Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 4 Mike Boulan On November 13, 1994, Mike Boulan formed No Cover Productions to record James Glass. He wanted his new company to be different from other record companies. He wanted the artists to have more freedom to create better music. As a guy who spent almost ten years prior to the formation of No Cover doing live recordings for local bands, it is likely he was building towards a record company ownership without even knowing it. Mike says that in the course of doing his live recordings, he came so outraged by the tremendous costs of putting out a CD that he decided to take some classes at the Recording Institute of Detroit to see if he could do better. Studying under the legendary Motown Sound Engineer, Bob Dennis, Mike says he wound up graduating at the top of his class.

Search Add 4 Von Rosenthal De La Vegaz Von Rosenthal de la Vegaz is a dj who only plays & mixes classical music, no beats. Well, sometimes with some mashups. He's educated at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, Holland and composed scores for theatre and ballet. In 2002 he started dj-ing electronic music. In 2009 he decided to bring his love for classical music on the turn tables. Search Add 4 Valentin Rocher Fascinated by the hypnotic power and physicality of the sound they produce, Valentin Rocher plays electronic music on modular synths. Parallel to the live project Silicon Vallée with Fausto, he explores his instrument in search of the accident, playing with the digressions it allows. He distorts the sound by hand with sensitivity. Surprises and the unexpected are the driving force behind his playing and compositions. He takes us with generosity in his soundscapes where we walk with curiosity.

Search Add 4 Helsinki Horizon Helsinki Horizon, an alt-rock ensemble from Scandinavia, traces its roots back to 2008 when Snorre began recording demos and composing music. In 2012, viNd and Geir joined the project, marking the band's first live performances. Their debut EP, "Signal Flares," was released in 2021, receiving critical acclaim and massive support from the post-rock community. The band's earlier experiences in the underground metal scene brought a complementary and honest addition to their organic and melodic compositions, infusing both savagery and fierce simplicity into their music. Influenced by artists like Radiohead, Mogwai, M83, and Max Richter, Helsinki Horizon's music transcends genre barriers, incorporating experimental elements such as Tesla coil emulated Cello distortion and 8-bit crushed bass-harmonicas. In 2024, the band unveiled their debut album "Sirens," which explores darker, moodier concepts while departing from conformity. Collaborating with Stockholm-based avant-garde pop act Öllegård on vocals, the band achieved a new level of sonic innovation, pushing beyond conventional boundaries. Their music draws inspiration from human struggles, philosophy, nature, and societal issues, intertwined with cinematic and literary influences. Helsinki Horizon comprises Snorre, who handles guitars, bass and keys, along with Öllegård on vocals, viNd on guitars, and Geir on drums. Their collective artistry and dedication have propelled Helsinki Horizon into the nordic alt-rock scene, captivating audiences with their distinctive Scandinavian sound and unwavering commitment to musical innovation.

Search Add 4 David Roof David Roof As with many engineers, founder/engineer David Roof's fascination with sound came in high school while discovering music from the Beatles to Wynton Marsalis. The range of sounds coming out in the 1980s as he was growing up was amazing. The Beatles "Recording Sessions" book came out teasing what was possible in the studio. From modest beginnings of bouncing sound back and forth between two cassette decks with a Radio Shack mixer and microphone grew over the last 30+ years to today's ever growing arsenal of ProTools and reel to reel tape. David's background includes classical training at the University of Michigan School of Music. He has been an in demand performer on bass, guitar, and more. Classical training, with thousands of hours sitting literally in the middle of a Symphony Orchestra, ears are trained and attuned to the smallest nuance of musical tone, expression and blend. Great recordings are only possible with a mental image of what great tones should sound like. With decades of performance with groups from symphony orchestras, to pop, jazz and Americana, his insight into making great bands is invaluable to coaching bands, making people comfortable and capturing the emotion of your songs. David's reputation is for an easy going, positive vibe in the studio. Fast setups and editing with techniques for coaxing the best performance with the least frustration are his hallmark. The focus is always on realizing and developing your vision of your songs and sound. Rooftop is known for organic tones, live band recording, a fabulous sounding room, songwriter's production, and vintage or modern sonic approaches.

In 1962 he joined with his brother Lucian and formed what became known as the Kryger Brothers Band. Bruce played the cordovox accordion and composed many of the arrangements for the band. The band had several hit recordings including “The Bridal Dance,” “The Boys from Wilkes-Barre” and “Mary on a Bike.” Bruce was a partner with his brother in the Kryger Music Company for many years. They carried on the polka band that was handed down to them from their late father, Brunon Kryger, Sr. Bruce and the band were nominated for a Grammy Award presented by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences in 1987. The band also has the longest running sales of polka album – “Polish Wedding Memories” — recorded in 1962. In 1956 Bruce married Joan Park in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. They had two children, Brunon III and Susan Ann, and have one grandson, Adam. Bruce passed away on January 13, 1989 at the age of 55. The Kryger family holds a special distinction. In 1977 Brunon Kryger, Sr. was inducted into the deceased category. In 1989 Lucian Kryger was inducted, and this year Brunon Kryger will be inducted. This is the first time three members of one family will be a part of the Polka Music Hall of Fame.

Search Add 4 Reagan Burger Reagan Burger was born at the end of 2016 in Limoges, French capital city of nothingness. Composed of four young old men who were teenagers in the 80’s, this band is closer to early retirement than to high school diploma. But they just don’t care about it. El Doggo (Bass, Politrouk, Drinking Manager, Graphic Designer), Durf (Guitar, Toolbox Manager, Animal Cause Manager), Ray (Throat, Catering Manager, Camp Activity Leader, Graphic Designer) and Lolo (Drums, First Aider, Music Theory Teacher) did all play in several bands before Reagan Burger but the information is classified until 2072. Reagan Burger dedicates an obsessional worship to the 80’s hardcore punk, thrashcore and crust. Position that can lead to a death sentence in certain countries and to a total incomprehension on behalf of 98 % of the local population... Reagan Burger is not beautiful, Reagan Burger was not designed to look nice, Reagan Burger smells like sweat, Reagan Burger plays as it can, Reagan Burger chuckles foolishly, Reagan Burger speaks his mind, and thinks what it says, Reagan Burger would like you to listen to it before it get lynched!

Search Add 4 Сини Степів Montreal's Syny Stepiv (Sons of the Steppes) are remembered today as pioneers of Ukrainian zabava music. Though Rushnychok broke onto the scene first, Syny Stepiv were a close second behind them, and many people considered the "Syny" a much more musically accomplished ensemble - in fact, possibly more accomplished than most all other zabava bands at the time! After their first few shows, it didn't take long for Syny Stepiv to gain acclaim as their audiences began admiring their musical talents and abilities, and also falling in love with their multi-harmony vocal style. The members of the group had each developed and honed these talents while previously playing and singing with various other ensembles - in many different genres of music: folk, rock, jazz and traditional ethnic. They each brought these talents and backgrounds to Syny Stepiv and, as a group, blended them to create a fresh and inspiring sound. As accomplished musicians, each member of Syny Stepiv was competent at a number of different musical instruments. In fact, the guys would regularly join other zabava and concert bands on stage as special guests or fill-in musicians. At the height of their popularity, Syny Stepiv would play an exhausting number of shows each year. In 1976 alone, they played functions in New York, Newark, Yonkers, Passaic, Parma, Rochester, Detroit, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Chicago, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton, and Saskatoon! During their time together, Syny Stepiv released three albums that stand today as classics in the collective Ukrainian-Canadian music oeuvre. So esteemed were the band, that Ukrainian lyricists and songwriters would often submit musical works to the quartet with the chance hope that their songs could end up in Syny Stepiv's live or recorded repertoire! The members of Syny Stepiv: Adrian Alboshchy - Rhythm Guitar (v.II, & v.III) Taras Didus - Accordion Jaroslaw Gudzio - Rhythm & Lead Guitar (v.I, & v.III) Tino Papa - Drums Jaroslaw Workewych - Lead Guitar (v.I, & v.II) (Adrian Alboshchy & Tino Papa would later go on to play in Chornomortsi and Vechirnyy Dzvin.)

Kosmic Four has performed along side COOLIO, FREESTYLE FELLOWSHIP, LIVING LEGENDS, PLANET ASIA, BLACK EYED PEAS, DILATED PEOPLES, LOOT PACK, OMD, J-ZONE, VISIONARIES, MEDUSSA, PSYCHO REALM, BEAT JUNKIES among others. In 1998 Kosmic Four collaborated with YOTA ONE on his debut album EXPERIMENT 31 by the JEDEYES. Soon after this in 1999 they released an E.P entitled LOS ANGRYS, as fate would have it YOTA ONE joined them on this project then in turn joined the group. After a fusion of ideals and their love for a true representation of hip hop they quickly began to work on what would be their 12" single dropped in late 2000 for the album BLUE BIRDZ released in july 2001. Kosmic Four's line up stays strong and steady with FEARO, YOTA ONE, and DOVE ROC. In 2003 They released their fifth installment WRITERS BENCH 2. With the Single "LIFE IZ SICK" released on STRONG HOUSE RECORDS as a B side to their release of an ABSTRACT RUDE's "Got It Like That".
