Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026
Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 4 | Aberystwyth Male Choir | The Choir was first formed in 1962 as Aberystwyth Post Office Gleemen under the direction of James Morse. During the fifty plus years of its lifetime it has benefited from the leadership of five further conductors, David Griffiths, Margaret Maddock, Len Williams, Carol Davies and our present Director of Music, Alwyn Evans. The choir has travelled widely over the years with tours in Europe, United States and Canada besides engagements throughout Wales and England. Our concert venues have varied from village halls to national auditoria and great cathedrals. In the Eisteddfod field we have won two National first prizes plus several seconds and others. In 2012 we celebrated our 50th anniversary. | |

Title in Russian: Ансамбль древнерусской духовной музыки "Светилен" or Ансамбль "Светилен". Over the years, the group has been referred to in various publications under slightly different names. The ensemble of ancient Russian music Svetilen was formed in 1989 to preserve the old Russian vocal tradition. This style is reflected in two types of singing: church singing and secular singing. Both are marked by the meaning of the sacred word. This testifies to their common “starting point” and the same cultural and musical background. Musical compositions are usually performed a capella, but sometimes ancient Russian instruments such as gusli and koliosnaya lira are used giving a peculiar sound. The group has participated in numerous festival in Russia and abroad and has won several internal awards. | Search | Add | 4 | Leagus | Leagus is a contemporary and experimental musical duo from Sápmi, Norway, whose music alternates between formal composed parts, open structures, and free improvisation, and ranges from subdued, minimalistic, psalm-like pieces, to more rock-oriented improvised parts. Consisting of pianist Herborg Rundberg and guitarist Kristian Svalestad Olstad, Leagus was originally formed in 2013 by Herborg, as part of her Masters degree in Rhythmic Music at the Tromsø Conservatory, where Kristian had also received his Masters degree in the same subject two years earlier. Over the years the duo have worked extensively on finding new, and different interactions between the piano and the guitar, which has lead to the development of a new and progressive kind of musical togetherness. It is a sound that is highly dynamic with musical contrasts playing a big part in their concept. In 2021, Leagus were commissioned by the North Norwegian Jazz Ensemble to write a piece for a ten-member orchestra. The result was “Flora Eallin” which was composed and arranged by Herborg and Kristian. This led to a tour with the North Norwegian Jazz Ensemble and long time collaborator and visual designer Torbjørn Thrane Sandnes.

| Search | Add | 4 | Richie Mayer | Richie Mayer | Coming out of the trend-setting 1980 Chicago PowerPop / New Wave scene that included Pezband, Cheap Trick & Shoes, Richie’s group Loose Lips released their EP “Hung Up On Pop” with Grammy award-winning producer Michael Freeman. Loose Lips created its own scene for the next two years with an enthusiastic fan base, memorable shows, frequent radio play, and a number of cable and TV performances that included an AM Chicago Rate-A-Record appearance hosted by Dick Clark. Slipping into another musical skin, in 1986 Mayer formed the Dark Pop group PushPush and soon recorded the album “World On Fire.” A reaction to the music industry’s slide into big hair, loud clothes and tepid songwriting, Mayer plumbed the moodier side of pop while still penning catchy melodies graced with wry observations on the human condition. A new direction again presented itself in the early ’90’s when Mayer became a songwriter and producer for BMG Music Publishing in Toronto, Canada. In collaboration with BMG A&R head David Bendeth, the group Love And Sas won Juno Awards (Canadian Grammys) in 1991 and 1992 for R & B Song of the Year with Mayer and Bendeth’s songs and production. In early 2000 the creative muse beckoned again, this time luring Mayer in a different direction; architecture. Designing and building modern, ecologically sound homes became a passion and Mayer found that composing simple, flowing spaces was much like writing and arranging songs; “If you strip away artifice” Mayer offered, “the truth reveals itself.” A development deal with Epic Records led to a songwriting, production and publishing deal for Mayer with BMG Music in Toronto, Canada. Many songs, recordings and productions now brings us to 2021 and the release of his first solo album, The Inn of Temporary Happiness. |

At the same time, having a lot of alternative songs on his mind he decided to create a solo project. Roger DeLarge is a psychedelic project that focuses mainly on atmospheric music influenced by the early British psychedelic scene and the 60-70s “acid” music in America. The debut album "Left Somewhere Dreaming" has two sides of it, one calm and one more melancholy, but they’re all trippy either it's about an ant that lost his way or something more personal. This album is for those who like to dream away into the surreal. Roger DeLarge went back to the studio imminently after the release of his debut album and his second album titled "Wall of Eyes" was released 28/06/2013. This album features a more professional sound and the songs are more advanced and experimental. |

| Search | Add | 4 | Karlstads Motettsällskap | Swedish advanced choir from Karlstad formed in 1944 on the initiative of former cathedral organist [a10564762]. The then exiled Danish conductor [a980515] was engaged to conduct the first concerts. Until 1974, Olle Ljungdahl was the choir's artistic director and conductor. He was succeeded by the cathedral organist [a7374772]. Current leader and contact person is cathedral organist [a1877672] The choir consists of 40 members from different parts of Värmland. Many are professionals such as organists and music teachers, but most are enthusiastic "recreational musicians". Mostly the Motettsälskapet performs in the hometown and its cathedral, but has also carried out several tours both within and outside the country. Notable concerts have been given in e.g. Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim , Helsingfors, Hamburg and Berlin. On several occasions the choir has sung on Swedish, Norwegian, and Finnish radio and has previously issued two gramophone records with SKS as a client. Mozart's and Brahms' requier and several of the great works of church music have been performed by Karlstad's Motettsällskap.Swedish and foreign choral lyrics are also often on the choir's program in secular contexts. | |

| Search | Add | 4 | Rob Benzing | In the world of bluegrass these days, tradition and innovation are gradually falling into the hands of a younger, very talented generation. Rob Benzing is an outstanding example of why that should happen. He fell in love with the bluegrass sound when he was a kid, listening to and learning from the greats—Don Reno and Earl Scruggs—and was playing the banjo by the time he was ten. Now he’s found his ground, stepping out with a project that demonstrates a full command of the instrument and the wide range of tunes—both classic and progressive-- that go with it. He’s assembled a sparkling constellation of fellow artists to showcase his abilities and theirs: Danny Knicely on guitar; Taylor Baker on mandolin; Mark Schatz on bass; fiddler Patrick McAvinue; vocalists/ instrumentalists Jacob and Joey Mosley, Scott Brannon, and Tom Mindte. Benzing shows his mastery of bluegrass banjo licks in hard-driving classics like Reno tunes Dixie Breakdown, and Sockeye, and Scruggs’ Lonesome Road Blues; handily tackles some less-than-standard chord progressions in the quirky Armadillo Breakdown; balances meter and melody on The Bells of St Mary’s; and shows what a banjo can do in back-up as well as solo in vocal standards No Longer a Sweetheart of Mine, Have You Come to Say Goodbye? and It’s Only Right That I Should Pay. He comfortably finds a modal groove to underscore the lyrics in the melancholy Lonesome River and Jacob Mosley’s haunting Carry Me. But that’s not all--Benzing has included two of his own compositions, to excellent effect: Monocacy Crossing flows across the frets from low to high with echoes of swing; Fingerboard Road, as the name suggests, is fast, light and deft, producing a sound both inventive and as old as the hills. Benzing hails from Maryland and travels all around to traditional music gatherings, clubs and festivals where he is fast gaining a reputation as a banjo adept who can hang in with a new tune and give it that good old feeling, or add a new twist to a familiar classic. On this CD he has concocted a rich musical sampling: a little bit of Reno, a little bit of Scruggs, and a whole lot of Benzing. | |

The second set of recordings were recorded at a 5+ day marvelous musical marathon with many singers and guests staying at the home of Sandy and Caroline Paton, a remodeled barn in Sharon, Connecticut. Music was made together for a week or so and recorded. These were not exactly well-controlled recording situations. Microphones were set up, levels set and buttons were pushed before the engineer took up his pace in the chorus. There would often be experimenting with harmonies on a new song while scrubbing pots and pans during food breaks. Members reformed in somewhat smaller gatherings for further recordings: [a=Sharon Mountain Harmony]: [r=9316994] Twos On a Night Like This: A Christmas Legacy For All the Good People, A Golden Ring Reunion.
