Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Makepeace Brothers Group based out of Venice, California. The four Makepeace brothers have been called “The Everly Brothers squared” but their catchy harmonies are only part of their appeal. Aidan, Liam, Finian, Kieran Makepeace and Conor Gaffney have gained world-wide attention because their songs move people to think, feel, and dance, with lyrics that are both witty and poignant, and which spread the message embodied in their surname – “make peace”. Growing up in the vibrant music community of Ithaca, New York the brothers were exposed to all musical genres but their commitment to a life of music began during a year-long odyssey with their parents in a small Winnebago motorhome. That tour of the US gave them first hand experience with American Roots music and the musicians who play it, and that inspired the boys to begin writing and performing their own songs. The brothers’ musical horizons were broadened further at Summer music festivals where they heard all forms of World Roots music, and from their own travels abroad when they lived in Costa Rica, Brazil, and England — immersing themselves in the music and rhythms of those cultures. After years of solo and ensemble projects, in 2007 the boys finally came together again to combine their musical visions and to create the unique sound of The Makepeace Brothers. Now, after release of two self-produced albums, and national tours with Grammy Award winner Jason Mraz, The Makepeace Brothers have a dedicated international fan-base that not only dances to their music but believes in their message as well. The Makepeace Brothers band, which has always included longtime friend Conor Gaffney on bass, now incorporates various drummers and other accompanists, and their sound has evolved from an acoustic coffeehouse combo into a full-throated stage band. Consequently, The Makepeace Brothers have been booking larger and larger shows, and the best is yet to come for this upbeat, uptempo, and politically conscious band of Brothers because their sweet harmonies and sincere, life-long message of peace, love, and justice are exactly what the world wants to hear right now.

Search Add 2 Bram Van Velde Bram (Abraham Gerardus) van Velde Bram (Abraham Gerardus) van Velde (19 October 1895 in Zoeterwoude, near Leiden, Netherlands – 28 December 1981 in Grimaud, near Arles, France) was a Dutch painter known for an intensely colored and geometric semi-representational painting style related to Tachisme, and Lyrical Abstraction. He is often seen as member of the School of Paris but his work resides somewhere between expressionism and surrealism, and evolved in the 1960s into an expressive abstract art. His paintings from the 1950s are similar to the contemporary work of Matisse, Picasso and the abstract expressionist Adolph Gottlieb. He was championed by a number of French-speaking writers, including Samuel Beckett and the poet André du Bouchet.

Search Add 2 Oh, Oh, Ecstasy Peter Carlovich Oh, Oh, Ecstasy is the doing of New York/Jersey native Peter Carlovich, a multi-instrumentalist who is responsible for most of the sounds if not all heard on the recordings. Musically untrained in guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, vocals, and glockenspiel, Peter also records all the music himself either in his parents garage in New Jersey or various spots throughout New York State. His sound over the past 2 years of activity has already evolved one, twice, thirds, to the point where the sound can only be described as genres bleeding into each other to the point of contamination. Earlier sounds were modeled after a “surf rock” sound, until the incorporation of punk influences quickly gave OOX its reputation for sudden genre hopping, especially after the sudden incorporation of experimental and electronic arrangements. The line up has changed significantly over the years, first starting out as a three piece, then growing into a four person group effort, until that line up inevitably dissolved, leaving Peter to take total control to force the most authentic representation of the music in his head. Now, the live band serves as a revolving door for Peter to work with different line ups almost every show. The sound of the live band varies but never disappoints. Peter’s recordings have been surfacing for years before under different names like Shoes Off Rule, or CandyFlips (w/ Chris Elmer), until finally sticking with the my bloody valentine inspired name Oh, Oh, Ecstasy. The first release an EP titled “Lo Fi Goodness” was an extremely distorted and confused effort that received some minor “internet buzz”. Only a few months after another EP was released titled “Vista Cruiser.” The EP’s more refurbished (but still “low fi”) sound and a wider spectrum of sounds led to critial acclaim including spots on two websites “best eps of 2011” lists. 2012 was slower for Peter in public activity. Now working with a new “fixed” line up, the band managed to release two 3 song EPs/singles. The inactivity from playing live also left Peter to record two full length albums: “Murder Tape” which was released on March 12th, 2013, and an upcoming EP/LP duo.

Search Add 2 Engelsharven Engelsharven surfaced in 1988 as a five piece band with their first release Death in the Silence. Intent on pushing the barriers of Heavy Metal, the band made little fuss of popular of style or lyrical contents of guitar based rock music. With the departure of their lead guitarist and vocalist in 1989, the core of the band continued on with Tänon Guitar/Vocals, Rhino Bass and C.C. Fly Drums. Their self produced 1990 release Im Griff followed up where Death in the Silence had left off. The big break, however came in 1992 when the CD All Harved Up was released. Recorded live in studio with GB Producer Martin Pearson, the CD found them combining complex song structures with killer riffs on top of a hammering drum beat. The CD was followed up with nummerous live shows that ensured them a large following throughout Switzerland. 1993 saw them with two more releases, the aptly titeld Unplugged, witch again was a live recording and the studio recording Hardturm. The latter recording also introduced a new lead voocalist, Kiki. With the band now freed up to concentrate fully on their instruments, the already tight songs became absolute killer songs However the sheer power of Engelsharven is best experieced live.

Search Add 2 Joe Galullo Born in Milan in 1950. In 1964, he joined his first group, the "Moods", who played songs by Little Richard, Ray Charles and The Yardbirds. The Moods performed at the most famous venues in Lombardy, such as Tricheco (MI) and Le Rotonde Di Garlasco (PV), dividing the stage with the Bison, the Gleeman and the New Dada. Later Joe formed the "Atomic Heads", a rock-blues band who played at alternative festivals promoted by Re Nudo, Alternative Print and others. He has moved to Bologna where, following separate paths, he and Andy J. Forest have represented the local blues movement for about a decade. With "The Blues Messengers" he made several recordings, including "It's My Life" in 1986 and "Blues Without Frontiers" in 1990. We also have to mention a tour with Jorma Kaukonen.

Search Add 2 Synthetic Delusion Synthetic Delusion was formed in late 2001, a product built on long time acquaintances, friendships, and musicians that had the same vision. After four months of rehearsal as a three piece, founding members Aaron Abalos (ex-tirade), Mario Mercado (ex, insanecore) and Jeremy Portz (ex-serberus) recorded a three song demo. After promoting and auditioning, Synthetic recruited Jared Slain (dj milpothefast) and completed the debut album vision. During the recording process and soon after Synthetic Delusion played many successful live shows with the help of Nick Lawhorn (ion) on guitars. In early 2003, Nick departed from the band and Eric Bloomquist (ex-tirade) and Atom Vex (ex-typecast) were recruited to handle guitars and complete the lineup. At present Synthetic Delusion has signed a promotion deal with indiego promotions and a management deal with Unknown Entertainment. Synthetic Delusion is now getting out to the west coast and soon to the east, in support of their album Vision.
