Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025

Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Gelify François Boureau Gelify is a french producer of techno music who started playing the guitar in some metal bands, then in jazz ones before starting to produce electronic music. He has been producing melodic techno and trance for about three years. He released his first single - Melodic Rain - on Aftertech Records in 2015. In addition, a complete album called Midnight Sun was released on Roxxx Records, followed by two EP - White Magic and Invasion - including great remixes from great artists. He recently released another album called New Turn on Roxxx Records again. This album represents the end of his melodic techno period and the beginning of his techno one : more harsh, more rhythmic, more hypnotic and demanding the listener to dance. He is now fully focused on this genre, working on new tracks to be released on bigger labels and on a live project to perform in France. A worldwide tour is possibly and hopefully on the cards !

Search Add 2 George Steeltoe Ensemble In 1999 the George Steeltoe Ensemble began experimenting in free jazz and other improvisational forms through weekly "church" sessions at the Lexington, KY home of Brian Osborne. The group originally performed mostly as a quartet with Jeff Chapple, Jay Dunbar, Lathan Hardy and Brian Osborne. In 2001 the group moved to Brooklyn where it continues to evolve to this day. Currently the Ensemble's line-up includes Brian Osborne on drums, Lathan Hardy on sax, Michael Barker on electronics, and Tom Blancarte on bass. The following people have also played in the Ensemble over the past ten years: Dylan Angell, Andrew Barker, Ed Bear, Casey Block, Daniel Carter, Ed Chang, Tom Clark, Ross Compton, Marcus Cummins, Peter Evans, Dave Farris, Walker Hancock, Trevor Healy, Sam Hicks, Erik Hinds, Michael T. Jackson, Joel Lambdin, Elisa Osborne, Melissa Putz, RADAR Dance, Speight Rhue, Mark Savage, Jeffrey Shurdut, Tamio Shiraishi, Blaise Siwula, Robin Siwula, Jasper Stadhouders, and Marc Zajack. In 2006 George Steeltoe Ensemble released their first recording titled Church of Yuh, which Blastitude dubbed "refreshingly nasty garbage jazz all the way, maybe even a new kind of fire music". The group's sound made WIRE imagine "the Art Ensemble of Chicago jamming with Jackie-O Motherfucker". Preferring live performance over recordings; the group's only other release is a 3" on Primecuts, which documents the group, eight strong, on a day off during their 2007 Spring Tour.

In 1992 the band members moved to Kyzyl and took name Второй Вариант, recording a demo in the same year titled "Имение Слёз". During 1993 they changed name to Нон-Облом playing punk-rock and recorded an unreleased album titled "Брат Сатаны" in 1994 which was many years later made available in a Mp3 CD collection. The debut album was recorded in 1996 while the band was still called Нон-Облом but when Anatoly Krupnov introduced them to Moroz Records, they were forced to change name into Адепт Хорc before the album was released

Search Add 2 AWOLism Andreas Wolmer AWOLism makes music for a car ride through the night, a companion to the street lights passing by. This is the soundtrack of drawing, reading sci-fi novels or listening in headphones in the dark. It is not quite ambient, not quite dance music. AWOLism is Andreas Wolmer. Andreas started making music in the early nineties and has been involved in several bands and projects in various genres, from electro pop to crust punk. The AWOLism moniker provides an outlet for his midtempo oriented electronica. These are the tracks with the big bass, the shuffling rhythms and the gentle melodies

Search Add 2 Walter De Maria Walter Joseph De Maria Born October 1, 1935, in Albany, California. He died on July 25, 2013 in Los Angeles of a stroke. Walter De Maria was an American artist, sculptor, drummer and composer. In 1957, he graduated from the University of California at Berkeley, where he earned his M.F.A. in painting two years later. De Maria and his friend, the avant-garde composer [a=La Monte Young], participated various in Happenings and theatrical productions in the San Francisco area. In 1961, he made his first wooden box sculptures. In 1963 he worked as a drummer for [a1139084] the first incarnation of Reed-Cale future group [a=The Velvet Underground]. He continued to work in wood, began his "invisible drawings", and composed music. With the support of collector Robert C. Scull, De Maria started making pieces in metal in 1965. Born October 1, 1935, in Albany, California, De Maria emerged as a leader of the Earthworks movement in 1968 when he filled the Galerie Heiner Friedrich in Munich with dirt. Earthworks and serial geometric sculpture continue to occupy De Maria in the 1970s: his Three Continent Project was completed in 1972 and the Lightning Field, one of his most accomplished work of land-art, in New Mexico was finished in 1977. He lived and worked in New York. In 2000 two of his conceptual recordings from 1964 and 1968 finally came out on a self-released CD.

Search Add 2 HYPNOTOAD 3000 Emerging from the damp underbelly of the breakbeat biosphere, HYPNOTOAD 3000 presents Swamp Tapes '23–'25: an unbroken 40-minute sonic crawl through the murky wetlands of jungle, breakbeat, and ambient dub. Released on underground imprint Frogs in the Function, this full-length journey blurs the line between mixtape, concept album and rave artefact. Somewhere between a bootleg Bukem tape from '94 and the startup sound of a forgotten alien drum machine, Swamp Tapes '23–'25 features 18 original productions, recorded straight to cassette in a single take. You might hear echoes of lounge-core trip-hop twisted into hardcore shellshock. Or maybe you're just hallucinating in the swamp again.

Search Add 2 Mateusz Michałkiewicz Mateusz Michałkiewicz Born in early 90s. Grew up in a small town somewhere in Opole voivodeship in Poland. Then he moved to Katowice. One of his first tracks has been registered in 2017 on his mobile – this can be considered as start of the music project. Active creation began after that and was based mainly on field recordings, experiments with musique concrete, noise and sampling. Over time, after accumulating huge amounts of materials he started to work on his laptop and edit sounds in DAW programs. Right after starting to work with music he came up with many ideas and along with the acquired experience a fruit of his work appeared – his first album named Prisoners of their own bodies. It was released by the label situated in Kołobrzeg – Plaża Zachodnia

Search Add 2 Dr. Wm. H. "Bill" Alexander William H. Alexander Born: January 20, 1915 at Shelbyville, Missouri, United States. Died: April 3, 1960 at Camp Hill, Pennsylvania, United States. William "Bill" Alexander's father was a pastor based in St. Louis, Missouri. As a young man, Bill initially pursued a career in show business as a vaudeville emcee and musician. In the early 1930s, he attended the University of Tulsa with the aim of becoming a pastor like his father. In 1935, he became a student pastor First Christian Church in Stroud, Oklahoma, where he grew the congregation from 35 to 600 within a few years. Bill then stepped away to focus on his education and subsequently headed a Los Angeles, California, church for a year. In 1942, he became the pastor of First Christian Church in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. A few years later, after World War II, Bill focused on realizing his vision for a campus called the Church of Tomorrow. The complex would be one of the largest in the United States and included a modern sanctuary, educational buildings, theatre, youth center, picnic and camping grounds, baseball fields, tennis courts, and a 3,500-seat amphitheater. Design was undertaken by Conner & Pojezny Designs and the complex's phased construction began in the late 1940s. In 1950, Bill lost his bid as a Republican for the U.S. Senate. In 1952, he became the national chaplain for the Republican Party during Dwight D. Eisenhower’s first run for office. In December 1956, a milestone for The Church of Tomorrow was reached when construction of the First Christian Church was complete and it opened. The sanctuary had a dramatic egg-shaped dome configuration. The futuristic design became a beloved icon for the state of Oklahoma and it was lauded in national publications such as Life, Newsweek, and Architectural Record. However, Bill did not get to see the rest of the Church of Tomorrow project come to fruition. In April 1960, while flying to a speaking engagement in Hershey, Pennsylvania, his plane crashed during a rainstorm. Bill, his wife Mary Louise, and their pilot M.S. Shuman were all killed when their twin-engine plane crashed into a parking lot while attempting to land. Bill’s life insurance would fund the Church of Tomorrow's William H. "Bill" Alexander Memorial Youth Center, which was dedicated in 1961. Work continued on completing construction of the campus, with the final building being completed in the mid-1960s. In 2011, the First Christian Church was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 2016, the aging building and the rest of the Church of Tomorrow property were placed for sale. In 2017, the church building was placed on Preservation Oklahoma's list of the state's Most Endangered Historic Places. In 2022, the First Christian Church was demolished.
