Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 3 | The Rice Kryspies | The Rice Kryspies were a 1960s folk-bluegrass group featuring the three Rice brothers (Wayne, Jim, and Joe), along with Wayne’s wife Marci on bass and Pat Stevens on drums. Influenced by the Dillards, they issued at least one single in the mid-sixties and were together for about four years, playing mostly camps, coffee houses, and churches around Southern California. When bassist Marci left the band in 1971, they changed their name to [a=Brush Arbor] and became a Christian, country bluegrass band.

Search | Add | 3 | Aireene Espiritu | American singer, songwriter and musician. She was born in the Philippines and moved to the United States at 10 years old, growing up in the third culture: the old country, the new country and a blend of both worlds. Mainly influenced by listening to Alan Lomax's field recordings from the South and growing up listening to her uncles' Filipino folk guitar fingerpicking, her music is reminiscent of front porch storytelling, of ghosts and the living, times of laughter and tears. She tours solo as well as with her band as Aireene & The Itch.

Search | Add | 3 | Damn The Maps | The name, Damn the Maps, was derived from a philosophy shared by all three band members, that people should follow their own maps, their hearts, and not follow what society says is necessary to be accepted. Regardless of race, creed, political influence etc, the band believes that all people should be true to themselves and not true to the social map. And so the name was established. Singer/Songwriter/Bass Player Martin Green moved to Melbourne from Auckland, New Zealand, following shows there with a ‘kiwi’ line-up, including supports for some of New Zealand’s top bands including The Datsuns, Head Like A Hole, Stellar* and Tadpole. Upon his arrival in Australia in March 2003, Martin joined with Australians, Nicholas Riley (Guitar) and Mark Coats (Drums), to establish a new Damn the Maps’ line-up. Damn the Maps supported Evermore in Melbourne in September 2004 and again in the Victorian towns of Mildura, Belgrave and Mornington in April 2005 during the Evermore national tour. Many Victorian live shows ensued including festivals such as The Apollo Bay Music Festival, Need for Feed Festival, Venus Bay Festival, and the Maitreya Festival. The band’s two EP’s which were released in 2005 and 2006 respectively, received radio play in NZ, on Auckland stations BFM and The Rock, Hamilton’s The Generator, and in Australia, on stations such as Triple J, Triple R, and PBS. Television appearances have included TVNZ’s Good Morning New Zealand. Now as 2008 takes hold, the band has penned their debut album, much to the delight of an ever-increasing fanbase. ‘Input Output’ is released on VENT/Amphead and is also available digitally through Orchard worldwide, from 26 April 2008. The album is a showcase of the band’s diversity and of Martin Green’s obvious skill as a songwriter. The album ebbs and flows across the rock/pop genre with hints of influences such as Muse, Coldplay and Radiohead. Band Members: Martin 'The Moustache' Green (vocals, bass) Nick 'Not Entirely' Riley (guitar, vocals) Huw 'Mad Dog' Elias (drums) - SOURCE: music.net.nz

Search | Add | 3 | Reversio | What could the Lithuanian birbynė / reed-pipe (an original Lithuanian woodwind instrument) and Renaissance and Baroque music of Western Europe have in common? The answer lies in this specially composed chamber music ensemble Reversio (founded by Darius Klišys in 2004) which features birbynė players accompanied by organ/harpsichord and viola da gamba. The idea behind the ensemble - to play early European music using authentic Lithuanian instruments - became their mark of originality: the expressive and contrasting sounds of the birbynė are surprisingly similar to early wind instruments such as the cornett, recorder, oboe, and chalumeau. Performing the early music, the birbynė reveals nuances and colours unheard, highlights the flexibility of compositions, and offers a new look at the early music as well as other musical genres, be it classical or contemporary. Musicians of the Reversio ensemble change according to the programmes, from three to seven musicians playing together. The main repertoire of the ensembles covers those written in the 16th and 17th centuries in Lithuanian and Polish territories. There is also a strong focus on early Italian Baroque.

Search | Add | 3 | Deasel Weasel | Deasel Weasel | Deasel Weasel was founded 2009 in Graz and fills the Austrian stages with their unconventional version of Pop-Rock ever since. The 4 musicians - Alex Vader, Chris Jalen, Markus, and Tom S - already gathered some experience in various musical projects, which now influences their music and work at Deasel Weasel. According to the motto "music with no restrictions!", every sound and style that comes along gets quoted, mixed, and internalized, which makes their work hard to categorize. For years they called their musical style "progressive grind-pop", a term created by a fan and friend, which ought to indicate the variety in the bands repertoire. By now they decided to let that term go and to refer to their music as what it is: easy going pop music with experimental rock-tunes. The name "Deasel Weasel" derives from the weasels associated characteristics - being cute and devious at the same time. A second glance into the cheeky, sarcastic lyrics often "treacherously" shows the songs true meaning, whereas just one listening to the music already lets you feel the energy (hence Diesel). In their everyday band life they do it like the weasel and adapt themselves to different circumstances and improvise. In this sense the band played gigs on 5 qm big stages, spontaneously plugged/unplugged, only for 10 min as well as at 5 o'clock in the morning due to sudden delays and changes. Either way, Deasel Weasel remain faithful to their motto: music with no restrictions! |

Search | Add | 3 | Skulpey | In 1993 Heather Mount and Matthew Covey decamped from the indie-rock crucible of Oberlin College. They then relocated to Trencin, Slovakia, and took up with an emerging local scene with prodigious drummer Palo Chalupka, and formed Skulpey. Infusing the jagged pop of Helium and Rodan with the polyrhythmic churning sound of local bands like Dunaj and Psi Vojaci, the band spent a year gigging around Slovakia and Czech Republic, including and early show at the Pohoda Festival. The band completed one U.S. tour and a SXSW showcase before going on what proved to be a more or less permanent hiatus in 1999. Covey and Mount continued to play into the aughts, doing limited European dates as “Schooner,” including the Sziget Festival in 2001.

Search | Add | 3 | Discröyd | DISCRÖYD from Munich/Bavaria is a metal band with a well-marked DIY-attitude. Based on their diverse individual influences they cover several metal and rock-styles from Thrash and Hardcore to Hard Rock and Doom, creating a unique alcohol-soaked sound - oldschool without being antiquated and heavy without being monotonous. Their story began in 2008 when the two ex-Hateful Agony members Matt (guitar) and Marty (bass) decided to start Munich's next big thing after meeting and drinking at a Hanoi Rocks concert. Shortly afterwards AD/AC Motörwelt drummer Matthias joined the band (then called Beermöb). Tim, singer and guitarist of Speedwhore, completed the line-up in late 2008 after having quite a few drinks with Matt in a bar. Several months later they finished writing songs for their first album, started to play gigs and began to record their first full lengths album by themselves – now under the name of DISCRÖYD. Their lyrics cover much-loved topics like alcohol abuse (say what?!), sex and violence, but also obscure, science fiction and sociocritical themes. So far they shared the stage with bands like The Accüsed, Ramming Speed, Alpha Tiger, Indyus and many more. The band finally released their first self-titled CD in late 2013 - also available as a limited cassette tape.

Search | Add | 3 | Willie Bovain | Keyboardist Willie Bovain was born in 1944 in San Diego, California. He began playing the piano and organ at the age of 9. His first training was in his father's church, Reverend John Bovain. At the age of 21, he plays in clubs with his trio and is very successful everywhere he plays. Chuck Johnson, General Manager of Rhythm & Blues' first local radio station "XEGM" and his "Soul 95" program in San Diego, discovered Willie Bovain on his shows. In 1969, for Bovain's only album, Chuck Johnson co-wrote several songs with Willie, and composed the excellent "Love Walk", the album also included a beautiful version of "Hurt So Bad". Aside from his only album, Willie Bovain recorded two singles, one on Radio City RC-1000: Willie Bovain Trio "Soul In The Morning / Carnival Of Soul" and another on Soul City SC-1000: Willie Bovain And The Rocks "Sippin ' Soul "which is a kind of" Hurt So Bad "revisited, coupled with a title that appears on the album" Patricia's Delight ". Both labels seem related because Radio City is published by Soul City Pub. Co.

Search | Add | 3 | Trainwreck Ghost | Trainwreck Ghost aka Trainwreck Ghosts (in the early years) is the project of singer-songwriter, musician and producer Roger Prescott. They were based originally in Los Angeles and later in Austin,Texas. Original members included Eddie Munoz of The Plimsouls, Tim Henderson of The Pop, Robert Williams and Kent Houseman. Trainwreck Ghost played hundreds of shows in both cities as well as touring the USA. They have released three albums and one cassette of original material so far as Trainwreck Ghost. The band also performed acoustically as The Holy Boys, playing a mash-up of Appalachian, Cajun, and Country, often doing left-field covers of songs such as "Love Will Tear Us Apart by Joy Division and "A House Is Not A Motel" by Authur Lee & Love. The Holy Boys released one CD of live performances and studio recordings in 1998. A little more about Trainwreck Ghost: Originally based in Los Angeles and later in Austin Texas. Trainwreck Ghost played constantly in L.A. at Raji's, Club Lingerie, The Central, (now the Viper Room), Al's Bar, The Gaslight, The Anti-Club, Madame Wong's, The Music Machine, Club 88, The Coconut Teaser and many other venues up and down the West Coast. They recorded a number of early tracks at the famous Venice Beach studio Radio Tokyo and on a trusty Teac 4-track deck in a home garage studio dubbed "Piss Bucket" (for it's lack of bathroom facilities.) After moving to Austin they were regulars at The Continental Club, Liberty Lunch, The Hole in the Wall, and The Steamboat among others. They added the late-great bluesman Alex Napier (from early Stevie Ray Vaughn band, The Cobras, and Will and The Kill featuring Will Sexton) on bass guitar soon after the move to Austin. Trainwreck Ghosts recorded an EP, "The Phantom Tapes" and their 1st LP, "The Blood Won't Wash Out" with Aaron White at Austin's 6th Street Studios and rehearsed at the legendary hangout and rehearsal space ARC in South Austin. Members of various line-ups of Trainwreck Ghost were songwriter-guitarist Roger Prescott, guitarist Eddie Munoz (from The Plimsouls), drummer, percussionist & dobro player Robert Williams, bass players Tim Henderson, Jaime Carter and Alex Napier, and guitarist and sometimes bass player Kent Earl Housman.
