Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 5 Ncomfortable Nicolò Vairo Producer, Sound Engineer, Drum Programming Maniac, Records Collector, Ganja Smokah. Ncomfortable, real name Nicolò Vairo, is an Italian producer from Turin, Italy. In love with music since an early age in the early 2000s he got in touch with electronic music and the discovery of acts such as Aphex Twin and Photek was really influential to him. Around 2007 thanks to a dodgy version of Reason 3 he began his journey into music production, cutting teeth on many genres, slowly moving from playing in his bedroom to illegal rave parties. In 2012, back to Italy after 1 year spent living in London, the project Ncomfortable was officially born with the idea of making deep, breakbeat based music. After years of hard work to improve his craft and defining his style, Ncomfortable remained loyal to his aestethic and his weird blend of jungle, hip hop and idm started to getting him noticed in the Italian bass music scene and his releases on BNC Expess and Dissected Culture LTD received supports from all across Europe, USA and Latin America. Back to his hometown after 4 years spent in Mexico, 2016 looks great for Ncomfortable so far with his first release on wax ( Route 1 Audio Vol. 2 ) and a bunch of tunes forthcoming on well respected Italian and European labels.

Search Add 5 60 Cycle 60 Cycle was an American rock band from Los Angeles, California, United States, formed in 1993. The band's line-up included founder and principal songwriter Joey Rubenstein (lead vocals, guitar), Troy Van Leeuwen (guitar, backing vocals), Glen Vagas (bass guitar,), and Kelli Scott (drums). 60 Cycle developed a style of power pop/punk music and was known for its unique melodic song craft and tight live performances. Before disbanding in 1996, the group released one self-titled record produced by Josh Abraham. The band contributed a song titled "Strapper" to the soundtrack of the 1998 film Boogie Boy starring Joan Jett and Traci Lords. After the group's demise, Van Leeuwen and Scott went on to tour with the band Failure while Rubenstein joined the group Fluorescein. Both of these outfits garnered major label recording contracts and moderate touring success. Rubenstein later developed a career as a composer for film and television while Van Leeuwen went on to play with notable acts such as A Perfect Circle and Queens of the Stone Age.

Search Add 5 Charivari Trio The Charivari Trio was established in 1986 and initially played a broad repertory of folk music. Gradually, the trio developed a special preference for gipsy and Latin American music. Between 1989 and 1995, the trio formed the heart of tango orchestra Nachtschade and klezmer group Kalarash. Since 1992, various composers such as Joop van Erven, Dolf de Kinkelder, Michiel Braam, and Joep Everts, were commissioned to write new repertory. The trio organizes the yearly Charivarifestival with concerts and workshops for amateur musicians. After ten years of Charivari, a selection of their repertory appeared on the CD Romance de Barrio. Subsequently, Hora Sentimental was delivered, a collage of traditional and new Eastern European music. The CD ¡ABRE! consists of a mixture of Latin American and gipsy music. The Charivari Trio took part in several theater productions, such as Ethisch Reveil, after a text by Dirkje Kuik, with theater group InDependance (1986) , Liefdesportretten, with music by Andries van Rossem and with De Plaats (1998), and GILGAMESH, with actor Frank Groothof and with Stichting Vrije Val (2002-2003).

Search Add 5 Kiowarini François Vincent Also called Kiowarini (his traditional name), François Vincent is a Wendat First Nations singer-songwriter. His name means "he who sings the soul of his people". Francophone songwriter, he is famous in Quebec for his pioneering work and his unique family heritage: ...the artist comes from the family of Prosper Vincent, the first Catholic priest Wendat (Huron) ordained in 1870 and one of the last speakers of the Wendat language. François Vincent studied singing at the Académie des Trois Arts in Quebec, and then recorded his first album, Kiowarini, in 1973. His famous song Le Huron vagabond made him a star of his generation and a Wendat cultural ambassador. Attached to revitalizing, researching, interpreting and documenting the traditional songs of his nation, he participates in numerous films, documentaries and television shows. He was notably invited to speak during the celebration of the Great Peace of Montreal in 2001. His song La Huronne, composed by Huot and Lavigueur, is a Wendat national anthem. Search Add 5 Thugnor Side project of JA from Decayed. The concept behind Thugnor was to produce very slow and mesmerizing music, with lyrics dealing with death and related themes. Two songs were recorded in 1996 and released under the title “Hymns Of Death”. In the beginning of 2002, the recordings for an album started and were finally finished later. This time, the lyrics took a very different direction, that dealt with Scandinavian mythology. However, it seemed that it was difficult to find a label to release such an album. Finally by 2011, the full-length album "Scrolls Of Grimace" was released. In 2012, more new Thugnor tracks appeared on a split release with two other bands.

Although is little known, she also won the 1st Prize for Interpretation, with the band [a=Los Iruña'ko] at the 2nd Benidorm Festival, in 1960. Taking advantage of the pull of his triumph in Benidorm, a new release with clear rhythmic content was immediately published: "Te Amaré Toda la Vida" ([a=Hispavox], 1960), but didn't achieve significant sales. In the 1961 edition of the Benidorm Festival -third in chronological order-, which had already become the most important event of that incipient modern Spanish music, she did not attend. However, she recorded an EP with songs from that date, led by the winning song "Enamorada", generically titled "III Spanish Song Festival" ([l=Hispavox], 1961), but went completely unnoticed. Her acting career was more succesful so he move to acting (for instance “Plácido”, byLuis García Berlanga, 1961). She would no longer record or participate in musical activities.
