Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 John N. Wright John North Wright John North Wright was a musician, writer, inventor, traveler, and VHS and BETA filmmaker born 1942 in Port Huron, Michigan. Wright was a lifelong conspiracy theorist (Masonic and otherwise) with the belief that Bob Dylan had stole his wife, and that the CIA and FBI were monitoring him. These themes, and Port Huron in general, were the subjects of much of his music, writing, and films. Wright was arrested in April 1981 for threatening the life of George Bush Sr, head of the FBI at the time. He was imprisoned and stood trial, being acquitted in September of that year by reason of insanity. After writing and self-publishing three books between the mid 1970s and early 1980s, Wright began writing and recording music in late 1982. In 1983 he was invited by [a482408] of [a79222] to play a live event in Port Huron, a few songs from which ended up on the legendary [r262620] compilation cassette. This led to the recording of [r262630], spearheaded by Diehl and released on his [l11552] label. Also sometime in the 80's, Wright began producing videos using borrowed community college or public access equipment. In the late 90s, Wright took to making hundreds of websites to share his theories, writing, and music. In February 2004, Wright passed away from complications related to leukemia, in a Hawaii hospital. John moved to Hawaii shortly after the release of his last album, White Widow.

Search Add 3 42 Ford Prefect 42 Ford Prefect is punk rock and roll formed in Portland, Oregon. They draw on their street punk, thrash, and American rock n roll roots to create a sonic signature that is entirely their own. A spastically crafted wall of fuzz, shotgun vocals, with an absolute lack of subtlety or nuance. Inspired by equal parts science fiction, whiskey, and horror, their songs use the imagery of fiction to express an uncompromising rage at both conservatism and pop-culture. There’s comedy here too, but don’t discount them for having a laugh: these songs are heartfelt and they come across as anthems. 42 Ford Prefect consists of Keith (guitar/vox), Jesse (drums/vox), and Patrick (guitar/vox)

Search Add 3 Foneno Foneno is a bluegrass street band from Florence, Italy. It was formed in 2012 by Federico Riondino (lead vocals, guitar and kazoo) and Ugo Nativi (drums, vocals). Often seen performing around the Santa Maria Novella station and Piazza dei Ciompi, the pair have been joined by guest musicians at various times. They have also performed in other Italian cities and internationally. As a prominent example of the growing street art scene in Florence for more than ten years, Foneno has been a longtime advocate for more flexible street performance regulations in the city, which they argue would allow for a greater diversity of street musicians in the city.

Search Add 3 Fulvio Oliveira The guitarist Fulvio Oliveira had his first contacts with the guitar at the age of 9 when he began attending private lessons. At age 11, with electric guitar, he was already listening to rock bands like Iron Maiden, AC / DC, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and other bands from the 70's, where he got the first chords and riffs. Since there were no lessons in the instrument and no material available to study, vinyl records were the greatest source of learning. He was meeting with friends to rehearse with his first band. At fifteen came interest for another sound, Blues, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Johnny Winter and Jeff Beck were now the most listened to by the musician along with the instrumental rock of Joe Satriani and Steve Vai. Under this influence, Fulvio mounted his first Trio, preferred training by the guitarist.

Divine has constantly been "on the grind," making over 10 albums in 10 years (5 tapes, 5 CDs). Over the past 5 years they performed live throughout the mid-Atlantic region, steadily increasing their fanbase. Opening for acts such as 2 Live Crew, Killah Priest (Wu-tang fam), Heltah Skeltah (Boot Camp), and Wordsworth (among others), Divine has gained respect from every artist they opened for. The main producer for Divine P. is "Chadrach," who is also the creator of the group. Divine's roster has changed over the years, with the exception of Chadrach. "The original emcees in the group were Big Rod, Chadrach, Yes, Lil' Jus, and Freddy Manson. The emcees now are Chadrach, BeenOfficial, CP, Cosmos, and Ran. Yes is now the DJ. Emcees have come and gone, but everybody is still in the "group." Divine is like a family. It's more than music. We've got people in Divine that don't even make music: ESPY, Trail, Big Chris, B Wilson, and mad otha cats make up Divine. We make music for the people, not for commercial reasons. Search Add 3 Thula Sizwe : The Group Zulu The South African group Thula Sizwe is the 10-man Zulu singing and dancing troop. The group comes from Soshanguve Township in Gauteng Province near Pretoria, South Africa. Thula Sizwe’s leader, Jabulani Abel Dlamini, comes from a family of musicians, speaks 9 of his country’s 11 official languages. Thula Sizwe sing in the rhythmic, harmonious Isicathamiya style. The group’s call and response acappella style, from the deepest bass to the highest of tenors. Is accompanied by two African drums and the singers’ stomping feet and clapping hands. The style evolved from tribal performance during the last century when men left their rural homelands to find work in mines and cities and sang to entertain each other. The name means “walk softly.” They sing to praise God, celebrate life, tell stories and scare demons. The name “Thula Sizwe” means “Hush and Listen.” They started singing in the 1980s while still in high school at a time when South Africa was still under apartheid. The group, all of whose members are black, needed special permission to sing together. “Music is our job. It is our daily bread,” said Alfred Letsoalo, one of the group’s two drummers, when asked if members worked at other jobs at home in South Africa, where unemployment is high. The members are: Abel Dlamini, Jackson Mawela, Paul Ramafalo, Nicholas Lenkwati, Alfred Letsoalo, Jonathan Mabuya, Johannes Magana, Moshesh Makwetsa, Shadrack Mgiba, Judas Mabuya.
