Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026

Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 7 Trick-C Carmen Trick-C. (DJ,organisator, producer) First lady of Slovenian techno has been firmly stuck behind turntables for over a decade. As a DJ and party organiser she has established herself within the international campaign Urban Divas attracting ladies devoted to dance electronics and their adherents of various artistic expressions. Lately she has also been succeeding with her original production which, just like her sets, feeds on deep underground. * * * * * * * * * * If it's true that regular change of environment is of key importance for artists, the “mother of Prlekija techno” is on a good path to be printed in bold in clubbing annals. A girl form Štajerska born in Germany was assigned a music career at birth. Her mother decided to call her Claudia, but in the maternity ward she was crying so beautifully and loud that nurses changed her name to Carmen with regard to the opera of the same name, as she only slept if she was given earphones to cover her ears. A bit more than a quarter of a century later she is known as Trick-C and she wouldn't swap her earphones and the adrenaline that she experiences when putting the player needle on vinyl records for anything in the world. To win the title “the mummy of Prlekija techno” she worked hard at the beginning of her career as she was cultivating the hills around Ljutomer with new electro sounds, and later, having moved to Maribor and then to Ljubljana her network of partners and adherents grew constantly. With her companion in life DJ Point she worked a lot in Croatia, they were among the organisers of the first techno parties, and even now Trick-C continues to foster the cultural exchange with neighbours as a soloist. At least as much as a DJ she is known as an organiser of parties in clubs, including Lipa, K4, Channel Zero, Trust, ex Fun Factory, Klub Kaos and SubSub. Urban Divas is the name of her parties and at the same time a socially engaged international campaign, within which she and her adherents wish to provide dance floors with additional female touch: "As it is always difficult for us to get opportunities for regular performances I try to gather as many good female DJ's under one roof as possible. I favour long-term cooperations as such evenings are easier to promote, yet I pay a lot of attention to less renowned girls to provide them with an opportunity that I often didn't have." Trick-C has devoted the past few years intensely to creating her own music. The same as when working behind a turntable, she doesn't pay much respect to fashion trends, but rather build her own music story, which was always fed on alternative music. She follows this music philosophy in her latest track DeTour, which is closer to pristine techno than the impersonal music matrices that have lately seduced the majority of old fighters. This recording was released officially by the Slovenian techno record label Vezotonik of international renown as an EP featuring six tracks of various authors (including Miličević,Kobaya,Veztax…) Some chosen - artist she worked with: Umek (SI), Misjah (NL), Kanzyani (SI), La Di Da (CZ), Joel Muel (SW), Veztax (SI), Kiki (HR), Mary (HR), Ian F. Search Add 7 Carri-On Carri-On was founded in 1989 by Steve Berka, in Danville, Kentucky. In 1990, after solidifying the 3-piece lineup of Steve, Wayne Reidinger, and Josh "Mosh" Howard, the band relocated to the city where Steve was born, Cleveland, Ohio. Once in Cleveland they moved into a 3-bedroom house and began building a home-studio. They soon combined their gear with that of sound engineer (and keyboardist) Dan Mace, and in August 1991 they recorded "Now Unveiled" in the home-studio, recorded and engineered by Mace. They also began playing live shows alongside numerous other bands from the Ohio Metal scene of the era, such as Winters Bane, Mystik, Advocate, Blessed Sickness, Hemlock, Sin-Eater, and several others. A few months after, Wayne then left to join the Military and the band recruited bassist Byron Baker. This lineup continued playing live and later recorded and released the "Carri-On" demo on cassette, and before the end of 1993 they brought the masters of "Carri-On" to Modern Recording Services to have it remixed and cleaned up. The result was the "Carri-On" album released on CD, with much higher production values then any release of theirs to date. In 1994 Josh Mosh moved to Las Vegas, Nevada, and Steve Berka later recorded a very rare EP and a second full-length of all-new material (Steve on all instruments), the EP called "Symbol" and the album called "The Writings of Now", which he reveres as Carri-On's best work. "The Writings of Now" also marked the first time Berka experimented with a deeper, raspy vocal style mixed with his normal singing style. "Symbol" was professionally pressed onto cassettes, although in extremely small quantities (only about 30 copies were printed). The 1995 album "The Writings...", was pressed onto a similarly small number of clear studio tapes with tape labels placed by hand, and shortly after the 1996 completion of the small quantity of tapes Steve and Byron re-located to California and formed a new lineup. They also developed a new completely new style that was 70's-influenced Psychedelic/Hard Rock. This lineup released the album "Necessary Evils" in 2001.

The project was born back in 1996 together with his brother Tony Santucci after a few visits in the legendary Grube, Tara & Zero Club’s in the Sauerland area.Between 1997 and 2000 Analogue Dream played hundreds of Live acts without have released any record. In February 2000, during a show, they meet Shiva Shidapu (aka Jörg Kessler) from Shiva Space Technology -one of the most respected Record company at that time-. Jörg was impressed from the Analogue Dream sound and signed one of the tunes called “Euphemistic Visions” for his Album/ Compilation “The Call of Shiva”. In 2000 another signing follows on the label Nephilim Records with the track “Tribal Dance & Go On” where Massimo used live recorded percussions and some Voice samples of his 2 Years old son. 2002 and 2003 was very successful years with a schedule full packed of show’s but in this time the most of the Psy- and Progressive-Trance Record companies in Germany and Europe closed they doors so the follow ups albums of Massimo Santucci - Al Dente, Prototyp - Phantom or the first Analogue Dream album has never been released. There he worked on many multi genre projects that were not only played on heat rotation in worldwide music club's but and also the way in the European Dance or Pop charts. Now, many years after Analogue Dream, Massimo is producing a bunch of new Psy- and Progressive-Trance tunes to strike the success of old days. With releases between 2018 and 2020 on Nutek America, Pharmacy Music and his own Label Global Trance LTD and some unforgettable live act on Festivals like Nature One, Ruhr in Love or in legendary clubs such as Butan Club, U-Club or Matrix he already showed that psy-trance is still owing through his blood. Search Add 7 Holy Terrors A brief history... 1990-1991: After disbanding their Boston quartet Inside Outburst, [a=Rob Elba] and [a=Dan Hosker] made the inexplicable decision to leave the countless clubs, supportive college radio stations, and a teeming Boston music scene to form a new band in sunny South Florida. Whatever made them think that the land of vacationing French-Canadians, retirees, and the $5.95 early bird special would be conductive to forming an original rock band is anybody's guess -- suffice it to say these guys weren't rocket scientists. But form a band they did. And with drummer [a=Sam Fogarino] and bass player [a=Frank Labrador], they christened themselves The Holy Terrors and set out to conquer the Miami/Fort Lauderdale rock music scene, which took about two weeks. With local producer Frank "Rat Bastard" Falestra, they recorded and released two singles, [r=4182206] and [r=4182384], as well as [r=8155409], a six-song cassette recorded live on Bob Slade's Off the Beaten Path radio show on WLRN (91.3-FM). 1991-1996: When Frank decided to quit the band and pursue a career of "not playing in a band anymore," Sam recruited friend William Trev, who performed with Sam in a Rat Bastard project called The Wahoos, to play bass. In 1993 the Terrors again entered the studio and began working on their first full-length release, [r=6092600], for local label [l=Pound Records]. Pound was a subsidiary of the successful South Florida bass label [l=Neurodisc Records], and as its first "rock" release [r=6092600] proved to be decidedly un-bootylicious for the rap label. An East Coast/Midwest tour followed, but by the time the Terrors returned, it was apparent that this was indeed a marriage made in hell. The band and label soon parted ways. 1996-1999: The Holy Terrors continued playing locally and regionally, often driving 10 hours or more just to get OUT of Florida and play support shows for touring bands who didn't realize there were actually people living south of Tallahassee (which, technically, there are). By 1996, drummer Sam had grown tired of the non-stop fun and left the band to follow a series of girlfriends up and down the East Coast, eventually settling in New York City and joining soon-to-be [l=Matador] recording artists [a=Interpol]. Fellow musician [a=Mike Bocsusis] of the band [a=One (54)] took over drum duties, and the Terrors released their third single, [r=4182365]. In 1998 the Terrors again entered the studio, this time with producer [a=Jeremy Dubois], to begin recording another full-length album. With 5 songs in the can, guitarist and co-founding member [a=Dan Hosker] decided to take a break and tour with his other band, [a=Harry Pussy]. 2001-2012: Proving that you can't keep a good band down, and that there really isn't a whole hell of a lot to do in South Florida, The Holy Terrors, with Dan back in the fold, begin to play out again. Long-time fan Tom Berman of [l=Purple Skunk Records (2)] approaches the band about releasing material, and after the requisite all-night pepsi-snorting-record-signing-in-blood session, an agreement is made. The long-lost [a=Jeremy Dubois] sessions are retrieved, various unreleased studio and live tracks are assembled, and the final result is the epic, career-spanning, appropriately titled, [r=8120110]. Oh, and the early bird is now $6.95

Search Add 7 Rudolph Cernkovich Rudolph Cernkovich was born November 8, 1889, in Gorski Kotar, Croatia. He was the oldest son of eleven children. After he finished his elementary education, his parents planned to send him to school to become a priest or photographer. When he was 15, he met an uncle who was a tambura player and maker along with having his own family orchestra. This uncle gave Rudolph a tambura for a gift and he immediately learned to play it. He came to America at 16 and settled in Pittsburgh. He planned in the old country to stay here only about three years, earn plenty of money, and return home. He joined several bands and played for dances, weddings, picnics, and home parties. Then he began to teach other orchestras and to arrange simple pieces. When the teacher of his singing society quit, the members prevailed upon him to undertake teaching the choir. From then on, he was teaching the tamburitza, orchestras and other singing societies and was arranging music for both. After playing with the famous concert touring tamburitza orchestra "Zvonimir" for five years, he married Anna Ivanusich and they settled in Chicago. Here he rented a place for tambura manufacturing, and besides arranging music, began making tamburas. His work received overwhelming approval. All the work of manufacturing instruments and issuing music dangerously affected his heart. Doctors warned him to slow down so he sold his shop to his cousin, and dedicated himself entirely to arranging and printing music. The demand for this was growing. After 23 years of yearning to return to his homeland, he and his wife spent five months in Yugoslavia. After returning home, the days of dark depression were everywhere. He went to Michigan and bought a house where he could continue to work by mail with his music customers throughout the country. The town was Bradley. Then the second World War came and orchestras disbanded. To arrange and print this music for a smaller and smaller number with growing costs in everything due to the war, the outputs were a constant loss. Realizing the futility in this line of work, Cernkovich decided to sell his home and find another line of business. After rigid examination by the Civil Service Commission, he was appointed Postmaster of Bradley, Michigan. During his free time he still kept up his work on issuing music. He has arranged more than 1000 songs, including his own melodies, work of other composers, and public domain folk tunes he knew as a child. His right hand in this endeavor was his wife, who was carrying one load while he carried another and inspiring him when he was down and low. His lyrics are sentimental and romantic in nature, which is perhaps because of the breaking away from his family in early life. He said that if he had chosen some other career it would probably have been more gainful, but this way he has friends in every native community of many lands through his music -- and this has more value.
Search Add 7 The Sundae Train Formed in 1965 in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, the band was known as the Avantis before adopting the more whimsical-sounding name Sundae Train. Personnel consisted of chief conductor Joel Cherry, Bill Gheen, John Morgan, Galen Ramsey and Steve Fecker. The Joel Cherrypenned ³Love Affair² is an exciting build-and-release composition that clearly displays the talents of a up-and-coming songwriter with serious potential. ³Sing Sweet Barbara² is a sadly- forgotten Margo, Margo, Medress & Siegel effort that begs the obvious question: why didn¹t this record become a huge hit? The band¹s other single was released on the 20th Century label. ³Wake Up (Sleepy Girl)² b/w ³I Wanna Be² was co-produced by Dave Appell and Joe Tarsia and has stellar production flourishes that enhance the solid pop songcraft. The band later recorded one single, ³Pamela² (b/w same) as simply The Train, and released this Tokensco-produced recording on the Avco Embassy label. Credited to Arnold and Alfred Infanzon of the Canterbury Music Festival, the tune was long thought to be a CMF recording. Latter-day Sundae Train drummer Steve Fecker remembers the mysterious ³Pamela² recording session: ³We went down to the Ed Sullivan Theatre (where the Tokens had their offices) and I don¹t remember if we actually recorded in that building, or if we went somewhere else. But I do remember standing around the mic and singing harmonies with the Tokens, and that was really exciting. For me, it was as exciting as being there with the Beatles or somebody, you know? That was Joel singing lead on ŒPamela.¹² (This recording of "Pamela" can be heard as a bonus track on Canterbury Music Festival's "Rain and Shine" CD, released on Rev-Ola earlier this year.) In 1972, the Sundae Train ran out of fuel and morphed into Road Apple, a band that included future Starbuck keyboardist David Shaver. Today, Joel Cherry is Tanya Tucker¹s attorney/manager. After the demise of Road Apple, Steve Fecker went back to college and returned to Sunbury, where he currently works for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Search Add 7 José Raul Hellmer Joseph Ralph Pinkham Hellmer Born in Philadelphia in 1913, Hellmer was attracted to Eastern philosophies and had a premonition that he would create brotherhood through music. He came across a stack of old son jarocho records in sale bin, and upon listening to them, had an epiphany and completely identified with the music. Hellmer subsequently came to Mexico in 1946 and began researching and collecting Mexican folklore. He became a prolific investigator of Mexican music. He recorded fandangos in Tlacotalpan, the sounds of roosters, other birds, bells, and the ambient sounds of the Rio Papaloapan. Using a portable Nagra tape recorder, he would visit towns like those in the Pico de Orizaba, recording requinto players, also including the artist Rutilio Parroquin, the great singer and jarana player in Otatitlan. Over the decades, several of his recordings were featured on compilation albums of Mexican folk music issued worldwide by Vanguard, Ocora, and others. Hellmer died in 1971. He said of himself, "I am an ex-gringo from Philadelphia, my friends tell me that I am a Veracruzano, born by accident in the United States."

Search Add 7 Stuffed Spider Matt Parish Built on years of mucking around with rickety tape recorders, B-movie synth sounds, crusty guitar strings, and phantom rehearsal spaces, the music of Stuffed Spider exists in a kind of time warp. It layers decades-old recordings between sheets of electronic melody, tactile guitar work and squelching synths. The result is dark patchwork of instrumental collage, drawing inspiration from opposite ends of the musique concrete spectrum (Pierre Shaefer to Kid Koala), ghostly horror film music, and busted old slabs of industrial noise. Boredoms. Burial. Bartók. After a few years of lowkey collaborations with artist friends on the East Coast and Nashville, Stuffed Spider's first full recording Secret Speech is set for release on November 6. The album – released digitally on Bandcamp and in limited edition cassette tape – crawls through a layered history of post-revolution unease, wandering through echoes of Soviet insecurity, reeducation dogma, religious consumerism, Western identity crises, and, naturally, decay. A member of '00s noise-rock group Ho-Ag, Parish has performed across the US and Europe with groups like Daughters, Deerhoof, Melvins, Melt-Banana, HEALTH, Dan Deacon, Wolf Eyes, Nautical Almanac, Pile and many many more.

Search Add 7 La Nopalera La Nopalera was a Mexican Nueva Canción group formed in 1975 by Arturo Cipriano, Marcial Alejandro, Roberto Cárdenas, Javier Izquierdo, and Maru Enríquez. La Nopalera was inspired by multiple genres of music such as jazz, bossa nova, rumba, son, huapango, etc., adding multiple layers of variety to their music. Multiple musicians from different musical backgrounds such as [a1564711], [a3913926], [a2274548], [a4044664], [a5179973], among others, would work with ‘Nopalera and offer great amounts of talent. The group would go through several line-up changes, and many of these musicians would establish solo careers and many musical groups. The musicians that worked with ‘Nopalera were allowed to be creative and express their musical ideas freely. They would only record and release four albums; their last two albums, Tremendo Alboroto and La Rabia Dominio Público, would be released on Sacbé’s independent record label “Discos Arte.” In 1981, La Nopalera would disband, and the main leader of the group, Arturo Cipriano, wouldn’t record an album with his name until 1989. He would later start the Mitote Jazz group, which would attempt to capture the same sound as La Nopalera.

Search Add 7 Geoff Wichmann Geoff Wichmann A DJ for over 25 years, Geoff Wichmann possesses a striking blend of experience and childlike optimism in his approach to music. Like a therapist in practice, he facilitates the experience on the dancefloor, creating a space to evacuate the mind and nurture the self. Not one for self-promotion, he is beloved not only for his expertly crafted sets but also for his humility and dedication to the scene. Geoff has been producing and playing minimal house long before the hype of the aughts. After running his own record shop outside of Lille in the late nineties, he returned to his birthplace of Brussels, where he has been a fixture in the local dance music community. It’s safe to say that if you’re a Brusseleir; you’ve enjoyed dancing to one of Geoff’s sets before (many of them, more likely). He continues to play regularly at venues like Fuse, C12, Zodiak and more. He is a resident at Ojoo Music in Ghent, the home of local Belgian talent flying under the radar, and his productions have surfaced on labels such as Lessizmore, Mindhouse & Rationalism.
