Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | Scarlett's Fall | SCARLETT'S FALL is a duo formed in 2014 by Ruth Childs (British-American performance artist and singer based in Geneva) and Stéphane Vecchione (Swiss performance artist and musician based in Lausanne). They define themselves as dirty-girlie-kitchen-pop mixing catchy melodies and repetitive looping with fragile vocals and provocative texts. Out of their playfully ironic and poetic universe you can ear shades of CAN, Broadcast and Young Marble Giants. SCARLETT’S FALL toured their first album all over Switzerland and supported Tricky, Peaches and Anika.

Search | Add | 5 | Nicky Hilton | Raymond Ensor | a 16-year-old singer from Coventry named Nicky Hilton, with a slightly goofy song ‘Your Nose Is Gonna Grow’. Nicky’s real name was Raymond Ensor. He was from the Stoke area of Coventry and went to Briton Road Stoke Secondary Modern School, where he played rugby and football and excelled in English. His singing career began when visiting The Stoke Ex Club and he realised that’s what he wanted to do. He ended up singing in the club after winning an audition, earning £3 entertaining on Saturday and Sunday nights. He was eventually spotted at a singing competition in London by artist manager Lena Davies who, along with her husband David Taylor, took Nicky onto their books, with Lena becoming his manager. Nicky was earning an enviable £40 a week in those days, not bad for a 16-year-old in 1962. Indeed, he was often seen driving around in his 1959 Ford Consul, driven by his brother (and Road Manager) Peter Ensor. Your Nose is Gonna Grow was a song that has a great verse, but a chorus that could have done with a little bit of work. Having said that, Emile Ford, Johnny Crawford and Christine Quaite, all had versions of the song on release, though none of them charted. That didn't stop Parlophone releasing a second single by Nicky Hilton ‘I'm Gonna Lock My Heart Away and Throw Away The Key’, though that too failed to make any impact on the charts. It’s testament to Nicky’s talent when another major label Decca Records, signed him and released in 1965 what would be his last ever single ‘Give Us Your Blessing’. Needless to say this too failed to chart. Nicky had an all time wish to play at the Coventry Theatre , whether he ever achieved it I have no idea. |

Search | Add | 5 | Hisaaki Kanzaki | 神崎ひさあき | Saxophonist and composer Hisaaki Kanzaki was born in Kochi Prefecture. His love for the saxophone began in junior high school, influenced by such artists as Sadao Watanabe, Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, and Art Pepper to name but a few. Upon graduating from university, Kanzaki formed Kanzaki on the Road, a group that became a leading force behind Japan's fusion boom. In 1980 he released his debut album, "Open My Road" from Nippon Phonogram (Mercury Records).Following that he released two more albums before going to the US in 1986, where he participated in numerous sessions. In 1988, Kanzaki teamed up with Russ Freeman & The Rippingtons, Rickey Minor, David Benoit, David Garfield, Phil Perry, and others and released the album "KANZAKI."On returning to Japan he became involved in the music production field, working on many theme tunes for commercials and TV. Some years back, Michael White (from the George Benson and David Sanborn band) recorded "So Far Away," a Kanzaki composition. Around that time, Kanzaki gained widespread acclaim as a composer when his album title tune hit ninth place on the US jazz charts (radio and records). Kanzaki went on to establish international projects including "Asian Soul Brothers" with best friend Michael Paulo (sax). Within Tokyo’s club scene, he joined forces with music producers Keigo Tanaka and Asako Toki in 2003 to produce compilations as the rockboys & feat.kzsax, creating the "buffet style." In 2005 he brought out the sounds of "Otemachi Cafe" under his own label, Real Play Records. The following year saw Kanzaki issue a re-release of "KANZAKI" along with "OZONIC," a work featuring string quartet. In the course of his prominent and successful career, Kanzaki has developed a deep passion for collaboration with international artists inside and outside Japan, and in that spirit has frequently served as a special lecturer at Musashino Art University. His unconventional image and music style continue to grow and influence others within the music scene. |

Both, they delivered distinctive sound of their own view on EDM. Exploring the origin of house and techno music with a slight obsession, combining it with playing on big events alongside famous headliners - all this inspired Artyom Saveljev to develop his own forward thinking style and flawless live performance, since 2012 he continues the project himself. Now he is taking the project to the next level, following his passion to produce his own sound, where his love for deep and dub music fuses with contemporary avant-garde house and techno. |

Search | Add | 5 | Dorian Passante | Kenneth Dorian Passante | Originally released in 1977 but apparently recorded at least a couple years before, the “Dorian” LP was supposed to launch Dorian (Kenneth Dorian Passante, 1948-1994) as a glam rock artist. The name Dorian Zero (with different variations such as Dorian & Zero, Dorian Zero Revue and so on) was his band name, but seems to also stick to his own persona. The album and a single taken from it were also documented by John Holmstrom in a memorable – and disastrous – inteview on Punk Magazine #14 (1978). Omitting to credit the other musicians involved in the making of the LP – including guitarist [a=Jeff Beck] on “Destination Nowhere” and “Inside Looking Out” – Dorian declared on the original album cover “I have no one to thank for this album but myself”. Before recording the album, Dorian had been on an elusive 7" single released in 1969 by [l=B.T. Puppy Records], the record label founded by [a=The Tokens], with a track written by [a=Brute Force (2)] ([a=Stephen Friedland]). Other tracks were only fixed on acetates and remained unreleased. Some are entirely lost. In 2022, a previously unreleased reggae track from 1975, "In Transit to Bermuda", recorded at [l=Electric Lady Studios] by [a=Eddie Kramer], was included in Episode 3 of Stranger Things 4 (Vol.1) and in the Stranger Things Official Playlist. |

Search | Add | 5 | Heartbreak U.S.A. | Heartbreak U.S.A. was a short-lived synth-pop trio under Preppy Records. In 1984, the group released their first EP titled 'The Flirts' which included the tracks "Impulse," "Kiss 'N' Tell," "Boys Make Me Nervous" and "You're Gonna Be Sorry Later." However, this was not a new release from [a42907], but original Flirts member Rebecca Sullivan attempting to cash in on the name. This was legally stopped by Flirts' creator [a35611] as he had no involvement in this release, and the group subsequently changed their name to Heartbreak U.S.A. and called the EP 'The Flirts' instead.

Search | Add | 5 | Agrokulcher | Agrokulcher was formed in '97, although the current line up has only been together since '99. When the previous vocalist decided to leave the band, management called upon Matt DeJoy who was working on a couple of different projects at the time. After just one rehearsal, he was granted the position of frontman and the band immediately began writing together. Within a month Agrokulcher had written enough material to go into the studio to work on their first E.P. titled "God". Since then, the band has been performing and headlining up and down the west coast. Agrokulcher played at "Camp Ozzy" at Ozzfest, opened up for the band "Live" at Dennis Rodman's Birthday Bash at the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas and headlined the Tony Hawk Skate and Music Festival in the South Bay. They also were privileged enough to record two songs with punk legend Mike Watt. It was a tribute to legendary punk bonds from the South Bay. The album is available in record stores titled "The Bay After". Agrokulcher's style of music is of n heavier genre, but the band has been influenced by the likes of Bowie, Tool, Depeche Mode, Snot, Primus, Faith No More, Deftones, you get the idea. AK has exploded out of the South Bay (Hermosa Beach, Ca.) and has gained much respect from the entire L.A. music scene as they play in Hollywood and surrounding areas constantly. In September '99, Agrokulcher was named "Underground Band of the Month" by both Loudside Entertainment (www.loudside.com) and "Unsigned Band of the Month" by Unenrthed.com. (www.unearthed.com). "AK" has also been given strong recognition by Artist Direct.com and Ubl.com. In October of 2000 Agrokulcher took some time out of their busy schedule to record the follow up to their first E.P. This CD was appropriately titled "2000". This CD shows the great musical bond and growth that the band was able to form in a very fast paced year. Their sold out CD release party at the Troubadour (Hollywood, Ca.) was a huge success. It helped others in the tight nit community of Hollywood realize why there is such a buzz about this band that has only been together for a short time. Agrokulcher is continuing on the tracks of many great Hollywood bands that have gone on to bigger careers while they continue to stay true to themselves. Their fans have made it perfectly clear what they want ...many more jaw dropping performances. It is very hard to not get lost among the thousands of heavy bands in Hollywood. Agrokulcher has made it a point to make their music and lyrical content very personable to themselves and those who make the right choice to really listen. Look for Agrokulcher to release a new Cd by the end of Summer 2001.

Search | Add | 5 | Gary Wakenhut | Multi-instrument musician from Michigan Gary Wynn Wakenhut of Vanderbilt, MI, (formerly of Lakeview) passed away at Hiland Cottage Hospice House in Petoskey on February 22, 2017. He was born in 1940 in Jackson, Michigan to Wynn and Arlene Wakenhut. When Gary was 10 years old, his mother gave him the clarinet she had played in high school. She also quoted Albert Switzer as saying, “You will never know how much your music will mean to you.” And indeed, music was a profound influence in his life. He played in bands and orchestras; in Ann Arbor and Northville high schools, MSU’s marching and concert bands, his own big band and the Flat River Big Band, Greenville’s Danish Band, numerous pit orchestras and community bands and choirs, The Grand Rapids Symphonic Band and Chamber Winds. He met Anne Wunsch, in the Traverse City Symphony and they were married June 11, 1966 in Omena. They created a musical duo (The Collecting Consort) that performed throughout Michigan for over 30 years. Gary earned his BA in Radio and Television Production from MSU in 1962 and worked as the supervisor of recording at Interlochen for 10 years. He returned to MSU and earned an MA in Guidance and Personnel Services in 1968. He worked as a counselor for 10 years at the Montcalm County Mental Health Center and in a private practice for 15 years. He also taught part time at Montcalm Community College. Following Albert Switzer’s example, Gary devoted his life to “making this world a better place”. It gave him great joy to encourage everyone he met to reach their greatest potential. Throughout his life he volunteered in many capacities including Hospice of Michigan, Montcalm County Commission on Aging, church committees, prisons re-entry programs, Lakeview Seniors (he originated), and many other community organizations. He was known as the “Flute Man” (a Certified Music Practitioner) in many hospitals, Hospice and assisted living facilities. He and Anne traveled to New Orleans after Katrina to play music at Christmas and also taught at an orphanage in Kenya. In 2014, Gary and Anne moved to Song of the Morning Yoga Retreat where he created promotional videos and worked on many environmental and developmental committees. He produced 13 Collecting Consort recordings, wrote and produced numerous radio programs for NPR, and many DVD’s. He trained as a Spiritual Director through the Grand Rapids Dominican Center, accompanying many in their spiritual journey. He wrote a book for parents and produced many programs for school assemblies, church programs and other organizations. He was a serious gardener who loved to share his knowledge and the fruits of his labor with everyone. He was a kind, patient, accepting, creative soul who deeply loved his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He is now gently nurturing seedlings and making healing music on the other side. Gary is survived by his wife of fifty years, Anne Wakenhut of Vanderbilt; daughter, Jennifer (Jerry) Johnson of Winn and son, Michael Wakenhut of Mt. Pleasant; seven grandchildren, Jessup Hetzman (Jessica Mikel) of Alma, Alyshia (Jordan) Ramon of Crystal, Kane Johnson of Winn, Kaleb Hetzman (Brittinie Finch) of Riverdale, Westyn Gary Holmes, Annie Jane Holmes and Jamie Johnson of Winn; seven great-grandchildren, Noah, Isabelle, Casey, Matthew, Kayden, Luke and Greyson. He was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law, Jane Wunsch Isaacsen and fathers-in-law Dr. Richard Wunsch and Ernest Isaacsen.

Search | Add | 5 | Larry Briers | Laurie T. Briers | Early jazz and dance band pianist born in Newport News, Virginia on December 25 of 1891. It's likely that Briers received his first piano lessons as a kid, and later studied at some conservatory. Briers married his sweetheart Evelyn Russell Groeble on September 6 of 1913 before the 2 newlyweds moved to New York, where Larry Briers obtained employment at the Rector Cafe from the 4th Street, place where he decided to use the artistic name of Larry Briers. It was there when he met clarinet player, violinist & future alto saxophonist Joseph Samuels, who hired him for his orchestra that also played in the Rector Café. Briers did his very first recordings with Samuels's Orchestra for the US branch of Pathé (which later became Pathé Actuelle) on January of 1919, and also recorded with Samuels for Okeh, Emerson, Lyric, the Plaza group (renamed ARC), Gennett, the NYRL group (including Paramount, Puritan, etc.), Arto, Bell, Grey Gull, Edison & Federal among other labels. In addition to recording with the above mentioned Joseph Samuels's Orchestra (& his subset Synco Jazz Band (aka the Tampa Blue Jazz Band, Porter's Blue Devils (Gennett sessions from August 31 of 1923, October 11 of 1923 & November 12 of 1923) & Joseph Samuels's Jazz Band), Briers also managed to record with the Rega Orchestra for Okeh, [a1568094]'s Orchestra (both under Glantz's own name & several pseudonyms such as [a2976919], for example) for several labels, the Blue Ribbon Trio for Okeh, Harry Reser's orchestra & trio (1922 to March of 1923), the Green Brothers Novelty Band (for Edison, Gennett & Okeh among other labels), etc. Briers also accompanied the Harmonizers, Mamie Smith, Clarence Williams & many more vocalists & vocal groups, in addition to appearing on several of Joseph Samuels's violin recordings, some of Harry Reser's earliest banjo solos with piano accompaniment, etc. And if that's not enough, he composed several tunes such as "Just Suppose", "Dew Drop", "Satisfied", "Oh, Joe (Please Don't Go)", "Parson Jenks", "Page Paderewski" (co-written with his boss Joseph Samuels & legendary pianist Pete Wendling), "Fine Feathers" & of course, "Brother Low-Down", which can be considered Briers's greatest hit if we have in mind that it was recorded among others by Bert Williams for Columbia, Al Bernard for Victor, Edison & Brunswick, and of course, Joseph Samuels's (Synco) Jazz Band as the Tampa Blue Jazz Band for Okeh that also included Briers himself at the piano. By 1940, Briers was now living in Franklin, Ohio with his wife Evelyn Russell Groeble & their son James L. Briers (born on 1924). Briers is presumably dead in the period from 1960 or 1970 onwards. |

Often moaned about due to their unyielding addiction to alcohol and mayhem, they consistently entertain and bewilder in equal measures. Regulars at Rebellion festival and UK DIY gigs, they can usually be spotted with their tops off at the bar and leaving a trail of destruction, anarchy and chaos behind them. Their music is varied on their albums but live shows tend to focus on the 'faster' element of their output, but they have been known to occasionally utilise a harpsichord in the live arena. Not suitable for the squeamish or shy. |

Search | Add | 5 | Oxygyn | We are Oxygyn, an indie-pop band based in Malta with a passion for making music that matters. Oxygyn is composed of sibling duo Kurt Abela and Katia Abela, with lyrics written by Kurt Abela, music composed by J A N J U produced by Funky Monkey and Zack on guitar. Our aim is to make music that inspires others, the same music has always inspired us, by exploring important human and social issues through song. Oxygyn was established in December 2015, with the release of our debut original single CORRODE. The song reached No.2 on Malta’s Top 10 Chart (89.7 BAY), and the music video has garnered over 14,000 views on YouTube. We followed this up with WOLVES WITHOUT TEETH, a cover version of the song originally released by Of Monsters & Men, in September 2016. In 2017, we started transitioning from acoustic and piano-based music into a more modern and polished sound that like to describe as indie-pop. We got to perform at several local music festivals for the first time, including the Farsons Beer Festival, Rock the South and the Beland Music Festival, and we also opened for Joe Roscoe during a gig in July. This evolution culminated in the release of our original single BUBBLEWRAP in November 2017, which debuted with radio play on XFM 100.2’s Big Drive Home with Trudy Kerr, and was accompanied by an elaborate music video produced by 141 Records. BUBBLEWRAP reached No.1 on Malta’s Top 10 Chart (89.7 BAY) in January 2018, and the music video reached over 11,000 people on social media in a matter of weeks. In 2020, we hope to release more original material and to continue performing it lives for diverse audiences. Follow us on our social media platforms to stay tuned for more info about upcoming music, gigs and more.

Search | Add | 5 | Wendel Jr. | Wendel Jr. - Percussion Replacement System | "Wendel Jr. is NOT another drum machine. Wendel Jr. is a state of the art, digital, percussion sound replacement device." That is the introduction the Wendel Jr. is given in the manual produced by Wendel Labs Ltd. in 1985. First introduced by [a=Steely Dan] on their [r=844094] album in 1980, the Wendel Jr. soon became a very popular drum sampler/drum machine used by numerous famous artist, groups and producers. The Wendel Jr's drum sounds are 16 bit sounds sampled at 50 kHz, recorded with no equalization on a 3M Digital Mastering System and then digitally transferred through a special interface, into the EPROM's that are in the Wendel Jr. cartridges being used for playback. The sounds recorded in the Wendel Jr. are not chopped off at the end. The natural decay is totally preserved in the memory chips, therefore providing extremely natural sounding sounds. "Think of Wendel Jr's output as a good mic in the right place of a good sounding drum. The phrase 'Realer than real' comes to mind, but I promised that I would not use it in this manual" is how Roger Nichols describes the Wendel Jr. in the manual. |
