Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Richie Gomez | Rich was born and raised in Bayonne NJ. Rich’s life has been marked with music as both his father and older brother were professional drummers. His mother was very involved with community groups and The Sweet Adeline’s Singing Group. After graduation from High School Rich was spotted by the producers of the 1910 Fruitgum Company. Impressed with Rich’s voice, guitar playing and animated stage presence, he was approached and asked to formally audition and joined the group. Through recordings Rich made with the “Fruitgum” Company, he was awarded the RIAA Gold Record Award to commemorate the sale of more than one million copies of several hit singles. Touring with 1910 Fruitgum Company Rich appeared in concert with notable groups like, “The Monkees”, “Sly and the Family Stone” and “The Ohio Express.” He also composed songs for two albums, “Special Delivery” and “Hard Ride” which were released internationally, all this at age 18. Some years later he auditioned for the Broadway Show "Beatlemania." Rich was thrilled to hear the news that he had gotten the part. For the next 4 years he appeared on Broadway and in major cities throughout North America as “George Harrison” in the world-renowned show. Rich received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in 1973. He enrolled in Advanced Christian Training School and began to attend church faithfully. Graduating as valedictorian, Rich became actively involved in music ministry as worship leader at Faith Fellowship Ministries. He began with a small group but the music ministry grew to include a 20 piece orchestra and a 100 voice choir. A highlight in ministry came when Rich had the opportunity to lead worship for a live praise & worship recording for an Integrity Hosanna.® praise album entitled “Almighty.” He was also blessed when his original song “Let Everything That Has Breath” was selected for the top selling praise & worship recording by Ron Kenoly, entitled, “Lift Him Up.” Rich currently resides with his wife Cathy in Prescott, AZ, where he is currently a Worship Pastor at Prescott Church Of Nazarene.

Search | Add | 4 | GRARGE! | Experimental punk/noise/whatever project started around 2001 by Louse & Mr Maggot. They would consume drugs & alcohol & play freestyle, off the wall, weirdo noise throughout the night. If the recording still sounded "good" to them the next day, they would try to remember how To play them & give them "proper" recordings. In the end dozens of songs were recorded to CDr & cassette sporadically over the next few years until Mr Maggot's death in 2007.

El resultado de todo ello es una propuesta única, original y fresca, pero con una cierta profundidad, que consigue despuntar como una alternativa ideal dentro del panorama de la música en catalán.

Search | Add | 4 | J. F. Nelson | Third-person alias of [a95466], that he used when writing the foreword and afterword in the "Those were the days" book. About the origins of the name, Marian supposedly said: "Some say, his full name is jonathan frederik nelson, others insist on jordan franklin nelson and others call him jefferey ferdinand nixon. reportedly he established the so called 'nelson project' at the end of the seventies that later became alphaville. his identity is a mystery. and it will continue to be. on 'afternoons in utopia' they described his function as 'spiritual light(n)ing', later on he appeared as an 'illuminator'. in the lyrics of 'lies' (forever young) and 'lassie come home' (afternoons in utopia) he was some kind of visitor, and maybe in some other songs as well. The album of Serge Gainsbourg called 'Histoire de Melody Nelson' seems to deal with his person. Around 1984 he disappeared. On 'dreamscapes' he was mentioned being a traveller, but his current residence seems to be out of this world."

Search | Add | 4 | Clarence Johnstone (2) | Clarence Nathanial Johnstone | American vocalist (b. 1885, d. 1953). Part of the American vocal duo “Layton & Johnstone”, Johnstone, along with Turner Layton, sold ten million records between the years of 1924 and 1935. Layton & Johnstone were one of most successful vocal Duettists in the 1920s and 30s, performing for the British nobility at the most prestigious estates and halls. That was until 1934, when Johnstone was implicated in a scandal involving the wife of Albert Sandler, a Violinist in the Palm Court orchestra, the trial was described as follows: “An appeal by Mr Clarence Nathaniel Johnstone, the coloured variety singer, against an award of £2,500 damages to Mr Albert Sandler, the violinist because of the misconduct of Johnstone and Mrs Sandler was heard in the Court of Appeal. The suit came before the President of the divorce division, Sir Boyd Merriman, and a special jury on March 6 and 7, and Mr Sadler was granted a desree nisi.” Johnstone and Mrs Sandler were then married in December of 1935, a month after the Layton & Johnstone split. After which Johnstone returned to America with the former Mrs Sandler, moving into an apartment in Harlem. He found work as messenger for Western Union, 8 years later his wife left him, causing him to fall into a depression, for the next few years he worked as a janitor, dying in a sanitarium in 1953, aged 68. |

Search | Add | 4 | Ponychase | In the beginning, Ponychase was the pseudonym under which [a=Jordan Caress] recorded a series of home demos. These demos didn’t quite fit into what had come to be associated with her name and she wondered if she could even find like-minded musicians in Nashville to help her bring this dreamy, earnest synth pop to life. She serendipitously met [a=Beth Cameron], formerly of the Nashville band [a=Forget Cassettes]. After an exchange of demos and favorite records, Cameron was on board. Jordan enlisted her brother [a=Alex Caress], to play synths, and electronic drummer [a=Brian Siskind], thus creating a foursome bound.

Search | Add | 4 | Сини Степів | Montreal's Syny Stepiv (Sons of the Steppes) are remembered today as pioneers of Ukrainian zabava music. Though Rushnychok broke onto the scene first, Syny Stepiv were a close second behind them, and many people considered the "Syny" a much more musically accomplished ensemble - in fact, possibly more accomplished than most all other zabava bands at the time! After their first few shows, it didn't take long for Syny Stepiv to gain acclaim as their audiences began admiring their musical talents and abilities, and also falling in love with their multi-harmony vocal style. The members of the group had each developed and honed these talents while previously playing and singing with various other ensembles - in many different genres of music: folk, rock, jazz and traditional ethnic. They each brought these talents and backgrounds to Syny Stepiv and, as a group, blended them to create a fresh and inspiring sound. As accomplished musicians, each member of Syny Stepiv was competent at a number of different musical instruments. In fact, the guys would regularly join other zabava and concert bands on stage as special guests or fill-in musicians. At the height of their popularity, Syny Stepiv would play an exhausting number of shows each year. In 1976 alone, they played functions in New York, Newark, Yonkers, Passaic, Parma, Rochester, Detroit, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Chicago, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton, and Saskatoon! During their time together, Syny Stepiv released three albums that stand today as classics in the collective Ukrainian-Canadian music oeuvre. So esteemed were the band, that Ukrainian lyricists and songwriters would often submit musical works to the quartet with the chance hope that their songs could end up in Syny Stepiv's live or recorded repertoire! The members of Syny Stepiv: Adrian Alboshchy - Rhythm Guitar (v.II, & v.III) Taras Didus - Accordion Jaroslaw Gudzio - Rhythm & Lead Guitar (v.I, & v.III) Tino Papa - Drums Jaroslaw Workewych - Lead Guitar (v.I, & v.II) (Adrian Alboshchy & Tino Papa would later go on to play in Chornomortsi and Vechirnyy Dzvin.)
