Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Nina Milkina | Classical pianist, born January 27, 1919 in Moscow; died November 29, 2006. Nina Milkina Russian émigré pianist at the forefront of the Mozart 'gold rush' Nina Milkina, who has died aged 87, was a pianist of exceptional sensitivity and great musical empathy. Trained initially in the distinguished Russian tradition, she went on to become a much-loved figure in British musical life, particularly for her broadcast recitals. Born in Moscow, Milkina shared her birthday with Mozart. Her father was an accomplished artist who drew characterful portraits of celebrated Russian musicians including Prokofiev and Mussorgsky. Her mother was a harpist, and Milkina later recounted that in the years after the 1917 revolution, she was usually paid for her performances with a pound of flour or some salted herrings. The family left Russia in 1926 and moved to Paris, where there was a large émigré community. "Even the taxi drivers were Russian princes then," Milkina remembered. There were fine musicians, too, and the talented young girl took piano lessons with the well-known Russian teacher Leon Conus and studied composition with the elderly Alexander Glazunov. The latter dubbed himself her "grandfather" and set her studies and contrapuntal puzzles to resolve, as well as encouraging her to play "games" such as transposing Bach fugues. At the age of 10, she played to the visiting Rachmaninov, daring to perform one of his own preludes; she treasured the letter of recommendation he subsequently wrote for her. Aged 11, she made her first public appearance in Paris with the Lamoureux Orchestra. Part of Milkina's family had settled in London, and Nina began to shuttle between the two cities. During one visit to England, she met Ralph Hawkes of the music publishing firm Boosey & Hawkes, who took an interest in her compositions and published several of her works under the anglicised name Nina Milkin. Her piano suite My Toys showed a lively musical imagination, but was described by critics as too difficult for children - although the composer was all of 11 years old: "If I remember correctly I was paid five guineas for each masterpiece and was then given a few sixpences to spend as I liked in Woolworth's." During the 1930s, London became her permanent home. There she studied with Tobias Matthay and Harold Craxton, the two leading British piano professors of their day; fellow pupils included Myra Hess, for whom Milkina later composed cadenzas for several piano concertos. Resident in Belsize Park, she lived upstairs from another pianist, Clifford Curzon, who was to remain a great friend and colleague: "Upstairs, me; downstairs, Clifford. It should have been the other way round." Milkina's career was disrupted by the outbreak of the second world war, which put paid to a planned concert tour in the US. She remained in the UK and performed frequently to entertain the troops. Visiting Bournemouth for one such appearance, she met her future husband, Alastair Sedgwick, who was then in the army; the pair were married in 1943. She broadcast frequently, sometimes in the middle of the night for the BBC World Service, and performed at Hess's series of lunchtime concerts in the National Gallery, and at the Proms with Sir Henry Wood: here she was the soloist at the last wartime Prom in the Royal Albert Hall, after a bomb fell nearby. When the BBC Third Programme started in 1946, Milkina was invited to play the complete Mozart piano sonatas in a weekly series. Mozart was her abiding musical passion, along with Schumann and Rachmaninov. On the bicentenary of Mozart's birth in 1956, she was invited to give the celebratory recital at the Edinburgh Festival, half of which she performed on the fortepiano. During what she described as the Mozart "gold rush" in the 1960s, when many of his more neglected piano concertos were triumphantly rehabilitated, she was at the forefront of Mozart performances in London. Raising her son and daughter, Milkina was less free to travel than some colleagues, but maintained a high profile in Britain for most of her performing career. A battle with cancer ended it in 1991; although the disease had spread widely, she made a miraculous recovery. In 2001 her husband organised the reissue of several of her recordings, including the Chopin Mazurkas and a fine recital recorded live at the Wigmore Hall in 1972. A favourite figure among London's community of younger pianists of all nationalities, for not only her exceptional musical background but also her personal sympathy, intelligence and wry humour, Milkina always continued to enjoy "all the good things of life"; among these she numbered chess and fishing. (the Guardian's Corrections and clarifications column, Thursday December 7 2006)

Search | Add | 4 | Cezar Lacrone | Balázs Kányási | Cezar Lacrone aka. Bhalaaz, alias Balázs Kányási was born in 1983 25 May. He showed special interest in music as a child, Dj Kühl - Liquid Trance & Heaven Session was the first CD that made a really great impression on him in the year 2000 and directed his interest towards electronic music. House and progressive house mix music also had a remarkable influence on Cezar Lacrone's style. In 2003 he decided to make a great step and have his talent rated as a composer. His immature first pieces didn't fit to any defined style, they were rather the manifestation of his soul through music. He began building up his compositions with the awareness of musical structure in 2005. His individual style also took shape so he began making progressive house music with considerable software backup. By 2005-2006 more than 60 pieces of his music were waiting on the hard disc of his computer to be published. However, due to lack of the time and negligence they were not given to any publishers then. During this period he made friends with a lot of musicians appreciated in many music sections, we can find among them Dj Sandy Martinez aka. Alexsession, Dj Somi aka. Airplay 47, Shokey. During years 2007-2009 nothing special happened worth mentioning, his career prospects as a musician seemed to fall through, he laid stress upon making designs of websites, 3D sights. After a time it changed from a hobby into a job. In June 2009, due to the urge of his friends Richard Sanders and Shokey, he dusted his old pieces of music and sent them to a publisher. It hit him as a real wonder that most of them were accepted by the publishers. This inspired him so much that he began composing again with reborn enthusiasm. He hopes to meet all the challenges and music requirements of our time. "Music which can alter the man is the mirror of the soul." |

Search | Add | 4 | Fvrtvr | FvRTvR is a two-body locus for demolecularized disco realized through meat shredding, science fiction improvisation. There are no beats here, however, just a relentless pyroclastic flow of robot voices gurgling indecipherable quips of the “baby, that volcano looks so good on you” variety. FvRTvR is [a=Guido Henneböhl] from Germany and [a=Fritz Welch], formerly of the United States, currently residing in the United Kingdom. Guido plays an electronic instrument of his own design. This devise appears to be trapped in the ancient mysteries of circuit bending but it is actually a dynamic oxygen filtration system. There are no longer actual animal bones contained in the main structure of the device but DNA is still detectable in its circuits. Fritz manipulates vibrating surfaces such as drums and cymbals using sticks and objects. He has also devised a method for offsetting syllabic utterances with percussive concussion. FvRTvR music is a keying of voice and instrument. It is an amalgam of planetary shifting and earthbound sentient attachment. It is composed in relation to a belief system which holds that there is a relationship between sonic phenomena and events in the human world.

Search | Add | 4 | Head Of Lies | Head of Lies was an alternative/hard rock band based in Portland, Oregon. Formed in 1995 in Stillwater, Oklahoma, Head of Lies spent two years writing and developing their sound, and playing shows around Oklahoma and Kansas. Early in 1997, they decided that it was time to commit some tracks to a recording. Using little more than an 8-track digital recorder and some descent microphones, Javier recorded the bands first demo, "The Missing Link" in the band's living room. Head of Lies fully produced the entire demo, including designing and creating all of the artwork for the CD. In early 1998, realizing that their opportunities were limited in Oklahoma, Head of Lies decided to relocate. Portland seemed an ideal choice. Arriving in late 1998, the band immediately started visiting local clubs and checking out music shows, both large and small. Deciding that their first demo was not representative of their current sound, Head of Lies got to work on a new EP. Finished in early August 1999, "Trapped Ugly" was again fully recorded and produced by the band. It has a much more professional sound to it. At this time, Head of Lies continued to write new material and play shows around the Portland area pursuing a career in the music industry. It was not until 2002 that they released their studio album Clay And Needles. After this, no further information was received from the band.

Search | Add | 4 | Aldo Ferraresi | ALDO FERRARESI (Ferrara, 14 May 1902 – San Remo, 29 June 1978) Aldo Ferraresi was born in Ferrara historical centre at Nr.21 of Via Vittoria – formerly Via di Gatta marcia – in the Jewish ghetto, on 14 May 1902. His father Augusto, an artillery marshal and passionate mandolin player, and his mother Marcella Jesi, having noticed their child’s gift for music, sent him to the Frescobaldi Institute of Music of Ferrara at the age of five to study with professors Federico Barera and Umberto Supino. At the age of twelve, after a successful audition, Ferraresi was accepted at the Conservatory in Parma under the guidance of Mario Corti, who later accompanied him to Rome at the Academy of Santa Cecilia, where he received a violin degree with top marks aged fifteen. Aldo Ferraresi started his concert career at the Music High School in Bologna, and at the City and Verdi Theatres of Ferrara: a career of an “enfant prodige” with a bold and informal spirit, characteristic of his whole life. In Ferrara, while still very young, Ferraresi performed at the Apollo Cinema, in the orchestra of the silent cinema, and in the Café-concertos of Viareggio and Florence with his “Orchestra Ferraresi - Cortopassi”. His life was almost parallel to that of the great colleague Váša Příhoda (who was discovered by Arturo Toscanini at the Café Grand’Italia in the Gallery of Milan!). Only poets who have truly suffered are capable of creating real poetry. As Ferraresi recalls in his recorded life memories (CD18), Jan Kubelik presented him to Eugène Ysaye who afterwards held the young Aldo in great esteem, considering him his best pupil. Search | Add | 4 | No:Id. | Economic constraints drove this duet to seize the philosophy of austerity; “big things surprise by their simplicity” and “manage to make things with less than you have” were two of the mottoes that Gustavo Madrid and Omar Scavone embraced at the time of bringing this new project to life. They wanted to create songs that could be easily sung, they wanted to create a music that was independent from a particular moment, from a time; they wanted to create a music that could carry on living, that could last. The group was stigmatized as being “different”, snob and only suitable for the huge minority; rated of being intoxicating but serene, of having swing and style. The lyrics in English enjoyed a warm reception and someone suggested that if you had a French friend, he will surely like this band´s music. Their sound can´t deny the influence of Tindersticks, Nick Cave, Lou Reed or Tom Waits; but true to their blueprint, NO:ID. introduces a musical scheme that´s based on the subversion of pop music, where they put together an infinite series of tones and sounds that go beyond the usual resources of this musical style. NO:ID. makes part of an innovative musical world where new technologies, traditional instruments and everyday objects are combined to create a sound palette where every tone will be appreciated for its originality. The revamp of styles and the non-conventional instruments they used to generate sound invigorates a proposal in which the duet looks for an original and innovative music. NO:ID. tries to broaden the boundaries to give more room to imagination, creativity, innovation and musical experimentation.

He was chosen as composer of the year in 1990 and 1991, and nominated five other times. Search | Add | 4 | Max Handley | Max Handley (December 23, 1945–July 31, 1990) was a British comedy writer. He was born in Blackpool, Lancashire, England and educated at Arnold School and the University of Sussex. He worked on Radio Four's Week Ending and other programmes often with [a=Tony Allen (20)]. In 1988 he wrote the script for the comedy musical Quasimodo with music by Richard Rowland. Between 1971 and 1974 he recorded songs at Richard Branson's Manor Studio and these were issued in 1974 on an LP, titled "Max", on Virgin's Caroline label imprint. A single, "Stephanie" (B-side "All I Know"), was taken from the LP and released on the Virgin label proper (as was normal for those Caroline artists that got to release singles). The album and single were credited to "Max" with the surname dropped. The Virgin label connection came about because Handley had been on the production team for [a4812584]'s "Student" magazine. Handley's first novel 'Oliver Poges Lives' was published by Arlington Books Ltd in 1970 and takes the form of a series of letters detailing increasingly bizarre suicide attempts by the protagonist. This was followed by 'Sheep' in 1971 also published by Arlington Books Ltd. His 1977 Science Fiction novel 'Meanwhile' is set on an unnamed island and combines a wide range of individual narratives and themes. Max was killed in a paragliding accident.

Search | Add | 4 | Andskoti | Andskoti | In the early months of 2019, a half thought out project appeared. With ideas spewing forth fast, it did not take long until the idea was fully formed. Enter Andskoti! Andskoti, being the Icelandic word for Adversary and one of the names of Satan or the Devil; the original and ultimate adversary, is a musical act put forth to explore and convey the Luciferian spirit and ideology. Every track or release tackles a certain subject and is a part of a personal ritual, formed in music performance within the correct setting, created by Andskoti himself. If one were to put a label on Andskoti's music, it would probably best fall under the 'rythmic noise' term, though a more accurate description would include the keywords 'repetitive', 'bass-heavy' and 'ritualistic', and it relies heavily on electronics. The sole member and invoker of spirits behind Andskoti has led other solo projects that have performed in various countries, as well as been involved with known metal bands in the Icelandic scene, but now resides in Belgium and focuses solely on Andskoti. |
