Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 28/01/2025
Found 600568 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Sean Hicke | A rising talent in San Diego, bassist and composer Sean Hicke quickly found his place in the local jazz scene, frequently playing with several of San Diego’s best and most imaginative musicians. Sean’s bass playing is informed by a musical upbringing that included punk, funk, jazz, musical theater, and classical music. His years of study on saxophone, clarinet, electric bass, and voice give him a melodic approach and a holistic perspective of music that he takes with him every time he plays the upright bass. An avid composer, it did not take long for Sean to develop a unique compositional voice. His original music builds upon the tradition of creative improvisatory music and is characterized by the juxtaposition of folk-like melodies with adventurous harmonic soundscapes. Sean recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree in jazz studies from San Diego State University. He maintains a small private studio and can be found playing at many of San Diego’s beloved jazz venues every week. His debut album, Sunflower Sutra, was released on January 6, 2019.

With foundations in performance art, their music project “Mourning Coup” has made its way into the arms of experimental pop. Melting-Tallow takes influences from artists like the Eurythmics, Bruce Haack and Freddie Mercury, and combines them with the exploration of the relationship of the metaphysical realm. For the last five years they've been working on her debut album “Baby Blue,” an emotionally-charged piece developed through the processing of the effects of inter-generational trauma in a world of fantasy and ethereality." - Bandcamp Bio |

Search | Add | 2 | Giovanni Francesco Pressenda | Giovanni Francesco Pressenda | Giovanni Francesco Pressenda (1777—12 Dec 1854), also known as Joannes Franciscus Pressenda, was an Italian luthier, one of the formative figures of the "Turin School" of violin-making. Giovanni grew up in a remote village and spent his early adulthood working on farms. With a natural talent for crafts and wood-carving, Pressenda eventually relocated to a more urban area. In the early/mid-1810s, he pursued luthiery at Nicolas Leté-Pillement's renowned workshop in Turin. An avid French entrepreneur, Lete-Pillement operated his atelier very efficiently, with a sizable staff of specialists, continuous training and workflow procedures, etc. Their instruments represented the "Parisian style," essentially modified Stradivarius, and this influence prevailed in Pressenda's early builds. After Nicolas Leté passed away in 1819, Giovanni F. Pressenda, who was the only Italian on staff, gradually took over the atelier. Around 1832, Pressenda established his independent workshop in Turin. Giovanni Francesco operated it as "manifattura," perhaps inspired by his business-savvy French teachers, and had multiple assistants and apprentices; his best-known student was Giuseppe Rocca. It appears that Pressenda actively spread bogus claims he was Lorenzo Storioni's apprentice in Cremona before relocating to Turin, perhaps to increase his brand's credibility. In later instruments, Pressenda was bolder and more inventive, experimenting and introducing some original solutions. With the iconic scribe line down the center of the scroll and darker-red varnish, Pressenda's violins became a benchmark of "Turin School" for the next few generations of Italian luthiers. |

Search | Add | 2 | Slithey Tove | The band was germinated when Simon Whaley (guitar) met Simon Burgin (guitar) in an Essex college in 1989 and went to work on Whaley’s backlog of demos, musical whiffs and nick nacks. They made ‘The Si’s tape’ which became an inspiration and quickly a band materialised via college friends Aaron Liddard (sax) and Toby Baron (drums) to develop the tunes. The band was completed with Conrad Winchester (bass) and occasional Steve Baker (guitar/perc) from psyche band Triptych. Together they started to gig, embellishing the tunes with extended jams and never playing a song the same way twice. They played double bills with The Green Ray around East London, for whom Simon was drummer with his brother Ken Whaley on bass. Burgin and Liddard were also Green Ray players later on. Slithey Tove quickly became a draw for their fun psychedelic gigs with odd timings and mid-song genre shifts. The band’s on-stage joy was infectious. They were soon playing the mushroom parties and pub skittle alleys of Devon, to the student digs of Manchester, as well as demos and squats, thriving in the heady days of the free-festival scene in the early 90s. They also played Glastonbury, Norfolk Festival of the Sun and Cambridge’s Strawberry Fair. The Tove family grew with the addition of Doug Southall (vox) from ‘Blitzed’ and David Reed (percussion) to become a tighter and more versatile band, weaving humour with highly practiced syncopations akin to Zappa, with the spirit of Gong and the driving riffs of Zeppelin. At other times they could be gentle and pastorale. Their gigs became an ironic pastiche; a smorgasbord of styles that offered unpredictability and musical surprises. Some of their range is demonstrated on this album. An exciting support act, Slithey Tove played with The Crazy World of Arthur Brown and Doctor and the Medics and were occasionally joined by Ozric Tentacles’ flautist Jumping John. As the decade wore on and the free festival scene became prohibited, the band slowly disintegrated with little to show except a handful of live recordings. Conrad moved away and formed Whip the Minister, Toby became the drummer for Ray Davis. Aaron moved to Manchester to become a renowned jazz saxophonist and later joined Amy Winehouse’s band at her peak. Simons Whaley and Burgin continued with The Green Ray, where Whaley still resides, now on guitar. After Simon Burgin’s sad passing in 2000 the band came together to support The Green Ray in Walthamstow once again, joined on bass by Jonty Bankes whilst on sabbatical from The Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain, and the magic was reignited. They continued to play gigs here and there for a while but commitments, babies and emigration got in the way, so Aaron suggested recording an album instead. Several years of studious tinkering later and we are proud to share the results. So here it is folks! Slithey Tove’s Big Top of musical acts.

Search | Add | 2 | Latchkey Lights | Latchkey Lights began when Shonda Robbins and Daniel Colby collaborated together over late night cocktails on a barely playable cheap acoustic guitar that someone had left for dead. After realizing that the composition of the music Colby was creating married perfectly with the blues-influenced Southern vocals and lyrics of Robbins, they decided to form a band. Colby reached out to Loved Ones, Vapers guitarist B. David Walsh who he had met in the late 90's and collaborated with in their Jade Tree Records released project The Explosion. Juxtaposing this primal energy with another of his musical connections, Colby recruited bassist PJ Norman. The pair are comrades in post-punk outfit Glass Rifle, one of several projects on which they have co-created, released through Norman's 100m Records imprint. Rounding out the line-up is drummer-extraordinaire Peter Hilton, whose credentials include Nodzzz, Piano Movers and Tiger Dare. In 2016 the 5-piece recorded and released their debut EP, Latchkey Lights, on 100m Records, which East Village Radio described as having a "very cool Au Pairs/X vibe". The band hope you enjoy it. After a string of dates in 2016, 2017 saw the band take to the stage as a 4-piece after Walsh's departure to honor commitments with The Explosion and Vapers. The band thrived in the added space, sharing stages with groups like Moles and Pissed Jeans. Latchkey Lights now announce their late 2017 full-length, Escape Clause.

Search | Add | 2 | La Discoteca | La Discoteca new retro wave Italian band that shines like the Chicago clubs in the nineties, chewing gum with an eighties flavor, but that, at the same time, knows how to sing about it today, its torments, its wonders. La Discoteca is not afraid to tell you that yes, a bit of nostalgia for those years has it, but of those that on the face make the smile appear, and in the legs still a lot of desire to dance.
