Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | The Dickson Brothers | The Dycke Brothers was a country rock band from the seventies of the twentieth century. The band came from the lesser known Dickson Brothers. This was a country group, founded around 1962 by four brothers from the Dicke family in Dordrecht. From 1972 they played under the name Dycke Brothers. Members were Andre Dicke, Dop Dicke, Rop Dicke, Freek Dicke, (cousins of the artist Otto Dicke) and Tony van der Hoek. In addition to an LP and a number of singles, they made dozens of jingles for Radio Noordzee International in the seventies of the last century, such as: "You are at work and the radio plays, on the shop, in the car, or at home, music from the North Sea is always with you, with Radio 220 "and" Radio Northsea International station "Also jingles were made for the pirate station Hof van Holland in 1975 and Radio Mi Amigo. In 1982 the band provided the background vocals on the LP Eye to eye of Lenny Kuhr. A few brothers played in the band of Benny Neyman in the early nineties. Freek Dicke has performed with many famous artists such as Rob de Nijs, Bonnie St. Claire, Willeke Alberti, Paul de Leeuw and René Froger

Search | Add | 5 | The Combustibles | The five members of The Combustibles who recorded Watch Her and Some Peace of Mind were its regulars during the band’s final act from 1969-72. But each entered the band from vastly different directions. Brothers George (on bass) and Lionel Taylor (on lead), the founder members, were children of British parents who decided to stay on in India after the country’s independence in 1947. George and Lionel recall playing their first guitars and singing together at St. Joseph’s boarding school in Bangalore as young teenagers, inspired by the early harmonies of The Beatles. Returning to Bombay in 1965, they started playing publicly in informal settings till the first edition of The Combustibles formed in 1967. The Taylor parents and their sister Ellen, were the band’s initial mentors and remained their biggest supporters and fans. Everett Perry first discovered his lyrical skills at the young age of thirteen, while in high school at St. Michael’s in the Bandra suburb of Bombay when a number of his friends approached him to pen love poems for their girlfriends – a skill they apparently did not possess! One of his earliest successes, on the local radio called The Cadbury Show resulted in a prize of a dozen Cadbury bars. The poet in Everett ended up becoming The Combustibles song-writer and composer. The oldest in the band by about five years, he was the only one who had theoretical training in music and studied the piano till the intermediate stage. Everett took over the lead vocal slot and became one of the most recognized front-men in the Bombay rock scene – ably supported by George who managed most of the harmony vocals. Bobby Furtado, the baby of the band and brother-in-law of manager Godfrey Uttanwalla, was an important link in The Combustibles chain. For a drummer, Bobby was quiet to a fault and self-effacing till he got on stage! Drumming since the age of sixteen, he had only played with a few local amateur bands till the opportunity to join the band occurred following the illness of regular drummer Croyden Maben late in 1969. Bobby seized the opportunity with both hands (and a strong leg on the bass drum) and provided the basic beat to the music of The Combustibles till the band disbanded in the summer of 1972. While George and Lionel were beginning to practice the harmonies of The Beatles in Bangalore, Everett was honing his song-writing skills and Bobby had still to start playing the drums, Nissim was 8500 miles away in Washington D.C., with his family where his father had just begun employment with the IMF. The family arrived just a month before the horror of President Kennedy’s assassination but three months later, with all of America, watched The Beatles launch a rock revolution as they opened their first appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show on 9th February 1964, four days after Nissim’s fourteenth birthday, with All My Loving. Like every teenage boy at the time it seemed, Nissim was hooked and soon had his first cheap acoustic guitar. But nothing went very far until fate intervened and a classmate in high school named Pat Loper invited Nissim to his home where every member of the family (including the Mom) would sit around after dinner playing the guitar and strumming classic country songs. Buck Owens and the Buckaroos was what they played most! There was no rock played in the Loper household – though Act Naturally was soon to be an important bridge between Buck Owens and Ringo and The Beatles! Five years later as the family got ready to return to India, a friendly salesman at Veneman Music in the Arlington suburb of Washington D.C. suggested to Nissim’s father that his son would do well to take along a Fender Stratocaster and this new fuzz-wah pedal of a type that a guitarist named Jimi Hendrix had already made very famous. Nissim’s passport to The Combustibles had just been delivered!

Search | Add | 5 | The Beagle Ranch | Beagle Ranch | Initially formed as a solo musical vehicle for frontman/songwriter Stephen Bandola, this Calgary, Alberta based band has evolved over the years to where it is now a fully functioning quartet. But let's take you back in time while introducing you to the members of the group. Bandola is formerly the bass player and co-frontman of early '90s college-radio favourites Citrus Park. With the Beagle Ranch, he set out to play and write melodic guitar-based music with a strong songwriting focus and an appreciation for the perfectly crafted 3-minute pop tune. Bandola's first quest for pop perfection manifested itself in the 2001 release "Starcrossed". Recorded at former Citrus Park bandmate Jeff Burns' recording studio, "Starcrossed" saw the Beagle melodic direction firmly in place. Shortly after the release of "Starcrossed", the Beagle ranks increased by one. Lead guitar/harmony vocalist Jeff Kushner formally joined Bandola. Also a Calgary music scene veteran, Kushner had most recently fronted his own group, "The Beauty Myth". The duo released the 6 track recording "Mr. Ordinary World" in 2005, and played around Calgary as an acoustic duo. 2006 saw the band add bassist Conan Daly to the lineup. A longtime friend of both Jeff and Steve, and former bassist with Celtic quintet "Scatter the Mud", Daly joined his fellow pop connoisseurs in their quest for pop perfection. While gigging frequently throughout 2007 & 2008, the Beagles still had time (with the aid of their drummer pal Josip Vulic) to record the 4 song "Christmas Time" E.P. The recording (again recorded at Burns studio) centered around Bandola's seasonal ode "It's Christmas Time". More recording and playing in 2009, (with help from their pal Miles Krowicki on drums) followed by an extended break in 2010 brings us almost up to speed. 2011 was a bountiful year for the band. They released their full length CD, "A Moment Away" to great reviews (ranked #21 by the Absolute Powerpop website (Florida) "Powerpop CDs of the year" - ahead of new releases by Sloan and Fountains of Wayne). They also welcomed drummer Dave Horrocks to the Beagle ranks. In addition to his extensive behind the board experience at Calgary's Sundae Sound, Dave is an accomplished percussionist, most notably keeping time alongside Daly in Scatter the Mud. 2020 sees the band on the verge of releasing a new recording. Stephen Bandola - vocals, acoustic guitar [a1501827] - electric guitar, vocals [a6278521] - bass, vocals [a512036] - drums |

Search | Add | 5 | Brett James Phillips | Phoenix guitarist and luthier Brett James Phillips submitted a CD-R containing 12 instrumental songs which cover a range of music styles, including acoustic, rock, trippy acid, and more. A serious player, Phillips uses both electric and acoustic guitars and a number of effects devices and/or recording techniques to create unique and diverse textures of musical expression. He has hand built his own instruments and recorded his music in his own studio. As evidenced by the songs on his CD-R, Phillips values highly the improvisational aspect of music, taking a number of chops-happy, jammy excursions over the sequenced backing tracks. "Painted Desert", for example, has a soaring theme, followed by a long, rock'n'classical harmonized improvisation. On Phillips' timeless acoustic tracks, you'll find some beautiful pieces of music. alb Brett started playing the piano at age seven and picked up the trumpet and tuba while in high school. He first picked up the guitar at the age of nineteen, and also learned how to build and design acoustic and electric guitars at the Roberto Venn School of Luthiery. Brett started his own business in 1991, teaching private guitar and bass lessons as well as customizing and repairing stringed instruments. He also co-founded and helped operate the Cellar coffee house, largely as a music venue specializing in the development of new talent. Phillips has plans to continue to play as a solo guitarist in the Phoenix area, building a fan base as well as helping other artists record their original music. He intends to keep writing, recording and performing his original compositions while remaining independent to maintain artistic control. Phillips has a 21-song acoustic CD planned for an April 1 release in the Phoenix area. Contact Information Brett Phillips 1426 E. Utopia Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85024 United States

Search | Add | 5 | Matt LeGroulx | Multi-instrumentalist Matt LeGroulx has been releasing his home-recorded music since the late 90s, first with Fecund Farrago (anthologies of which have since been released on his label Phonautograph Records) then in the early 2000s under his known name and as Tiny Iota, who's music has never been released. In 2010 he began releasing music as Expwy which gained some notoriety in his home of Montreal and the rest of Canada with 2012's Bag Of Waters thanks to Weird Canada, Exclaim! and local Montreal-based publications. In 2014 he disbanded Expwy though continued to play with much the same people. Although his albums have been mostly done on his own, playing all of the instruments some participants include long-time collaborator Dan Nyborg, Galaxius Mons partner Ian Jarvis, drummer/guitarist/songwriter/producer Daniel Gelinas and bassist and songwriter Elliot Kerr. In 2015 he founded Phonautograph Records and began releasing music as High Five. As of January, 2024 there have been over 20 High Five releases, some under modified names such as High Five Early Music Ensemble, High Five Flute Ensemble and High Five Chamber Music Ensemble. Though these names denote changes in instrumentation or repertoire they are invariably created mainly by LeGroulx with his menagerie of instruments. High Five albums may include tenor saxophone, flute, recorder, clarinet, violin, piano, pandeiro and synthesizer in addition to the standard rock band instrumentation of guitar, bass and drums giving these homemade High Five albums an array of textures usually only possible by collaboration. In 2021 the album Bad Trouble by Body Breaks was released on vinyl by We Are Time, a microtonal collaboration between LeGroulx and vocalist/composer Julie Reich of Toronto's Bile Sister. Founded by No Wave legend Chandra Oppenheim and writer and musician Jesse Locke, We Are Time inaugurated it's existence by releasing Bad Trouble on vinyl marking the only time LeGroulx's music has appeared on that medium. All songs are sung by Reich save for the final one which is sung by LeGroulx.

Search | Add | 5 | Allama Iqbal | Muhammad Iqbal - Urdu: محمد اِقبال - Farsi: اقبال لاهوری | Sir Muhammad Iqbal (1877-1938), widely known as Allama Iqbal, was an Indian poet, philosopher and politician, who wrote in Urdu and Persian, and who is widely regarded as having inspired the Pakistan Movement. Best remembered in India for penning the patriotic song "Saare jahan se achha". In neighbouring Pakistan though, Iqbal has achieved more fame for a different reason – he is regarded as the spiritual father of Pakistan, because it was on the basis of a 1930 speech that the two-nation theory was formulated. |
