Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 5 My Sister, My Brother Garrison Starr, Sean McConnell and Peter Groenwald had no intention of forming a band when they gathered for a songwriter's camp during 2018 in Nashville. But their composition there, "Nothing Without You" led to My Sister, My Brother. "We just hit it off right off the bat and had so much fun," McConnell tells Billboard. "We wrote 'Nothing Without You' that first day, and we were all, like, 'Wow, this is something we should do again' and we made it a priority to get back together." The trio wound up writing a half-dozen songs together at four or five subsequent gatherings back in Nashville, recording mostly at Groenwald's home studio. "We all produced, but Peter did most of the heavy lifting," McConnell reports. And he says their continued collaboration was about as easy as it was for "Nothing Without You."

Her second project, Face to Face was released in 2006, and Journey Home followed in 2007. Over the years, Stephanie has been privileged to work with (and learn from) some of the best musicians in the business, including Grammy Award-winning guitarist Bill Hatcher (Henry Mancini, Luciano Pavarotti), Mike Pachelli, and Ronnie Ciago. Hatcher has been a consistent contributor on all six of Stephanie’s projects, including her latest release, Interlude. Each of Stephanie’s albums has a unique sound but all portray the same quality: genuineness. Over the years many listeners have commented that her albums are “soothing” and “an experience.” This quality can’t be faked—Stephanie has faced the darkness, having passed through suffering and hard times, and she pours the full depth of her experiences into her music, taking the listener on a journey with her through the dark times—yet always in the presence of true peace and redemption. Sing Over Me (2010), is an eclectic album, with each song having a distinct flavor, prominently featuring Latin, organic, and classical elements along with creative percussion and strings (cello, violin, upright bass). This diversity of sound centers upon a single theme—that of learning to accept life’s uncertainties and discovering peace. In 2013 Stephanie released a Christmas record, Emmanuel. Stephanie has traveled across the United States and all the way to China to share her music. Her long list of credits include festivals, retreats, universities, schools (elementary, middle, and high schools), churches, conferences, campus ministries, multiple centers for disadvantaged youth/inner city ministries, military bases, and shelters for the homeless. She has performed before 20,000 at New Zealand’s Parachute Music Festival, joining Third Day’s Mac Powell for a powerful rendition of the duet, “God of Wonders,” has made many trips to Brooklyn, New York to minister at Teen Challenge, an organization founded by David Wilkerson to help the addicted, and has opened for a variety of artists including Third Day, Tammy Trent, Newsong, and Jaci Valasquez. Her passion to encourage and bring light and joy to people has been a motivating force in continuing her musical journey for over a decade. Stephanie currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband, Erik Rostad, daughter Scotlyn Naomi, and two fur children, Java and Edward.

Search Add 5 Валера Коротин Валерий Коротин Author, Composer in Shanson Genre.

Search Add 5 The Rockit King The Rockit King. A band apart. Whatever preconceptions you have about Rock 'N' Roll music, forget them and believe instead in Truth Will Set You Free, the latest offering from this lean, mean group of Michiganders. Truth Will Set You Free, the band's third studio album, takes the listener on a journey with twists and turns varying wide from Blues to Country with plenty of straight ahead Rock. "It covers a lot of ground musically” states drummer Kenny Roberts. "We made the album in batches and in different locations in an effort to really mix things up." "We began with the intention of this album being the best thing we've ever done" explains bassist Dan Cox, "It had to be." The album took shape over multiple writing and recording sessions all taking place over several years. "We played gigs throughout the writing and much of the recording process" says frontman Jessie Beveridge, "The approach took a bit longer than expected but we think the material and the performances speak for themselves." Lyrically the album seems loosely themed around getting unstuck from a rut, a subject close to Beveridge's heart. "Hard times lead to real words, sometimes heavy, sometimes really uplifting, but always close to home." The Rockit King also appear to be keen studies of all things blues with tracks like the eponymous 'The Truth Will Set You Free'. "You don't have a Rockit King album without the blues," says Beveridge "and don't forget the shuffle. It's part of our DNA." "A lot of thought went into sounds and drum parts, especially the kick drum." said Roberts. "We saw that as the foundation of the whole thing.” adds Beveridge "Down and dirty, four on the floor Rock 'N' Roll." Thirteen years in and with the release of Truth Will Set You Free, The Rockit King seem to be finding their stride...in spades.....

Search Add 5 Jack Pennington's Variety Gang Jack Pennington was a fiddler from Alabama who settled in Memphis in the 1930s. In the early 40s took over the band of Hal Byrnes, and although they never recorded commercially, they did make quite a few transcriptions. They perform a mixture of western songs, western swing, sentimental songs and gospel, most of it sung in excellent three part harmony by Pennington, guitarist Sonny Haley, and bassist Lonnie Love. The group is rounded out by steel guitarist Johnny Sorrels. Tight harmony singing and virtuoso musicianship (mainly fiddle, guitar, steel) from this Memphis-based group, mix of country, western, folk, all from transcription discs cut for Lang-Worth in the 1940s. Also called Jack Pennington and The Garrett's Snuff Variety Gang.

Search Add 5 Morticia's Chair Cleveland-based band Morticia’s Chair evolved out of a series of musical experiments hosted by vocalist/guitarist/songwriter Mark Kae as he was casting about for a new avenue of musical expression following the breakup of the band Screwtractor. Originally conceived as a fluid vehicle for his diverse artistic tastes and talents, Morticia’s Chair eventually coalesced into its current lineup, featuring Kae, drummer Michael J. Graehling who played with bands like Whatts Gnu, and The Bad Checks, and bassist Frank Prpic, also of Center for Rock Research and formerly with bands such as Nameless Desire, the Tools and ADM, in which he also played with Mark Kae. During the four years that Screwtractor was together, recording for MCA and touring the country with their powerful, dramatic music that blended metal, gothic and industrial influences, Kae was also developing a personal musical vision. When Screwtractor broke up in 1995, Kae started to work on that vision in his practice space, adding and subtracting other musicians based on their ability to relate what he was trying to do.
