Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025
Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 14 | The Hideous North | Eric North | Founded in 1999 in bassist/experimentalist Eric North’s studio apartment in a suburb of Milwaukee, WI., The Hideous North was primarily a studio project. After his sophomore album ‘If It Sings Like You Do’ in 2001, North began to employ the help of other musicians, mostly for live performances. His album output remained primarily himself recording as a multi-instrumentalist, though accompanying performers started to became more frequent after 2003’s ‘Background Music For Foreground Times’. In 2004 Eric North released both ‘The Nidus’ and ‘Dive’ - with the former initially released without the Hideous North moniker. Later versions of it were released as The Hideous North. 2005’s ‘Your Mother Called & Said She Doesn’t Love You’ marked the last album of new material from The Hideous North, though the band remained intermittently active through about 2012. A retrospective compilation album of re-recorded selections from The Hideous North’s prior discography [‘Recollected | 1999 - 2005’] was officially released in 2017, after a four year hiatus. In 2020 The Hideous North (rather silently) reissued its entire five album discography individually as “2020 Definitive Archive Editions”, wherein each album’s tracklist was reformatted, restored, reduced and/or expanded to include every track that was initially intended for the album in its original conception. With that intent, these CD editions contain a significant amount of previously unreleased material, remastered and re-recorded tracks (many of the same versions that previously appeared on ‘Recollected’), and extended auto-biographical liner notes. As of 2022, The Hideous North remains disbanded, with no announced plans to release new material. Classic Lineup (roughly 2004 through 2012) [a=Eric North (2)] - bass guitar, lead vocals Bernard Cronin - electric guitars, backing vocals Ceril Crume - percussion [a=Rebecca Dresden] - piano/keyboards [2006 thru 2008] |

| Search | Add | 14 | Mateusz Morawski | Mateusz Morawski is a Polish musician, composer, producer, guitarist and graphical designer. His music is a mixture of electronic, metal, progressive and breakbeat. He is also designer of all music related artwork, promo materials and videos. * Early career (1996 – 2009) Influenced by PC/Amiga demoscene he started to record first sample-based compositions on his Amstrad 286 PC computer on 4-channel music tracker software. After a few years of experience with multichannel trackers, around 2002 he started to play the electric guitar and made his initial demo guitar recordings on PC multitrack audio software. For the next 7 years he learned music production techniques and developed musical production approach and equipment. * Music releases (2010 – present) Mateusz started to release first tracks independently in 2010 on myspace, later on last.fm and soundcloud under Creative Commons license. Among several published compositions in electronic and metal genres, he considers “Type1a” from 2011 as his first single. It was a classical chillout tune inspired by Tschaikovsky and Mussorgsky symphonies, but produced with electronic instruments. In 2012 he released 2 tracks. “Pursuit Milestone One” explored more breakbeat areas as inspired by The Prodigy and Noisia, while “Doggerland” turned into progressive metal with electronic flavor by including influences from Tool prog metal band. On July 2013 “Doggerland” track was featured as a soundtrack to youtube video “5 Of The Most Gruesome Medieval Torture Devices” on BuzzFeed channel with half million views. In March 2014 Mateusz released a new progressive electronic track titled “Dogger Plant”. According to reviews it sounded like a combination of electronic and film music with similarities to Juno Reactor music for The Matrix Reloaded movie. December 2014 brought a release of a “Hards” hardcore techno single and video. It was a first finished song composed in early tracker times in 1996. It was re-mastered and released eventually after 18 years. His latest single “Higgs Boson Army” is a further development of style introduced on "Dogger Plant". Besides of psychedelic and symphonic structures it also consists of influences from Chemical Brothers and Vangelis works. | |

Whether they're exploring minimal electronica on 2018's "MOTIF", or exploring their ADHD on the sample heavy single "Grip" from 2019, what is impossible to say is that they aren't ambitious. Since their first punk release in 2017, they've released music every year following in varying styles and genres. |

| Search | Add | 14 | Jae Lurman | Jason Lurman | Jason Lurman is a guitarist, songwriter and electronic music producer from New Zealand, most known for being the co-founder and lead guitarist of instrumental post-rock band Sora Shima. Jason's music career began in high school in the mid-90's where he played bass guitar in several Hamilton-based hardcore punk and metalcore bands. By the late-90's, Jason was also producing Drum & Bass and Jungle electronic music on the family computer using the DOS-based Fast Tracker 2 software under the moniker 'distant.' It was these early, simultaneous explorations of rock and electronic music that eventually lead to the concept of an instrumental music project combining both genres - with the original mission statement for Sora Shima being "Mogwai meets Massive Attack" - though the band would largely eschew electronic production for live instrumentation. Sora Shima released several EPs culminating in the 2014 album You Are Surrounded, followed by a lengthy hiatus. In 2011, having transitioned from bass to guitar to guide the creative direction of Sora Shima, still felt the desire to bring a more electronic approach to his songwriting, Jason teamed up with Micah Templeton-Wolfe of Stray Theories to create Gang Violins - initially intended as a side-project for them both, however it has at times been their main musical focus. Jason also made a guest appearance with New Zealand post-rock band Jakob at their concert at the Tuning Fork, Auckland on June 4 2021, playing second guitar on the song Everything All of the Time. Notable achievements of Sora Shima include winning the local Band Experiments competition in 2008, supporting overseas acts including Mono, Broken Social Scene and Sonic Boom (of Spacemen 3 fame), locals Dimmer, Jakob and the Mint Chicks, as well as their music appearing in several international compilations, films, and radio shows (BBC6). Jason is married with 2 children and is a professional Graphic Designer with 20 years experience - having also contributed various logos, covers and imagery for Sora Shima and Gang Violins over the years. |

| Search | Add | 14 | Cayuga's Waiters | A Capella singing group. The Waiters formed as a subset of the Cornell University Glee Club in 1949 and debuted at the Glee Club's 1950 Junior Week concert. Although dressed in standard Glee Club attire (a tuxedo), they distinguished themselves from other Glee Club members by draping towels over their arms—a visual pun on their ensemble's name. Their repertoire included such popular songs as "Mood Indigo", "Mandy", "Ev'ry Time We Say Goodbye", and "Lord, If I Get My Ticket". By 1951, the group had become much in demand on campus for singing engagements, and they were also enthusiastically received by audiences when on tour with the Glee Club. In 1953, the Waiters conducted their first independent tour—to Bermuda's Harbor Castle Hotel—over the winter holidays, and in the same year, they recorded and cut their first record. In 1956, the Waiters decided they could no longer split their efforts between choral and small group singing and disassociated from the Glee Club. Both organizations went on to enjoy success throughout the remainder of the 20th century. The group was suspended and then "permanently dismissed" by Cornell in 2017 as a result of hazing incidents. | |

| Search | Add | 14 | Иван Жадан | Иван Данилович Жадан | Ukrainian, later American, tenor vocalist (born September 9, 1902, Lugansk, Ukraine – died February 15, 1995, St. John, Virgin Islands, USA). Born into a family of factory workers, Ivan Jadan learned the trade of blacksmith, but began singing in a church choir. During military service, he became the first singer of the regiment and joined a vocal group that performed operatic arias. In 1923, with a recommendation from Stalin's friend, Marshal Voroshilov, he was accepted into the Moscow Conservatory. Working as a blacksmith instructor at the air force academy to make ends meet, Jadan had his first chance to perform on the radio in 1926. A year later, he was accepted into the Bolshoi's operatic studio, then directed by Konstantin S. Stanislavky. In July 1928, he was hired by the Bolshoi Theater, first as singer of supporting roles, soon as a soloist, performing, for example, the "Song of the Indian Guest" in Rimsky-Korskov's opera "Sadko" and the role of Prince Sinodal in Anton Rubinstein's opera “Demon” (1929). Other leading roles include Werther in Jules Massenet's opera "Werther" and Lensky in Pyotr Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin." Jadan toured all over the Soviet Union. Between 1928 and 1937, he also recorded more than a dozen operatic arias and Russian romances for a number of Soviet labels. In 1935, he and several other Russian artists successfully toured Turkey where the first president of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, presented him with a golden cigarette case. In 1937, Jadan enjoyed a huge triumph as Lensky in Riga, Latvia. He extended his stay so that he could perform in "Faust" and "Rigoletto" as well, and the Soviet ambassador to Latvia arranged for him to have his costumes for these roles flown to Riga on a special plane. Jadan's subsequent request, however, to extend his stay even more so he could also perform in neighboring Estonia and Lithuania was denied. Jadan fell into disfavor with Stalin, was no longer invited to the Kremlin, received lowered concert wages, and was allowed to sing only in "Eugene Onegin" and "Demon" from then on. The final break, however, came in 1941. Jadan had evacuated his family from Moscow to his dacha in Manikhino, east of Leningrad, when the village was caught in the German advance. Facing certain deportation to a Gulag if he remained in Manikhino, Jadan and his family followed the German army's retreat. In 1943 and 1944, he made a few recordings for the German [l=Polydor] label in Berlin. In November 1944, he performed at a concert for the Russian Liberation Army that Nazi Germany had formed out of Soviet prisoners of war. After the war, Jadan and his family ended up as displaced persons in Offenbach/Main. In 1948, he managed to immigrate to the United States. He was unable, however, to resume his singing career. He gave a few concerts before mostly Russian audiences, including one in Carnegie Hall. Then he moved the warmer climate of Florida, where he, accompanied by pianist Adela H. Gonzmart, gave a series of concerts between 1952 and 1954. The concerts were recorded by the [l=Sadko] label, but a comeback eluded him. In 1955, he relocated to St. John in the Virgin Islands, where he worked as mason on one of the Rockefeller farms. He gave his last concert on St. John in January 1966. |

| Search | Add | 14 | Wasscass | Alexander Starnell | Wasscass (*1977) - also known as al cutter in the early days - is a DJ,producer and head of the label “Klangklar records” from Stuttgart, Germany. His motto until today: underground. Records from Tommi Stumpff, Nitzer Ebb, Front Line Assembly and cubic22 from Berlin introduced him into the world of electronic music. The era of EBM and Techno was born. While the Frontpage magazine promoted East Berlin’s Tekknozid parties, the acid house sound from clubs like Ufo, Walfisch or Tresor could not compete with Frankfurt’s trance sound from DJ Dag and Co that Wasscass saw so much more potential in. He bought his first turntables and mixer in 1992, kicking off his DJ career in August 1993 with his very own gig as al cutter in club Cindy in Tübingen. Wasscass started the evening with a massive 15 minute intro followed by a 6-hour gabba and hardcore set. Meeting Sven Väth in the early 90s in Stuttgart’s No. 1 techno club Oz opened the door for a gig at 1994’s Futuresonic party, where Wasscass performeda highly successful set with 4 decks simultaneously. Another milestone was about to follow in 1999, when the famous DJ and producer opened his first own club that was about to rule the nightlife in Southern Germany for the following years. After closing, Wasscass retired from DJing until 2007, coming back even bigger with numerous gigs around the world in Europe and the US. He showed his versatility at the 2008 trance convention in Brasil, marking another peak in his career when playing the kaZantip festival. Wasscass started producing own tracks in 1996, reflecting his passion for underground far from the standard stuff. While playing finest sounds in clubs and radio, he was however never determined to a certain genre.By now Wasscass is the mastermind behind several projects of all kinds of styles - melting synthi sounds with electro beats and all bearing his special signature: underground |

He then served with the Navy aboard the USS Grackle, where he was a member of the Frogmen team. He retired from the service as a Lieutenant JG. At the age of 12, his musical career began when he formed and led his own 12-piece band, the Cliff Duphiney Orchestra, which played throughout Westchester County, N.Y. Following his stint in the Navy, he formed a trio called "My Three Sons," and played nightclubs throughout the country including the Sahara and Thunderbird hotels in Las Vegas. During his childhood, he developed a love for horses which continued throughout his life. During his career as a professional musician, he also rode the rodeo circuit and worked as a stuntman in movies which lead to his show name, "Cowboy at the Keyboard." His performance at the organ keyboard so impressed the Hammond Organ Co. that it provided him with a custom-built organ and gave his performance the title "Sounds Impossible." Cliff went on to make several RCA recordings of his organ music and vocals. After 10 years on the professional circuit, he was ready for a slower pace and came to Waterville where he performed at the Ferris Arms Hotel. There he met his future wife, the former Judy Shorey. They married on Sept. 24, 1967, and hit the road together with his organ and two horses, his stunt horse, Babe, and Judy's wedding gift, an Arabian horse named Jude whom he often rode in local parades. They traveled for a year to finish out Cliff's professional contract before settling in Fairfield. Their daughter Kellie was born Sept. 2, 1968. The family's Fairfield Riverside Ranch was known for its stable of magnificent Arabian horses. Cliff continued his musical career for many years in the state of Maine at such places as the Jed Prouty Tavern in Bucksport, The Carriage Inn in Pittsfield, The Silent Woman in Waterville, the Augusta House, the Country Loft in Troy and the American Legion in Waterville as well as many others. As a child he had taken art lessons as well as music lessons and in the late 1970s, while still working as an entertainer, he again picked up a paint brush and mastered his portrait skills. He soon opened Judy's Art Gallery in Fairfield and began giving art lessons and music lessons. In the past several years, he has done portraits of many famous performers and politicians. Cliff was a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Western Artists Association, and the Arabian Horse Association. | |

| Search | Add | 14 | Johnny Puleo | Johnny Puleo (October 7, 1907 - May 3, 1983) was an American musician and actor, who specialized in playing the harmonica. Born a dwarf in Washington, DC (he stood 4 feet 6 inches or 1.37 meters as an adult), he worked as a newspaper seller until being discovered at a contest in Boston held by bandleader [a=Borrah Minevitch], of [a=The Harmonica Rascals]. Soon he joined a comedy variety act, during which time he learned the art of pantomime that has contributed so much to his success. He then joined [a=The Harmonica Rascals], with whom he toured the world. In 1941 Johnny tried to leave the [a=The Harmonica Rascals] and start his own group. The entire new group moved in with Johnny's parents, living and rehearsing in the basement. It did not last long, though, because [a=Borrah Minevitch] found them and got them working for him again. After Minevitch's death in 1955, Puleo formed his own band, [a=Johnny Puleo And His Harmonica Gang]. He recorded various albums with the Gang and solo on the Audio Fidelity label, as well as acting in several films, most notably Trapeze (film). The Harmonica Gang appeared at top supper clubs throughout USA, including the famous "Latin Quarter" (nightclub) in New York and Miami Beach; The “Riviera” in Las Vegas; “Palmer House” in Chicago; “The Roosevelt” in New Orleans and “Twin Coaches” in Pittsburgh and venues like the Moulin Rouge and London Palladium overseas. Johnny also appeared in Milwaukee Wisconsin where he met local band leader Conrad Johns and upon meeting Puleo, Conrad's 5-year-old son Steven said "Hey, I'm as tall as you." Johnny just smiled and said, "And that's as tall as you're ever going to get if you keep crackin' jokes like this." Puleo and his five-member band released a series of high-energy light-pop LPs on the [l=Audio Fidelity] label. His first album was the first LP to released in a single-tone-arm stereo format in 1958. More (at least seven) [l=Audio Fidelity] albums followed well into the 1960s. One of his (and their) best performances is "Sabre Dance." He died of a heart attack at Holy Cross Hospital in his native Washington D.C. in 1983. | |

| Search | Add | 14 | Denny Bellens | Denny Bellens | Denny Bellens aka Black Buddha or dBell, was born in the summer of 1980 in Bangkok, Thailand. He arrived in Belgium when he was 12 and continues to reside here, the place he is proud to call home. Music has been his passion since he was a child, he was attracted by two styles of music, The first one being, punk and the other, simply House. Already the young Buddha was talking enthusiastically about the desire to combine these two giants of music into one glorious mix. Just as an experiment, or maybe, just out of pure curiosity, it was to prove a turning point for the young Denny. However, To become member of the popular school groups, you had to have listened to one style of music only? This of course wasn't the written law, but the way he saw it he didn't have a choice. Denny would befriend all the musicians he could, in order to find the inspiration he so desperately needed, he would need to play by these rules. Pressure from his peers and the inability to make this choice meant that Denny was totally alone in this almost unheard of musical change, but he knew that it could change, and he would one day be the one to change the face of what we know as popular music and also to create diversity into what had become a segregated music policy. For him it was ok to be attracted by so many different styles of music and create some kind of crossover. This was the message he needed to share. However this would not prove to be easy and Denny would spend the next few years alone trying these new and radical ideas out in the privacy of his own small studio. It was after this, that he would become fascinated with Dance, soul, and mainstream pop, he started to hear the sound that he was searching for. When he was 15, he joined his brother and other friends as they went out to clubs. This atmosphere drew him even deeper toward House and Dance songs. From that moment, he decided to become DJ. A few years later, when he was 23, he bought a turntable from a friend. This was his real first step toward finally bringing his unique style of music to the masses. After a while, he got the break he needed an opportunity to become a DJ in Club Dodge. Denny enjoyed his small following of kids, who believed in what he was trying to do. His collection of vinyl's expanded very fast. At this time another club in the area 'Club Boccaccio' had organized a DJ Contest, Denny would not did only participate, but won this DJ Contest, practically sweeping all the dull and mundane competition away!! After winning this special event, he was contacted by Club Illusion and he became Resident DJ at Club DeLite. In 2008 he participated the Bonzai Reworx Contest. He didn't win this one, but his remix was officially released on Bonzai Reworx. One year later, his first EP was released on Decibel NYC. Denny was starting to realize his dream, and his following were growing even stronger, this was the start of his revolution! When Club DeLite finally closed there doors, due to whatever reason, he had more time to work on his own productions. Releasing his music this way was much harder, but he still continued. Not long ago, he contacted more active people in the industry and some interesting projects are in progress. His only goal is to release music he loves and spread his music, his style. |

Formerly know as Shirokuma, and as a member of Octobuse and Poppycock. Currently presents a weekly radio show for Salford City Radio 94.4FM. Also plays bass for Rose & The Diamond Hand. Has also previously collaborated with the likes of Can's Damo Suzuki, The Fall / Blue Orchid's Una Baines, Max Tundra and Andy Votel and assists with the running of Manchester's Valentine Records. The songs presented here are generally downtempo, melodic and experimental with surrealist lyrics, catchy melodies and short song lengths. The playful and varied musical backings are woven from electronic and organic sound sources and are influenced by psychedelia, world music, cinema and folk. For a bit of history…Mark Corrin's early demo CDRs as Shirokuma made him a regular favourite on John Peel’s BBC Radio 1 Show for the final five years of its broadcast (1999 – 2004). Rob Da Bank and FloMotion’s Nick Luscombe continue to be radio supporters, whilst Shirokuma was made single of the week by both Steve Lamacq and Phil Jupitus during their time at BBC 6 Music. A debut album “Secret Moves At The Midnight Chess Club” was released via Manchester label Faith & Hope records in 2005, which yielded a joint NME single of the week, “Moonlight In The Afternoon”. The track, which the paper curiously confessed “makes us want to have sex in dressing-up clothes”, was also remixed by Max Tundra (Domino Records) and Andy Votel (Twisted Nerve \ B-Music \ Finders Keepers). An EP on Twisted Nerve records came next, before Shirokuma began working with the Manchester electronic & future rock label Valentine Records. Mark Corrin is also very active on the Manchester underground live music scene. |

| Search | Add | 14 | Julien Jalâl Al-Din Weiss | Bernard Weis | Alsatian by his father, Swiss by his mother, Bernard Weiss was born in Paris in 1953 and died in Paris January 02, 2015. In the beginning of the Seventies, like many of teenagers of his generation, this guitarist of western classical formation (he entered the " Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris " in 1965) calls in question the values of the Western culture and started to hit the road of the trip. His voyages took him to California, to Morocco, then to the Antilles; that opened his cultural horizons and was given the name Julien by a young Venezuellian woman, Isabelle Sotto, daugther of the founder of kinetic art. When return to France in 1974, he composed several plays for the traditional guitar, and took part in a creation of the Tunisian director Sharif Allaoui. In 1976 in Paris, during a reception at the future minister of the Egyptian culture, Farouk Hosni, the listening to a disc of the Iraqi musician Mounir Bachir, large main of Oud (Oriental lute captivated him so much so that he gave up the traditional guitar and the jazz harmonies to launch out body and soul in the study of the Arab lute and the refined laws governing the Oriental micro tonal music. But very quickly, the limits of the instrument frustrated him and when he discovered the richnesses offered by the Oriental zither " the qanûn " the search of Julien Weiss took all its dimensions. Consequently he crossed the Orient, from Tunis to Beirut, Baghdad to Cairo, Istanbul to Damas, he followed the teaching of great Masters. Thus he became the disciple then the friend of Mounir Bachir in the honor of whom later he composed a " Bagdadian Suite " interpreted at the time of the Festival of Babylon in Iraq. |
