Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026
Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 4 | King-Kill/33° | Combining disorienting visuals, conspiracy mumbo-jumbo, and tautly-wound electric/eccentric rock, King-Kill/33* was absolutely one of the most exciting and intriguing groups of the Atlanta indie rock scene peak of the early '90s. Forming in the summer of 1990 in the "King-Kill house", (the band) took it's name from a James Shelby Downard essay published by Adam Parfrey in his book Apocalypse Culture. "The essay is about the Kennedy assassination" bassist Donna Smith explained in an interview with Mouth magazine shortly after the group's formation. "It has a lot of numerological and Masonic symbolism. King-Kill/33* was a plot to kill the divine king, which was seen as the only Catholic and non-Mason President in some time," to which vocalist Mitch Foy, who suggested the name added, "The essays are fascinating, there's plenty of mind food in it, but it's not something we promote. We're not anti-Mason, we're not pro-Mason. It's a starting point to play around with." King-Kill/33* released a handful of singles and compilation appearances in their three years, but they truthfully had to be experienced live to be fully appreciated. More effectively than any other local group at the time, and usually more effectively than any visual-oriented group anywhere, King-Kill utilized an armory of films, slides, strobes, transparencies, and other sorts of visual overload, projected against and behind them as they played. Add to this Foy's affinity for provoking performance art and costumes (his most memorable outfit involved crude stilts made from "blocks of wood two feet high, with some old sneakers bolted into the top of 'em", on which he would teeter above the crowd and his band mates), and King-Kill/33* was an act not soon forgotten. -Jeff Clark (Stomp and Stammer) | |

| Search | Add | 4 | Büchner-Kapelle | German music band founded and directed by [a10529086]. For the orchestra, please use: [a3604659] All information is from the following site (maybe someone can revise my translation errors): https://grammophon-platten.de/page.php?422 "Max Büchner was a trained music teacher and one of the pioneers of gramophone and cylinder recordings. He was one of the most frequently recorded orchestras in the imperial era. He was one of the first to understand how to arrange recordings so that the final product sounded good. Büchner was probably born in Berlin in 1862. His father ran a cloakroom and costume rental shop in town in the 1880s. The son Max Büchner was first listed in the Berlin address book in 1887 - profession: music teacher. It can be assumed that in addition to this activity, he has already directed an orchestra. Unfortunately, the old newspapers from the 19th century rarely mention the name (s) of the Kapellmeister at events. Little is known about Max Büchner's actual professional career. 1901, Büchner then traded as Kapellmeister. Resident at Fürbringerstr. 28. In the meantime, Büchner has bought the parental home. Presumably the mother continues to hire masks and cloakrooms. According to the obituary, Max Büchner made his first (cylinder) recordings in 1898. This was followed by many recordings for the Edison company in Berlin. The musician (including straw violin and glockenspiel) and conductor operated here as the Edison Symphony Orchestra or the Berlin Symphony Orchestra. Some of the recordings on roller were also released in the USA. The first record companies quickly became aware of this "funnel - suitable" orchestra. Many recordings were probably made without naming their names. The "Büchner Orchestra" could also be hiding behind the collective term "orchestra" on recordings from the turn of the century. With increasing popularity, the name Büchner-Orchester, Berlin appears more and more on the labels. The recordings that were made under the direction of Max Büchner must be in the hundreds - possibly even more. The obituary suggests - Max Büchner spent a lot of time in the recording rooms for a wide variety of companies. The well-rehearsed repertoire covered almost the whole range of required music. From light classical music to marches and folk pieces, to antics and cakewalk, there was hardly a musical genre that the Büchner orchestra did not take up. For the busy musician and quasi-king of the Berlin record studios, this secured a good livelihood with a high probability. Perhaps, however, he "took over" himself with all the jobs from the speaking machine industry; Max Büchner died in 1906 at the age of just 44 from complications from a cold." | |

They performed novelty arrangements of ragtime tunes from the 1920's, arranged by Capitol's Sonny Anderson and conducted by Johnny Smith. This group only exists on the 1961 recording Saxophobia, released in mono and stereo editions. Though the cover shows a quintet of sax-toting clowns, these were not the actual players on the album. | Search | Add | 4 | Eric Easton | Eric Easton (1927–1995) was an English record producer and the first manager of British rock group [a=The Rolling Stones]. Originally from Lancashire, he joined the music industry playing the organ in music halls and cinemas. By the 1960s he had moved into management and talent spotting, operating from an office suite in London's Regent Street. Easton met [a=Andrew Loog Oldham] in 1963; Oldham wanted to sign an unknown band, called the Rolling Stones, about whom he was enthusiastic. After a number of problems on an American tour, in 1965 Oldham decided to oust Easton from the partnership and bring in New York promotor Allen Klein. Oldham persuaded members of the group to support him and Easton was sacked. The band, with the exception of [a=Bill Wyman], acquiesced. Easton launched a number of lawsuits for breach of contract, and eventually settled out of court for a large sum. In 1980 he and his family emigrated to Naples, Florida, where he went into business; his son, Paul, also became a music manager and booking agent. | |

| Search | Add | 4 | The Evolution of the Arm | The Evolution of the Arm channels imaginary chamber music from an alternate universe. A quartet of improvisers drawing on collective experience in classical, jazz, experimental, noise, and theater music, they’ve developed their telepathic connection across genre, time, and space. The group first convened in November 2017 in Buffalo, NY under the creative auspices of Western New York expatriate Michael McNeill (keyboards, composition). Having worked together in various combinations in Wooden Cities, Buffalo Bach Project, and Parvenue, Mike called upon Megan Kyle (oboe, English horn), Evan Courtin (violin, voice), and Katie Weissman (cello, electronics) to join him in this new endeavor. Very quickly, the group decided to focus solely on their own compositions. Since 2017, the Evolution of the Arm has performed at various venues in Buffalo and McNeill’s new home state of Virginia. Throughout this time, the group’s repertoire has come to include the original semi-composed/semi-improvised suite Jackrabbit’s Palace by McNeill, Courtin’s trio pawns for oboe, cello and voice (featuring poetry by Marina Blitshteyn) and pieces of Kyle’s ongoing text-score project, the Invisible Series. Weissman frequently rounds out programs with cello and electronics improvisations. In the summer of 2019 the group recorded their debut album Sounds Like with engineer Chris Jacobs at the University at Buffalo. Their individual and collective musical explorations continue to evolve. | |

| Search | Add | 4 | A Dozen Dying Roses | In these increasingly violent times, heavy music has become just as brutal. A Dozen Dying Roses are the emotion of today’s youth. Formed in 2004 from the ashes of numerous fallen bands, ADDR has risen. Through passion, conviction, and pure hostility towards the society that has been built around them, like many great sounds, sorrow and hope are the catalyst. Like most bands the age of its members plays a part in the how the songwriting is influenced. ADDR ranges in age from 19 to 29. This makes for an interesting mix of old school hardcore and metal traditions, and modern day melodies and ideals. Basically it’s metal as haunting as the Swedish innovators, with breakdowns that rival the heaviest hitters of today. With 2 successful demos under there arm ADDR are ready for bigger and better things. Through dedication this band has become a force in there scene and are growing in popularity with every venture made from there home in Staten Island, NY. | |

A dabbler in any artistic medium, 'The Half Artist's' eventual manifestation came after many names and many years of obsessively writing and recording half finished songs, sketches, poems and projects. As his writing became more intricate and experimental, and less to the formula of songwriting, he soon found a new intriguing unknown where he could further grow, Poetry Slamming. This soon lead to the National Poetry Slam state finals, numerous other slam wins and frequent invitations to perform at spoken word events. He is now a well respected something or other in a world where they probably don't even know he makes music. During this flourish of word nerding, he quietly penciled in all nighters and disgusting amounts of persistance to experiment, study and learn the art of Beatmaking, Sampling and Production. For the love of all things soul intertwining and expressive. |

| Search | Add | 4 | H.A.L.O. Vessel | HALO Vessel began after Ed Matus decided to take a break from the Miami Hardcore scene and go straight into the world of experimental electronica. Armed with a drum machine, an old synthesizer and an army of noisy guitar pedals he began to record a series of 4 track recordings which caught the attention of Audio Electric. In 1998, Audio Electric released his first full length effort. The self titled full length (also known as "Post Miami Vice Electronics" drew heavily from the influences of Herbie Hancock, Kraftwerk, and Jan Hammer, but still showed off a noisy and raw sensibility which gave Matus a reputation for making sonically organic electronic music. Though certain trademarks would remain evident, his overall sound and direction evolved into what became his second release for Audio Electric, "Honest Men" E.P. Released in 2002, "Honest Men" was a quantum leap in terms of sound and style. In the first HALO Vessel full length, the overall vision was of smooth rhythms and futuristic synths. In "Honest Men", rhythms became aggressive, destructive, and pregnant with heavy bass. The synths were no longer smooth and futuristic. In "Honest Men", they became jagged, and at times, even howled like gigantic rusting machinery. Aesthetically speaking, Matus was displaying a different future than the one he showed in his first release. After the live experience of HALO Vessel, Matus deliberately set out to make a recording which almost sounded live as opposed to the very dry and sterile production heard in many IDM recordings of the time. | |

| Search | Add | 4 | KUT Goldcard | Katsuyuki Hosoda | Japanese House DJ/producer from Tokyo. Kut started out in Tokyo spinning parties around 1989. Soon he purchased his first sampler and began making tracks on his own in the early 90's. Shortly thereafter, he quit DJing in favor of production. From 1994-1998 he spent time in various US cities. He absorbed the vibes and techniques there from many US studios including NY's D&D Studios. After coming back to Japan, Kut dropped out of production for a few years. This didn't last long as the music called him back. [l=Elephanthaus]/[l=Real Estate Records] owner [a=Tim Baker] discovered Kut and signed him for 3 EP's. Unlike many Japanese artists, Kut soon aimed to focus on the international game. New York's [l=4th Floor Records] quickly signed him for "Kut Presents Hot for Love". These disco flavored cuts quickly found their way into playlists, charts and record bags of many DJ's all over the world. At the same time, Kut started focusing on Europe and was immediately picked up for several EP's and put on remix duty on such labels as [l=Bush] (UK) and [l=Oxyd Records] (Italy). Delving headfirst in a new direction (Techno and Tech-House) Kut's remix for [a=DJ Kruze]'s "Let Me In" on [l=Bush] ended up on [a=Carl Cox]'s Live 2nd Session – Area 2, Detroit. His 2003 R.I.C.H. EP on the US's biggest Tech-House label [l=Big Chief] rocked clubs internationally and was bagged and charted by a myriad of high profile DJ's over the world. In 2004, [a=Seishi Ono] & [a=Kut Goldcard]'s Plug 1 EP was cained by hundreds of DJ's including [a=Carl Cox]. 2005 saw remixes on [l=Toolroom Trax] (UK) and [l=Brickhouse] (Germany). Recently he was signed to United Nation of House on [l=C2 Records (UK) / CR2 Records (UK)]. |

His second and third album, Arom Dee (อารมณ์ดี) and Kun Mai Kun Mike (คันไม้คันไมค์) followed in 1990 and 1992 with famous songs Nam Plik Pla Too (น้ำพริกปลาทู) and Kao Ao Eng (เกาเอาเอง) respectively.[1] After the three albums, he went back to boxing. |

| Search | Add | 4 | Self Torture | Hardcore/Death Metal band from Ankara, Turkey. Split-up in 2012. The Ankara/Turkey based Selftorture has been an island representing a bridge between the realms of hardcore and death-metal in their home country for 10 years now. Through determination and steady progress the band has managed to combine and blend their influences to suit their evolving musical direction within the two genres. Listeners are offered a thunderous sound resembling a whirling storm of aggression sweeping up and down the Eastern Coast of North America with the band’s unique elements bolting through. Their straight forward and sometimes poetic to sarcastic lyrics are aimed directly at the developing individual ready to question themselves and the surrounding others giving no voice to anything that falls under any ideology. To experience them live is an experience all its own, intensifying what they’ve already offered on record – neck breaking grinding speed to heavy low hitting breakdowns that flow back to back. As a result of their productiveness and solid performances through the years, Selftorture has earned and remained a very familiar name in Turkey’s deep extreme underground. The decision of putting together Selftorture was made in early ‘99 and by the end of year the band had enough songs to play small sets only as a project band, due to the fact that each member was already involved in other fulltime bands (ranging from thrash, hardcore, death-metal,and black-metal). However, once they played their first official show in 2000,the interest and positive feedback they received turned the band into afulltime band immediately. The band moved on to playing more club venues and festivals nationally [Rock The Nations Open Air Festival: Caliban, Cenotaph(TR), Amon Amarth, etc… / Rock Republic Open Air Fest: Slayer, In Flames, Sick Of It All,etc...] and record three releases: “Mislead” EP/2002 (Zoo Sound); “Person-A”FL/2004 (Zoo Sound); “Dead Center” FL/2006 (Anger Epidemic). 2006 was a major turning point for the group. The rhythm section parted ways leaving front man Mehmet and guitarist Cenker the responsibility to refocus and continue the band that was now their center of attention. They wrote new material while in search for new members and a record label. Early in this process close friend Semih Ornek stepped up to fill the drummer position full time. The trio started practicing and fine tuning the songs. After observing their progress at a jam session the representatives of the label Anger Epidemic Records approached the band with an offer. The band was honored by Anger’s close interest and agreed to cooperate almost immediately. Once the tracks of the 3rd legal release were finished the band approached long time friend and supporter Engin Kamarot to complete the lineup. Since then, Selftorture has continued to play shows and complete their 4th effort entitled “Tried and True”. They have not come to an agreement with a new label yet so no release has not been confirmed. The band plans to keep playing local and national shows with the intention of making some tours abroad a reality..... Recent Line Up: Mehmet Stevenson: Vocals Cenker Yılmaz: Guitars Engin Kamarot: Bass Semih Örnek: Drums | |

| Search | Add | 4 | William S. Bachman | William Stephen Bachman Jr. | American audio engineer, inventor and distinguished high-fidelity pioneer (29 October 1908, Williamsport, Pennsylvania — 8 April 1996, Greenville, Delaware). William S. Bachman was a Director of Engineering and Research at [l=Columbia Records, Inc.], known for several crucial contributions to vinyl manufacturing technology, such as developing a 33⅓ RPM long-playing record and leading a workgroup that standardized the "RIAA equalization curve." Bachman served on numerous industry commissions, was a Senior Member (1954) and Fellow (56) of the Institute of Radio Engineers (IRE, later [l=IEEE]) and a Fellow of the [l=Audio Engineering Society], which granted him various accolades, including the AES Silver Medal (1955) and Honorary Membership in 1973. Bachman graduated from [l=Cornell University] in 1932 with an electrical engineering degree and began working for [l=General Electric]'s Radio Receiver Engineering Department the same year. His most notable design was a GE Model DM 1RM 6C variable reluctance pickup, which offered a significantly broader frequency range on phonograph discs. In 1946, [a=Peter C. Goldmark], chief scientist at [l=CBS Laboratories], convinced Bachman to quit GE and come to Columbia Records to work on the company's most ambitious project. With [a=Howard H. Scott], Bachman continued Columbia's early research into a "long-playing" phonograph record that would fit at least 20 minutes of audio per side, with various attempts done as early as 1939 but halted during World War II. The company held a press conference to unveil an LP format in June 1948 at [l=Waldorf Astoria Hotel] in Midtown Manhattan, New York. The first-ever LP album, Mendelssohn's [r=3899231] by [a=The New York Philharmonic Orchestra] under [a=Bruno Walter]'s baton, was released on [l=Columbia Masterworks] in September 1948. Bachman outlined the technical aspects of his invention in "The Columbia Long-Playing Microgroove Recording System" article, co-authored with Goldmark and his assistant, René Snepvangers, for Proceedings of the IRE, Vol. 37, No. 8 in August 1949. William Bachman continued working on various aspects of vinyl manufacturing and reproduction at Columbia Records, creating a feather-edge hot-stylus disc-cutting system, automatic variable pitch groove spacing technique, and viscous-damped reproducer tonearms. He was responsible for acoustics control and designing the equipment for the modernized [l=Columbia Recording Studios] in 1960. In 1953, Bachman joined a newly-formed Technical Committee at the Recording Industry Association of America, tasked with drafting specifications for pre/de-emphasis EQ for the new LP format. "Emphasis" equalization is a critical aspect of phonograph disc-cutting, necessary for longer duration and for reducing groove wear during playback. Since 1940, each record company has had a proprietary technology, with dozens of various turnover/roll-off EQ frequencies on the market: Columbia-78, Decca-U.S., Victor-78, BBC, NAB, Orthacoustic, FFRR-78, microgroove, AES, and numerous others. Customers struggled with diminished sound quality and highly-inconsistent results between specific albums and phonographs. Thus, RIAA decided to pre-emptively work on uniformed, industry-wide EQ standards for the uprising LP format to ensure any record will be fully compatible with all turntables. Bachman's group included representatives of all major record labels and led to the adoption of "RIAA equalization." Artist images William S. | Search | Add | 4 | Carolina Fasulo | Carolina María Fasulo Kemper | Carola was an exceptional singer, she gave life to each song she performed, vocalizing both strong and subtle songs equally well. She told [a1227150] her story in a 1996 interview: “I always sang, since I was little. The first thing I did was study Spanish dances, play the castanets and hit the shoes while dancing. I loved rock n´roll, which at that time was a half forbidden thing. " Then Carola discovered what it was to compose songs "in a rocker sense", in her own words. “The two composers that influenced me the most were [a1263448] and [a1006851]. Precisely, everything I did in Damas Negras has to do with that poetics. And is that Carola was not improvised, in addition to composing beautiful lyrics, had a great formal musical training and knew how to play the guitar. He also had the possibility of working side by side with an extremely talented musician like [a1678587], who officiated as an arranger, companion and musical director. In 1973, through the Harvest label, Carola published a single with the songs "The Night Journey" and "Eva estirpe terrena" accompanied by [a945590]. That same year he recorded in the Phonalex studios what would be his only solo album: Damas Negras. Published through the Talent label, which was currently directed by [a516809]. Also, the album featured the participation of various musicians such as [a1539219], [a1750869], [a6170712], [a2298016], [a1006850], among others. |
