Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | Ben Strik | Ben Strik (1924), or Father Ben Strik, was known in Dutch as "De Zingende Pater" ("The Singing Father"). In the 70s he started with church services in Beverwijk in the North of Holland and eventually he went all over The Netherlands with it under the name "Die Aaghten Cantorij". The money made from donations and the release of records went to the "Brasil op Weg" foundation that funded projects for water wells, to volunteers that went to help in areas with leprosy and to agricultural co-operations in Brazil. More choirs joined Strik's initiatives to support these projects. He worked with choirs in Dutch villages and cities like Wognum, Utrecht and Tilburg. In his sermons he was always very straight forward against injustice and poverty in the world. Against all rules, Ben Strik was married to Vera Strik, and Strik was always firmly against celibacy. In a newspaper interview, Strik once said, quote: "The church looks at a married priest as a male prostitute". He died on Wednesday, the 12th of March 2014 at the age of 91.

Search | Add | 5 | Anita Di Landa | Anna Buscaglione | Anna Buscaglione, meglio conosciuta come Anita o Annita Di Landa (Graglia, 1882 – Torino, 1920), è stata un'attrice e cantante italiana. |

Search | Add | 5 | QSR | Rap group composed of members John "Spintek" Reme, Dexter "Ruler Divine" Archer and Dwight "Powerful" Morgan. QSR signed to Universal Music Group in 1999. Three of the 40 plus members, (Ruler) Divine, Spintek and Powerful, had inked the deal representing the brand as QSR. They spent the year recording an album and performing in the tri-state area. Nine (9) of the twelve (12) songs on the album were produced by Ruler Divine and the other three by Rockwilder of F5 Entertainment (Red and Meth, Janet Jackson). On December 5th of 2000, Universal Music Group released the CD single "Washed Out" (Produced by Rockwilder) b/w "Queens" (produced by Ruler Divine) by QSR which didn't do well to UMG's surprise considering how much promo had been done by the artists. January of 2001 the group had been given an ultimatum by the record label to stay on as shelved artists or leave the agreement with severance pay. QSR chose the latter.

Search | Add | 5 | Billy Block | William Donald Block | American musician, manager, talent booker, radio host, event MC, journalist and roots music promoter. Born August 19, 1955. Died March 11, 2015. Block began playing drums as a kid in Texas, and by 1972, his senior year of high school, he was performing in a Houston club six nights a week. Before he turned 20, producer Huey P. Meaux, "The Crazy Cajun," tapped him to drum on Freddy Fender's records. In 1978, Block backed Billy Joe Shaver on a tour that included Willie Nelson and Emmylou Harris. Block moved to Los Angeles in 1985. For nearly a decade, he drummed in the house band at the famous Palomino club for "The Ronnie Mack Barn Dance," where he played with California acts like Dale Watson and Rosie Flores. Los Angeles is also where he met his wife, Jill. The couple married in 1993, two years before they relocated to Nashville. Nashville's first Western Beat Barn Dance was held at The Sutler in February 1996. It quickly became the epicenter of the alt-country scene, with Block serving as ringmaster and head cheerleader. Over the years, it moved from The Sutler to Zanies to The Exit/In to 12th & Porter to The Mercy Lounge, and changed its name to "The Billy Block Show." Despite those changes, it was second only to The Grand Ole Opry and Midnight Jamboree as Nashville's longest-running live radio show. In 2000, CMT picked up Western Beat with Billy Block. The weekly television program highlighted alt-country acts like BR549 and Kevin Gordon. The show was short-lived, but it helped bring Americana music to a national audience, as did Block's syndicated radio series, which was broadcast on numerous stations. Throughout, Block continued drumming. He appeared on albums recorded by The Pixies' Frank Black, Walt Wilkins and California country singer David Serby, and hosted Capt. Billy's Whiz Bang Live Blues Radio Show, where he also played in the house band, at Puckett's Boathouse every Thursday. As a drummer, his work can be heard on cuts by Little Milton, Steve Cropper, John Scott Sherrill, Tony Orlando, P.F. Sloan, Garnett Mimms, Essra Mohawk, the Woodys, Rick Vito and many others. |

Search | Add | 5 | William Finzel | William Finzel, a trumpeter, led a popular Detroit dance band during the '20s known variably as Finzel's Arcadia Orchestra of Detroit or more briefly Finzel's Arcadia Orchestra. The group's recordings for labels such as Okeh and Paramount include the 1923 "Animal Fair," made considerably lively with livestock sound effects, as well as a pair of ditties for the motion-happy, "I'm Going to Wander (Back Over Yonder)" and "Keep A' Goin'." While the creative philosophy of some ensembles can be gleaned simply by looking at the titles of recorded tracks, the repertoire played by Finzel's ensemble in the recording studio was less a matter of personal taste than simply keeping up with popular sheet-music titles.

He went on to study drums, guitar, bass, and eventually, the art of production and engineering. Richard has played in various bands, and has toured all over the northeast with his primary project “Electric Mayhem. He has played as a session musician on countless songs and albums, most notably playing B3 tracks on two singles that feature Beach Boy Blondie Chaplin. (Release date TBA). He also plays and writes songs in a studio project called “Demkovic” which is comprised of Demko and his long time band mate, vocalist Suzanne Vick. Richard honed his Production and Engineering skills with Vic Steffens at Horizon Music Group in West Haven, CT, and has worked with numerous local, regional, and national bands in the studio. Some of the more notable projects include working with Blondie Chaplin, Kasim Sultan, Edwin Hawkins, Mickey Curry, Scott Spray, Bobby “T” Torello, and Christine Ohlman. Richard also had the opportunity to mix some of the nations biggest bands and artists when he engineered for the legendary Toads Place in New Haven, CT, moonlighting as a Front of House Engineer and Monitor Engineer. As a songwriter, Richard has an extensive catalogue of music ranging from classical to metal. He rarely sings on any of his own work, and usually employs session singers to lay vocals down on the music he writes that does contain lyrics. His catalogue contains a mix of instrumentals and songs that contain vocals, ranging in many different styles and moods. Some of his work is commercially available with the various studio projects that he has released. He does collaborate with lyricists from time to time, and has even collaborated with other musicians to write instrumental arrangements for artists who are looking for songs. He classifies himself to be more of a composer and writer more so than a “beat maker”, as his songs are always structured, and he always has a production vision for each and every song he writes. rick d award.jpg In 2019, Richard went on to form NeuroTronix Records, which is a full service, independent record label located in Seymour, CT. As the President and Senior A&R for the label, he actively scouts bands and artists to help promote, record and release music utilizing his knowledge and expertise that he has gained throughout his 20+ year career in the industry. With an amazing team of dedicated professionals who help him run the daily operations, NeuroTronix Records has become one of the fastest growing, and most reputable indie labels in Connecticut. |

Drawing on early folk-rock influences, Will began to hone his craft in the traditions laid by the likes of Dylan, Springsteen, Neil Young, and The Band. Gie Few has had success from licensing the use of their music for television and film. The band’s name comes from a Robert Burns poem. ‘Here’s tae us, wha’s like us, gie few and they’re a deed’. Search | Add | 5 | בתריי זוזיי = Betrey Zuzey | Betrey Zuzey actually arose as a British band when drummer-lyricist Steve Marriott (no relation to the musician of the same name who was a member of the British band The Small Faces) and bassist singer Matt Gunn formed a trio at the end of 1994. Ram Orion who was in Britain at the time joined them and also chose the incomprehensible name- Absolutely for the British audience. After two years in Britain, Orion returned to Israel and founded the Hebrew version of the band here. In the beginning they released a cassette-single with three songs written and composed by Orion: "The main thing is health", "Na Nach Nacham Nachman Me'umen" and "There is no fear". In 1999 "Bete'avon", the debut album, was released. At the end of 2000, the band broke up and said goodbye to their fans by releasing a mini-album containing six original songs and another cover version of a VIOLENT FEMMES song.

Search | Add | 5 | The Combustibles | The five members of The Combustibles who recorded Watch Her and Some Peace of Mind were its regulars during the band’s final act from 1969-72. But each entered the band from vastly different directions. Brothers George (on bass) and Lionel Taylor (on lead), the founder members, were children of British parents who decided to stay on in India after the country’s independence in 1947. George and Lionel recall playing their first guitars and singing together at St. Joseph’s boarding school in Bangalore as young teenagers, inspired by the early harmonies of The Beatles. Returning to Bombay in 1965, they started playing publicly in informal settings till the first edition of The Combustibles formed in 1967. The Taylor parents and their sister Ellen, were the band’s initial mentors and remained their biggest supporters and fans. Everett Perry first discovered his lyrical skills at the young age of thirteen, while in high school at St. Michael’s in the Bandra suburb of Bombay when a number of his friends approached him to pen love poems for their girlfriends – a skill they apparently did not possess! One of his earliest successes, on the local radio called The Cadbury Show resulted in a prize of a dozen Cadbury bars. The poet in Everett ended up becoming The Combustibles song-writer and composer. The oldest in the band by about five years, he was the only one who had theoretical training in music and studied the piano till the intermediate stage. Everett took over the lead vocal slot and became one of the most recognized front-men in the Bombay rock scene – ably supported by George who managed most of the harmony vocals. Bobby Furtado, the baby of the band and brother-in-law of manager Godfrey Uttanwalla, was an important link in The Combustibles chain. For a drummer, Bobby was quiet to a fault and self-effacing till he got on stage! Drumming since the age of sixteen, he had only played with a few local amateur bands till the opportunity to join the band occurred following the illness of regular drummer Croyden Maben late in 1969. Bobby seized the opportunity with both hands (and a strong leg on the bass drum) and provided the basic beat to the music of The Combustibles till the band disbanded in the summer of 1972. While George and Lionel were beginning to practice the harmonies of The Beatles in Bangalore, Everett was honing his song-writing skills and Bobby had still to start playing the drums, Nissim was 8500 miles away in Washington D.C., with his family where his father had just begun employment with the IMF. The family arrived just a month before the horror of President Kennedy’s assassination but three months later, with all of America, watched The Beatles launch a rock revolution as they opened their first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show on 9th February 1964, four days after Nissim’s fourteenth birthday, with All My Loving. Like every teenage boy at the time it seemed, Nissim was hooked and soon had his first cheap acoustic guitar. But nothing went very far until fate intervened and a classmate in high school named Pat Loper invited Nissim to his home where every member of the family (including the Mom) would sit around after dinner playing the guitar and strumming classic country songs. Buck Owens and the Buckaroos was what they played most! There was no rock played in the Loper household – though Act Naturally was soon to be an important bridge between Buck Owens and Ringo and The Beatles! Five years later as the family got ready to return to India, a friendly salesman at Veneman Music in the Arlington suburb of Washington D.C. suggested to Nissim’s father that his son would do well to take along a Fender Stratocaster and this new fuzz-wah pedal of a type that a guitarist named Jimi Hendrix had already made very famous. Nissim’s passport to The Combustibles had just been delivered!

Search | Add | 5 | Guy Blakeman | Guy Jasper Blakeman | Guy Blakeman (1911-1992). Born in Metcalfe County, Kentucky, and learned to play the fiddle at a young age. In 1927, he came to Cincinnati to work in a factory. When the Depression hit in 1929, he lost his job but was able to get a job playing fiddle on WCKY with a group called the Bluegrass Serenaders (the name referred to the state of Kentucky, as bluegrass music had not yet been invented). In the 1930s, with Roland Gaines and Jerry Behrens, he was a member of the Range Riders, a group that moved back and forth between WCKY and KMOX in St. Louis, eventually landing at Renfro Valley, Kentucky in 1940. There, John Lair changed their name to the Mountain Rangers. Blakeman was in various groups over the years, including the Prairie Ramblers at WLW on the Midwestern Hayride in 1950. He participated in at least one of Larry Sunbrock’s infamous fiddle contests, this one at the Carthage Fairgrounds in Cincinnati in 1945, where he competed against Clayton McMichen, Natchee the Indian, and Fiddling Red Herron. He was the National Fiddling Champion in 1952, which he capitalized upon by recording two 78 rpm records on Cincinnati’s Gateway label in that year and one on the unlikely Chess label using the old Bluegrass Serenaders name. In 1979, he participated on an LP which honored Cincinnati area traditional musicians. In 1982, he put out an EP of fiddle tunes on the Musique label in Loveland. He was around the Cincinnati area for many years and had an influence on country and bluegrass fiddlers who came after him. |
