Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 15 | Monday Listening Club | MONDAY LISTENING CLUB is a globally distributed group of artists collaborating on a journey through the decades of lost music. Through patchwork, sampling lost works, collage, composition and creation... new music emerges. Led by group of 5-time platinum music producer and collaborating artists with 200+ productions / remix projects, Monday Listening Club brings together a group of diverse artists in Vancouver, Hong Kong, New York, London & Los Angeles. Their first art-project release - Lost but found This project captures the energy and optimism of artists, groups, songwriters, producers, and musicians whose stories were buried in the obscurity of the record label machine, for one reason or another. A track that was never explored, an album that collected dust, a track that was a blip in the timeline of musical consumption. Rights that were sold and merged and sold again. Masters missing, diminished quality, liner notes and credits all deleted, buried in the landfills. Magic lost to the dusty shelf of time. Our project is an outsider’s view of these stories, a journey to rediscover what was lost. To breathe fresh air through musical interpolation. A modern day collaboration samples lost vinyl with fresh tracks from around the world to create a connected, personal sound of memories past. All in the blaring sunshine of a Californian Sunday, a residual of the best weekend among friends. Monday Listening Club breathes fresh life into tracks for the “you may also like” generation, fusing together and reworking the dozens of compositions that inspired our project, all woven into something new. Inhale the smell of old dusty vinyl. Walk the overgrown path created by songwriters with stories to tell. Stories lost and found some 50 years later. Patched, sampled, reworked into something new.

Later these tracks abandoned their vertical arrangement to embrace a new horizontal one, spiced with some subtle electronics as well. Search | Add | 15 | Gooloo | Doing doughnuts in the parking lot of noise rock, hardcore, metal, math rock, no wave, and suburban punk, mid-90s Chicago band gooloo were known for their spazzy live show punctuated by antisocial antics and an inability to tune their guitars with any urgency. Founded as an instrumental two-piece in 1994 by high school friends Andrew Coon (Quatre Tete) and Mark William Pearson (Neptune), they soon tapped local weirdo guitar champ Adam Covalsky (ROM), who in turn brought in boy genius Paul Medrano (ROM) on bass and the quartet was complete. They released a 7" and one full length CD entitled Monkey By Default, recorded by Chicago punk legend Chuck Uchida, via the short-lived-but-influential Boston gnarler label Super 8 Records. Now available again digitally via Wrong Whole Archival Bureau, the Welcome To Atlantis/Cut It Out 7" has been remixed from 8 track cassette by Mark William Pearson and Monkey By Default has been remastered, along with bonus tracks, from the original DAT masters by Scott Craggs of Old Colony Mastering. While not well celebrated, gooloo maniacally sputtered down a path not many bands were taking at the time and possibly influenced someone somewhere. Maybe.

Search | Add | 15 | Koran Daniels | Saxophonist, born and raised in New York. Koran mainly studied under Bill Ellington (nephew of Duke Ellington) and John Percel. Then he moved on to a brief partnership with the music major program at Cheyney State College in Pennsylvania. Realizing his foundation was solidly formed, Koran joined forces with friends he grew up with in the internationally known group Atlantic Starr to complete his professional status. While active with Atlantic Starr, Koran also recorded with The Temptations, Lonnie Liston Smith and Sun Ra as a section player as well as a soloist. Later as time passed he began to find his range of expression. To further its width a temporary break away from the group was needed to connect with Norman Connors' trumpeter Duke Jones (also an original member of the group before it became Atlantic Starr). Taking a group on tour to asia, Duke brought Koran on board for the trip to the east. As well as experiencing a new culture (Japan), Koran's prime directive was to learn and incorperate the Jazz form Be Bop into his R&B skills. He started to work with the Japanese blues artist Masaki Ueda. Being that Blues is so close to R&B, the professional relationship between Masaki and himself quickly materialized into a longtime friendship. Working together as much as their individual schedules will permit them to. Other Tokyo based artists he works with include Nanase Aikawa, Oguro Maki, and Lyrico. Experiencing the east with more vocabulary, he rejoins forces with his old time friends Atlantic Starr when they bring there tour to Asia. Furthermore, Korian has performed with Bobby Watson (original bassist from Rufus & Chaka Khan), Tommy Campbell, Paul Jackson (original bassist from Herbie Hancock's Headhunters) and others such as Jazz artists Stan Gilbert and Tom Pierson, pop artists such as Swing Out Sister, r&b artists Janet Kaye and Diana King, and reggae artists Sly & Robbie. Dorian hand picked a specially formed Smooth Jazz quartet to perform for the grand opening at the Bilboard Live in Tokyo and has performed at other venues such as the Osaka Blue Note and the Cotton Club in Tokyo.

Search | Add | 15 | INSHYSVIT | Oleksandr Hladun | Ukrainian musician Oleksandr Hladun, renowned for his primary project Dunaewsky69, ventures into new musical territory with the project INSHYSVIT. This project offers ambient and dark ambient with elements of melodic noise, reflected in its unpredictable sonic experiments. INSHYSVIT releases bring together archival recordings from the early stages of the musician's career and new compositions created today and recently, some of which are utilized during performances at international festivals and live shows. The main concept of the project lies in creating album series that function as serials, unfolding a single story through different musical stages. Each year represents a new narrative, and each month brings forth a new album, challenging oneself to evolve and build upon the creative process. It's not just a challenge for oneself but also a way to explore a wide spectrum of musical ideas deeply. Each story depicted on an album embodies philosophical and historical foundations, adding substance and depth to the musical material. Album covers are designed as parts of a unified artistic image, reflecting the unique inner world of each release. |

Ray Price had been a member of The Port Jackson Jazz Band since 1947, then the short-lived Dixielanders in 1952, before reforming the Port Jackson Jazz Band, 1955-1962.. Besides his work as a jazz musician he was also a member of the Sydney Symphony Orchestra during the 50s as a double bass player. Defying an ultimatum from the ABC (who sponsored the SSO concerts) regarding his jazz activities, he was dismissed from the SSO amid considerable publicity in 1956. Soon after Price formed a trio for the Macquarie Hotel, which, ironically, was heard in 1959 by a guest SSO conductor, Constantin Silvestri, who gave it high praise. With changed personnel and augmented to a quartet, the group moved to the Adams Hotel's Tavern of the Seas on George Street Sydney; this residency concluded in 1966. Many famous names passed through the ranks of the band including Col Nolan, Dick Hughes and John Sangster. Signed to CBS their first release was the Sidney Bechet composed ''A Moi De Payer'' which made the top twenty on the charts in 1962. In 1965 they charted with the folk song ''Puff The Magic Dragon''. |

Search | Add | 15 | The Sons Of The Purple Sage | The Sons Of The Purple Sage was a Southern California western/cowboy act which had several line-ups with a convoluted murky history. The earliest version of the group came about when Buck Page, who had used the name "Riders Of The Purple Sage" for his own band a decade earlier while playing on the East Coast let Foy Willing use that name for his band (which he did till he passed away in 1978). Page gravitated towards Los Angeles to work in the TV and film industries, and renamed his group "The Sons Of The Purple Sage". It seems like the Sons band worked exclusively for budget-labels who used the band's name to record a number of albums, either because they won it through a business contract and played on the same, or because no one was able to enforce the ownership of the name. There were about a half-dozen albums on labels such as Golden Tone, Tops and Somerset, all released under the Sons Of The Purple Sage, with musicians such as Tex Fletcher and Bob Wheeler, as well cowgirl singer Linna Shane.. Search | Add | 15 | Trompa | The song not yet composed, already broken hearted. Trompa ("french horn" in Brazilian Portuguese) is a Brazilian instrumental free-improvisational punk band that plays a particular kind of emotional, mathy, post-hardcore. Although it has never been officially revealed (its members always refer to themselves in the plural, as "french horn players") it is known that its core members are guitar player [a4183667], drummer [a8219531] and bass player [a9550747], with a rotating cast of other collaborators, most frequently drummer [a4273234], but also drummer and trumpet player [a7959347], bass player [a4273235] and bass player [a6833730]. They are known for their radical left-wing politics [the last song on their release [r19230439] (which have song titles that refer to bank bombings and robberies) is called "A Humanidade Não Será Feliz Enquanto O Último Capitalista Não For Enforcado Nas Tripas Do Último Burocrata" which stands for "Humanity Won't Be Happy Until The Last Capitalist Is Hanged In The Guts Of The Last Bureaucrat" in english, they frequently played in squats, occupations, in events raising funds for radical left-wing causes, they're record "[r23610104]" was recorded live in an occupied school during the biggest educational strike in Brazil's history, and, overall, they have always considered themselves a punk band more than anything]; for their complete autonomy in the production of their output (which always had the phrase "pelo fim da terceirização de nós mesmos" – which stands for "for the end of the outsourcing of ourselves" in english – after the credits for each album); and also for the poetic texts for the promotion of shows and album liner notes as well as the literary and revolutionary references in they're song titles. To date, Trompa has 14 releases, all of them improvised and recorded live. Before turning into a free-improvisational band, as a quartet (guitar player [a4183667], drummer [a8219531], bass player [a9550747], joined by guitar player and clarinetist Gustavo Herscovitz from [a6142674]) they recorded a demo with three composed songs that never got to be finished or released.

Search | Add | 15 | Crippling Self Doubt | Scott Dryman | This is the soundtrack to the never ending failure that is your shitty life. Part self-help for the helpless, part narcissistic sermons in “self-betterment”. This is a reflection of a poisoned sick society, and the music for its funeral. Crippling Self Doubt’s “The End Of My Rope” and “Beyond The End Of My Rope” is Scott Dryman’s expressive, personal journey through failed relationships, self-loathing, and his never ending failure, train wreck of a life. During the creation of both of these bodies of work, Scott suffered daily with feelings of rejection, personal loss, soul crushing depression, and felt inadequate in every way. Raw, honest, and emotionally draining the listener will be dragged to the bottom, and forced to see a reality few would be willing accept. After this….you can never go back. You will not be the person you were before. You will see…Crippling Self Doubt is inside of you…and it is inside of me…. |

Search | Add | 15 | Garra Blanca | Garra Blanca (White Claw) is the title given to a barra brava that was created in Chile by the supporters of Santiago based football club Colo-Colo. It is one of the three largest and most important barras bravas in the country, the other beings Universidad de Chile's Los de Abajo (those from below) and Universidad Catolica "Los Cruzados" ("The Cruzaders"). In early 1986 a youth movement gave rise among the various supporters of Colo-Colo imitating the Hooligans. Amid the military regime of Augusto Pinochet, marginalized members of Chilean society decided to unite and form a voice of identity.[1][2] Over the years the group has been associated with widescale violence. Fighting with security personnel, the Chilean national police, and other team barra bravas is a common occurrence. Garra Blanca leaders are reported to have an unofficial relationship with Blanco y Negro, the corporate entity that is in charge of Colo-Colo. The board of directors deny such an alliance and have only stated that the barra brava is recognized for stadium safety reasons.
