Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Street Organ Use only for Dutch street organs (draaiorgels) that are not identified by name, but as "Street Organ." Use [a=Draaiorgel] instead where it appears like that on the release. A Dutch street organ (draaiorgel) is much larger than the conventional [a=Street Barrel Organ]. Equipped with multiple ranks of pipes and percussion, they play book music (thick perforated cardboard pages folded in book form) instead of perforated paper rolls and are often mounted on a trailer so that they can be pulled by a light truck, or they have their own engine on the front of the chassis. Originally, Dutch street organs were operated by turning a large handle that operated both the bellows/reservoir and the card-feed mechanism. Nowadays, most Dutch street organs have been converted to belt drive from a small battery powered motor or donkey engine. Many Dutch street organs have been recorded under their specific name, e.g., [a=Draaiorgel De Arabier], [a=Draaiorgel De Barometer], [a=Draaiorgel "De Cementmolen"], [a=Draaiorgel De Drie Pruiken], [a=Draaiorgel "Dubbeldik"], [a=Draaiorgel "De Kempenaer"], [a=Draaiorgel De Klok], [a=Draaiorgel "De Lekkerkerker"], [a=Draaiorgel "De Mandarijn"], [a=Draaiorgel De Pelikaan], [a=Draaiorgel "De Sater"], [a=Draaiorgel "De Sik"], [a=Draaiorgel De Turk], [a=Het Draaiorgel "De Veronica"], [a=Draaiorgel de Vijfbeelden], [a=Draaiorgel "De Waterpoorter"], [a=Draaiorgel "De Zeventiger"], [a=Gavioli Draaiorgel Jupiter].

Search Add 2 Plástev Plástev This jazz quintet sprang into existence in exactly the same mysterious way as it melted away after 1987. At the beginning was the sound of an electrified bass clarinet which in the hands of Eduard Kuhn sounded differently than in classical music. This player appeared as a guest of the jazz-rock group Jazz Fragment, which brought him together with pianist Aleš Faix. And when the bass clarinet and the piano were joined by the flute, it laid the foundations of the group which began to call itself Plástev. The band finally formed and settled with Eduard Kuhn – bass clarinet and saxophone, Jiří Šilhán – flute, Aleš Faix – piano, Jan Střížovský – contrabass and Ivo Kalvínský – percussion. This way Plástev played in the jazz clubs Parnas and Reduta, shot its TV profile in The Musical Studio M and toured Germany and Italy. Each member at that time also performed with another band which weakened Plástev to the extent that it finally became silent. This continued up to the year 2011 when Aleš Faix invited his former playmates to his birthday party and asked them directly whether they would like to revive the band. It might have been thanks to their elevated mood that they agreed and began to occupy themselves with the resurrection of the band. The reconstruction of the original music required a whole year of practising, but several new pieces for the alto saxophone came into being during that time as well. Plástev recorded them in St. Lawrence's Concert Hall in Lesser Town of Prague with the help of the Steinway piano masterpiece. The album »Light at the Beginning of the Tunnel« is a cross-section of both the original and the new repertoire and Plástev disproves the thesis that »nothing improves with age«. After twenty-five years its members are more musically mature and they play with even greater vigour and enthusiasm than before. To refresh your memory, the album also contains two tracks of the Czech Radio from the 1980s – The East spiced with Indian tabla and the jazz-rock version of the Vervain.

Search Add 2 Dull Entertainment Programme DEP rose from the ashes/inactivity of MINORITY, which was one of the focal points of the Kuantan scene in the early 90s and played numerous times in KL including gracing the now legendary stage at Piccadilly, Damansara. Dull Entertainment Programme came out of that and played its first show in 1995. After releasing a slew of demos and an EP, gigging around generally being active, including running their own label, DEP faded into the ether in 2002. It started with a band called Minority back in 1990 in Kuantan, Pahang. The band consists of Pete (guitar), Acai (bass), Puyu (vocal) and Naen (drums). After been playing covers (from The Ramones, Ear Damage, Sub-Society, Dead Kennedys, Buzzcocks, Sex Pistols and Misfits, just to name a few) for some time, Pete (who’s a kid brother for Ili and Abang from The Pilgrims) decided that they should do their own songs. With RM70, they recorded an 8 songs demo entitled “Quantity Doesn’t Matter” sometime between 91-92. Been gigging at only a few venues (including funfairs) in Kuantan and Temerloh and the most memorable one, supporting The Pilgrims in “Away From The Numbers” at Picaddily, Damansara PJ, together with Future Primitives and The Stone Crows and few other bands. In between this active progression of Minority, Acai had been approached by Wan (Spirit Alcohol) to do a side project band, which was yet to be named. The idea was discussed, when Acai was supporting Wan, playing bass for his rehearsal tape project. They jammed a few sessions with Wan on guitars, Acai on bass and the drummer(who if not mistaken) was Wan’s cousin. At times, they will be joined by Shahril (By Side Off) on guitar and Wan will be on drums. The band didn’t last long mainly because of lost of direction or maybe… lost interest. However, the idea of forming a band with Wan didn’t end there, as Acai feels it’s important that, besides Minority… Kuantan needs another active band to bloom… By the agreement (and by the power of GreySkull) of Acai on guitar and vocals, Tojeng on bass and Wan on drums, DEP started to venture the nasty world of the underground (intended to make it sounds dramatic)… Back to Minority, circa 94 – 95, they seemed had lost their touches and senses when everyone in the band was particularly busy with their lives. Pete had been into lots of Islamic learning and been devoting himself extremely towards this direction. Naen was rarely to be found available as most of the times engaged with his SUKMA shooting activities/trainings. Puyu will only be around if Naen and Pete are present. This left Acai with no time to waste and get DEP to be in full force that very instant. DEP had made it’s debut appearance at TMS Dangdut Disco, Kuantan in 95. They had also supported Carburetor Dung together with few other bands at the same venue. During this active time, DEP has an avid follower who never fail to attend to their shows and even during their practise sessions. His name is Panther and he joined them on bass replacing Tojeng who later took 2nd guitar. They became more powerful than ever. From there, they have been actively gigging (around KL and Kuantan) and writing new materials and later decided to cut a self-released/self-titled EP in 96 at Bach & Traz Studio in Bangsar, KL. Few months after the EP was released, Wan suddenly decided to leave DEP due to some personal reasons. Fortunately, the emptiness was immediately filled by Little Jam’s Asma, and DEP was back on track again. They managed to cut another release entitled ‘Dullaby’ around September 99 at Zanzibar Magic Studio, in Ampang KL. An 8 songs (plus 2 short intro and outro) release and was produced collaboratively between Oz Yusof (Naked Butterfly) and DEP. They still did some shows up till 2002 and later became less and less active. Circa 2003-2007 they were almost on a hiatus. But make no mistake…they had never leave the scene, but only remain dormant and…DULL!!!
