Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | Jettison Charlie | Jettison Charlie is from Richmond, Virginia, USA. The band started when its members were in high school and lasted through their mid-20s. In the songs you can hear traces of punk, metal, reggae, pop, indie, sampling, and whatever else caught the members' fancy at the time. The band was probably too arty for the hardcore crowd and too hardcore for the arty crowd. That's another way of saying they created their own style. An early self-released single ("Probably Die Poor" / "Like John Donne") paved the way for incessant touring. After a couple lineup changes, they recorded their sole album, "Hitchhiking To Budapest," on Turn of the Century Records. It was followed by a single, "Legions of the Unjazzed" / "I Love You You Bastard," on Peas Kor Records. Bassist Chris Adler went on to play drums in Burn the Priest, Lamb of God, and Megadeth. Drummer Noal Clark went on to form Grouser. Guitarist / singer Bob Massey went on to play in Telegraph Melts, Tsunami, the Out_Circuit, the Gena Rowlands Band, and to compose soundtracks, scores, and a post-punk multimedia opera (with David Wilson), "The Nitrate Hymnal."

The music has been referred to as "post-rock", "psych-rock", "space rock" and "experimental". Flock From Spokane was formed in 2001 by Todd Stapleton while living in Knoxville, Tennessee. Numerous recordings were made over the years and unofficially circulated. In 2007, FFS released "The Cold Noise of Space EP", limited to only ten hand made editions. Search | Add | 3 | Mieczyslaw Kolinski | Mieczyslaw Kolinski (5th Sept 1901, Warsaw — 7th May 1981, Toronto) was a Polish-Canadian ethnomusicologist and composer. He became a naturalized Canadian citizen in 1974. Kolinski received his education in Berlin, where he studied piano and composition with [a6828211] and [a906989] at the [url=https://www.discogs.com/label/481472]Hochschule für Musik[/url] (1923-'26). The scholar then pursued musicology at the Berlin University under [a1325982], [a8222219], [a3549142], and [a2529657], granted a PhD in 1930. As Hornbostel's assistant at the Berlin Staatliches Phonogramm-Archiv (1926 to 1933), Kolinski made several field trips to Bavarian Alps and Sudeten. He spent the mid-'30s transcribing Surinamese, Dahoman, Togonese, Ashanti, Haitian, and Kwakiutl Indian music for [l441870] and [l203349]. From 1938 till 1951, Mieczyslaw Kolinski resided in Brussels, Belgium. In 1951, Kolinski traveled to the United States and spent fifteen years in New York. He worked as [l594706]'s editor and a music therapist at several hospitals and co-founded the [l996649] (serving as president in 1958-'59). Since 1966, Mieczyslaw Kolinski lived in Canada. He taught ethnomusicology at [l947487] (1966-'76), becoming the university's first Scholar Emeritus upon retirement. Some of his pupils include [a2640311], [a1038461], [a291715], and [a950315]. Kolinski was also an associate composer at the [l75747]. Among Kolinski's primary research interests was establishing the scientific basis of harmony and melody. One of his early monographs, [i]Konsonanz als Grundlage einer neuen Akkordlehre[/i] ("Consonance as the basis of a new chord theory") published in 1936, anticipated a few of [a=Paul Hindemith]'s theories. In ethnomusicology, Kolinski is most notable for developing cross-cultural analytical methods for studying the human acoustic perception that would apply to an overarching variety and diversity of the world's music genres and styles. Rather than focusing on contrasting differences between European and non-European musical cultures like most scholars did, Kolinski instead highlighted existing parallels, suggesting there are "basic similarities in the psycho-physical constitution of mankind." In the absence of such a universally recognized "objective" comparative framework in ethnomusicology today, most contemporary scientists, including [a=Bruno Nettl], routinely mentioned Kolinski's findings, alongside [a304968]'s and his teacher Hornbostel's writings, as most notable attempts to create one. As a composer, Mieczyslaw Kolinski often employed elements of modernism and wrote in a wide range of styles. His compositions include at least one work for an orchestra, many chamber pieces for small ensembles, duos for piano with violin or oboe, and solo piano pieces. Kolinski authored settings and arrangements of numerous carols and German, Dutch, Slovak, French, American, Canadian, Yiddish, Sephardic, Hebrew folksongs.

Search | Add | 3 | Robert Bresson | French film director and screenwriter (25 September 1901, Bromont-Lamothe — 18 December 1999, Droue-sur-Drouette). [b]Robert Bresson[/b] is often cited among the most influential and renowned filmmakers ever, preempting the development of "minimalist" cinema and hugely impacting the French New Wave directors. [a=Jean-Luc Godard] once wrote that Bresson "[i]is the French cinema as [url=https://discogs.com/artist/1592547]Dostoevsky[/url] is the Russian novel and [url=https://discogs.com/artist/95546]Mozart[/url] is German music[/i]." Robert Bresson's highly-influential book, [i]Notes on the Cinematographer[/i] (1975), is one of the classics on film theory and critique. Numerous prominent and distinguished filmmakers from all over the world and across several generations have quoted Peter Bresson's work as a significant influence and inspiration, including [a=Ingmar Bergman], [a=Werner Herzog], [a=Alain Resnais], [a=Andrei Tarkovsky], [a=Abel Ferrara], [a=Aki Kaurismäki], [a=Abbas Kiarostami], [a=Atom Egoyan], [a=Jim Jarmusch], [a=Jean Cocteau], [a=Krzysztof Kieślowski], [a=Paul Schrader], [a=Jean-Pierre Melville], [a=Jacques Rivette], [a=Chantal Akerman], [a=Jean Eustache], [a=Philippe Garrel], [a=Hal Hartley], [a=Monte Hellman], [a=Louis Malle], [a=Olivier Assayas] and [a=Michael Haneke]. A decennial list of "250 greatest films" published since 1952 by [l=British Film Institute]'s [i]Sight & Sound[/i] magazine, based on votes of the most reputable and distinguished critics, had more aggregated submissions for Bresson than any other film director ever.

Search | Add | 3 | Maysun | MAYSUN offers immersive instrumental music that evokes melancholy, acceptance and hope. This project combines drums, synthesizers and sound design to create a universe where the digital and the organic merge. Releases include works such as Wanderlust II (2022), Waiting Spaces (2020), The After Mountain (2020) and more than 700 improvisational pieces between 2017 and today. MAYSUN’s work explores the relationship between the temporality and spatiality of sound. This project is based around the use of sounds from real life environment and transforming them into musical tones to be used in the creation of soundscapes. The sounds sampled are transformed using tape cassette, physical spaces, modular synthesis, feedback and effect pedals. This allows the sound to be altered in pitch spliced and stretched, adding imperfections and artifacts along the way. The compositions are created as if they were soundtracks to life events. This process aims to add depth to the listening experience by giving a sense of time and space throughout the music.

Search | Add | 3 | The Dae-B-Four | West London mod group active in the mid sixties. Disbanded early 1967. The following info sourced from https://garagehangover.com/daebfour/ Brothers Rex and Brian Brayley had first come to prominence with Tony Liddle & the Lads, a Hounslow band formed in 1962. The band also comprised singer Tony Liddle, bass player Roger Sidey and drummer Yan Kuttlevasher. In mid-1964, Sheffield drummer Kenny Slade replaced Kuttlevasher after playing with Dave Berry & The Cruisers. When Tony Liddle left soon after, the group became The Dae-b-Four. Not long after the name change, the musicians were joined by new lead singer Jimmy Trimmer. Then in early 1965, Bob Carpenter took over from Kenny Slade on drums. Slade joined The Sheffields and later worked with Joe Cocker. Carpenter didn’t stay very long, however, and Bobby Dean from rival Hounslow band, The Stringbeats took over that spring. Dean introduced his friend, singer Iain Pitwell, who took over from Jimmy Trimmer when he departed. However, Dean left in August 1965 to work with another local group, The Valkeries. Malcolm Randall from Rey Anton & The Peppermint Men took his place briefly. The line-up remained steady until November 1965 when John Kerrison came in on drums after playing in Germany with The Horizons. Kerrison had previously been a member of Frankie Reid & The Casuals and The Rocking Eccentrics. Malcolm Randall later reunited with Pitwell in The All Night Workers in October 1967 after working as a freelance drummer and The Missing Links in the interim. The new line up lasted until about August 1966 when Kerrison departed and subsequently joined Mick Liddell & Gli Atomi in Rome, Italy. The band recorded the track “La Mia Inghilterra”, after which Kerrison returned to the UK. By February 1967, Kerrison had linked up with Johnny Kidd’s former band, The Pirates. He then played with Episode Six and The Beachcombers. The Dae-b-Four carried on with another drummer. In March 1967, Rex Brayley struck gold when he joined The Love Affair. Iain Pitwell meanwhile reunited with Malcolm Randall in The All Night Workers in October 1967.

Search | Add | 3 | Realms of Blood | Raw Lo-Fi Industrial Primitive Black Metal project that was active during the years of 1998 to 2000. The project was manly a duo but with some exceptions as it approached closer to the dissolution of the project, when some tests of some new entrances were made. But during the year of the 2000 the two main members at last split up the teamwork in favor of developing new projects and because that the distance between the members was too long to keep the machinery floating anymore. During the year of 2000 one of the main members transform the project to a new under the name Fornjotr. And also put some more focus on his other projekts called Hrafn, The Dark River, Blutsturm and Helkari. The other main force went to a more pure Dark Ambient and Industrial scene with his new projects called Club Dorothée and Void. And later there after followed by Lithivm and his self titled projekt Gustaf Hildebrand. Main members: Nehcrohm (Hrafn) & Kohort (Hildebrand)
