Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Vizay Peter Lamperud Vizay is a progressive producer and dj from Stockholm, Sweden. Already at an early age he found a love for melodic and uplifting trance which led to his first release already back in 2007. Since then he's gradually evolved into a more melancholic and progressive sound. Moving freely within multiple genres it's often more about the journey and emotions within the music, rather than sticking to one single genre, It's simply progressive.

Search Add 2 Sonya Lorelle Sonya Lorelle began college as a music major in her home state of Missouri, but soon realized that the classical music training that was core to the degree program did not match her interest in songwriting and blues singing. She graduated from Missouri State University with a bachelors degree in psychology (and a minor in music) and went on to complete an MS in Community Agency Counseling as well. During this time, she also recorded her first album, Independent Woman (2002). After taking some time to travel, perform, and compete in a variety of songwriting contests, she enrolled in the doctoral program at Old Dominion University, where she earned her PhD in Counselor Education. She is currently on the faculty at Northwestern University and performs her music in the Chicago area.

Search Add 2 {intake}ca {intake}ca: \ˈin-ˌtāk\ca – (band) {intake}ca was the result of six musical journeymen’s relentless pursuit to craft something more than a song. Frustrated with the jaded market of Southern California’s inundated musical landscape, Robb Sackett [vocals], Michael Head [guitar], Scott Ramsay [guitar], Joseph Estrada [drums], Jason Smolchuck [bass] and Brian “Ez” Balderas [samples] had all worked in various projects that resulted in little movement. Frontman Robb Sackett explained the inevitable collaboration, “Our current lineup consists of the best musicians we could steal. These bands had such awesome, talented people in their ranks and just sat on it.” Fusing an incendiary combination of aggressive metal and progressive electronica, {intake}ca has collectively managed to break through the glass ceiling of creative limitation. Since its inception, the all too familiar tribulations that come with balancing life and artistic expression have forced the band’s hand, leading to necessary line-up changes, writer’s block, and an eventual revitalization. Having shared the stage with the likes of Snot, Static-X, (hed)p.e., Ill Nino, Human Waste Project, Body Count, and In This Moment, to name a few, {intake}ca’s ambitious take on traditional drop tuning and guttural vocals has earned the band a healthy reputation among some of the industry’s most respected contributors. With a stage show that explodes with primal energy and reckless abandon, the six create anthems of dark celebration that explore the more lascivious corners of humanity. Complete with a solidified roster of musicians all firing on the same creative cylinders, {intake}ca has completed their independently released EP "Fatal Exception 06". “More than anything else this record needed to be a perfect translation of what we do onstage, put onto a record,” Sackett explains. A lush mixture, {intake}ca manages to transition from the eerie musical simplicity of an appropriate sample, to an all out assault of strings, percussion, and visceral throat that unapologetically, “calls it, like they see it.” Please visit www.sonicbids.com/INTAKEcaEPK for our Official electronic press kit.

Search Add 2 Moiizah Rivo Noarivelo grew up as an active force in the music scene of Antananarivo, the capital of Madagascar, an island in the Indian Ocean off the coast of East Africa. He found himself performing and recording in bands like Mboutah and Mami Basta, and touring in Africa and Europe - an apprenticeship that gave him a unique musical grounding. However, love would eventually transport Rivo to Norway, and he brought his guitar and his songs with him. There in 2012, he met Thomas Bang (Bass) and Marius Munthe-Kaas (Drums/Percussion) who were, coincidentally, the backing band for fellow Madagascan artist Rasoanaivo Hanitrarivo. In 2013, sensing exciting musical possibilities, these three then invited Marius’ old school mate, Henning Rød Haugland to join them on keyboards, and Moiizah was born. Moiizah’s three Norwegians are all schooled jazz musicians, very active figures in the vibrant music scene in the region around Stavanger, Norway, and they can pull up a wide range of musical styles - from jazz to noise rock and industrial funk, and from church music, to the cutting edge of the avant garde via Nordic folk, and Brazilian maracatou. They are jointly and severally active in bands like Machinenfestung, Kitchen Orchestra, Mirakkels Orkester - and now, of course, Moiizah! Always the bridesmaid, never the bride, Rivo had never assumed the centre stage, until now. He’s donned the mantle of the front man and songwriter for Moiizah, bringing a Madagascan heritage and Malagasy lyrics that the band collectively fuse with an unmistakably Northern hemisphere sound. Traditions meld in a soundscape where Africa meets Europe, old school meets new school and hot meets cold. Four years, a bunch of kids and a good few gigs later, they’ve recorded their first EP - Tany Mena - on the windswept Scottish island of Jura, in the studio of acclaimed world music producer Giles Perring (recording credits include Albert Kuvesin & Yat Kha, Aline Frazão, Mekons, Corn Potato String Band). Giles cooked up his own special musical glue for the project, supplying select instrumental skills too, and his studio and the near deserted Isle of Jura supplied a unique atmosphere for ancestral seafarers and modern men from the UK, Norway and Madagascar to create a new sound, where folk, pop and jazz fuse across cultures..

Linda Gísladóttir var ein af hinum svokölluðu Lummum Gunnars Þórðarsonar, og varð ein af þekktari söngkonum þjóðarinnar á tímabili, lítið hefur farið fyrir henni hin síðari ár. Linda (Samsonar) Gísladóttir (f. 1956) hóf að syngja fyrst opinberlega á menntaskólaárum sínum í MH sem þá strax var farinn að unga út tónlistarfólki þarna fyrir miðjan áttunda áratuginn. Linda söng um svipað leyti eigið lag í sjónvarpsþætti við undirleik Gunnars Þórðarsonar og fleiri, og varð það kveikjan að því að hann fékk hana í söngsveitina Lummurnar fáum árum síðar. Í millitíðinni söng Linda inn á plötur, fyrst á fyrstu plötu Gylfa Ægissonar (1975) og á barnaplötu um Róbert bangsa (sama ár) og ári síðar söng hún bakraddir á plötu Harðar Torfasonar, Dægradvöl, en slíkar raddanir áttu svolítið eftir að verða hlutskipti hennar. Um tíma söng hún reyndar aðeins með hljómsveitinni Haukum og svo sumarið 1978 með Cirkus. Hún fékk þó sitt alvöru tækifæri þegar Gunnar Þórðar smalaði saman í Lummurnar 1977 og hrærði í tvær plötur, þar mátti heyra gamlar lummur útsettar í poppgír enda fékk tiltækið misjafnar undirtektir. Almenningur keypti plöturnar og fyllti bauk Gunnars en að öðru leyti fékk Gunnar á baukinn hjá gagnrýnendum. Helgi J.

Search Add 2 Teun Creemers As a bass guitarist, composer and initiator, Teun (Netherlands, 1991) has always had a broad interest in different musical genres, which has never limited him to playing only one genre. Teun has performed nationally and internationally with a wide variety of bands in genres such as blues, jazz, funk, rock, punk, impro, Latin and various types of African music. One of his better-known bands was De Raad van Toezicht, with whom he played on most leading national stages, released two albums, received a nomination for a Zilveren Notenkraker and was a regular guest on various radio and television programmes such as De Wereld Draait Door. Teun always strives to make the most of the flexibility of the bass guitar. In doing so, he seeks the perfect balance between the various roles a musician can take on as a bass guitarist. His combination of West African styles and more familiar styles such as pop and jazz have proven to be an excellent playground for exploring these possibilities on the bass guitar; a characteristic direction his music takes in the form of his new album/band called “Naamu”. After months of composing, planning and recording, Naamu is finally ready and will be released in March 2023 by the labels Zennez Records and One World Records. For this album, Teun combined his experiences in West African music with his passion for the guitaristic approach to the bass. After having played with several respected and well-known West African musicians such as Harouna Samake (kamele n’goni) and Sekou Kouyate (kora), he felt the need to further explore West African music and all its possibilities. Without neglecting his own accumulated experience within the Dutch jazz scene, he pursued his dream of combining the best of both worlds; creating his own unique approach to Malinke-groove-jazz by recording music with both Dutch musicians and renowned West-African musicians. Other bands and projects in which Teun has been active as initiator, bass guitarist and composer are: the punk jazz band SPUNK! and his educational music programme for primary schools Life of Matheo. Teun is also a sideman in the jazz formation Meika.
