Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 11 | Ganjaguru | Nick Chia | For the last 5 years, Ganjaguru has been carving a niche in the hard dance scene but his recent success over the last 3 has created a well-built reputation making his name a buzzword on the Malaysian and Melbourne circuit scene. The co-founder of the Bass Agents, Ganjaguru can be seen playing a diverse range of hard funk, tech-trance, hard techno, Nu-Nrg, hard trance, hard house and hardstyle. His focus; hard driving relentless basslines. Their crew consists of Ganjaguru, Xt-Acid & Didjital. They all decided to go under the name Bass Agents and later that year formed Chronictraxxx their own Hard Dance label, which they will use to release their own stuff in the future. During his shows, it's typical to see him grabbing, twisting and manipulating clusters of knobs buttons and faders, all precisely moved to follow his momentary sonic path. They often call him "the devastator," chasing the inspiration flowing through him manipulating the sound. Nothing is planned until seconds before it occurs, and when it does, it is extremely deliberate. Sometimes daring and unexpected but strangely fitting sounds are injected into the system on the fly, displaying a true love for his craft. Not afraid to experiment, he risks humiliation before thousands. It was history in the making when Ganjaguru was called upon to play alongside headline acts such as the Organ Donors, Dj Wag and Dave Joy at the first ever rave event to be held in China, at the Guang Zhou Olympic Stadium on NYE 2005. History was made as communist China opened its doors for the first time, and introduced 30,000 new Chinese ravers to the sounds of Western Hard Dance. To date, Ganjaguru has played alongside the Organ Donors, Yakooza, Alex Kidd, Lady Dana, The Prophet, Gizmo, Technikal (Kompression Records), Steve Hill (Masif), Dark By Design, Phil York, Andy Whitby, Paul Brisk, Dave Joy, Carl Nicholson, Charlotte Birch, D-10, Andy Whitby, Hellraiser, Yoshi and Dj Nervous. As for the future adventures of Ganjaguru, it is anyone's guess, but a good bet would be a new mix CD reflecting his latest musical evolution and perhaps some new original music as well. We asked about the future and he said: "You'll see me pushing the music and cultural boundaries while staying connected to the evolution of my principles. Keep it tidy, keep it real and keep it hard!" |

He began performing regularly when he moved to Southern Mississippi in 2004. Returning to his hometown of Baltimore, MD, in 2007, he started JMB, recorded two full-length award-winning albums and toured the Mid-Atlantic from NY to VA until 2012. In 2013, John moved to California to pursue an MFA in Creative Writing. He recently settled in the Bay Area where he recorded Halfway Home, his second EP of 2015. He then formed the newgrass group, Broken Barrels and released their debut album, A Little off the Top, in 2016. Seeking a balance of melody, groove and message, John has published more than forty songs since his 2009 debut, which was praised by Billboard, Relix, Glide, Big Takeover Magazine and others for its songwriting and musicianship. Honing a lyrical folk-rock aesthetic that has come to define his sound, John draws from an Americana tradition shared by artists like Ryan Adams, Tom Petty, Gram Parsons, John Fogerty and Dr. John. His songs have played on non-com radio stations across the country and in Europe. They have also appeared on film and TV in the U.S. and abroad and received praise from top music blogs. Albums and EPs: JMB (2009) Sun King (2011) Ancient Americans (2012) Shangri-La (2013) Medicine Show (2015) Halfway Home (2015) Broken Barrels (2016) Take One Last Look Around (2018)

Search | Add | 11 | August Albo | August Albo (11 September 1893 Suurupi, Harju County – 13 December 1963 New York City, USA) was an Estonian artist who studied at the Russian Royal Academy of Art but lived most of his life in New York City. The actual date of his death is unknown, most sources saying 1963 (which is most likely correct), although some individuals claim that they commissioned him to do portraits well into the 1980s. The details of his life are obscure, with no sure sources, but most seem to agree that he painted for the Czar in Moscow before the Russian Revolution. As a young man, he was also said to have been a ballet dancer (which may account for some of his most known work being of ballerinas), and a professional violinist. During the beginning of his painting career, he focused on abstract art. However, through appreciation for works from the old school of painting, he started painting with more realism. He was a very versatile artist, and could paint any given subject with incredible detail. He painted all over the world, particularly in cities with renowned ballets, such as Paris, Moscow, and Berlin. His most famous work was "Free as the Wind", a painting depicting running horses. There are believed to be only 5 of these original "Free as the Wind" paintings in existence. He is also known for his ballerina paintings. One of his lesser known works was of Merike Sheinkin as a child, and he also painted a scene called "Ocean Views" depicting two small boats on a rocky beach. It is uncertain what his real name was, but he would often sign paintings as "Rod Palmer" or "A. Curtis" in addition to simply "Albo".

Search | Add | 11 | Starpimp | Star Pimp | Star Pimp was one of those bands that defied any sort of good description that could really capture what they sounded like. The result of their legitimately weird brand of bizarro noise-rock left them without much exposure during their time together, and they are now one of those often overlooked and forgotten gems from the early to mid-nineties era. Star Pimp released their first single/EP, Treasure Trail, in 1992 through bassist Tom Flynn’s own record label Boner Records; the band eventually put out one full length for the label, titled "Seraphim 280z" in 1994 before making the move to Kill Rock Stars for their second and final album in 1996 titled Docudrama. |

Search | Add | 11 | Miles Hunt's Lock Down Demo Society | A collection of songs written, demoed and recorded during the 2020 Coronavirus pandemic lockdown featuring material worked on by Miles Hunt, Luke Johnson and Morgan Nicholls. Miles Hunt stated "Initially I had only started to write and demo songs for a future Vent 414 record. However the band’s mighty powerhouse of a drummer, Pete Howard, is currently unable to record or program drums at his home, which led me to seek the help of Luke Johnson. Luke and I have known each other now for thirty-five years, him being the son of The Wonder Stuff’s first manager, Les Johnson. He is a truly remarkable drummer and has enjoyed an international career behind the kit with a variety of rockin’ bands. He is also something of a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter. When not out on the road he is often to be found beavering away creating his own music in his home studio. As luck would have it at the time of my asking Luke to program drums for the new Vent 414 songs he was also sitting on a bunch of instrumental tracks that needed vocals adding to them. I offered my services to write lyrics, find the vocal melodies and add my nasal whine to his tracks. He accepted. So what you will find here are two separate streams of songwriting; the songs that I initiate for the future V414 record and the songs that Luke and I have worked on together for an, as yet, unspecified project."

Already a skilled guitarist, Jeff picked up DJing quickly. Combined with his ability to engage an audience with his aggressive mixing skills Jeff became known as one of Texas's premiere Techno DJ 's. Although Techno is Jeff's prime focus, he is also known for Drum & Bass sets. Years of dancefloor knowledge eventually lured Jeff into the studio where his appetite for dance music became an even deeper obsession. When left alone with his ideas, Jeff frequently locks himself in the studio to block any distractions in his life for the sole purpose of pumping out audio genius. This obsessive, compulsive behavior fuels his creativity resulting in a sound that reflects his unpredictable moods. |

Search | Add | 11 | Majkol Jay | Majkol (Michael) Giannarelli | Majkol (Michael) Giannarelli, aka Majkol Jay, begins his artistic career in the panorama of house music, fueled by his passion for Funk and Disco music from the 70s which immediately led him to work in the best clubs in Tuscany and beyond. Majkol Jay starts as a resident DJ in the La Canniccia Club of Versilia and later in the best clubs in Tuscany, where he meets several important DJ producers who have incentivized him in the creation of his musical projects, coming to produce in 2006 his first single entitled "Welcome in My Head" produced for Chameleon Records, a label with which artists like Alex Neri have collaborated. The track is supported by various DJ producers, and in particular inserted in the live sets of the Djs of Diabolika Events, and live on M2O radio with the Dj Emanuele Inglese. Following his experience with various labels, Majkol obtains an important collaboration with the historic record label OceanTrax Records and with the DJ Producer Gianni Bini. Thus the success comes with the singles "Free Download" and "Without You", where the latter in a few days from the release reaches the first place in the House ranking, in one of the most important online sales portals and becomes part of the Top Tracks of 2015, obtaining important supports in particular from Dj Mark Knight, David Penn, Jay Vegas, Bronx Cheer and many others. Majkol has had important collaborations in recent years such as with the singers Sara Grimaldi, Loredana Majuri, Liz Hill, EleNoire and Andrea Love, making successful singles and therefore entering the international music scene, distinguishing himself for his eclectic and energetic sound, preferring a refined groove and the creation of harmonies and melodies that draw inspiration from the greatest pioneers of electronic music, House, Funk and Disco from the 70s, thus giving life to unique and magnetic sounds. |

Search | Add | 11 | Тибетски Сърца | Tibetan hearts are influential Bulgarian electronic music group, which according to some initiated the beginning of electronic music in Bulgaria. The musical group was established in 1991 in Sofia having five members, influenced by new wave style. Later on they elaborated their proper electronic dance music style that would become later known as Tech-Trance, characteristic mostly for the Bulgarian early electronic movement. A year later in 1992, brass-section joined the band and they started experimenting within the music style fusion. In 1993, two of the members - Peter Dundakov and Nikolay Madjarov, aka Faicheto decided to concentrate their creative efforts on electronic music but didn’t change the name of the formation – Tibetski Sartsa. They started working as sound engineers in the Gencho Stoev recording studio and shortly afterwards their first single was produced. It was called after the name of the formation, Tibetski Sartsa, and consisted of three compositions with total time 25 min: `The Age of Tea`, `Hearts of Tibet` and `Twist-a-Polka`. Very soon afterwards `Twist-a-polka` was filmed in a video. The release of the debut single was noticed by the specialized media and the duo was nominated for the Annual Music Awards of Rhythm magazine in four categories - Debut of the year, Single of the year, Video and Producer of the year. In the period 1994 -1998, Tibetski Sartsa were focused on their studio work, thus establishing themselves as one of the best studio teams in Bulgaria. Under the mark `Made by Tibetski Sartsa` appeared theatrical music, the soundtrack for the ballet show `Faust` and many others. 1997 was marked with the appearing of the name Tibetski Sartsa on the Bulgarian dance stage. They created a large number of songs for famous Bulgarian artists, such were the music for Marius' album Love War, remixes of Irina Florin's songs, the sound finish of Avenue's album Labyrinth, etc. In mid-1998, Tibetski Sartsa started working on their debut album `PsychoKinetic` which was released on May 29, 1999. The specialized media acclaimed the album with great positive reviews and Rhythm music magazine put Tibetski Sartsa on the cover of their June issue. `PsychoKinetik` was called the `Bulgarian techno sensation of the year`. It has been sold in more than 6000 copies so far. The participation of Tibetski Sartsa alongside with international techno stars like Josh Wink, Sven Vath, Takyu Ishino etc., in the Metropolis techno parties, brought them popularity abroad. Additional proof for their musical talent was a participation in a techno parade in Paris. It took place in autumn of 1999. As a consequence Tibetski Sartsa received international recognition. The duet faced up the new Millennium with compilation of compositions, they have made since 1991. `91:01` was a retrospective project of Tibetski Sartsa and showed the progress of the electronic music in Bulgaria during the decade, including experimental pieces such as their first single, the theatrical and ballet soundtracks. `91:01` was manufactured in only 500 copies with unique design - hand-made booklet, a real collector's provocation. The album was released for distributing only through the AveNew Productions' site.

Search | Add | 11 | Han Hong | Hán Hóng | Singer/songwriter of ethnic Tibetan and Han Chinese origin, born in Xigaze in 1971. Her mother is a well known Tibetan folk singer and although she wanted to follow in her mother's steps, a love for pop music made her chose a different path. Her music mainly deals with Tibetan themes but she is also influenced by Jazz, R-n-B, Rock-n-Roll and Latin music, which are all reflected in her work. She is able to shift quite easily from piercing high pitches to soft low tones. Han Hong is also one of the few famous singers in China who is also an accomplished songwriter. Since she started composing in 1993 she has written a number of popular songs for other singers. The rise to stardom came unexpected to many people in her surroundings since she didn't have the typical looks associated with a successful popstar. She has now established her own label intending to explore and train more talented singers, giving them a helping hand on the rocky road.
