Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 16/12/2025

Found 617983 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Duffy Taylor Blues Formaly known as Mark Faine And The Fontains, they changed their name as The Children when joined by Rob Duffy. They signed to Page One Records in 1967. Larry Page (Page One Records) insisted on a name change and liked ‘The Lovin’. As The Lovin' they made their record debut with "Keep on Believin'". One other record followed before they changed their name again, this time in The Nerve. They released 3 records as The Nerve with "Piece By Piece"as their best known. The songs were produced by Reg Presley from The Troggs, seeing them in action in a hotel where the Troggs stayed. He became their manager in 1968. Finally they had their last single "You Wrecked My Life" as Duffy Taylor Blues, before returning home as virtual unknowns. Members: Ian Day - Bass, Robert Hirst - Vocals, Steve Taylor - Lead Guitar, Barry Satchelle - Drums, Rob Duffy - Rhythm Guitar.

Search Add 2 ScarLenn Lenny Benaïcha ScarLenn was born in 1986 in a corner of the province of Antwerp. At a young age he moved into the metropolis, which until today he calls home. As a twelve year old boy he was tempted for the first time by the rap rhythms but it took another four years before he truly realized Hip-Hop was about to become more than just his favourite music genre. In 2002 he found his way to the microphone, choosing an artist name for himself consisting of the English word for: 'scar' and his first name. The scar is situated on his right eye and defined a big part of the young man's life. The foster child, who found his real home with his foster parents, received a part Algerian blood and surname from his biological mother, from which he distances himself completely. Because of the name, the looks and everything else scarlenn stands for he was forced to get to know the less pretty sides of our society at a young age. The critical insight he developed as a result of that in combination with a unique vocal usage are typical for his style.

Inspiration: Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Jean-Michel Jarre. Attended "School Of Audio Engineering" in London What Is Cream Idol? Cream Idol is a crew of artists tired with the lack of creativity in general, everything you see: hit songs, TV shows and movies seem to be a remakes of something you have already seen. We got tired of hearing the same thing over and over again and decided to try and bring some creativity back into the game. Cream Idol is interested in all types of music and it shows in the different styles heard in each individual track.

Search Add 2 Santo Cavernicola Santo Cavernicola Mexican garage rock band created by Daniel Tremblay in 1997 in the city of Puebla. Mauricio Estrada on drums, Pepe Ledezma (R.I.P.) on bass, Jorge Cabrera on saxophone, Marco Castillo on keyboards and voice and Daniel Tremblay on guitar, flute and voice. Primarily a cover band performing Van Der Graaf Generator songs, among other prog songs like Focus, Pink Floyd and their spanish version of Zappa's "Take Your Clothes Off When You Dance". This band never made it out of their local city. Many were students of anthropology (Pepe, Mauricio and Marco) at the local state university. Jorge a very talented painter and Daniel, originally from Chicoutimi, Québec, which was the band's founder, front-man and first composer, worked for the family business as a pottery seller. First gigs were performed at local bars and gradually, songs were being composed and recordings were arranged at a local recording studio. These recordings were assembled to make the first album "Santo Cavernicola" between 1998 and 1999 for maybe 50 copies. The band dismembered when those who were students graduated and left to pursue other projects more aligned with their own careers. Another album was made with recordings between 2017 and 2021 to make the second album "2". Those were, in their majority, old ideas that were to be made in a hypothetical second album if the band had stayed together. Containing hit song "Nopalito", co-written by Tremblay-Estrada.

Search Add 2 Don Crisp Don Crisp was born in Chicago and grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. He started taking piano lessons at the age of six from an aunt who wanted him to play in church. When Don was eight his father, Maurice, bought him an alto saxophone, and by the time he was 15 was proficient with the upright bass, clarinet, electric bass and drums. All this musical activity in high school led to a music scholarship at the University of Memphis. After leaving college in 1989 he relocated to California, and it was there, in the San Francisco Bay Area, that he began using his musical skills to make his own music. Subsequently he became a keyboardist for prolific Jamaican reggae artists such as Pablo Moses, The Mighty Diamonds, Frankie Paul, The Itals, and Foundation. He also accompanied them on extensive tours of the U.S, Canada, and Europe. It was in the Bay Area that he first experienced house music and other forms of electronic dance music. He was greatly influenced by what he heard and by the mid ‘90s had started his own label, Crisp Records, initially releasing material with fellow San Francisco musician and dj, Chris Lum. He put out three EPS on the imprint before moving on to other projects. The label had been quiet since the late ‘90s, but in the summer of 2011 Don revived it, renaming it Crisp Recordings, and began a collaboration with legendary Bay Area producer, Guy Nado AKA DJ Rasoul.

Search Add 2 Aaron Dizzy Ohio-based new wave band active from 1976-1986, 2001-2005 and 2007. Brainchild of [a=Robert Runyeon], vocalist, guitarist, and chief songwriter, who started the band in 1976 with drummer [a=Randall Owens] out of a homemade studio in West Carrollton. In August 1977, all their equipment, including six guitars and six and a half years of mastered tapes, were stolen. It took almost two years to recoup their losses from the theft. The band eventually returned to recording in a friend's studio soon after the theft, where during this session they met [a=Jeffrey Tutt], who then became their keyboardist, and later, a vocalist as well. In 1979, three of their tracks (given the collective name "Looking For A Planet") were submitted, unbeknownst to the band, by the engineer from the recording session to WEBN-FM for their fourth [l=WEBN Album Project] compilation, and subsequently pressed ([r=3022666]). The back cover dubs the composition as "one of the most creative and compelling ever entered in Album Project competition". In March 1979 they appeared as part of a public television special on local talent, sponsored by WEBN-FM. It was this year that guitarist [a=Mike Dowden (2)] (now deceased) joined the group. On March 12, 1980, they would appear on music show "Rock Around The Block", performing an hour long set. In September 1980, Dennis Rich, a longtime friend of Runyeon's, acted as manager for the band as well as a part-time lyricist. In 1981/1982, Runyeon and Tutt recorded a five-track demo cassette to be sent to A&M Records ([r=15235088]), in one of many attempts to secure a contract. Unfortunately this was not successful. In May 1982, Owens left the band to become a drummer for Zummo, as did Mike Dowden to become guitarist of [a=Bramble (2)]. The last mention of the band (which was by this time either just a solo outlet for Runyeon or a duo with Tutt) was a show at the 1-Stop in Dayton on February 22, 1986. A website, aarondizzy.com, was first started in July 2001, announcing many upcoming projects, including live performances slated for autumn 2001 (which were postponed) as well as new music being released. This website would stay up until mid-2004. In February 2002, Runyeon (under the name Aaron Dizzy), began performing with an ensemble, the Aaron Dizzy All-Starz. The All-Starz consisted of Jeffrey Tutt, Heather Tutt-Robinson, Ann Dodson, Al Hidalgo, Tim McIntosh, Chad Robinson, Ira Stanley, Sal Salaz, Kerrie Van Wagnor, Larry Vest, and Anya. The band's first full album, titled "Cozmic Consequence" was released in early March 2002, under the name "a . k . a . aaron". This iteration of the band continued to perform sporadically until 2005. They performed once again in April 2007 at the open house of the Playhouse Entertainment Complex, which Runyeon owns.
