Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | Homero Hidrobo | Homero Ojeda Hidrobo | Ecuadorian guitarist and singer. Homero Ojeda Hidrobo (Quito, October 2, 1939 - August 5, 1979) was an Ecuadorian classical guitarist and one of Ecuador's best known guitarists of the 20th century. He was also accomplished in other genres such as popular and folk music. He performed with his father [a3605211] and uncle in his youth. In 1954 he formed the quartet Guanabara y, más tarde, and later the trio Los Latinos del Ande. Throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s they performed all over the Americas, North, Central and Southern. In 1962 the group evolved into a group known as the Los 4 Brillantes or Los Brillantes a group which received notable recognition in the 1960s and released a number of recordings often from Fadisa Studios in Quito. Amongst his recitals or adaptions are J.S. Bach's "Ciaccona"; "The Cathedral" by Agustin Barrios Mangoré, and " La Maja de Goya " by Granados. His composition "Canta Cuando Me Ausente" (Sing, Though I Be Absent) composed by his father Marco received much acclaim. According to the noted Spanish classic guitarist Andrés Segovia who described him as "The best guitarist of the Americas". "Homero Hidrobo has been an untiring explorer of that constellation of harmonies that captures the sweet enchantment of music. His sensitivity and craftsmanship of his interpretation makes of Hidrobo a great example of permanent overcoming craftsmanship. His disciplined work it is oriented to discover the true face of the Renaissance, Baroque, Romanticism and along with the music of America, and Ecuadorian music in particular" . Married to [a4194439], he died on August 5, 1979 only aged 39 from chronic liver disease. |

Search | Add | 5 | Tekno Lima | Tekno Lima | Rock Band from Lima, Peru (1986-1988) A creation of [l108642] Label formed by many local musicians from different bands from Lima. Just a proyect who released rehearsals and covers oriented to markets outside Lima, where the big labels did not arrive because of their small sizes. Did'nt perform presentations or concerts, just sporadically edited material as Singles, EP's or 45 RPM's. That strategy of sales was a failure. Since 1987, [l108642] stopped producing covers and started to release only the songs of several groups and national soloists of the time, many of them unsuccessful. |

Search | Add | 5 | Ishabel | Isha Bel is a dynamic performing artiste / songwriter from East Kingston Jamaica. A woman of many talents, who has worked in various capacities in the Jamaican music industry Isha bel’s roots reality songs and spitfire performances have been seeping into the consciousness of audiences and listeners locally and internationally. King Unrulee of Unrulee Rockers Intl (UK) dubs her lady lightning. Bongo Herman and Fred Locks describe her energy and vocalizing as raw soul. Like most Jamaican artistes, Isha bel was raised by Christian parents . She and her 5 siblings attended church religiously while growing up in gritty East Kingston, Jamaica..Her father) was a singer, the songs he sung and the cassettes he played, provided her with the inspiration she craved. She found solace in music, the pen and the paper. She performed in competitions and high school concerts. Isha bel first worked professionally as a member of former girl group 4th Street Sister performing locally and in the Caribbean on the hotel circuit and on shows such as Reggae Sumfest and appearing in several newspapers and advertisements. After the group disbanded she worked and toured as background vocalist with a number of artistes such as Warrior King, Tanya Stephens Iley dred, Sizzla ,Morgan Heritage Family ,Norris man .Jah Bouks Droop Lion etc Being a songwriter, she toyed with the idea of releasing her own music for some time. She began working with Hopeton Hibbert writing and collaborating on numerous tracks with some of the Road Dog Production’s releases with artiste such as Yellowman. A couple songs were released under the moniker Sister Irie. The collaboration was shortlived. After a long break, Isha Bel re-emerged on the active music scene making music that reflects her outlook on society and her search for balance. She will quickly tell “you cannot grow up in a community like East Kingston and write only glossy songs “ If I did that, I would be betraying myself and my upbringing”. She worked with Jamaican producers such Alla Lloyd of Chalice, Computer Paul and Caveman. Alla Lloyd and Computer paul are producing several tracks for her upcoming album. Caveman invited her in 2011 to sing harmonies on Sizzla’s, Grammy shortlisted album “The Chant”. She recorded several songs with the label ,Domestic Problems, In My House , African Woman and No Call the Police. A radio release of No call the Police was the official signal of Isha bel stepping out as a solo act on her own terms.“No call the Police” won Irish and Chins 45 Sound Clash Competiton in 2013. A comradery developed with other artistes she met around caveman label Wild life ,black warrior, freeza boxx . Isha bel collaborated on several writing projects with George Wild Life" Scott who introduced her to Intl labels such as Unrulee Records, Sud Sound System (Italy) and Yard Art Music (Germany )etc. Several songs were recorded and released such as One Bag a Reggae” on the Come Back Again compilation - Sud Sound Systems (Italy). This is Love – Yard Art Music (Germany)Watch Over Me -Irie Jam Production (France.) UK labels, Unrulee Records (Unrulee Rockers International Soundsystem) and deep roots label Conscious Sounds Bush Chemist took particular interest in Isha bel, promoting her music to UK and European audiences. Several songs has been released on vinyls and digital download. Unrulee Records have released the following singles They should Know (where the good sensimilla grows) vinyl and downloads .Rolling Rolling a cover of Roy Shirley’s hit rolling Isha bel’s version peaked at number 4 on itunes reggae chart when it was released in Sept 2014. More releases include DEM GET MI MAD on the Prophesy Riddim . Conscious Sound Bush Chemist (UK)released 2 singles on vinyl and downloads Bless Jah Holy Name and Blessings. Isha bel’s appearance and offstage persona belies the determined woman on a mission she is. Like her music, her performances are well received. Her soaring vocals reach into the soul of audiences. She is like the calm eye of a hurricane until she has a microphone in her hand . She performed on several shows including the Bob Marley Birthday Celebration “Trench Town Rock and Peter Tosh Tribute to thunderous applause. Irie Fm ‘s,Marcus Garvey Tribute , Mello Fm Road Show ,Gregory Isaac Tribute, Conscious reggae Party. Currently she is working on songs for her upcoming ep and album. .The album a collaborative effort with producers such as Computer Paul will be released 2015. It will also feature several songs produced by Isha bel For Isha Bel music is more than getting on stage and singing a song. For her it is a journey into the young woman who stood quietly observing . It is her way of being the storyteller of the average person in the street . She stated her music is therapy, no bling or pie in the sky living. It is firmly grounded in what real, her take on positive living and spirituality . Influences are Peter Tosh ,Miss Lou,Marcia Griffith,Tina Turner, Phyllis Dillon. Search | Add | 5 | Cristóbal Dión | Christopher Dion | Born: June 2, 1986, Montreal, Canada Multi-genre producer, MC, instrumentalist, and avid crate digger and record collector. He is the son of the Live Sound Engineer and Technical Producer Alain Dion (Celine Dion, Paul McCartney, Laurence Jalbert, Natalie Cole, Yanni, Paul Piché, Lara Fabian). At very young age he started to produce instrumentals for french-speaking boom bap rappers as part of a band called Guerre Froide between 2003 and 2007. Between 2007 and 2010 he started to produce more ambient and folk music with slam on it as part a band called "Le Conte de Monk & Cristo". Between 2010 and 2015, he was a mastering engineer for his own company called Quantum Advanced Mastering, until he decided to sell the company due to burn out. In 2019, he decided to start a new brand, called "Cristóbal Dión", that aimed to be an artist name that "evokes exoticism, yet a name that nobody can steal". He started releasing short Beat-tapes every 4 months. In 2021, he started the LoFi beat-Tape series with the LoFi Halloween Beat-Tape which then was followed in 2022 by LoFi Space Age Beat-Tape. The LoFi Beat-tape series has now many entries, and the format converged towards a 18-min mixtape which "fits perfect one side of a vinyl record". Cristóbal Dión values exoticism, which is exemplifies by using instruments and scales that are not common. He likes to blend organic ethnic sound with electronic analog synths. He also likes to sample vinyl records from the exotica/space age era. On a separate note, Cristóbal Dión loves learning languages. He speaks fluently french, english and spanish regularly. He also learned Portuguese and Mandarin chinese. |

Search | Add | 5 | Delest | Delest | DELEST is a melodic punk rock band formed in 2016 in Castelló de La Plana (Spain) and our influences come from Californian punkrock. You know: Bad Religion, No Use For A Name, Lagwagon,... 5 albums and many concerts all over the Peninsula and an international tour in England endorse our musical career without counting the previous experience in different bands of each one of us. "PERSISTENCIA" is our new EP. Recorded, mastered and produced by Raúl Artana at Rockaway Studios in Castellón and mixed and arranged by Angus Cooke in Santa Barbara (California) who has worked with the best melodic punk rock bands: Lagwagon, Bad Astronaut, The Ataris,... It consists of 4 songs that brim with this melodic punk rock where the octaves, the background vocals and the vocal melody are the main protagonist. 20 Chords Records is our trusted independent label and we have been with them almost since we started. In "PERSISTENCIA" we narrate the incessant walk that has made our bones heavier and our hinges creak. Yet we have not stopped for a moment to row towards what we want to be. A punk rock band that brings out the energy from the skull, that shoots at will and leaves in each concert until the last drop of sweat piling up bruises in this sea of music. Here you have PERSISTENCE, our new EP. We hope you like it as much as we are doing. |

Giving support and experience, his father showed him different kinds of music and at the age of 13, Mc Ap began writing. His introduction to hip-hop was break dancing, graffitti, DJ'ing, and eventually MC'ing. His first album "Destructive Force," was an introduction of horrorcore rap to Mexico. It became a huge success. There weren't many horrorcore rappers in Mexico, but because of his interest in the sub-genre that differs from many, he stuck with it... adding his own twist, of course. Next, the album "Brutal Kingdom" was released with a pure horrorcore approach. |

Search | Add | 5 | Anches Doo Too Cool | [a=Daniel Paboeuf] and [a=Philippe Herpin] first met in 1975, but it's only in 1978 that the band formed in Rennes (France), after the debuts of [a=Marquis De Sade]. The name is based on a play on words in French "Anches d'où tout coule" (Reeds from which everything flows). Their first live occurred at MJC La Paillette in March 1978, together with [a556251] on bass under the moniker of "Anches doo too cool badaboom duo". The main duet plays in Brest, and tours in the Briton clubs during Summer 1978. They are also programmed during the 1st [l420072] in June 1979. In Summer 1980, the duet records demos of the "[r=2404872]" LP. They then record at [l324109] during Fall 1980, with a few guests: Nicole Calloc'h sings on a track, [a350153] reads a text on another, Jean-Pierre Ghez eructs here and there, whilst [a1077077] manages the electronics. The LP is released end of 1980. Only few lives were programmed afterwards mainly at Jazz festivals, but on the 19th of October 1981, the duet recorded a live album at L'église Toussaint in Rennes, called "[r=2433495]". It was released early 1982, at the same period than the Sax Pustuls' LP "[m=1548709]", but 2 weeks prior its release Paboeuf leaved the formation to join [a1584494]. The duet is gonna reform for a night in February 1985, for the showing of the "Purple Rain" movie, in Rennes. But they reunite officially at [l1519853] in Paris end of 1985. A few concerts were made in 1986 including [l486869], followed by a Tour end of 1986 which concluded on the 1st night of the [l420072] at the "[a18700] et ses amis" event. Another Tour started in January 1987 in Le Mans, Lyon, Montpellier, and the 12th of February 1987 at Salle Vilar, Rennes. In march 1987, they recorded their 3rd LP at [l327290] in Paris. Guests: [a1074423] on mandolin, [a383887] on bass on a few tracks only, and Hector Zazou on machines programming. [r=2731695] is released in June 1987. In July, they are listed for the [l706622] festival and returned in January 1988 to play at [l420082]. For the [l706622] in July 1988, the duet became a sextet called "Anches doo too cool sexes-têtes". 3 of the guests were part of the 17 persons big band led by Philippe Herpin aka Pinpin, "Prof Pinpin et ses Funk Noz". The band then welcomed Gilles Habile on keys and [a879247] on drums. Their final LP [m=1434251] is released in 1990, before they disband.

After re-reading the 2 volumes, Pascal proposed the texts to the other members of the GROUPE 13 NOVEMBRE, created for this opportunity: Backing Vocals, Drums – [a4245699] Guitar, Backing Vocals, Bass – [a5480532] Piano, Synthesizer, Backing Vocals – [a1078708] Vocals, Bass Guitar – [a4245701] The recording was laborious but at the same time a lot of good times. Certainly too early/ahead of its time, this work is realized in the form of a musical comedy or opera rock. The expected result, even after a few TV promo, will not be at the desired height: just one album with only one promo extract published |

Search | Add | 5 | Domna Samiou Ensemble | Domna Samiou was born on October 12th 1928, in the Kaisariani1 neighborhood in Athens and died on March 10th 2012. Her parents were refugees from the village of Baindir in the Smyrna (Izmir) area. Her mother came to Greece in 1922, whilst her father, who was a prisoner of war, arrived slightly later during the exchange of populations2. During her childhood years she lived the harsh life of a refugee, but was also surrounded with the humane solidarity of the refugee communities. That is where she acquired her deep connection with popular culture and her aptitude to participate. It was in these surroundings that she also came into contact with music for the first time and where she acquired her love for folk music. At the age of thirteen, whilst attending night school, Domna Samiou also began to receive her first formal musical training from Simon Karas at the Association for the Dissemination of National Music, where she was tutored in Byzantine and Folk music, as well as being introduced to the idea of field research in music. Her first professional collaboration with the National Radio Foundation (E.I.R.)3 started when she was a member of the Simon Karas choir. In 1954 she became a full time employee of the station, working in the ‘National Music Section’4. Through her work there, she came in contact with the leading traditional musicians of the day, who were part of the greater migration wave at the time from the countryside to Athens. The National Music Section was busy recording such musicians and as a result, she became acquainted with all the various local musical styles. At the same time she was conducting the musical supervision for records, theatrical programs and films. In 1963 she started touring the countryside independently, to record music for the archive she was establishing, using her own means and equipment. In 1971 Domna Samiou left her radio job and importantly, later in the year, accepted an invitation by the composer and performer Dionysis Savvopoulos to start performing at a club called Rodeo, (see The first concerts) frequented by a youthful anti-junta5 audience. This marked the beginning of Domna Samiou's impact on the appreciation of folk music by the younger generations in Greece. Soon after she performed at the English Bach Festival in London, which was being run by Lila Lalandi at the time. It was a triumphant start to a brilliant musical career. 'It made people overcome the embarrassment they felt for folk music' as she herself stated later.
