, OH. After recording a few songs together, including her singles "Body" and "Alone," she was offered a record deal with Sun Pedal Recordings. After signing, Wirt and O'Donnell recorded several more tracks that went on to comprise her debut album, Queen of No, released in May 2024. In 2025, O'Donnell founded her own record label, Angry Girl Music, and reissued Queen of No to streaming services. Currently, Stress Dolls takes on several forms live: solo with O'Donnell and her acoustic guitar; as a duo when joined by longtime collaborator Sally Schaefer on violin; or as a band when combined with members TJ Luckman (bass), Jordan Smith (lead guitar), and Josh English (drums). In its many iterations, Stress Dolls has shared stages with such acts as USS, Shonen Knife, We Are Scientists, Dan Andriano and Matt Pryor, Tommy Stinson, and Our Lady Peace, and has toured regionally throughout New York state, the Midwest, and Southern Ontario. In addition to Stress Dolls, O'Donnell is also one half of Urge Surfer, an electro-pop duo that includes Stress Dolls guitarist Jordan Smith. The pair began writing songs via email during the tail end of the pandemic and have released 1 album (REACH) and 1 EP (Alphabet Archive) since.

Search Add 2 Echoes Fade "We are Echoes Fade, a four-piece metalcore project made up of an All-Star lineup of local New England talent! The band began with life-long friends Chance “Hammah” Hudson (Voluntary Victim) who takes Vocal/Frontman duties and Alex Brady “Brady” on the Drums/Vocals. In 2021 we took it up a notch recruiting our brothers Chantz Mello (The Last King) & Frank Carolan (Voluntary Victim) to take on the Lead/Rhythm guitar duties. Brady and Chance grew up together in Lynn, Massachusetts and have been playing in bands together since they were 12 years old. After a few years of struggling to find members who were the right fit, we decided to form our current band Echoes Fade on our own. Choosing this path gave us opportunities to work close with the all the best and most talented local/internet musicians while we were in search for our permanent members. But in our current era we have become the strongest we have ever been. Finally having a solid group of songwriters has been a game changer!" (Echoes Fade, 2024).

Search Add 2 Dann Garner Dann Garner From 1991 Promo Release text: Dann's career began in his teens playing on a local radio station, singing ballads taught to him by his father who played a guitar and sang with his eight children. Dann began playing clubs and shows and at the outdoor music park. "Lake Compounce". He played with the "Cowboy Caravan" and sang many of the country ballads as his specialty. He entertained in the New England area with is seven-piece house band; played back up music for many famous Nashville artists including Willie Nelson, Ray Price, Elton Britt and the Browns, which enhanced his desire to continue to play music professionally. While touring with the band of "Claude Gray and the Greymen" he performed in Texas, the Midwest and Florida. Throughout his career, his versatility led him to stage performance, conducting his own band, making commercials, broadcast videos, as well as being an accomplished vocalist. After graduation from Hartford University with honors in electronics, he continued playing music and singing while he worked in the electronics field. His profession took him to Florida where he was booked at many night spots and country clubs entertaining in the categories of MOR, country and pop. He continued his music education at a Florida College where he studied Piano and Music theory with Dr. Illena Fernandez. In the fall of 1987 he was invited to sing at the 16th international Steel Guitar Convention in St. Louis, Missouri, with well know steel guitarist and producer Jimmie L. Crawford and the "Steel Guitars of Europe", which was composed of Koos Biel (Holland), Andre Sommers (Holland), Niles Tuxen (West Germany/Denmark), and Gerry Hogan (England). He recorded some of his own compositions while in New England and has continued to write and record his original songs on 45's, albums, and cassettes. In addition to his own selections he recorded other original songs while in Nashville. A single, "Somebody's Rockin' Gibraltar" was charted on the National Charts Top 100 and Cashbox Country Single Chart. "Walking Through My Dreams" also made the top 100 chart and was the 1 Pick Hits for three weeks and moved to #1 for two weeks on a Portsmouth, Ohio radio station WPAY. The Dreams of Love album, released in 1988, includes both of the above singles and standards by Elvis Presley, Roy Orbison, Nat King Cole and others. Due to Dann's striking likeness of Roy Orbison in both looks and voice, he has recorded a new album soon to be released titled "Dan Garner Sings Roy Orbison" for the US and European Distribution. He has recently been featured on the cover of Britain's top-selling Country Music Newspaper, "International Country Music News", published in Derby, England, and is being featured on forthcoming tours in the United Kingdom and throughout Europe. He recently completed a 30-day contract in Copenhagen, Denmark, singing "A Tribute to Roy Orbison". His recent song "Rainy Night in Copenhagen" was inspired while performing in Denmark.

In the early days, BBC Radio Stoke signed off their evening programme with a musical recording by The Daleian Singers. Search Add 2 The Amber Quills The Amber Quills formed in 1982 in west London. The band was made up of four friends who had met at school – Neil Hughes (bass), Dave Jones (drums), Tim Blakey (guitar) and Michael Burdett (vocals and guitar). Encouraged by the interest of record companies, they spent months in rehearsal, honing their material. But when it came to recording, they didn’t complete any final mixes of the songs because they ran out of studio time. They also never performed live because Michael developed stage fright and within a year the band was no more. Michael chose a musical career that was out of the spotlight, writing TV theme tunes and music for adverts. Neil, Dave and Tim all went on to join other bands. The master tapes from their studio sessions remained in Michael’s storage unit for nearly 40 years until a flood in 2020 destroyed most of what was stored there. Although so much of Michael’s archive had gone, the loss of the Amber Quills tapes bothered him most as he’d always vowed to finish the songs. Eventually, he found a company that could dry and restore the multi-track tapes, and getting them back spurred him into action. Over the years, Michael had worked with some of the best people in the music industry. So, when he went back into the studio with the restored tapes, he got them involved. The first track to be released is Chords and Candies.

Search Add 2 The Insane Slave The Insane Slave is a rock band from Oporto city (Portugal) formed in 2008. Characterized by an original sound and a “rockipolar” personality, they’re inspired by an entire musical universe and settle their vital pillars on the “rock n'rollesque” philosophy. After hitting the road in 2010 setting foot on several stages and winning a considerable number of garage band contests, in 2011 they released their first record, "The Night Rider EP", which earned them appreciable reviews by the national and international press, as well as a tour from North to South of the country, and the first incursion beyond borders, in the cities of London and Northampton in England. February 2018 marks the return of The Insane Slave with the release of their first "Long Play". The homonymous album recorded in the studios of Raising Legends and produced by André Matos, was conceived with a conceptual theme, where along the 10 tracks that compose the album the story of Jack (the insane slave) uncurls as if it were a book. The Insane Slave are: Freddie on Drums, André on Bass, Alex on Guitar and César on Guitar and Voice.
