Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 Spam Animals Spam Animals is really only a convenient header for a series of ad-hoc collaborations which were done during 1986 & 1987. A lot of the material produced by this pairing was very much "tongue in cheek" and, to a certain extent, this puts the work in the category of a "fuck band" in that it was often about indulging in private jokes rather than trying to produce anything too serious.

Search Add 3 Slithey Tove The band was germinated when Simon Whaley (guitar) met Simon Burgin (guitar) in an Essex college in 1989 and went to work on Whaley’s backlog of demos, musical whiffs and nick nacks. They made ‘The Si’s tape’ which became an inspiration and quickly a band materialised via college friends Aaron Liddard (sax) and Toby Baron (drums) to develop the tunes. The band was completed with Conrad Winchester (bass) and occasional Steve Baker (guitar/perc) from psyche band Triptych. Together they started to gig, embellishing the tunes with extended jams and never playing a song the same way twice. They played double bills with The Green Ray around East London, for whom Simon was drummer with his brother Ken Whaley on bass. Burgin and Liddard were also Green Ray players later on. Slithey Tove quickly became a draw for their fun psychedelic gigs with odd timings and mid-song genre shifts. The band’s on-stage joy was infectious. They were soon playing the mushroom parties and pub skittle alleys of Devon, to the student digs of Manchester, as well as demos and squats, thriving in the heady days of the free-festival scene in the early 90s. They also played Glastonbury, Norfolk Festival of the Sun and Cambridge’s Strawberry Fair. The Tove family grew with the addition of Doug Southall (vox) from ‘Blitzed’ and David Reed (percussion) to become a tighter and more versatile band, weaving humour with highly practiced syncopations akin to Zappa, with the spirit of Gong and the driving riffs of Zeppelin. At other times they could be gentle and pastorale. Their gigs became an ironic pastiche; a smorgasbord of styles that offered unpredictability and musical surprises. Some of their range is demonstrated on this album. An exciting support act, Slithey Tove played with The Crazy World of Arthur Brown and Doctor and the Medics and were occasionally joined by Ozric Tentacles’ flautist Jumping John. As the decade wore on and the free festival scene became prohibited, the band slowly disintegrated with little to show except a handful of live recordings. Conrad moved away and formed Whip the Minister, Toby became the drummer for Ray Davis. Aaron moved to Manchester to become a renowned jazz saxophonist and later joined Amy Winehouse’s band at her peak. Simons Whaley and Burgin continued with The Green Ray, where Whaley still resides, now on guitar. After Simon Burgin’s sad passing in 2000 the band came together to support The Green Ray in Walthamstow once again, joined on bass by Jonty Bankes whilst on sabbatical from The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, and the magic was reignited. They continued to play gigs here and there for a while but commitments, babies and emigration got in the way, so Aaron suggested recording an album instead. Several years of studious tinkering later and we are proud to share the results. So here it is folks! Slithey Tove’s Big Top of musical acts.

Around 2003 there were plans for a split album with Johnny Hobo and the Freight Trains that never materialised.

Search Add 3 Ordo Cosma This one-man project, created by Pedro Giordano Dungortheb (also known for Altú Págánach), is an exploration of sound and concept that merges extreme music with esoteric and literary dimensions. While it preserves the dark, ritualistic tone of his earlier works, the project shifts away from a purely Tolkien-inspired narrative into a more ambitious territory, defined by occult, metaphysical, and cosmological themes. Musically, it situates itself as experimental black doom metal with cosmic elements. Its foundation lies in massive, slow-moving structures, dissonant blackened riffing, and atmospheric layering that dissolves the borders between heaviness and ambience. Vocals extend across registers—from cavernous growls to whispered invocations—designed to act as an additional layer of texture rather than traditional delivery. Subtle electronic passages and ambient soundscapes introduce a spatial, cosmic character, intensifying the immersive qualities of the compositions. The conceptual framework is strongly influenced by the literary and RPG universe of Space Ordiman, a vast mythos authored by Dungortheb himself. The music incorporates settings, archetypes, and philosophical ideas from this narrative cosmos, treating each composition as both a fragment of lore and a symbolic ritual. In this sense, the project is inseparable from the larger body of fictional and metaphysical work: the songs function as echoes of stories, characters, and cosmic struggles described in the game and its literary expansions. This integration transforms the project into more than a musical endeavor. It becomes a multi-layered platform where extreme music, speculative fiction, and ancient esoteric traditions converge. Each release is structured as a self-contained cycle that resonates with the role-playing framework of Space Ordiman—an aural extension of a mythological and philosophical universe, articulated through sound, atmosphere, and ritual.

Search Add 3 Elemental Artificial Sphere The first get-together between Andre Fedorow, Evangelos Mihailidis, Daniel Salinger and Sven Arnold, who where later to become the band EAS, happened at a musician's party in 2003. André Fedorow, who was already known by the artist/producer name "Julian Styles", had various productions and releases behind him so it wasn't a surprise that he got the demos from Sven Arnold and Daniel Salinger that evening. Meanwhile Andre was taking care of various studio productions in 2004 and he came up with more and more ideas for own song material. For the live gigs that were to follow however, he needed the right musicians. Right from the very beginning it was clear, that Sven Arnold should sing the lead vocals. Daniel Salinger was already known through his demo that Andre received at the party. To complete the live band Andre had the studio click track proofed Evangelos Mihailidis in mind who he knew from previous studio productions. These musicians were asked and joined the project immediately. The first incarnation of the band EAS was born and this line up performed various gigs and released some CDs between 2004 – 2007. Sven Arnold left the band in 2007 and was replaced by Sascha Theel for a certain period of time. EAS performs music betweens rock, progressive rock, electronica and pop.

An avid writer of poetry and short stories, Konphlicted fell in love with the blend of lyricism and soulful undertones that is RAP music. His style is an unique blend of complex multi-syllabic lyrics, layered metaphors, and brutal honesty. Instead of chasing fame, Konphlicted writes to stimulate the soul and invoke contemplation. After making the move to Memphis, Konphlicted decided to pursue his passion. It was here he met [a=Mr. Sche], CEO of Immortal Productions, and the music making soon followed. With a recent release of his first project “Ready the EP”, Konphlicted is throwing the knockout blow with his debut album “daWicKedwAys & Softer Shades”.

Search Add 3 Linda Lou McCall Linda Lou McCall Linda Lou's career spans almost 4 decades, starting as a photography and publicist, and now as a songwriter & music industry consultant specializing in entertainment marketing, street promotion, and artist development. She has worked with veterans like The Delfonics and Con Funk Shun to contemporary artists like MC Hammer and Eminem. While with Con Funk Shun, she designed album covers, created album concepts, served as the production assistant on their albums, and co-wrote songs for the band like "California 1", "Bad Lady", "Honey Wild", "Promise You Love", and "I Think I Found The Answer". She went on to be a VP with rap megastar MC Hammer from 1990 to 1992. In 1992, Linda Lou formed The Entertainment Qartel, Inc, (EQartel), specializing in music business administration, entertainment marketing and street promotion. She relocated from North Hollywood to Atlanta in 1994 and quickly built up a solid client base with artists like OutKast, Goodie Mob, Notorious B.I.G., Puff Daddy, T.L.C., Jay-Z, Will Smith, Three-6 Mafia, Tupac, Faith Evans, and 112. As a member of the first Interscope Records Street Team, her Atlanta-based Rhyme Scene Unit Street Marketing Task Force was instrumental in the success of the debut albums of Eminem, Mya, and the Black Eyed Peas. Linda Lou was the wife of Con Funk Shun co-founder & drummer, Louis A. McCall, whom she met while they both worked at Stax Records in the mid 1970's. Louis was killed in a home invasion robbery in 1997. Linda Lou spent the next decade fighting to keep Louis' case from going cold, even persuading the Governor of Georgia to reopen the case in 2003. Her hard work finally paid off - on January 18, 2007, a Dekalb County, GA grand jury indicted a suspect on a felony murder charge. The case went to trial on July 21, 2008. However, due to problems with the state's case, the judge declared a mistrial just hours after the jury began deliberation. Linda Lou asked that the defendant not be retried so that she and her children could get on with their lives. Linda Lou excepts select consulting projects through her company Exxtra Foxx Music, LLC, the music publishing company that she's owned since 1981. In her spare time, Linda Lou volunteers as a consumer protection activist and lupus awareness advocate. She been a voting member of The Recording Academy ("The Grammy Awards") since 1977. The songs that she wrote for Con Funk Shun continue to be in demand. "Honey Wild", recorded by Con Funk Shun in 1980, was recently sampled for "Kush" by rapper Lil Wayne on his top-selling album, "Tha Carter III", released in June 2008. Along with partner Ruben L. Harper and her son Louis A. McCall II, she heads up a team of producer/songwriters. She has recently expanded the services of Exxtra Foxx Music to include consulting in song publishing and sample clearances. One of Linda Lou's photographs taken of the legendary R&B trio The Delfonics is included in the Smithsonian Institute's exhibition "Ain't Nothing Like The Real Thing: How the Apollo Theater Shaped American Entertainment" at the National Museum of African-American History & Culture, currently in Washington, DC through August 2011, and touring the country until 2012.
