Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 3 Chip Jacks Peter Jacks Peter 'Chip' Jacks is an electronic music producer from Portsmouth, UK. Taking influence from the wide range of music he listens to and the sounds he finds and collects from everyday life, he has created a broad spectrum of electronic styles. After honing his production skills over the last decade, he has found a sound that encompasses music aimed at the dance floor, through to ambient and glitchy electronica. He has gone through the usual process of DJing from a young age and then taking the natural progression into production, with a love of dance music from early on, leading to a deeper interest into electronic music. Along the way, he discovered incredibly talented artists, such as - Telefon Tel Aviv and electronic labels such as Warp, which became a turning point in expanding not only his musical taste, but also the style of music that Chip wanted to create.

Search Add 3 Nicolás Casimiro José Nicolás Casimiro Fulgencio Dominican singer born in Santo Domingo on April 28th, 1911, known as Colás. He was an empirical musician who, with his great talent, was able to reach a level of perfection in the use of his voice. He became known in the 1930s through the national radio stations HI2, HIX, and HIN, and by the year 1940 he was so popular that he won the contest that was held at the Teatro Travieso, where he was chosen as the most popular singer of radio in Ciudad Trujillo (Santo Domingo). His triumphs continued to rise and in 1943 he was hired by "La Voz del Yuna" to sing with the [a=Super Orquesta San José]. In 1947 he returned to HIZ where he performed with the Continental Orchestra. In 1948 he returned to La Voz del Yuna, when the station had already settled in Ciudad Trujillo. In that same year he was chosen as the most popular singer in a contest that was sponsored by the magazine Salón Fígaro and that was realized by the vote of the public. In that period, he sang in duo with [a8707990]. Nicolás Casimiro sang a fundamentally Dominican repertoire, which included songs by [a=Juan Lockward], Diógenes Silva, [a=Enriquillo Sánchez], [a=Bullumba Landestoy] and Leopoldo Gómez among others. In 1957 he recorded with La Voz Dominicana a series of pieces that appeared on 45 RPM singles; among them were: "Españolita", "Su Preocupación", "Vega Vieja" and "Silencio". Later, he recorded several albums, including "Nicolás Casimiro Y Sus Amigos", "Nicolás Casimiro Canta" and "Ese Es Nicolás Casimiro". His repertoire was extensive and varied, rich in genres. His voice had a beautiful timbre, with a very accurate concept of tuning and an incomparable Antillean sentiment. On September 17th, 1964, Casimiro (who's nickname was Colás) died in the city where he was born.

Search Add 3 Powers Run Band Powers Run Band was formed in 1978 by guitarists Sam Satler & Joey Walsh. They were childhood friends in a suburb of Pittsburgh PA called O'Hara Twp. Originally they called themselves "The Powers Run Band" after Powers Run Road. That was the main road in the neighborhood, and they seem to spend so much of their time there. After gigging extensively for over 20 yrs. they began recording more and spending less time gigging. Their latest album, "The Road From Here", features Sam & Joey along with Eileen Satler on vocals. Eileen joined the band in 1983 as a backup vocalist and took over lead vocals in '86. Mike Floccari was one of the original drummers in the band and also a longtime friend. Bassist Greg Sejko first joined up in the short-lived "Satler Walsh Band" in 1985. Greg's engineered "The Road From Here" as well. The chemistry between this close group of friends/musicians is evident in their music. While only a few songs from "The Road from Here" are now completed, more are to follow. Tracks are currently being recorded for their next release.

Search Add 3 Nina Milkina Classical pianist, born January 27, 1919 in Moscow; died November 29, 2006. Nina Milkina Russian émigré pianist at the forefront of the Mozart 'gold rush' Nina Milkina, who has died aged 87, was a pianist of exceptional sensitivity and great musical empathy. Trained initially in the distinguished Russian tradition, she went on to become a much-loved figure in British musical life, particularly for her broadcast recitals. Born in Moscow, Milkina shared her birthday with Mozart. Her father was an accomplished artist who drew characterful portraits of celebrated Russian musicians including Prokofiev and Mussorgsky. Her mother was a harpist, and Milkina later recounted that in the years after the 1917 revolution, she was usually paid for her performances with a pound of flour or some salted herrings. The family left Russia in 1926 and moved to Paris, where there was a large émigré community. "Even the taxi drivers were Russian princes then," Milkina remembered. There were fine musicians, too, and the talented young girl took piano lessons with the well-known Russian teacher Leon Conus and studied composition with the elderly Alexander Glazunov. The latter dubbed himself her "grandfather" and set her studies and contrapuntal puzzles to resolve, as well as encouraging her to play "games" such as transposing Bach fugues. At the age of 10, she played to the visiting Rachmaninov, daring to perform one of his own preludes; she treasured the letter of recommendation he subsequently wrote for her. Aged 11, she made her first public appearance in Paris with the Lamoureux Orchestra. Part of Milkina's family had settled in London, and Nina began to shuttle between the two cities. During one visit to England, she met Ralph Hawkes of the music publishing firm Boosey & Hawkes, who took an interest in her compositions and published several of her works under the anglicised name Nina Milkin. Her piano suite My Toys showed a lively musical imagination, but was described by critics as too difficult for children - although the composer was all of 11 years old: "If I remember correctly I was paid five guineas for each masterpiece and was then given a few sixpences to spend as I liked in Woolworth's." During the 1930s, London became her permanent home. There she studied with Tobias Matthay and Harold Craxton, the two leading British piano professors of their day; fellow pupils included Myra Hess, for whom Milkina later composed cadenzas for several piano concertos. Resident in Belsize Park, she lived upstairs from another pianist, Clifford Curzon, who was to remain a great friend and colleague: "Upstairs, me; downstairs, Clifford. It should have been the other way round." Milkina's career was disrupted by the outbreak of the second world war, which put paid to a planned concert tour in the US. She remained in the UK and performed frequently to entertain the troops. Visiting Bournemouth for one such appearance, she met her future husband, Alastair Sedgwick, who was then in the army; the pair were married in 1943. She broadcast frequently, sometimes in the middle of the night for the BBC World Service, and performed at Hess's series of lunchtime concerts in the National Gallery, and at the Proms with Sir Henry Wood: here she was the soloist at the last wartime Prom in the Royal Albert Hall, after a bomb fell nearby. When the BBC Third Programme started in 1946, Milkina was invited to play the complete Mozart piano sonatas in a weekly series. Mozart was her abiding musical passion, along with Schumann and Rachmaninov. On the bicentenary of Mozart's birth in 1956, she was invited to give the celebratory recital at the Edinburgh Festival, half of which she performed on the fortepiano. During what she described as the Mozart "gold rush" in the 1960s, when many of his more neglected piano concertos were triumphantly rehabilitated, she was at the forefront of Mozart performances in London. Raising her son and daughter, Milkina was less free to travel than some colleagues, but maintained a high profile in Britain for most of her performing career. A battle with cancer ended it in 1991; although the disease had spread widely, she made a miraculous recovery. In 2001 her husband organised the reissue of several of her recordings, including the Chopin Mazurkas and a fine recital recorded live at the Wigmore Hall in 1972. A favourite figure among London's community of younger pianists of all nationalities, for not only her exceptional musical background but also her personal sympathy, intelligence and wry humour, Milkina always continued to enjoy "all the good things of life"; among these she numbered chess and fishing. Search Add 3 Sergey Kozlov Sergey Kozlov, who stands behind the moniker Kabyzdoh Obtruhamchi, is Russia’s newest exporter of excellent jams. His music is a thankful surprise with its sky-rending hybridization of eastern european guitar spree & 70s snowdazed modal folkrock. Resonant drums burst through the giant aluminum churn of guitar, voice, and percussion arcing overhead. Dancing between poles of hot motion & cool mass, Sergey’s impressively energetic numbers establish themselves long enough to each become deeply meaningful, essential scenes in his pan shamanic expression.

Search Add 3 Rubber Johnson Rubber Johnson Live Rubber Johnson performs as anything from a 2 piece DJ set to a 10 piece Live funk act. RJ are guaranteed to bring an instant party vibe and complaints from the neighbors, where ever they perform. 2006 saw RJ’s debut performance at Summafieldayze as well as a couple of smaller club performances with Elsewhere and Platinum. This was then followed in 2007 by performances along side Sneaky Sound System as well as the Quicksilver Pro and a product launch for Arnette Sunglasses at the Oxford Art Factory in Sydney. Throughout 2008 RJ enjoyed regular radio play of three of their tracks on local radio and spent much time back in the lab working on further productions. During this time they managed collaborate with Washington DC funksters “The All Good Funk Alliance” and in late 2009 released their first collaboration track and vinyl release on Super Hi Fi out of the USA, with the track “Man With A Jam Plan”. This collaboration saw AGFA on the production and RJ on the vocals, presenting a party anthem vibe with Hip Hop influences, everything that they had set out to capture. This release also came with a remix by another crew of Washington DC heavy weights “Fort Knox Five” and to top it off, the flip side had a further remix by Kraak and Smaak. This release put RJ out into the international funk/breakbeat arena and gained positive feedback from many...

Fejza's songs were completely banned in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia from 1981 to 1983, and she was imprisoned in 1986.[2] Until Kosovo's independence, songs like hers weren't played on radio or television in Yugoslavia; they were only sold as video recordings, but nevertheless spread among the population. Search Add 3 Kabyzdoh Obtruhamchi Sergey Kozlov Sergey Kozlov, who stands behind the moniker Kabyzdoh Obtruhamchi, is Russia’s newest exporter of excellent jams.
