Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | Toebow | Toebow was born in Brooklyn in 2013 as a duo, evolving and expanding over the years into a formidable 5-piece band. Described by one reviewer as “a nice dose of shapeshifting, complex art pop” (Brooklyn Vegan), the music of Toebow shimmers with fluttering distorted guitar lines, colorfully layered percussion and bass, tight vocal harmonies, lush synth lines, and the occasional drum machine to tie the gentle chaos neatly together. Wacky by nature but severe in execution, Toebow "artfully straddles the border between sincerity and goofiness” (ThrdCoast) yet their songs often confront the more stoic and somber realms of experience.

His music is the product of experiments with strange new sounds that drift in and out of the realms of Techno and House, laced with Motor City nuances reflective of the city which fuels his inspiration. After DJing in and around Detroit since early 2011, TK merged his love for performance, electronic music and culture with his techno-logical obsessions to ultimately share his ideas and connect with others on the dance floor. |

Search | Add | 5 | Guy Blakeman | Guy Jasper Blakeman | Guy Blakeman (1911-1992). Born in Metcalfe County, Kentucky, and learned to play the fiddle at a young age. In 1927, he came to Cincinnati to work in a factory. When the Depression hit in 1929, he lost his job but was able to get a job playing fiddle on WCKY with a group called the Bluegrass Serenaders (the name referred to the state of Kentucky, as bluegrass music had not yet been invented). In the 1930s, with Roland Gaines and Jerry Behrens, he was a member of the Range Riders, a group that moved back and forth between WCKY and KMOX in St. Louis, eventually landing at Renfro Valley, Kentucky in 1940. There, John Lair changed their name to the Mountain Rangers. Blakeman was in various groups over the years, including the Prairie Ramblers at WLW on the Midwestern Hayride in 1950. He participated in at least one of Larry Sunbrock’s infamous fiddle contests, this one at the Carthage Fairgrounds in Cincinnati in 1945, where he competed against Clayton McMichen, Natchee the Indian, and Fiddling Red Herron. He was the National Fiddling Champion in 1952, which he capitalized upon by recording two 78 rpm records on Cincinnati’s Gateway label in that year and one on the unlikely Chess label using the old Bluegrass Serenaders name. In 1979, he participated on an LP which honored Cincinnati area traditional musicians. In 1982, he put out an EP of fiddle tunes on the Musique label in Loveland. He was around the Cincinnati area for many years and had an influence on country and bluegrass fiddlers who came after him. |

Search | Add | 5 | The Snorks | Snorks was a children's animated television series created by Belgian cartoonist [a=Nicolas Broca] (1932—1993), with four seasons and 65 episodes aired in the United States on the NBC network and in syndication between September 1984 and March 1989. A commercial failure in American broadcast, the show performed significantly better in the international distribution, gaining a limited "cult following" years later. Between 2012 and 2016, Warner Archive released all four seasons on DVD, and the show was partially available on the [l=Hulu] streaming platform. Intricately connected to an acclaimed Smurfs cartoon series launched in 1981, the "Snorks" ran concurrently on the same television network for five years. Freddy Monnickendam (b. 1954), the creator of both shows, first joined prolific Belgian comic publisher [l=Dupuis] in 1977, where he soon negotiated a licensing deal for the company's flagship series, renowned [a=Peyo]'s graphic novel "Smurfs," for [m=241756] album by French singer [a=Pierre Kartner] on [l=Decca]/[l=Polydor]. Freddy then got promoted to the head of the SEPP International division responsible for the "Smurfs" merchandising. He established a fruitful partnership with [l=Hanna-Barbera Productions] and [l=3M France], launching an eponymous children's animated TV series for National Broadcasting Company, one of the "Big Three" American networks, in September 1981. Even though Smurfs was an instant smashing hit and one of NBC's primetime offerings for the children's audience, [a=Peyo] and Freddy constantly clashed over creative differences, royalties distribution, and every possible contract clause during lengthy negotiations, culminating in Peyo's lawsuit against Monnickendam shortly after the show's premiere. Thus, the Snorks originated as a direct competitor to "Smurfs," devised by Monnickendam as a payback to Peyo; Freddy was confident he could easily repeat the same "recipe for success" by sourcing another comic series in Europe with a more agreeable author and licensing it to NBC via [l=Hanna Barbera]. In early 1982, he found just the right match — Snorks, a new comic book self-published by Belgian cartoonist Nic Broca and portraying "snorks" — brightly-colored anthropomorphic sea creatures. Fundamentally similar to "Smurfs," the aspiring publication differed enough to attract the same audience while avoiding plagiarism accusations. Broca agreed to sell television rights to SEPP, and Freddy immediately began working on a pilot episode for NBC with [a=William Hanna & Joseph Barbera]. The Snorks premiered on NBC on Saturday, 15th September 1984 — the same day as the fourth season of "Smurfs" — featuring a prolific cast of voiceover actors: [a=Michael Bell], [a=Brian Cummings (6)], [a=B.J. Ward], [a=Nancy Cartwright], [a=Barry Gordon], [a=Rob Paulsen], and [a=Frank Welker]. Despite all promotional efforts, the Snorks never gained audience ratings and commercial profits even remotely comparable to "Smurfs," discontinued in March 1989 after four seasons. The show's declining ratings cost Monnickendam his showrunner contract with [l=Hanna Barbera] (his former partners co-produced the final two seasons of "Smurfs" with Lafig S.A. instead) and ultimately led to SEPP's dissolution.

Search | Add | 5 | Zainab Majid | Zainab Majid, was born in 1936 from a pakistani parentage. She was a student of Raffles Girls' School and was a nurse at the School Health Institute. In the mid 1950s, Zainab had participated in a local talentime and had won the first placing. Zainab who was capable in singing English and malay songs was also an expert in hindustani and tamil songs. She was then offered to make a recording to sing malay songs with the hindustani beat which was very popular in the 1950s. During the recordings, Zainab was accompanied by Ahmad Jaafar Orchestra and Ahmad Wan Yet Orchestra on different recording dates. Most of the songs that were recorded were mainly cover songs from the popular hindi films. It was believed that the lyrics were mostly written by the singer S.Hamid. Among her popular songs were Kau Dihatiku, Kechantikan and Kita Bersama. Zainab also sang duet with Razak Majid in songs such as Alam Impian and Penggoda Hati. Beside singging hindustani beat, Zainab also did a Rock n' Roll tune which called Siapa Dia. Soon she became the competitor with established singer like R.Azmi who was famous in singing the same genre. Competition was seen when both sang the same song called Sampaikan Salam. In the early 1960s, Zainab had joined the all chinese girls band called The Blue Belles. The group which was formed in 1959, decided to have another singer into the band. Zainab Majid will always be remembered of her part in contributing malay songs in hindustani tune in the mid 1950s.

Search | Add | 5 | Bruce Munro | British artist Bruce Munro is best known for immersive large-scale light-based installations inspired largely by his interest in shared human experience. Recording ideas and images in sketchbooks has been his practice for over 30 years. By this means he has captured his responses to stimuli such as music, literature, science, and the world around him for reference, reflection, and subject matter. This tendency has been combined with a liking for components and an inventive urge for reuse, coupled with career training in manufacture of light. As a result Munro produces both monumental temporary experiential artworks as well as intimate story-pieces.

Search | Add | 5 | Thorn Apple | Thorn Apple is a group of musicians who get together to create down-tempo / trip-hop / ambient music with personal and emotional lyrics. The project started in the winter of 2000. The result was stirring the embers - a collection of covers originally by Eurythmics, Gary Numan, Foo Fighters, Roxy Music, The The, Cyndi Lauper and more. 2001 yielded an ambitious collaboration with more than a dozen artists. Crystalline combined the talents of Axoe, Bloodwire, Dia, Fonta Hadley, Halou, Peter Harrison, Hungry Lucy, and Andrew Lindsay into a cohesive and extremely moving collection. 2002 was the most abitious project yet: gradient is a 2 volume adventure through many seemingly diverse and contradictory styles, but somehow, it all works! The artists who participated in the previous years were accompanied by Astral, Charlotte Brewster, Brad Clark, Chris Gill, Shannon Moe, Trigger10d, Shannon Whitley, ZnF, and a chihuahua named DoeDoe.

The Joe Fedorchak Orchestra's original sound and style has become a trademark of Cleveland-Style orchestras in the Penn-Ohio area. Joe began studying accordion at the age of nine and was performing professionally with the Polka Serenaders and Musical Aces orchestras by the late 1940s. Joe’s compositions include Little Slugger's Polka, Helvak's Waltz, Jodie’s Waltz, Grandpa John’s Polka, and one of his biggest hits, Blue Lady, written for his late wife, Blue. He uses an unending array of sources, including layerying of clicks and drones, dense tones sculptures, glitch-inspired rhythms, simple and melancholic melodies, intricate found sound-patterns and ultra-detailed textures to create a strange world of lush atmospheres and synaptic panoramas that is entirely his own. Search | Add | 5 | José Moriche | José Fernández De Alba | José Moriche was a Spanish singer born on August 31, 1890 in Burguillos del Cerro (Badajoz), Spain. José Moriche made his debut at the Teatro Real in Madrid in 1918, obtaining a resounding success with “El Barbero de Sevilla”. José Rabanal Santander affirms that Moriche lived in Barcelona, from where we suppose he would travel to his hometown and Badajoz. He soon formed an opera company and embarked for Cuba where apparently things should not have gone very well. It is at that moment when he decides to sing alone or in a duet, obtaining a resounding success that forces him to travel throughout the southern cone, recording for the best record companies. He performed in Mexico and Cuba, and then in New York where he is called upon to record popular songs. In 1923 he began recordings in the company of the Colombian Víctor Justiniano Rosales, for the Gennett label, then he made duets from 1925 with Antonio Utrera, Margarita Cueto, Arturo Patiño, Juan Pulido, Rodolfo Hoyos, Pilar Arcos, and Laura Magaña among others. Moriche recorded on labels such as Victor, Brunswick and Columbia. One of the most famous duos was the one formed with Guty Cárdenas. In the last years of his life, Moriche set up a restaurant on Long Island, and there he used to perform romances, operatic arias, and heartfelt folk songs while serving the clientele. Moriche's fame was so great that he was selected to accompany Carlos Gardel in the movie “El Tango en Broadway” as an actor, with a prominent role. José Moriche became a kind of myth. All attempts to know how the days of that tenor ended have been useless. |
