Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024

Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 M4D Mark Tierney Mark 4 Death (M4D) Straight out of Mudville (Stockton), Northern California, Mark 4 Death was born on August 13, 1977 and was raised between Stockton and San Francisco, Ca. Experiencing a poor rough childhood and the typical fast street life, M4d felt that growing up was hard, cold, and empty – quoting he had nothing to live for, but everything to gain. Eventually he found a way to channel his energy through a pen and a pad. He found his passion through a culture called Hip-Hop. His father was a martial arts master, actor, and poet. From those three, M4D’s music became his poetry. Inspired by artists like Kool G Rap, Dr. Dre, Wu Tang Clan, Run DMS, James Brown, Killah Priest, and even Beethoven, M4D took the next step from writing his thoughts and emotions on paper to expressing these words through a sword, otherwise known as a microphone. M4D brings his own styles to this society of hip-hop – with a thug attitude and a deep intellect. M4D feels that he has wide versatility in his music and it can relate to anyone. 13 years of marking on walls, spinning, scratching records, break dancing, writing and spitting rhymes, M4D has lived every aspect of hip-hop. He says he has experienced a lot in his life.

Search Add 2 Razorigami Luke Richard Weber The main calling card to Razorigami is Luke Richard Weber’s high octane and multifarious vocal abilities. To say that he is one of the up and coming vocal talents in the metal and hard rock world would be an understatement. His strength lies in his ability to mix things up and do everything exceedingly well in the process, beginning with his foundation of the tough as nails mid-ranged but also highlighting the ability to extend for a high note with ease- and bring the heart and soul of Axl Rose (Guns N’ Roses) when need calls for it. Conversely, he can reach low and add some rumbling power along the lines of Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden) and Mike Lee (Barren Cross) or even hint of the attitude and sass of Brian Johnson (AC/DC) and Scott Wenzel (Whitecross). The upshot being how he reflects the influences of many to create his own manifold style that can best be described as intense, impassioned and on the gut level side of things.

Search Add 2 Hotel Kali Hotel Kali isn’t a place but a story; one collectively told by four people who first happened to be in the right place at exactly the right time and then managed to transcend both space and time through their music. The German-Indian band’s self-titled debut album was not designed on a drawing board but rather came to life in spontaneous jam sessions, driven by a desire to integrate four distinct voices into one narrative and marked by all the happy accidents that took place along the way. Hotel Kali is a living, breathing entity that theoretically picks up on many different musical traditions but in practice challenges them all. English and Bengali, motorik grooves and intricate guitar lines, pop sentiments and exploratory iconoclasm come together, dance around each other, and over the course of seven songs find a common ground somewhere between and far beyond cosmic rock, experimental dance music, and adventurous postrock. The story of Hotel Kali began in November 2018, when the Berlin-based musician Theresa Stroetges — also known as a solo artist under the name Golden Diskó Ship and member of the three-piece Soft Grid — came to Kolkata for a two-month artist residency organised by the Goethe-Institut and Musicboard Berlin in collaboration with the Border Movement initiative. Wanting to collaborate with local musicians rather than working in isolation, she reached out to Varun Desai for recommendations. Once the promoter, synth nerd and solo artist, who is active under the monikers 5volts and Varundo, had sent her some of his own pieces, he was the first to come on board. Soon thereafter, Stroetges and Desai were joined by the versatile double bass player and seasoned session musician Debjit Mahalanobis and the songwriter and storyteller Suyasha Sengupta a.k.a. Plastic Parvati, a former member of The Ganesh Talkies.

Search Add 2 Clem Myers Clement Myers Clem Myers (1922-1988) was a Vermont old time fiddler and co-founder and president of the [l=Northeast Fiddlers' Association] until 1972. Born in Burlington, Myers began his musical career in 1934 - joining the Dusty Miller Band (later known as [a=Dusty Miller & His Colorado Wranglers]) where he was known as "Flash Gordon". He toured with the band throughout the Northeast until World War II when he was drafted into the Air Force. After the war, he married Ginny Machia in 1946 and started a sandblasting business in Barre. With two children (Sandra and [a=Donna Myers]) and a business to run, Myers quit performing for nearly two decades until he and his wife fortuitously attended a 1964 old time fiddling concert in Plainfield put on by Goddard College's music professor, Ray McIntyre. So taken with the concert was Myers that he immediately joined together with his friend [a=Bob Slora] (of Barre) and Bob Clarke (then a Goddard student) to form a monthly fiddle club to promote, support, and preserve old time fiddle music in Vermont. Traveling around the region to recruit fiddlers by word of mouth, Myers was able to co-found the [l=Northeast Fiddlers' Association] (NEFA) a year later in 1965. Myers was elected to serve as NEFA President. He would spend the next two decades performing old time fiddling.

Search Add 2 Andy Scott Rosen Andrew Scott Rosen A New York-based jazz-influenced singer-songwriter crooner and multi-talented guitarist/pianist, Andy has a touch for writing a fine melody and composing songs with an infectious rhythm. His father was former major league baseball star [a5205013]. Although this singer-songwriter had early pop success under the stage name "Goat" when his 1996 single "Great Life" landed in a feature film, enjoying the financial rewards that come with being on a major label, his fame was fleeting. He now tends to hang out with jazz musicians, as most of the players on his more recent CDs have significant jazz credentials. He often shares the stage, performing with jazz singer/musician [a397911]. Andy's style of jazz material is fairly lighthearted and easy-going swing, with songs that sometimes echo jazz standards, and singing them in a voice that is not exactly operatic in quality.

Search Add 2 Tim Smoove Timothy L. Jones Ex Gangster Rap Producer, Tim T-Smoove Jones, is a Christian Hip-Hop/Gospel artist from California. Born in Los Angeles, California Tim Jones had a love for music and singing by the age of seven. It was then that he began piano lessons and learning to play the drums at his local church. As a teenager, Tim took to rapping and competing with other local artists in the Sacramento California area where he mostly grew up. In his early 20s Tim signed to a gangster rap label out of the Oakland California Bay Area and began producing music for various artists and independent labels. Tim‘s life at this time became what he describes as empty, promiscuous and fast paced as he began fulfilling his dreams to be apart of the music industry. After losing close friends to tragic and untimely deaths, Tim returned to his faith in God through Christ Jesus and surrendered his musical gifts and talents to the Lord. It was then that Tim realized that his musical gifts were given to him from God and he then had a fiery passion to use his musical gifts and talents for God. Tim then began producing and releasing his own music projects and distributing over 30,000 units independently. Tim has produced music for multi platinum artists such as “spice one”, “silky fine”, and many others. He has also opened the stage for gospel artist Fred Hammond captivating the audience. Tim continues to live his dream and share his musical gifts and talents to the glory of God through Christ Jesus and is looking to promote and produce new Gospel talents.

Search Add 2 Moriss Taylor American Country Western singer, radio and TV personality. Born: December 3, 1924, Miami, Oklahoma. Died: January 9, 2018, in Chico, California (age of 93). Moriss was a Chico icon and long-time KHSL television performer and radio personality and producer. He began his first radio show in Oroville, California in the late-1940s, before beginning a stint in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Following his return from the Army, Moriss performed in various bands in the mid-1950s. In 1956, he began his long-running "Moriss Taylor Show" on KHSL-TV 12 in Chico, Calif. The show featured country music performed by Moriss, with Moriss' reminiscent of the Gene Autry-style, and various guests, laced with several of Moriss' corny jokes. The program ran in original episodes from 1956-1995, with repeat programs airing on Chico television well into the 2010s - one of the longest-running (if not THE longest-running), locally-produced TV series ever created. Moriss retired from KHSL radio in 2013, where he had a concurrent, long-running radio show that began in the 1950s on KHSL 1290, before moving to 103.5 FM. His radio/TV career lasted nearly 70 years. He received an Official Chico Icon Award from the "You Know You're from Chico When..." Facebook group in 2011. Moriss passed away in his sleep, January 9, 2018.
