Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Last Joker | Last Joker was formed by Miguel Mega, Portuguese guitar player, in the late eighties in Santos, São Paulo, Brazil. In 1990 Last Joker recorded their first demo tape with the songs " Without You " , " Last Joker " , " Hold on Tight " and " Every Night " and started a career playing for eager crowds in the São Paulo state. Because of their musicality , stage presence and sold out concerts they got the attention of Metal Rock Records and recorded their first LP simply called " Last Joker " and toured Brazil supporting bands such as Sepultura, Angra, Dr. Sin, RDP among others. In the middle nineties the band broke up and Miguel Mega moved to LA and started a solo career and released around 10 instrumental solo cds and appeared on several compilations alongside Greg Howe (Howe II, Michael jackson, Maragold), Kiko Loureiro (Angra, Megadeth) among others . In 2014 Miguel Mega moved to the UK and regrouped Last Joker with singer Roddy B. (Avenger, Abbadon), guitarist Yves Martin, bassist Al Pringle and drummer Adam Proud and have just recorded their new cd release for Into the Limelight Records, Last Joker - Ulterior Motives and have released the video clip for the single " Kissed by the Lake". When the A&R scouts of Into The LimeLight Records listened to the new material it was clear that this was something different. Refreshing, fantastic rock songs, catchy and with a quality you may expect of these very experienced musicians. Reason to offer a contract straight away. Search | Add | 4 | Art No Art | Art No Art Started out as a writers forum for a group of jazz musicians. They would meet after hours in the old Aurora Music building in the city of Shoreline, WA. They eventually moved to a basement studio and then to a room at Kellogg Middle School, and sometimes at Shorecrest High School. After they accumulated enough material, they voted on songs and proceeded to record at Basic Tracks Studio. This was a home studio in Warren Newton's duplex. They pooled together all their then brand new digital gear (1989) and set up the studio. The tape recorder was a Tascam 40-4 1/2 inch 8 track. Two computers were used to store the midi tracks: an Atari ST1040 and an Apple Mac Plus. This was mixed it down on what was then state-of-the-art Alesis 1622 mixer onto a Toshiba DX900 VCR (Which had two digital tracks via "PCM Capability"). The band endured floods, power surges, and a street demolition crew during the session that resulted in "No Doubt About It" (1990). Search | Add | 4 | Ruth Rodeheaver | American soprano, born January 13, 1898 in Jellicoe, Tennessee; died February 7, 1979 in Winona Lake, Indiana. Ruth Rodeheaver was a younger sister of singer and gospel music publisher Homer Rodeheaver. Growing up in Jellicoe, she was best friends with another aspiring soprano, Grace Moore, and both were enamored of soprano Amelita Galli-Curci, who often sang as a featured performer in religious revival meetings. Ruth made her first recordings in the form of test records made at Victor in June 1920, but all were rejected, and her recording debut was on the first release of her broher Homer Rodeheaver's Rainbow Records label singing "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," though she was not credited. She continued to record for Rainbow and Gennett through 1925 while attending to voice lessons in New York City; Grace Moore was her roomate there. In 1926, Ruth returned to Winona Lake and married Jim Thomas, the manager of the Rodeheaver Company's manufacturing plant. For some time in the 1930s, she was estranged from her husband, moving to Florida where she taught music to elementary school children and hosted a radio show. However, the couple eventually reconciled. After Grace Moore's death in an airplane crash in 1947, Ruth Rodeheaver resumed recording under her married name of Ruth Rodeheaver Thomas with her brother's revitalized Rainbow label. Her last commerical recordings were made for International Sacred in 1955, though still later ones exist on tape at the Winona History Center in Winona Lake, Indiana.

Peter "Pete" Nathen Smolen, age 76, died Aug. 2, 2023, after a 13-year stay of cancer that he never let define him. Pete was born in 1947 in New York City and spent his youth in White Plains, N.Y., and then in Ahoskie, N.C. He graduated from Duke University in 1969 with a degree in history, after an about-turn from pre-med, and then promptly didn't use either degree in his start at Record Bar, a music store chain based in Durham where he soon became a buyer. Looking for a city to start his own music store business, Pete moved his family to Columbia, S.C., where he resided for the remainder of his years. His first Sounds Familiar location opened in 1976 in Landmark Square in Columbia, SC. Over the years, Sounds Familiar grew to three locations in Columbia SC with stores in Myrtle Beach SC, Charlotte NC and Asheville NC at times. He was also part-owner of Paradise Records in Fayetteville, N.C., Greenstreets music club in Columbia and Carolina beach music label Ripete Records, which he ran with partner-in-crime and good friend Marion (Rion) Carter. He loved a nightly Dewar's on the rocks, Duke basketball, floating on the Black River with friends, old movies (even if the movie didn't age well) and music, especially rock 'n' roll and R&B – John Prine, Otis Redding, The Who. But he also loved the Bee Gees, Master P and Lil' Kim for all the money they made for Sounds Familiar. Although beach music was very good to him, he never did learn how to dance the shag. Search | Add | 4 | Oenix | French New Wave/Punk band from Rouen, Normandie, formed in 1979 & split in 1980. From Website : Black Bonnie Since its beginnings in the 80s, this punk group from Rouen has carved out a solid reputation. With the release of his first 45 rpm, Oenix will leave an anecdotal but lasting mark in the history of French rock. Annie Chancel, better known as Sheila , was at the time the victim of rumors that she was in reality a transsexual. Cover and lyrics of the single They want to sleep with Sheila play to the fullest on this ambiguity and trigger a huge outcry. The singer's record company fumes and threatens. The scandal surely allowed the group to sign with Virgin and release the record with a reworked cover and the same title punctuated with beeps*. Now at Oenix, They want to sleep with* ... “ Wouap dou woap chibidoua... They want to sleep with... beep ... but too bad she has big arms. They want to sleep with... beep ... but too bad it's a guy. They want to sleep with... beep ... but no, no, but you've seen the thighs she has! There's no denying it, but what a big pile. Yes, but they like it. Woop dou woap chibidoua… “

Search | Add | 4 | Ready D | Deon T Daniels | Ready D - real name Deon - was born in District Six, Cape Town. Growing up on the desolate Cape Flats, Deon, was constantly surrounded by gangs, poverty and a lack of identity - a legacy of the forced removals from District Six. During his teens, however, Deon found refuge with the beginnings of the Hip Hop culture, and started breakdancing. At the age of 15 he joined a crew - Ballastic Rockers - which featured Ramone, Jazmo and Gogga who would later also combine to form POC. A turning point in Deon's career was a trip to Liverpool, England, sponsored by a friend. Here Deon, came into contact with some of the top DJ's plying their trade at the time. On returning to Cape Town, Deon acquired his first pair of Lenco turntables ... it was the birth of Ready D the DJ. ...In 1990 Ready D entered the South African National DJ Championship ... he has won it three times since, and remains the most skilled and versatile Hip Hop DJ in South Africa. Also known as The Black Battle Cat and DJ X-Plode. |

Search | Add | 4 | Сини Степів | Montreal's Syny Stepiv (Sons of the Steppes) are remembered today as pioneers of Ukrainian zabava music. Though Rushnychok broke onto the scene first, Syny Stepiv were a close second behind them, and many people considered the "Syny" a much more musically accomplished ensemble - in fact, possibly more accomplished than most all other zabava bands at the time! After their first few shows, it didn't take long for Syny Stepiv to gain acclaim as their audiences began admiring their musical talents and abilities, and also falling in love with their multi-harmony vocal style. The members of the group had each developed and honed these talents while previously playing and singing with various other ensembles - in many different genres of music: folk, rock, jazz and traditional ethnic. They each brought these talents and backgrounds to Syny Stepiv and, as a group, blended them to create a fresh and inspiring sound. As accomplished musicians, each member of Syny Stepiv was competent at a number of different musical instruments. In fact, the guys would regularly join other zabava and concert bands on stage as special guests or fill-in musicians. At the height of their popularity, Syny Stepiv would play an exhausting number of shows each year. In 1976 alone, they played functions in New York, Newark, Yonkers, Passaic, Parma, Rochester, Detroit, Philadelphia, Cleveland, Chicago, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton, and Saskatoon! During their time together, Syny Stepiv released three albums that stand today as classics in the collective Ukrainian-Canadian music oeuvre. So esteemed were the band, that Ukrainian lyricists and songwriters would often submit musical works to the quartet with the chance hope that their songs could end up in Syny Stepiv's live or recorded repertoire! The members of Syny Stepiv: Adrian Alboshchy - Rhythm Guitar (v.II, & v.III) Taras Didus - Accordion Jaroslaw Gudzio - Rhythm & Lead Guitar (v.I, & v.III) Tino Papa - Drums Jaroslaw Workewych - Lead Guitar (v.I, & v.II) (Adrian Alboshchy & Tino Papa would later go on to play in Chornomortsi and Vechirnyy Dzvin.)
