Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | 291outer space | 291outer space is a side project of the [a3239107] collective of musicians and music producers, born from the friendship and collaboration between the bass player/band leader [a4635943] and the DJ/producer [a7098445] alias Ivan Cibien who, several years ago, started reworking applied music recordings of the band turning to electronic space trail and bringing a new range of original production into being. It's an «imaginative and cinematically suitable sound» as well as overtly dance-oriented, retaining the idea of a fusion language in which the organic and the inorganic combine, ready to be blasted off towards hidden galaxies, across cosmic rubble, funk influences, a kraut tinge, and sci-fi surroundings.

Search | Add | 2 | Phil Ogison | Phil Ogison (known to some by the nom de musique Gwyn) was born at Folkestone, the county of Kent, England, November 6, 1948, just 3 years after the Nazis had given up and gone home. His earliest musical experience was heard in his head, while riding past a medieval castle with his parents. This repeating pattern of minor notes has remained with him to this day. In 1963 he came to Canada with his parents, and lived first in Alberta, then The Yukon, and then BC. He began playing around with draw organs, frequency generators and tape loops in 1966 with the help of an electrician friend, Ken Morin. In 1973 he purchased his first commercial synthesizer, a Roland SH2. Roland has played a prominent part in Phil’s life ever since, along with ARP, Oberheim, Moog and now Steinberg’s family of virtual synths. Along the way, Phil picked up the guitar, and fretless bass, both of which feature from time to time in his music, along with the gorgeous and sultry vocal talents of his wife, Catherine Tammaro and the brilliant synthesizer collaborations of Anne Sulikowski. With over thirty five years of experience in the experimental and avant-pop realms, Phil presents his work both under his own name, and the project name, The Devil In The Design.

Search | Add | 2 | Mildred Harrison | Mildred was the first Black American woman "imprisoned" in Vietnam. She went to Vietnam in 1966 to entertain USA troops with her husband Eddie O'Neils's blessing. In Saigon she stayed in a villa operated by George Albrecht, of the World Wide Talent Agency, with other entertainers. She did shows for the 3rd Field and 17th Field Hospitals. She also went to DaNang with only six more days left in Vietnam. She was detained on the 26th December until the 5th February when a Customs agent came to her villa and brought her passport, with news the `charges and fines had been reduced'." George took care of everything and finally she was on her way back to the US. She was not a POW in the strict sense of the word she was indeed imprisoned wrongfully in a country the US was helping to defend!

Search | Add | 2 | Herbert Elwell | Herbert Elwell (May 10, 1898 - April 17, 1974) was an American composer and music critic. A native of Minneapolis, he was among the first Americans to study in France with Nadia Boulanger. While in Paris his Quintet for Piano and Strings (1924) garnered more praise than George Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue, which was premiered at the same concert. He began his studies in music at the University of Minnesota, and went on to work with Ernest Bloch prior to his sojourn in France. He also attended the American Academy in Rome during which time he composed his most frequently performed work, the ballet The Happy Hypocrite (1925). In 1928 Elwell moved to Cleveland, Ohio to join the composition and music theory faculty at the Cleveland Institute of Music where he remained until 1945. He later taught at the Oberlin Conservatory of Music for nine years and spent summers teaching at the Eastman School of Music. Some of his notable pupils include Bain Murray, Walter Aschaffenburg, and Howard Whittaker. He also served as the music critic for The Plain Dealer for 32 years. As a composer, Elwell wrote a considerable body of chamber music and vocal music. Many of his vocal pieces were written for soprano Marie Simmelink Kraft. He also composed a number of orchestral works which were extolled by such conductors as Artur Rodzinski, Leopold Stokowski, William Steinberg and Howard Hanson. In 1961 he was awarded the first Cleveland Arts Prize for Music. His other accolades include the Paderewski Prize, the Marjorie Peabody Waite Award from the National Institute of Arts and Letters, and honorary doctorates from the University of Rochester and Western Reserve University.
