Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | Current b-lectric | Benas Buivydas | The Current b-lectric is the main sound project of Benas Buivydas (a.k.a. b-), a sound explorer from Lithuania. The project consists of various experiments with modular synths, tape loops, noise boxes, field recordings, mangled samples, and whatnot. Despite the ever-changing experimental nature of the sounds, there is an underlying feeling of darkness and melancholy. Despite the occasionally appearing rhythms the music is trying to evoke a dreamlike state; its recordings feature ambient loops, detached monologue samples, various field recordings, etc. One thread connecting all recordings is the use of various body parameters (like heartbeat pulse or breath) to automate part of the recording process: opening/closing of filters, filling in additional percussion elements, panning in the stereo field, or controlling the volume of some particular part. This feature makes the artist himself part of the electrical current, hence the name Current b-lectric. |

Search | Add | 5 | Lily Gale | Lily Gale | Lily Gale is a Dutch music producer known for her energetic pounding symphonic hard trance. Her musical journey started in 1998, where she hosted a weekly show at a Dutch radio station, where she played various music. Around 2002 she developed an interest in electronic trance music. During her early musical career she became acquainted with several DJ’s and producers, with whom she started producing music and playing records. This was the foundation from where she developed many contacts in the dance scene. Always inspired by modern art, Lily Gale combines different art forms to her music in the widest sense of electronic dance music. Her vision encompasses a mixture of symphonical, progressive, avant-garde electronic dance music along the lines of goa, techno and trance. She feels that there must be a tale to be told and emotions to be felt. Deep rounded kicks and basslines pull the audience into the storyline while chapters emerge layer by layer working through moments of void, shrouded cosmic mysteries and ultimately fulfilling climaxes. Meanwhile her passion for modern arts took her around Europe where her art was exhibited in many renown places in Amsterdam and Brussels. Often she made her paintings available for non-profit charity organisations dedicated to help families and children. In 2009 she received the honorable Diploma of Excellence Award from leading global art organisation Artoteque for her work. Since 2021 Lily Gale has her own label named Star Vision Records for her more trance oriented work. With her behind the scenes experience around emerging artists & labels, knowhow in music production, distribution and marketing it’s a natural step in her musical endeavours. Her harder techno and industrial productions can be found on labels like Blackly Beyond Records. |

After re-reading the 2 volumes, Pascal proposed the texts to the other members of the GROUPE 13 NOVEMBRE, created for this opportunity: Backing Vocals, Drums – [a4245699] Guitar, Backing Vocals, Bass – [a5480532] Piano, Synthesizer, Backing Vocals – [a1078708] Vocals, Bass Guitar – [a4245701] The recording was laborious but at the same time a lot of good times. Certainly too early/ahead of its time, this work is realized in the form of a musical comedy or opera rock. The expected result, even after a few TV promo, will not be at the desired height: just one album with only one promo extract published |

Their 2nd single "Body Rock" had been discoverd by Tony Garcia who supported this track enormously and after instant club use it quickly made it into the US Billboard Top 20 although not being a real hit in Germany. But the Americans somehow liked the German-sounding track (Teutonic Beats / German EBM) and Tony Garcia even remixed and co-produced the US pressing. |

Search | Add | 5 | The Moscow Male Jewish Choir "Hasidic Cappella" | The Male Choir of Cantorial Art Academy was established in 1989 with personal support from Mikhail Gorbachev, then president of the USSR, and assistance from the Russian Jewish Community and JOINT, an American Jewish charity. In 1998 the choir was renamed the Hassidic Cappella and based at the Moscow Maryina Roshcha Jewish Community. Since 2012 until preset time The Moscow Male Jewish Cappella is working under the support of The Russian Jewish Congress and The State Classical Maimonides Academy. The choir's singers are all professional musicians - students and teachers at Moscow Tchaikovsky State Conservatory and other leading musical institutes in the capital who have performed in the city's most acclaimed choral groups. They are united by their commitment to introducing listeners to the beauty of Jewish liturgical and cantorial music -- music that has been forgotten and remains unknown to even the most educated lovers of music. The choir's extensive repertory includes Jewish liturgical music, songs in Yiddish and Hebrew, Russian folk songs, and classics of world music. The choir is one of the few recognized professional Jewish academic musical groups in the world and the only one in Russia. Guided by the deep and ancient traditions of both Jewish and Russian professional choral singing, the choir is reviving the art of Jewish choral and vocal music, demonstrating at every performance that the riches of Jewish culture are an inalienable part of Russia's multi-national tradition and world culture. Audiences always respond enthusiastically to Jewish liturgical music, entranced by its originality, unusual beauty and harmonies. For most concert-goers, this is uncharted musical territory. This music appeared in the early and mid-19th century in the countries of Eastern Europe and Western Russia, but it virtually disappeared after the 1917 revolution. Only in the second half of the 20th century did its revival begin. The choir has performed in countless Russian cities, in the former Soviet republics, and in 13 foreign countries. Performances are held in Jewish community venues, but also on the stages of the most prestigious concert halls in Russia and abroad. The group has performed in all three halls of the Moscow Conservatory (the Small, Grand and Rakhmaninov Halls); the Hall of Columns of the House of Trade Unions; the Academy of Music and Carl Orff Hall in Munich; the Theatron Yerushalayim in Jerusalem; and Lincoln Center in New York. Wherever they have performed, audiences and critics have responded with accolades. The choir has performed before the presidents of Russia, the USA, Poland, and Israel. Three times the group was honored to give concerts before the royal families of Denmark, Sweden and Norway on the anniversary of the Danish rescue operation of Jews during World War II. The Hassidic Cappella also takes part in many events organized by Russian state, cultural and concert organizations and the Russian Jewish Community. For many years the Hassidic Cappella has had the honor to give subscription concerts with the Moscow State Philharmonic in the Grand Hall of the Moscow Conservatory. The choir has performed many times with renowned Russian and foreign symphony orchestras under the direction of Arnold Katz, Mark Gorenshteyn, Yuri Bashmet, Roman Kofman and Zubin Mehta, with such acclaimed soloists as Mikhail Alexandrovich, Nehama Lifshits, Joseph Kabzon, and Joseph Malovany, the chief cantor of the Fifth Avenue Synagogue in New York. The choir founder and artistic director, Alexander Tsaliuk, has directed more than 800 concerts and participated in countless international festivals and competitions. The choir has recorded five CDs and two films. Universal Music released and distributed two CDs and one DVD. In an interview to the newspaper Izvestiya in 2000, the cantor Joseph Malovany said: "I know that Russians have big hearts and they are a wonderful audience to perform to warm, grateful and knowledgeable. It's a delight to sing before them. On this trip I plan to give two concerts in Moscow and St. Petersburg. I'll be performing with the Hassidic Cappella, which is, in my view, the best Jewish musical group in the world."

Search | Add | 5 | D. R. Bendre | Dattatreya Ramachandra Bendre | Dattatreya Ramachandra Bendre (31 January 1896 – 26 October 1981), popularly known as Da. Ra. Bendre, was a Kannada poet of the Navodaya Period. He was given the honorific Varakavi ('the gifted poet-seer'). Bendre was awarded the Jnanapita for his 1964 poetry collection, ನಾಕು ತಂತಿ (Naaku Tanti). Bendre published most of his work as ಅಂಬಿಕಾತನಯದತ್ತ (Ambikatanayadatta; lit. Datta, son of Ambika). Often mistaken for a pseudonym in the Western sense, Bendre described Ambikatanayadatta as the "universal inner voice" within him that dictated what he (Bendre) then presented in Kannada to the world. He was recognized as the Karnataka Kavi Kula Thilaka ("The crown-jewel among Kannada Poets") by the Udupi Adamuru Matha. He was also awarded the Padma Shri in 1968 and made a fellow of the Sahitya Akademi in 1969. |

Manager of the Marquee club from 1968 1970, John Gee is one of key figures of the club who turned the focus of the club to new music styles. Often described as a Frank Sinatra freak who had no appreciation for new styles of music, John Gee was in fact a man completely committed to the development of jazz music in the UK and was the one who bid for it's fusion with new forms of music. Under the banner of "New Paths", Gee gave an opportunity to bands like Jethro Tull , Circus and King Crimson on the Sunday nights of 1969. The figure of John Gee is also associated with the birth of the rhythm and blues days in London. Gee became secretary of the club in 1968 and a year later, under his influence, the club had extended it's offer from Thursdays to a three night schedule (Monday, Thursday and Sunday).

Search | Add | 5 | Rebelhot | rebelHot is a 4 piece band absolutely soaked in rootsy 70’s Rock influences. A mix of rock, blues, and funk you can’t miss. Since releasing their debut album back in 2016, featuring Jason Patterson from Cry of Love as special guest and mastered by Alessadro Del Vecchio, rebelHot have already toured and also played at festivals around Europe with artists like Y&T, The Darkness, Joe Lynn Turner, The Quireboys, Autograph, Skinny molly and many others. Their long awaited new album “Uncomfortableness” will be released worldwide on October the 12th 2018 via Metalapolis records and will feature 10 brand new songs plus an exclusive bonus track on the Vinyl edition. “Uncomfortableness” has been produced by rebelHot, recorded, mixed and mastered at their own P-Rose Studio by guitarist Paul Mainetti. The band recorded the majority of the album live directly in the studio mixing console and they’re very proud of this rough old style result. No digital effects or overdubs were used and it sounds live just like the 70s albums you're used to. The new album has been enriched with some bluesy sounds like harmonica and female choirs in a few songs, while still maintaining that funky power and those Southern sounds typical of the band.

Search | Add | 5 | Ken Kobold | Ken Kobold of Ottawa, Illinois was a recording engineer who has been recording Drum Corps on reel-to-reel tape. He was active in the 1970s and 1980s. Back in the 1970s, if you wanted to find a recording of a corps dating back to the 1950s, there was only one man who could possibly help you -- Ken Kobold. Kobold was the only person who had quality sound recordings of hundreds of corps dating back to the early 1950s. After years of doing it himself for posterity purposes, [l153566] asked for his help. From 1971 to 1982, Kobold was the only recording engineer for DCI. Because of his love for the activity, he gave his services to the young organization and made master recordings of all the DCI Championships. This effort made it possible for DCI to produce albums and cassettes to sell to fans across the continent and world. By selling these recordings, [l153566] was able to survive those beginning years. The records were the organization's only fundraiser and enabled the DCI board of directors to hire a full time executive director. From there, the organization grew, but not without Kobold's continued help. In addition, he was in sole possession of a historical library made up of professional drum corps recordings dating from the 1950s to 1987, when he retired. He nurtured that collection through the years to not only include the "big" corps but also the hometown units as well. [a8440542], former executive director of DCI, explained, "Through all the years of helping DCI grow, Ken's only request was to have a place where he could set up his equipment to do his job. He was the ultimate volunteer." Ken also started the Marquette Crusaders in Ottawa, IL in 1954. It was first started at Marquette HS, the only Catholic high school in town. Within the first few years they changed the name to allow any kids in Ottawa and surrounding towns to join. Ken was inducted into the DCI Hall of Fame in 1989. He passed away in 1992.

Search | Add | 5 | Stephanie Staples | Stephanie Staples has spent half her life captivating audiences with her rich, dynamic, and soothing voice. Passionate and expressive, Stephanie has the keen ability to connect with a wide variety of audiences. Her strong stage presence and down to earth nature enables her to communicate, entertain, and inspire. Stephanie has been involved in music ever since she was a little girl, first participating in musical theatre and studying vocal performance under the direction of three different vocal coaches. She began singing professionally at age thirteen, appearing at music festivals, conferences, churches and other venues. A gifted songwriter, Stephanie has recorded six self-produced albums. The first, Breathe on Me—an easy-listening acoustic album with soul-searching lyrics—was released in 2001 and again in 2003 to include two additional songs. Her second project, Face to Face was released in 2006, and Journey Home followed in 2007. Over the years, Stephanie has been privileged to work with (and learn from) some of the best musicians in the business, including Grammy Award-winning guitarist Bill Hatcher (Henry Mancini, Luciano Pavarotti), Mike Pachelli, and Ronnie Ciago. Hatcher has been a consistent contributor on all six of Stephanie’s projects, including her latest release, Interlude. Each of Stephanie’s albums has a unique sound but all portray the same quality: genuineness. Over the years many listeners have commented that her albums are “soothing” and “an experience.” This quality can’t be faked—Stephanie has faced the darkness, having passed through suffering and hard times, and she pours the full depth of her experiences into her music, taking the listener on a journey with her through the dark times—yet always in the presence of true peace and redemption. Sing Over Me (2010), is an eclectic album, with each song having a distinct flavor, prominently featuring Latin, organic, and classical elements along with creative percussion and strings (cello, violin, upright bass). This diversity of sound centers upon a single theme—that of learning to accept life’s uncertainties and discovering peace. In 2013 Stephanie released a Christmas record, Emmanuel. Stephanie has traveled across the United States and all the way to China to share her music. Her long list of credits include festivals, retreats, universities, schools (elementary, middle, and high schools), churches, conferences, campus ministries, multiple centers for disadvantaged youth/inner city ministries, military bases, and shelters for the homeless. She has performed before 20,000 at New Zealand’s Parachute Music Festival, joining Third Day’s Mac Powell for a powerful rendition of the duet, “God of Wonders,” has made many trips to Brooklyn, New York to minister at Teen Challenge, an organization founded by David Wilkerson to help the addicted, and has opened for a variety of artists including Third Day, Tammy Trent, Newsong, and Jaci Valasquez. Her passion to encourage and bring light and joy to people has been a motivating force in continuing her musical journey for over a decade. Stephanie currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband, Erik Rostad, daughter Scotlyn Naomi, and two fur children, Java and Edward.

Search | Add | 5 | Akin Khan | Akin Khan | Born December 30, 1974, Turkey. My musical odyssey started about two decades ago. That was a short time before the fall of the Berlin wall. It was in the early nineties, when we had immigrated to Germany. I was 15. As so often in life, the beginning was a mere accident in conjunction with a youngster's curiosity. We had moved into another town, where I happened to pass a record shop and heard this music - unlike anything I had ever heard before. It was loud, it was hard, it was Jeff Mills Waveform Transmission Vol. I. This name was to thread through my rather modest biography like a recurrent theme The sound was fearsome and exciting at the same time, an encounter with something quite unknown. I was just curious … where does this music come from, who makes it, and above all how do they do it!?? At a later date the puzzle came together when various facts gradually combined into a picture that had a name to it - Detroit !! And there were other masterpieces: Robert Hood - Minimal Nation, Kenny Larkin - Metaphor and Laurent Garnier - Shot in the Dark. More records followed, 2 Turntables and a battle mixer. My collection increased with my musical likings. I then went back to the roots. Soul and jazz music became decisive factors in my musical development. Techno made me a music lover, but I was not limited to one style. Towards the end of the decade I stopped putting on records and took up photography … but that is a different story Although I was not active in terms of music in the new millennium, my enthusiasm for that sound and my respect for the artists remained unabated. And in early 2007, again quite accidentally (how else), I started to make music myself. |
