Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 15 | Trompa | The song not yet composed, already broken hearted. Trompa ("french horn" in Brazilian Portuguese) is a Brazilian instrumental free-improvisational punk band that plays a particular kind of emotional, mathy, post-hardcore. Although it has never been officially revealed (its members always refer to themselves in the plural, as "french horn players") it is known that its core members are guitar player [a4183667], drummer [a8219531] and bass player [a9550747], with a rotating cast of other collaborators, most frequently drummer [a4273234], but also drummer and trumpet player [a7959347], bass player [a4273235] and bass player [a6833730]. They are known for their radical left-wing politics [the last song on their release [r19230439] (which have song titles that refer to bank bombings and robberies) is called "A Humanidade Não Será Feliz Enquanto O Último Capitalista Não For Enforcado Nas Tripas Do Último Burocrata" which stands for "Humanity Won't Be Happy Until The Last Capitalist Is Hanged In The Guts Of The Last Bureaucrat" in english, they frequently played in squats, occupations, in events raising funds for radical left-wing causes, they're record "[r23610104]" was recorded live in an occupied school during the biggest educational strike in Brazil's history, and, overall, they have always considered themselves a punk band more than anything]; for their complete autonomy in the production of their output (which always had the phrase "pelo fim da terceirização de nós mesmos" – which stands for "for the end of the outsourcing of ourselves" in english – after the credits for each album); and also for the poetic texts for the promotion of shows and album liner notes as well as the literary and revolutionary references in they're song titles. To date, Trompa has 14 releases, all of them improvised and recorded live. Before turning into a free-improvisational band, as a quartet (guitar player [a4183667], drummer [a8219531], bass player [a9550747], joined by guitar player and clarinetist Gustavo Herscovitz from [a6142674]) they recorded a demo with three composed songs that never got to be finished or released.

His journey into electronic music began with an old tape of a classical Goa Trance compilation. Since he fell in love with psychedelic music, he started a tough journey of playing instruments, learning music theory and mixing. He believes that music is a form of magic, which can influence people. Music can bring people into another dimensions and make them experience mystical states of mind. He believes that his goal is to create an opportunity for people to experience mystical dimensions, both bright and dark. His music is created to influence your mind and take it very far away. |

Search | Add | 15 | Crippling Self Doubt | Scott Dryman | This is the soundtrack to the never ending failure that is your shitty life. Part self-help for the helpless, part narcissistic sermons in “self-betterment”. This is a reflection of a poisoned sick society, and the music for its funeral. Crippling Self Doubt’s “The End Of My Rope” and “Beyond The End Of My Rope” is Scott Dryman’s expressive, personal journey through failed relationships, self-loathing, and his never ending failure, train wreck of a life. During the creation of both of these bodies of work, Scott suffered daily with feelings of rejection, personal loss, soul crushing depression, and felt inadequate in every way. Raw, honest, and emotionally draining the listener will be dragged to the bottom, and forced to see a reality few would be willing accept. After this….you can never go back. You will not be the person you were before. You will see…Crippling Self Doubt is inside of you…and it is inside of me…. |

Search | Add | 15 | Thor Raymond | Thor Raymond Zetterstrøm | Thor Raymond Zetterstrøm, born in Stavanger 1919, died in 1982. Used the artist Thor Raymond. Norway's first cowboy singer, fully completed in 1952, had its greatest commercial success with the song "A letter with three loving words" along with Åse Wentzel; The song sold in 67,000 copies. A tendonitis in the left arm of the early 1960s put an end to the career. Thor Raymond went before the Second World War in the photo arch of the uncle who had a photo shop in Kongsgata in Stavanger. As a musician, Thor Raymond was autodidact (self-taught). He even comforted himself by singing simple shows with simple melodies. Thor Raymond started his musical runway as soloist and dance musician along with comrade Rasmus Dahl. He was also guest artist of the reviews that the two cousins Gilbert and Odd Kjell Helgeland set up in Haugesund, in 1947 and 1948. Thor Raymond's real breakthrough came in 1952. He dressed as a cowboy and launched his own songs "A Cheerful Cowboy Song" and "Yippi Ai". In a short period of time, 10,000 plates were sold. Then the songs came on track: "Old Black", "Buldrende Buffalo", "Banjo Bill from Arizona", "Cowboydansen," The lonely cowboy "," Cowboy farewell "and" Red River Valley ". In 1954 he heard the song "Vaya Con Dios" when he listened to Hit Parade on the AFN American Forces Network. Thor wrote Norwegian text and went to studio in Oslo together with Åse Wentzel. The Stavanger artist became Norway's most sought-after gramophone butterfly in a short period of time, and "Vaya Con Dios" is still such a tremendous melody, over fifty years later. The song was the start of a successful collaboration for the duo. In 1955, "A letter with three loving words" came, as with its 67,000 copies sold, became Thor Raymond's biggest commercial success. The melody was followed by several plots of land: "Today I've burned my love letters," "A little apartment", "In a small cafe", "My secret honeymoon," "I love your smile", "Loving, loving thoughts" "Midnight roll", "It's going to be very little" and "Send a greeting home". Several of the melodies were a permanent guest in the NRK Wish Concert for years. At this time Raymond and Wentzel competed with other famous artists such as Alf Prøysen, Kurt Foss and Reidar Bøe, The Monn Keys, Sisters Bjørklund and Jens Book-Jenssen. The 1950s was Thor Raymond's great decade as a record artist, but in the early 1960s his career ended when he received a tendonitis in the left arm. He then took up the thread as a photo consultant and traveled around the country to advise people on restoration and coloring of old photographs. During this time he lived in Oslo, and later moved to a small farm on Toten. After 15 years at Toten, he moved to Jelsa in Ryfylke where his son lived with family. Later he settled down on Sola and Klepp. In 1970 he participated in a radio show in Atlantic Hall, "Back to the 50's". With "Old Black" he finished the artist career with the last big stage show, with the same old voice, and the same simple guitar chords. |

Search | Add | 15 | Pierfrancesco Grossi | Pierfrancesco Grossi is an Italian DJ Producer born on June 10, 1989. He is eldest son of the Italian DJ Mr. Robert, he grew up frequenting many clubs, watching his father put the disks on the console. He immediately became passionate about disco music and independently learned to mix at home using with a pair of Technics 1210 MK2 and his father’s numerous vinyl records, with the intention of creating a personal mixing technique and without too many influences. At the age of 12 he puts records for the first time in front of an audience: it was the end of year party of the middle school he attended. From there, he begins a long journey as a DJ alongside his father in the family club. A few years later he approached music production and, with the help of his father, he designs a small home studio where he starts studying sound, experimenting with synths up to the production of some dance remixes, however never released. In 2009 he came into contact with Paolo Aliberti, who managed Supersonik Records, the label with which he released his rst single entitled Cricket Night, followed by other musical projects. Between 2012 and 2018 he mainly devoted himself to DJing, putting records on private parties but also in various places in Rome and its province. In 2019 he founded his own label, Technopathy, but in parallel he decided to send demos around, getting in touch with numerous artists and record producers. In 2020 “Insomnia” comes out and thus becomes part of the Beenoise Records team.

Ray Price had been a member of The Port Jackson Jazz Band since 1947, then the short-lived Dixielanders in 1952, before reforming the Port Jackson Jazz Band, 1955-1962.. Besides his work as a jazz musician he was also a member of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra during the 50s as a double bass player. Defying an ultimatum from the ABC (who sponsored the SSO concerts) regarding his jazz activities, he was dismissed from the SSO amid considerable publicity in 1956. Soon after Price formed a trio for the Macquarie Hotel, which, ironically, was heard in 1959 by a guest SSO conductor, Constantin Silvestri, who gave it high praise. With changed personnel and augmented to a quartet, the group moved to the Adams Hotel's Tavern of the Seas on George Street Sydney; this residency concluded in 1966. Many famous names passed through the ranks of the band including Col Nolan, Dick Hughes and John Sangster. Signed to CBS their first release was the Sidney Bechet composed ''A Moi De Payer'' which made the top twenty on the charts in 1962. In 1965 they charted with the folk song ''Puff The Magic Dragon''. Migrating with his family to Melbourne, he attended primary school at Williamstown. Following Frederick's death in 1894, George went with Sarah to join relations in Perth. They lived close to poverty until George's rich soprano voice gained him jobs in cheap vaudeville shows. In 1896 mother and son moved to Kalgoorlie, then in the grip of gold-fever. Sorlie sang in bars, halls and in the streets, and was able to support his mother. At the height of his career (1920-40) Sorlie was known as the 'King of the Road', both as an actor and a producer of drama, pantomime, musical comedy and vaudeville. His cheery smile and devotion to 'clean' entertainment earned him the respect of the theatrical world. Zebra-striped cars heralded a Sorlie show in many a country town. His most famous part was the lead in Uncle Tom's Cabin: on one occasion a Townsville publican protested at the whipping Tom received from Simon Legree. Helpless on the floor with laughter, Sorlie was unable to reassure his audience that the whipping was theatrical. |

Search | Add | 15 | Chicago Pete | Alford Obsie Harrell | Alford Harrell ("Chicago Pete"), 1931-2001 Born in 1931 in rural Tennessee, Alford Harrell (better known as Chicago Pete) has the history of the archetypal bluesman right up to the point of actually having learned to sing on the cotton field and in the church. Raised up in a religious home, gospel and spirituals were Pete's roots. His mother was a "sweet singer" who taught the kids all kinds of music. "There were no labels back then - just music," said Pete. Young Alford was brought up with his mother's encouragement to reap the full potential of his talents. Knowing well himself what his talent was, Pete's early years were spent singing in groups like his uncle's Heavenly Harmonizers. After serving in the Korean War, Pete found himself in Detroit. From '54 until he moved to Chicago in'59 he performed in gospel vocal groups The Songs of Zion and The Golden Harmoneers. That same year he took up guitar briefly before settling on the bass, under the tutelage of a musician named Robert Bester. "The Fender bass was real popular," said Pete. It was a fine time to start into the blues, as Chicago through the fifties and sixties was rife with clubs and musicians, and as time wore on, Pete got in there like a dirty shirt. By the late sixties, Pete had played with many of the hallmark names of Chicago blues of that era - Earl Hooker, Willie Mabon, Junior Wells, and many others - but he got especially close to Jimmy Dawkins, working much of the time with him. They played a lot at a little after-hours club called the Squeeze. Appropriately named for its size, The Squeeze was a popular spot among musicians, and surely many graced the small stage. Other memorable gigs were at the Peacock, where Pete was a member of the house band; and a place called the Bossa Nova Club. The proprietor there told Pete "As long as you can keep up with that juke-box, the stage is yours", and so Pete with his own group, the Live Wires, covered all the popular styles, and subsequently held down a second house gig. Pete left the band and the Bossa Nova behind when he hooked up with Junior Parker, the man who was perhaps Pete's single biggest influence. He worked with Junior on the road all over the country for three or four years until just before Parker's death in '71. Pete moved back up to Detroit in the early seventies and soon fell in love with the scene there which included people like Little Mack Collins, Alberta Adams, Little Sonny, and Mr. Bo. On a friend's advice that since he spent all those years in Chicago, he should start calling himself CHICAGO PETE, and his new band "The Detroiters," Pete picked up a new handle and a hot new band. The Detroiters were an eight-piece band (or more) outfit with a four-piece horn section, and the big band for nearly the next twenty years was what you could expect to see when you heard the name Chicago Pete. He always had heavy players in the section, and the Detroiters could swing hard. The band covered a number of styles: primarily uptown blues a la Little Milton, and including interpretations of R&B and Motown standards. True to his roots, Pete clearly wasn't limited to musical boundaries. He'd throw in all these different ingredients and just COOK. Combining equal parts intensity, charm, and showmanship, the unifying flavor was Pete's powerful gospel-drenched voice. When Pete eventually relinquished the bass chair to move up front, he'd get way up front - out into the audience and preach to the crowd. His shows could be likened to revival meetings, with rooms of people standing there, shaking and waving their hands in the air, with Pete all up in the middle testifying and shouting "Blues Power!" "Do you feel alright?" Needless to say, Chicago Pete and the Detroiters were a popular regional act: their longevity alone is testament to that. |
