Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Frakah | Mark Pearson, David Hogg, Giles Ball, Steve Ford | Frakah are a bunch of knob-twiddlers straight out of the Midlands. They fuse local accents with daft haircuts and have recently become thoroughly house-trained. You could even take em home to meet your mother! After their debut release on Sound Of Spectrum records they received some Radio 1 airplay as well as being featured on a DJ Magazine cover CD mixed by DJ Miss Ill. With another release on Sound Of Spectrum coming soon plus a very hot Late Of The Pier remix being supported by none other than Erol Alkan, Frakah could be a name to watch. |

Search | Add | 2 | John Yalley | David Wanyou | John Yalley, born David Wanyou in 1955 in Gagnoa, is an Ivorian singer. In the 1980s, he took the name of John Mayal. This is the time when he scoured the clubs of Abidjan with his group, the Black Devils. He would later join Les Scorpions then Les Shafts, after having been known as a Ziglibithy dancer alongside Ernesto Djédjé. In 1985, he appeared on stage at the Houphouët-Boigny stadium with zêzê-pop. He did not then experience the expected success. But from the 1990s, begins for the zêzê-pop, an important recognition. John Mayal becomes John Yalley. The name means "suffering" in Bété. Later John Yalley creates Les Kyffys (The Chefs), a transnational group and then takes the name of John Kyffys. With his companions, John Yalley enjoyed dazzling success, both in Côte d'Ivoire and outside the borders of his country of origin. |

Search | Add | 2 | Snekhoose | Snekhoose is a collaborative project between [a=Jonah Hebron] (aka [a=Mzungu], [a=Cacero Lazo]) and [a=Rupert Spurrier]. Conceived of as a blend between folk and drone, the forthcoming debut EP Oscar Pray for Oscar the Dog treads the line between electronic and traditional music. The manner in which the music has been created is unique. The instruments used in the album, an acoustic guitar and a Microkorg, are treated in the manner of musique concrete – as samples to be broken apart, split and assembled. As the artists live in separate cities, York and Edinburgh respectively, this manipulation was present at a digital level as the files were passed to and fro, each artist adding layers of sound on top of the others. These pieces were then supplemented by snippets of live performance recordings.

It began as an experiment with a common interest in live audio-visual compositions by which sound and images produced are derived from the same set of signals. Just as synthesizers can produce sound, they can also produce images. In essence, by interchangeably using frequencies that we can both see and hear, “nuuun” aims to give a new perspective on the relationship between sound and image.

Search | Add | 2 | Kristin Forbes | Kristin Forbes was born to be a musician. A distant relative of the composer Tchaikovsky, she has been playing music since she was three, when she heard a song on the radio, went to the family piano, and figured out how to play it. She started playing guitar in high school and in college, upon playing in her first band, realized that pursuing music was the life she had to live. She recorded and toured as a solo artist for years in Boston before moving to Washington, DC to play keys with The Travis Morrison Hellfighters (frontman of The Dismemberment Plan). It was in DC in 2005 that she met Olivia Mancini and picked up bass to play in her band, Olivia Mancini & The Mates, which she performed in faithfully for 15 years. She also went on to play bass in The Andalusians, who have a 7" on DC's seminal punk label, Dischord Records. Kristin now lives in Baltimore and has rediscovered her love for playing Jamaican music. Dubbed Lady Hatchet by her peers, Kristin is the fearless leader of The Scotch Bonnets, her punky reggae band that also serves as an outlet for her song-writing. Since their start in 2009, the Bonnets have released two full length albums (Live Ya Life, self-released in 2013 and Come On Over, released on Jump Up Records in 2019), an EP (Quest, released on Morphius Records in 2014), a 7" single (The District, released on Jump Up Records in 2017), and have tracks on numerous compilations. The band backed and recorded with HR, singer from Bad Brains, and twice toured backing Roddy Radiation, lead guitarist of The Specials. The band has toured regionally every year since 2014 and in 2019, they embarked on two cross country tours, once in February to open for American ska founders, The Toaters, and again in June to play the Victoria Ska & Reggae Festival in Victoria, BC. Later that fall, they went out with The Toasters again for a southeast run. In the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic, The Scotch Bonnets embarked on two successful all-outdoor Midwest tours in 2021 and 2022. Hatchet used to considers herself “the utility infielder” in Baltimore’s premiere ska-reggae band The Players Band because, since her start with them in 2008, she has sang, played guitar, bass, even keys when necessary! However, starting in 2023, Kristin has become the permanent bassist of the band as they head into the studio to record their fourth album. She also plays in the only all-female, roots-reggae crew, Strykers Posse: Sistren In Power. During the pandemic, she helped start Rude Girl Revue, an all-female all-star ska band that played headlining festival gigs around the US and UK in 2022, as well as playing festival highlight sets at the Supernova International Ska Festival in 2021 and 2023. In 2011, Kristin spent a month on the Vans Warped Tour playing with Angelo Moore, singers/saxophonist from Fishbone, and the songs they wrote during this collaboration were released in 2015 on the Japanese album Ska Do Au Ska Don't. Kristin spent time in 2013 in the band of NYC ska capo King Django, and in 2015 she filled in on guitar with NYC’s longtime Jamaican music stalwarts The Slackers on their European and Canadian tours. In 2018, she subbed for DC ska-soul hooligans, The Pietasters on keys and later traveled to Mexico to fill in with The Toasters for a week on bass. In 2022, Hatchet was The Slackers' first call to sub for them again on guitar. She also expanded her solo act, opening for The English Beat at the historic Birchmere club in Alexandria, VA, as well as touring Europe by herself, playing the Big One 20 Festival in the UK and travelling by train from city to city to play club gigs on the continent. In 2023, she ventured out by herself into the US, doing a tour to San Antonio, Texas to play Ska By Southwest. It was on this tour that Kristin played her first singer-songwriter showcase in Nashville to an enthusiastic response ("I feel like I just watched a masterclass in songwriting!" exclaimed one industry onlooker). She also did a solo tour of the Midwest, this time bringing her Rude Girl Revue bandmate Dunia Best (founder of 90s NYC ska pioneers, Agent 99) along for her first van tour. Subsequently, Kristin has occasionally been playing guitar in Best's project with her husband, Dunia & Aram. Kristin is proud to be endorsed by Reverend Guitars. Kristin has also started her 16th year teaching music lessons in the Washington DC-area. When filling out tax forms and loan applications, Kristin is very grateful to write "professional musician" on the occupation line.

Search | Add | 2 | Bury The Bully | Whitby, Ontario, Canada Rock band Bury the Bully are really in touch with their inner Zen masters. Drummer Cala’s warm smile and polite demeanor supports the hippie-esque perspective BtB portrays. From the flower, fire and water album artwork, to the album name Life, Death & Wonder, to their love, peace, faith and freedom influences listed on Myspace, BtB emanates strong positive energy. Vocalist/guitarist Rich McPherson, bassist Mike Paglia, guitarist Steve Parker and drummer Cala (whose full name is oddly elusive) have been playing together for 10 years. After winning the Golden Ear award on Jonovision’s Jonopalooza, BtB was approached by Pete Lesperance (Harem Scarem). Along with co-producer Mike Turner (Our Lady Peace), Lesperance became a mentor to BtB. With support by their side, the boys took BtB to the “next level” and in 2007 they released their debut album Life, Death & Wonder. The result is a seamless 13 song musical journey. With lyrics such as “fight in the army of love,” “stop this life and show some insight” and “capture freedom here in our cage,” BtB serenade their listener with socially and personally aware melodic poetry. Interview With Bury The BullyBury The BullyAmidst the bleak cloud of societal complexity, BtB stands in a clear pool of simplicity. The album is threaded with the common theme of rising above adversity and whatever burdens may be preventing one from accomplishing their dream. “Everyone keeps saying we [modern society] are in so much trouble. We should really be thankful for what we have now instead of trying to control this and that. We should focus on the things we have control of and be thankful,” Cala advised. Along with being thankful for their fortunes, BtB is active and generous in supporting various charities. They have raised money through their live shows for breast cancer, “Bury the Cancer” and Sick Kids. “I suggested ‘Bury the Sick Kids’, but it didn’t go over very well,” Cala morbidly jests. Bury The BullyBtB have spent the last year touring mostly around Ontario, with many shows in and around Toronto. They are currently working on new material. “It’s pretty exciting because the album took three years and it is the fist time since that we have done anything new. We are starting to get a new found motive/outlook on what music means to us and what we can accomplish in the future,” Cala said.
