Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 14 | Mark Corrin | Mark Corrin | The solo project of Mark Corrin, Liverpool born, Manchester based writer, producer & radio broadcaster. Formerly know as Shirokuma, and as a member of Octobuse and Poppycock. Currently presents a weekly radio show for Salford City Radio 94.4FM. Also plays bass for Rose & The Diamond Hand. Has also previously collaborated with the likes of Can's Damo Suzuki, The Fall / Blue Orchid's Una Baines, Max Tundra and Andy Votel and assists with the running of Manchester's Valentine Records. The songs presented here are generally downtempo, melodic and experimental with surrealist lyrics, catchy melodies and short song lengths. The playful and varied musical backings are woven from electronic and organic sound sources and are influenced by psychedelia, world music, cinema and folk. For a bit of history…Mark Corrin's early demo CDRs as Shirokuma made him a regular favourite on John Peel’s BBC Radio 1 Show for the final five years of its broadcast (1999 – 2004). Rob Da Bank and FloMotion’s Nick Luscombe continue to be radio supporters, whilst Shirokuma was made single of the week by both Steve Lamacq and Phil Jupitus during their time at BBC 6 Music. A debut album “Secret Moves At The Midnight Chess Club” was released via Manchester label Faith & Hope records in 2005, which yielded a joint NME single of the week, “Moonlight In The Afternoon”. The track, which the paper curiously confessed “makes us want to have sex in dressing-up clothes”, was also remixed by Max Tundra (Domino Records) and Andy Votel (Twisted Nerve \ B-Music \ Finders Keepers). An EP on Twisted Nerve records came next, before Shirokuma began working with the Manchester electronic & future rock label Valentine Records. Mark Corrin is also very active on the Manchester underground live music scene. |

Search | Add | 14 | The Buzzards of Fuzz | Buzzard Custard (2014 - 2015) The Buzzards of Fuzz (Originally Uncle Van & The Buzzards of Fuzz) are a Desert Rock outfit from Atlanta, Georgia hatched in 2014 and founded by Van Bassman and Benjamin J. Davidow after the dissolution of Uncle Van’s Super Awesome Family Fun Band. The group’s name, a nod to the character' 'Buzzard from Dr. Hunter S. Thompson’s book Hell’s Angels , was meant to change every six months but the idea was scrapped as it was deemed too confusing to follow. Initially the rhythm section included Matt Irvin (Spore Lord , Order of The Owl ) on bass and Zachary Batson on drums. Irvin left the project early on to focus on Spore Lord and was replaced by Chuck Wiles prior to recording any material. In August of 2014 the band began recording at 'LedBelly Sound Studio in Dawsonville, Georgia with Matthew Washburn (Mastodon , Artemis Piledriver). These sessions produced their first EP, Buzzard Custard . The cover art for Buzzard Custard was designed by Lauren Monger (Terrible Terrible Terrible , Vice ). Dr. Thompson appears in the background of the Buzzard Custard cover along with Feather Locklear, TBOF’s bird mascot of sorts. 200 Copies of Buzzard Custard were released on Compact Disc under the name Uncle Van & The Buzzards of Fuzz March 19th 2015. Search | Add | 14 | Mateusz Morawski | Mateusz Morawski is a Polish musician, composer, producer, guitarist and graphical designer. His music is a mixture of electronic, metal, progressive and breakbeat. He is also designer of all music related artwork, promo materials and videos. * Early career (1996 – 2009) Influenced by PC/Amiga demoscene he started to record first sample-based compositions on his Amstrad 286 PC computer on 4-channel music tracker software. After a few years of experience with multichannel trackers, around 2002 he started to play the electric guitar and made his initial demo guitar recordings on PC multitrack audio software. For the next 7 years he learned music production techniques and developed musical production approach and equipment. * Music releases (2010 – present) Mateusz started to release first tracks independently in 2010 on myspace, later on last.fm and soundcloud under Creative Commons license. Among several published compositions in electronic and metal genres, he considers “Type1a” from 2011 as his first single. It was a classical chillout tune inspired by Tschaikovsky and Mussorgsky symphonies, but produced with electronic instruments. In 2012 he released 2 tracks. “Pursuit Milestone One” explored more breakbeat areas as inspired by The Prodigy and Noisia, while “Doggerland” turned into progressive metal with electronic flavor by including influences from Tool prog metal band. On July 2013 “Doggerland” track was featured as a soundtrack to youtube video “5 Of The Most Gruesome Medieval Torture Devices” on BuzzFeed channel with half million views. In March 2014 Mateusz released a new progressive electronic track titled “Dogger Plant”. According to reviews it sounded like a combination of electronic and film music with similarities to Juno Reactor music for The Matrix Reloaded movie. December 2014 brought a release of a “Hards” hardcore techno single and video. It was a first finished song composed in early tracker times in 1996. It was re-mastered and released eventually after 18 years. His latest single “Higgs Boson Army” is a further development of style introduced on "Dogger Plant". Besides of psychedelic and symphonic structures it also consists of influences from Chemical Brothers and Vangelis works.

Being a mixture of British and Spanish descent, it could be said that Ed Flow has been nurtured by the best of both worlds in the Electronic music scene. Jesse Saunders wrote regarding one of Ed’s tracks; ‘Rain, is an exquisitely, beautiful production bringing sound effects, synthetics and hallowed voices to produce a soundscape unparalleled.’ Ed is currently re-launching his own label ‘Soultrade Records’, which will provide us with exquisite monthly releases starting from the month of October 2013. The first of these releases will be ‘Basic Element’ a progressive instrumental that will serve the appetites of both House and Breakbeat lovers alike. Search | Add | 14 | Johnny Puleo | Johnny Puleo (October 7, 1907 - May 3, 1983) was an American musician and actor, who specialized in playing the harmonica. Born a dwarf in Washington, DC (he stood 4 feet 6 inches or 1.37 meters as an adult), he worked as a newspaper seller until being discovered at a contest in Boston held by bandleader [a=Borrah Minevitch], of [a=The Harmonica Rascals]. Soon he joined a comedy variety act, during which time he learned the art of pantomime that has contributed so much to his success. He then joined [a=The Harmonica Rascals], with whom he toured the world. In 1941 Johnny tried to leave the [a=The Harmonica Rascals] and start his own group. The entire new group moved in with Johnny's parents, living and rehearsing in the basement. It did not last long, though, because [a=Borrah Minevitch] found them and got them working for him again. After Minevitch's death in 1955, Puleo formed his own band, [a=Johnny Puleo And His Harmonica Gang]. He recorded various albums with the Gang and solo on the Audio Fidelity label, as well as acting in several films, most notably Trapeze (film). The Harmonica Gang appeared at top supper clubs throughout USA, including the famous "Latin Quarter" (nightclub) in New York and Miami Beach; The “Riviera” in Las Vegas; “Palmer House” in Chicago; “The Roosevelt” in New Orleans and “Twin Coaches” in Pittsburgh and venues like the Moulin Rouge and London Palladium overseas. Johnny also appeared in Milwaukee Wisconsin where he met local band leader Conrad Johns and upon meeting Puleo, Conrad's 5-year-old son Steven said "Hey, I'm as tall as you." Johnny just smiled and said, "And that's as tall as you're ever going to get if you keep crackin' jokes like this." Puleo and his five-member band released a series of high-energy light-pop LPs on the [l=Audio Fidelity] label. His first album was the first LP to released in a single-tone-arm stereo format in 1958. More (at least seven) [l=Audio Fidelity] albums followed well into the 1960s. One of his (and their) best performances is "Sabre Dance." He died of a heart attack at Holy Cross Hospital in his native Washington D.C. in 1983.

Search | Add | 14 | Hernan Rivera Unzueta | Hernán Rivera Unzueta | (b. 1930 - d. 2010) Born in the beautiful region of Totora in 1930, eminent thinkers have emerged from this beautiful region. Totora is a city and municipality of Bolivia, capital of the José Carrasco province in the department of Cochabamba, is located 142 km east of the city of Cochabamba, at an altitude of 2,300 meters above sea level. It is characterized by its buildings with a colonial and republican architecture, with its undulating roofs, where the movie "The Day the Silence Died" was filmed in 1998, when entering it is the first thing that impacts the visitor, from there important ones have also emerged intellectuals such as the writer Dr. Augusto Guzmán Martínez, Armando Soriano Badani and so many illustrious Toreños. There, precisely, the figure of Don Hernán Rivera Unzueta arises, who from a very young age had to work helping his mother for daily bread, without a formal education took advantage of his ability first, playing the harmonium, then with the piano and finally the accordion, was a music teacher since 1947, at the La Paz and Martin Mostajo school for girls in the city of Totora, after several years of experience as a teacher he decided to travel to the city of La Paz in search of of better opportunities. The 60s' opened the "Hernán Rivera Unzueta Accordion Academy", which operated on Ingavi street between Yana-cocha and Junín in the city of La Paz, half a block from Plaza Murillo, recorded 8 discs among small and LPs of unmistakable style, he had the only accordion that had come to Bolivia, with 185 blue bass Hohner brand, dedicating his successes to his beloved Totora whom he always carried in his heart, recording songs like: “Friend”, “Red Carnations” , "Curahuara de Carangas", "Decepción", "El minero", "Los pajarillos", "Noches de Sucre", "Tus miradas" and other songs, which are classic in the accordion performance of Don Hernán Rivera. Accordion teacher, composer and pedagogue, he founded the American School which to this day is still active, with primary and secondary cycles, then opened a private University having educated several generations of young people. Thanks to his vocation to musical art, he created the “National Piano Festival”. This event has been declared by law 4113 as Cultural Heritage of Bolivia, it is held annually in the town of Totora, a Festival that bears his name as a tribute to his meritorious career. Last year 2015 the XII version was held where pianists from all over the country attended, about 160 contestants participated, Master Rivera was decorated, with distinctions for Artistic and Cultural Merit, and was also declared "Favorite Son of Totora". Don Hernán Rivera Unzueta died on February 3, 2010 at the age of 80 in the city of Cochabamba. The Accordion has had important interpreters such as: Macario Pinto in Cbba., Víctor Hugo Zegada from the "Los Planetas" Ensemble, Dulfredo Peñaranda, Pepito Fernández and Oscar Rojas Caballero from the "Los Brillantes" ensemble, Hugo Daza, Jo-sé Barba del "Oriental Trio", Julio Rodrí-guez Berrios of "Los Ases Andinos". |

His main instruments, after his voice, were clarinet and saxophone. Harold was part of several bands. He also was in the band for the New York World's Fair in 1939-1940. Emburgh was featured on the RCA Radiotron Varieties on WEAF, New York, and other programs and sometimes sang duets with contralto Welcome Lewis and soprano Margaret Daum. Search | Add | 14 | Cayuga's Waiters | A Capella singing group. The Waiters formed as a subset of the Cornell University Glee Club in 1949 and debuted at the Glee Club's 1950 Junior Week concert. Although dressed in standard Glee Club attire (a tuxedo), they distinguished themselves from other Glee Club members by draping towels over their arms—a visual pun on their ensemble's name. Their repertoire included such popular songs as "Mood Indigo", "Mandy", "Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye", and "Lord, If I Get My Ticket". By 1951, the group had become much in demand on campus for singing engagements, and they were also enthusiastically received by audiences when on tour with the Glee Club. In 1953, the Waiters conducted their first independent tour—to Bermuda's Harbor Castle Hotel—over the winter holidays, and in the same year, they recorded and cut their first record. In 1956, the Waiters decided they could no longer split their efforts between choral and small group singing and disassociated from the Glee Club. Both organizations went on to enjoy success throughout the remainder of the 20th century. The group was suspended and then "permanently dismissed" by Cornell in 2017 as a result of hazing incidents.

Search | Add | 14 | The Hideous North | Eric North | Founded in 1999 in bassist/experimentalist Eric North’s studio apartment in a suburb of Milwaukee, WI., The Hideous North was primarily a studio project. After his sophomore album ‘If It Sings Like You Do’ in 2001, North began to employ the help of other musicians, mostly for live performances. His album output remained primarily himself recording as a multi-instrumentalist, though accompanying performers started to became more frequent after 2003’s ‘Background Music For Foreground Times’. In 2004 Eric North released both ‘The Nidus’ and ‘Dive’ - with the former initially released without the Hideous North moniker. Later versions of it were released as The Hideous North. 2005’s ‘Your Mother Called & Said She Doesn’t Love You’ marked the last album of new material from The Hideous North, though the band remained intermittently active through about 2012. A retrospective compilation album of re-recorded selections from The Hideous North’s prior discography [‘Recollected | 1999 - 2005’] was officially released in 2017, after a four year hiatus. In 2020 The Hideous North (rather silently) reissued its entire five album discography individually as “2020 Definitive Archive Editions”, wherein each album’s tracklist was reformatted, restored, reduced and/or expanded to include every track that was initially intended for the album in its original conception. With that intent, these CD editions contain a significant amount of previously unreleased material, remastered and re-recorded tracks (many of the same versions that previously appeared on ‘Recollected’), and extended auto-biographical liner notes. As of 2022, The Hideous North remains disbanded, with no announced plans to release new material. Classic Lineup (roughly 2004 through 2012) [a=Eric North (2)] - bass guitar, lead vocals Bernard Cronin - electric guitars, backing vocals Ceril Crume - percussion [a=Rebecca Dresden] - piano/keyboards [2006 thru 2008] |

Search | Add | 14 | Maskk | Maskk | Maskk starts in the "Illegal rave scene" around mid '90 in Rome. The arrival of various tribes in Italy was what brought him closer to the Teknivals and Rave circuit. The step from been a raver to be a Dj didn't last long as he then soon started mixing records. In 1998 he is one of the founder of the sound "against" system called Kernel Panik, which it is what will bring him to travel all across Europe. Following this, his music takes him to the South American continent, precisely in Argentina and Brasil. Maskk in fact, will depart in 2006 with KERNEL PANIK for the epic SOUTH SIDE MISSION which lasted until 2008 and took them around the Latin continent organizing festivals and free parties. Soon after, along with mixing records, he starts to play live-sets. His firsts productions, even done on magnetic tapes, which are basically music-tapes are dated around the year 2000. Afterwards he will move onto CD-R to then arrive to produce many vinyls, most of them produced by the same Kernel Panik, apart for his last and the one before, CATCH THE MOUSE (2013) that were produced by Hydrophonic records, and out again in November 2013 on AUDIOTRIX label with the work together with Ixindamix called DON'T PANIK and made a live project with her. In December 2014 comes out the new work from Maskk and Ixindamix called DAMAGE CONTROL on Hydrophonic records and in the same month Maskk produces with Kernelpanik the KK08 called TOO MANY KIDS. In September 2015 comes out his first digital release called CHAQUE FOIS. In March 2016 comes out with his second personal EP on vinyl called MENU'ESPEZIAL on Hydrophonic records. Always in the same time Maskk is on Hydrophonic 26 with his tracks C'EST PARELILLE and MINDZ , track released also in the ARTISTS IN ACTION COMPILATION on Bandcamp. In June 2016 Maskk is out again with his new release called CALL ME A TAXI. In July 2016. In the last years he has been playing in many different places, from big rave parties like "BORDELL 23" to "TEQUINOX PARTY" always organized by Kernel Panik and others epic european crews, big festival to many Social centers and squats around all the peninsula, to then arrive to play every week in clubs/disco and festivals of many european cities. Not to forget his presence, always as a music maker and DJ, to many Street Parades, Million Marjuana march, World/Gay pride, Festivals and first of all the huge and famous Glastonbury Festival in UK. |

Search | Add | 14 | Correl Hewitt | Jamaican artist, guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer and studio engineer. Born in Royal Flat, Manchester, Jamaica, he is the younger brother of Lascelles Hewitt, cousin of [a=Ernest Ranglin], and father of [a=Natel]. He started to play guitar as a youth (his father was a guitarist) and in early 1980s he played for the Thunder Bolt band in Mandeville. Then he moved to Ocho Rios to find a job in the north coast hotels, and get hired as a guitarist. He formed his first band with [a=Leebert "Gibby" Morrison] from 809 Band, [a=Winston Anderson], a keyboard player and singer called Thatch Hat. That band was the resident band at Buccaneer Cascade for three years. Then they were the first band that played at Jamaica Grande Hotel and played for people like Totlin Jackson, Archie Lewis, ET Webster, AJ Brown and many more. Hewitt became a household name on the north coast as a top musician. He worked with great local and international musicians and producers, including Jack Ruby, UB40, and the Rolling Stones (the guitar on the picture was a gift from Keith Richards). After playing music for 25 years on the north coast, Hewitt moved back to Royal Flat and built the Culture Park complex that has an art gallery where Hewitt showcases his paintings, a restaurant and bar with a stage area, and a recording studio. He formed the Breeze Band, using some of the youths around the area, playing live band sessions.

Search | Add | 14 | Haris Čizmić | Dorian Grey | Haris Cizmic formed his first band in 1995 but he hit the music industry in a big way in 2009 when he won the title of Hard Rock's Ambassador of Rock for the year, got signed and released his third and most progressive album by date. That was a good year for Haris in many ways: he released his “Ingray” project, performed with national and international acts and shot several music videos. However, this wasn’t the culmination of his career, in fact that was just the beginning. It was during this time that Haris started exploring other music styles and genres. He started using his own name, as opposed to his previous projects Ingray, Axa, and Therion. Not that these bands weren’t successful, quite the opposite; each groups boasts their own international awards and recognitions. Most importantly, at that time, Haris began a new career and found himself writing and producing for other musicians, as well as recording and performing as a solo artist. Of course he’s had the support of great musicians, like Dave Dupuie, Rocquell Wallace, and others, who appear alongside him in his new work and at live shows. And so, after years of eclectic Euro/American metal mixed with blues, pop, rock, electronic and ethnic music, Haris is officially in new territory as he explores neo-industrial grounds, acoustic rock, electronic goa and film music scores. In 2011 Haris was asked to arrange and perform the soundtrack for "One Last Call", an independent short film that won numerous festival awards. In addition to his work on the soundtrack for the film, Haris also assisted with script writing, video editing, special effects and postproduction in his Detroit-based studio. His work on “One Last Call” wasn’t Haris’ first time working in the film industry; his first movie score was almost ten years earlier, in 2002, for "Escaping Otis" which premiered at the Sundance Festival that year. Haris owes much of his success to other artists who have inspired him, like Tom Waits and Danzig. These artists have helped Haris realize that the production is also part of the song and it's feeling. He doesn’t force everything to sound big and clean, but rather he uses the way it sounds as a part of the song, for a more authentic and organic sound. Haris is also an awarded creative designer and artist. Catch Haris Cizmic’s music videos and songs on television and radio both in the US and Europe. Among his latest releases are "the Worst of - first 20 years" (2015), and a single "Breathe in Water" (2016) |
