Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Cezar Lacrone | Balázs Kányási | Cezar Lacrone aka. Bhalaaz, alias Balázs Kányási was born in 1983 25 May. He showed special interest in music as a child, Dj Kühl - Liquid Trance & Heaven Session was the first CD that made a really great impression on him in the year 2000 and directed his interest towards electronic music. House and progressive house mix music also had a remarkable influence on Cezar Lacrone's style. In 2003 he decided to make a great step and have his talent rated as a composer. His immature first pieces didn't fit to any defined style, they were rather the manifestation of his soul through music. He began building up his compositions with the awareness of musical structure in 2005. His individual style also took shape so he began making progressive house music with considerable software backup. By 2005-2006 more than 60 pieces of his music were waiting on the hard disc of his computer to be published. However, due to lack of the time and negligence they were not given to any publishers then. During this period he made friends with a lot of musicians appreciated in many music sections, we can find among them Dj Sandy Martinez aka. Alexsession, Dj Somi aka. Airplay 47, Shokey. During years 2007-2009 nothing special happened worth mentioning, his career prospects as a musician seemed to fall through, he laid stress upon making designs of websites, 3D sights. After a time it changed from a hobby into a job. In June 2009, due to the urge of his friends Richard Sanders and Shokey, he dusted his old pieces of music and sent them to a publisher. It hit him as a real wonder that most of them were accepted by the publishers. This inspired him so much that he began composing again with reborn enthusiasm. He hopes to meet all the challenges and music requirements of our time. "Music which can alter the man is the mirror of the soul." |

Search | Add | 4 | It's A Living Thing | Rodrigo Falcao, Damon Morris, Monashee Sun, Alissa Raya, Anju Singh | Is a band on a mission. Beginning as a looping psych-rock 2-piece, the bands exhilarating live set captivated music nerds, dance-party-goers & critical viewers alike over their first year of local shows. Spontaneous & driving, armed with Rodrigo Falcao's accomplished samba influenced rock-dance rythyms, threaded with Damon Morris's quasi-electronic sounding yet completely organic melodic elements, the duo strode bravely into unknown territory. The 6-song EP "You don't Have To" is a perfect cross-section of their audacity. Sink or Swim's Disco party sing-along slides gradually into evil stoner-rock psychadelic meltdown, like an inevitable comedown from a stratospheric high. The opening track "Relative Escape" blends minimalist looping with ethereal vocal harmonies, before catapulting into a stomping apocalyptic rock theme. Another track "Doubletime", is a 2.5 minute (completely improv) 70's power-psych jam, utilizing a loop from a different song, played at 2X the speed. The EP captures perfectly the "anything goes, & everything counts" improvisational spirit of the band, simultaneously admitting vulnerability & skyrocketing imperviously into the wilds of outer space! After pushing the potential of live looping near-to the limit, & being in exclusive musical isolation for a year, the boys began slowly taking on outside involvements again. The living process dictated a period of cultivation & outside energy. 5 shows in a row, were performed with unique lineup & material each time! This was highly exhausting, but fruitful. The new sound is deeper, & wider, bringing in chorale, folk, classical, & other influences, yet retains all the bombastic energy of the original Duo. The new members are: Alissa Raya, bringing her skills as a drummer (Organ Trail) to the rythmic bass pulses, has replaced the loops & freed the band from the linear process they required. She is also blessed with an amazing strong voice, that picks you up gently but carries you roughly all the way down to the soul south. Monashee Sun, on violin, (& yamaha portatone!) adding her accomplished fiddle trills along with a highly developed sensitivity to dynamics & detail, not to mention her high-alto range otherworldy harmonies. Anju Singh, on Cello, as the "5th member". She's busy with bands, (I/I, Greyscales, & National Shield) that take her partially away from IALT, But her skills as an improviser, experimenter, & L.earn I.t Y.ourself classical musician makes her the perfect addition to the Living layer cake of sound. |

His professional career started at age 19 in a prohibition-era speakeasy in Detroit. In order to appear older for the gig, he grew a faint mustache which he colored in with a mascara pencil. He studied music with Harry Detweiler at Columbia University and with Mona Redman at the American Conservatory in Chicago. Sontag toured for 12 years with [a1350072] (with whom he appeared in the Paramount film “You’re the One”) as a pianist/arranger. He may be best known for his arrangement of [m567967]. He was also known to have performed with [a212786]. Following employment as an investigator for ASCAP after leaving Tucker’s band, Sontag was hired as musical director for WOC radio and television in Davenport, Iowa, a position he held for 28 years (from 1943 to 1971). George Sontag died Sunday, November 21, 1971, in Rochester, Minnesota, at the Mayo Clinic following an extended illness. |

Search | Add | 4 | Ricardo Parronchi | Destra (Brazilian Prog Rock Band) | Destra had its embryo in 1997 with the name of Aquila, as Ricardo Parronchi was a bassist in a hard rock band with the same name formed by Túlio Regis, ex-G3 (vocal) workshop, Dico, ex-Katsbarnea (guitar) ), playing today with Catalau (ex-coup d'état) and Victor Alexandre, (drums). With the end of the band, Ricardo Parronchi decided to start a progressive rock band, still using the name Aquila, since the idea of the name had been his. The proposal was to make a heavy sound but with a lot of melody, mixing metal and progressive rock among other styles like jazz, mpb and blues. The lyrics will be sung in English and although they are not religious, directly or indirectly, they would all have a Christian message. It took 1 year until the members of what would be training for the first record in the studio were found, a demo entitled “Out of the game“, which had 4 songs and had in its formation Douglas Vanuchi (vocals), Eduardo Parronchi, brother of the bassist (guitar), Victor Alexandre (drums), Ricardo Parronchi (bass) and Marcos Ian (guest musician, keyboard), shortly after recording the demo Victor leaves the band and then Fabio Fernandes (ex-Portrait) enters ) With the demo in hand the band gets a contract with Megahard Records for a full album, although due to some differences the band changes its label in the middle of the recordings and signs with Destroyer Records, ending as well as recordings of the CD at the end of 1999, with co-producer guitarist Heros Trench, (Korzus) and also counting on Marcos Ian as a guest on keyboards. Changing the name to Destra, the band then released in January 2000 their 1st CD Sea of Doubt, containing 10 songs, the work obtained a great repercussion from the public and critics, being highly praised by all magazines and specialized sites , even without exterior. After the release of the CD, a band performs several tests with keyboardists and finally gets a fixed keyboard, Marcelo Saorim, then performing programs in several cities and states in Brazil, being invited to cable and radio programs like BACKSTAGE (from legendary Vitão Bonesso) in BRASIL 2000. In 2001, a band had a very low loss with the departure of vocalist Douglas Vanuchi, a band was almost sold out and with several shows scheduled when it happened. After fulfilling some commitments the vocalist leaves the band definitively for personal reasons and after a few months of testing the replacement would be Ricardo Cassau, but due to scheduling problems he would not stay long in the band. With no way to postpone the band, he then calls José Ricardo (ex-singer of Dream Theater cover), as a guest singer to sing in 2 bonus songs for the re-release of the CD Sea of Doubt. With him the band played some shows and would still participate in the "Tribute to Viper and Angra", an event that featured some of the main metal bands in the country. It is worth remembering that Destra was highly praised by André Matos himself (ex-vocalist from Angra and currently on Shaman), being mentioned even on its official website, it was during this period that the band started to have the idea of making a conceptual CD with several vocalists participating. The band would still do several tests with vocalists arriving again to count on Ricardo Cassau and Alexandre Silva for some shows, then in 2002 they started the pre-production of the rock opera “Joe´s Rhapsody” and it was at that time that the band met vocalist Neno Fernando (currently on Abstract Shadows), the vocalist participated in the pre-production of some songs, then he was invited to sing in the music video for “You Should Believe“ (this version was included on the CD of the 2nd Metal Mission compilation). At that time, keyboardist Marcelo Saorim left the group, being replaced in a short time by Maxsuel Rodrigo (Divine Works), who quickly adapted to the band, actively participating in the band's new compositions. Vocalist Neno also participated in the song “Dry Way” (for the project “The Book of Exodus”, sharing vocals with Ricardo Parronchi) and made a small participation in the song “Mother, Father” for the tribute of the band Journey, already that most of the music was sung by the bassist. He also did several shows with the group, including a highly praised performance in the tribute to the band Stryper, which had in its cast the biggest white metal bands of the national scene, but despite having a beautiful voice, his melodic style did not fit with the band, which was taking a notoriously more seventies course, which made the band start looking for a new singer again. At that time bassist Ricardo Parronchi was recording the song “Waiting in God” with some friends, which would be the entry song for the project “The Book of Exodus” (since the band invited to work, Stauros, cannot participate in the last minute, because a 3-member low had happened), when he met a vocalist who caught his attention precisely because he had a timbre and way of singing that was very different from what he was seeing on the scene at the time, because his voice reminded him a lot the 70's hard rock vocalists, vocalist Rodrigo Grecco. Ricardo then invited him to sing the project's song with him, the result was so satisfactory that Rodrigo was invited to be part of the band Destra. In 2003, the band left its former record label and closed a contract with two record labels in partnership (Avantage and Frontline Records), and after recording the instrumental and some guest vocalists' participation, the label together with the band decided to launch a first version of “Joe´s Rhapsody” (scheduled for early February) with Rodrigo sharing the vocals with the bassist Ricardo, thus showing the new phase of the band, not abandoning however the initial idea of launching this CD with several vocalists scheduled for the second semester of 2004. |

Search | Add | 4 | Checo Tohomaso | Checo Tohomaso's Bio Music Director, Checo Tohomaso, brings a wealth of musical experience to the Vancouver Outreach Community Sweet Soul Gospel Choir (VOC). Born in Florida, and raised in Hawaii as well as Okinawa Japan, he has entertained with many notable performers throughout his career. Checo was honoured to play keyboards, percussion and sing background vocals for the last European tour of Motown legend, Marvin Gaye. As a keyboard player and background vocalist for the Green Machine, the band providing the sound for The Commodores and Lionel Ritchie, he continued to tour the world extensively until Expo '86 brought Checo to Vancouver. Checo’s musical journey began in early childhood where his first performances were as a member of a church choir. The son of an African-American Christian mother and Peruvian/African-American Jewish father, Checo grew up surrounded by different styles of ethnic music. When asked how his passion for Gospel music began, Checo points out “ninety per cent of American Soul, R&B, and Jazz singers have their musical foundation singing Gospel music in the church and I was heavily influenced by those artists at a very early age”. Following Expo ’86, Checo toured the Canadian school system exposing youth to ethnic and soul music. In addition, he worked extensively with the First Nations population to provide positive motivation, from the perspective of a person of colour, and deliver messages of staying in school, staying off drugs, and racial tolerance. Checo’s current focus is to communicate the positive, healing qualities of soul music to as many people as possible. He notes, “at home, everyone sings Gospel and the spirit and culture are strong. People in Vancouver are longing for real music and my goal is to bring it!” In order to achieve his goal of "bringing soul to the city", Checo also coaches soul, R&B, gospel and light jazz-style vocals, and teaches both keyboards and bass to students from across the lower mainland. | |
