Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

He has released 3 full length albums: Bedtime Street Album (2012), Sleepwalking (2013) & ESP (2016). Jahan's latest project ESP – mastered by the Grammy-Nominated Engineer, Daddy Kev – features the legendary, Smif-N-Wessun, as well as Tone Trump and Ceschi. Jahan's previous album Sleepwalking features Hakim Green (of Channel Live) and the entire album was produced by Poppa Pill, known for producing on Rakim's 2009 album, The Seventh Seal. --- In his early childhood, Jahan lived in Mount Vernon, NY – hometown to Pete Rock, Heavy D and Sean “Diddy” Combs. Jahan’s musically talented neighbors inspired him to pursue a career in music and he began rhyming at 9 years old. After moving to the inner-city of Stamford, CT, Jahan continued to develop his lyrical talent and at age 13, he was signed to the label, BMX Entertainment in Brooklyn. In high school, Jahan showcased his talent on the independent music scene, recording freestyles on mixtapes. He and his partner Kyro also recorded tracks with Producer Raydar Ellis (who went on to work under Dr. Dre at Aftermath). After high school, Jahan moved to North Carolina to study Journalism at UNC. During college, Jahan worked at Duke University Radio with 9th Wonder who introduced him to Big Pooh and Phonte. During these years – the early stages of Little Brother – Jahan even had to face-off in a battle with Phonte at the famed Cat’s Cradle. After returning to CT, Jahan recorded and released the Bedtime Street Album (2012) and Sleepwalking (2013) – produced by Poppa Pill [known for producing on Rakim's album, The Seventh Seal (2009)]. He spent 2014 touring with the Vans Warped Tour and the Full Blast Summer Tour. In 2016, Jahan released his latest album, ESP - mastered by the Grammy-Nominated Engineer, Daddy Kev - with features from the legendary, Smif-N-Wessun, Tone Trump and Ceschi. Since the release of ESP, Jahan Nostra has been traveling and performing at shows and festivals throughout the US and Canada; Jahan has opened for Smif-N-Wessun, J. Cole, Hakim Green (Channel Live), Das EFX, Ras Kass, Cappadonna (Wu-Tang), Royal Flush, Mr. Cheeks (Lost Boyz), Blahzay Blahzay, Al Skratch and he performed with RZA (Wu-Tang), freestyling live to RZA's piano accompaniment. Jahan Nostra has won numerous awards for his work, including the Best Music Video Award at the 2019 Hip Hop Film Festival (Harlem: New York, NY), Best Music Video at the 2019 Golden Door International Film Festival (Jersey City, NJ), and Best Music Video at the 2019 New York International Films Infest Festival (New York, NY). Jahan Nostra has been interviewed by Doctor Dre (Yo! MTV Raps), A-King (Combat Jack Show) and featured in several media outlets, including: Hot 97, Hip Hop DX, Underground Hip Hop Blog, Huff Post, The Ryan Show and Philly FAME TV. With respect to his creative influences, Jahan credits Tupac Shakur as an inspiration for “his ability to paint pictures with great emotion and put poetry in motion while still being true to himself.” Taking his craft seriously, Jahan has an artist statement that he lives by: “To uplift for the future, reflect reality and prove that I’m the illest.” |

Search | Add | 2 | Ragged Soul | Ragged Soul got together around the year 2000 in Vigo. The band started basically as an excuse to gather at weekends, play hard and drink even harder, which they accomplished real soon! At first they used to play covers of Punk & Rock’n’Roll bands they loved, from Devil Dogs to early AC/DC, but more and more their goal was to get in their own songs. Ragged Soul always revolved around Jose (guitar, vocals & songs) and Miguel (bass, backing vocals & low-life). In the couple of years or so they lasted there were at least three drummers and two or three guitar players, some of whom were gone before you could say “tough shit”! The story of the band ain’t one of easy success, happy-go-lucky girls and pink champagne, just about the opposite actually: they’d only been going for a few weeks when Miguel -pissed out of his head on a Saturday night- suffered a double fracture in a leg. As a consequence, he literally vanished without trace for some 6 months… An auspicious start, some may say. Once they got started again, they were ready to play wherever they possibly could, mostly real shitholes in exchange for booze and -only sometimes- a little bit of money and a sandwich. They couldn’t care less, as they were having the time of their lives, even though most of the audience in little villages and so couldn’t really make out what the band was all about. One example was a gig in a shack turned into a pub in the middle of nowhere, at which the attending crowd was mostly metal-heads. Seeing that the band was getting no reaction whatsoever and people just stood there motionless, Jose responded to that by cursing and flinging abuse at them. What could have been an impending disaster turned into a big party with the boys playing for over two hours and a growing number of free drinks gathering on the stage! In fact that gig got them another one in a big rock festival in the area. Another amusing moment involved a band member being chased into the toilet by a rather amicable girl after a gig, while her boyfriend was cheerfully talking to the others at the bar. Not long after that, there was an incident following another concert, which involved one in the band having a fight at a local disco and then driving his car through the front door of a village house on the way back home… Wild times indeed! It was at the end of 2002 when they entered the studio to record their one and only demo, the recordings you’re now holding in glorious vinyl nearly 15 years later: four songs about breaking up, breaking down and breaking through, if you know what I mean… Even though the resulting demo-CD was very poorly distributed, it did get them a few more gigs, the most memorable being the one the late Kike Turmix -of the infamous Pleasure Fuckers fame- got them opening for the great Wayne Kramer (guitar slinger with the legendary MC5). They struggled on for a while, changing drummers just one more time and even the band-name for one off-gig in their hometown, but that was it really. In the end, Ragged Soul would mutate into The Fishfuckers, who eventually moved on to greener pastures, but that’s another story, a story that must be told somewhere else… JOSE (FEBRUARY 2016)

Search | Add | 2 | KSRSZ | KSRSZ (reads as Keyser Söze) was formed by four random people who didn't know what to do with their lives. We still have to figure that out, but at least we get to play in a band which is cool. What we like to do is just play together, chill for a bit and then play some more. What usually results is a sound that wants to hug you only to punch you in the back of the neck afterwards.

Search | Add | 2 | Discoveri | A new sound has emerged from within the electronic dance music industry. Discoveri, hailing from the United States, consists of two musical geniuses that joined forces in early 2004. Together, they started by crafting many different types of electronic music from down tempo to slamming break beats and house, finally settling on a fusion of sounds with a house backbone. It is hard to pinpoint their signature sound since they pull from so many different styles and influences. Their music is something that needs to be heard live to be appreciated.

Active from 1999 to 2009, Bracode were arguably Australia's most fierce all grrrl bands. They issued three releases with 'The Sound of Bracode', a 4-track demo, being their first. Their debut full-length LP '[r=11097313]' was infamously posted to the music industry as 1.5kg of frock wrapped in a 'vegan meat tray', with their final album '[r=11924293]' released in 2006. They shared stages with international artists: [a=Sleater Kinney], [a=The Dresden Dolls], [a=Partyline] (US) feat. seminal riot grrrl pioneer Allison Wolf, and [a=Belters] (Japan), plus riot grrrl band [a=The Haggard] (US). Tipping their fascinators Zec is now in seminal Melbourne post punk favs [a=Plaster of Paris] and a new wave synth band [a=Double Vanity]. Bec Mayhew and Jacqui Besgrove are with legendary rock band [a=Babymachine] ft. Kristy on bass and Trina on drums. Erica is a former drummer for [a=Chicks On Speed] (Germany).

Search | Add | 2 | John Filcich | Ivan Petar "John" Filcich (Filčić) | Mr. Kolo or Kolo John - Ivan Petar "John" Filcich (Filčić) was born in Fiume, Italy, in 1924. The village is today called Rijeka in Croatia. When John was born, the village was called Fiume, the post World War I "free city-state" which was later annexed by Italy. For his father it was in Hungary, for his grandfather it was in Austria, and even earlier the area was part of Napoleon's Illyrian Provinces. He immigrated to the United States when he was eight years old. His family settled in Gary, Indiana, the steel mill city with Croatian, Serbian, Polish, and other Slavic cultures and has had many years of experience with thier music. He later moved to Arizona. In 1935, when his father gave him an old phonograph and a stack of Bulgarian, Croatian, Macedonian, and Serbian Records, his interest in international music was fostered. In 1946, the family moved again to California where John saw foreign dancers in their native costumes. By 1947, John was folk dancing every week in Oakland, California. With singleminded dedication, John devoted himself to the study of the origin, history, dance, music, and language of his people. Then, in 1948, the International Institute of Oakland asked him to form a Yugoslavian dance group to perform at the Festival of Nations. He did even more, he formed two groups – Croatian and Serbian – and he was also dancing six nights a week! Seeing a great need, he opened his first record shop in 1949 in the San Francisco Bay Area, specializing in Balkan and international music and folk dance records (he later opened another record shop in Los Angeles). That same year, he attended the College of the Pacific Folk Dance Camp in Stockton, California, which was later renamed the Stockton Folk Dance Camp. This led to his teaching of Yugoslavian "kolo" (circle) dances at the camp and his subsequent founding of the San Francisco Kolo Festival. According to his niece, Sharen Skorup, "And my mother's brother, my Uncle John, was in the music business and was into dancing. As a kid I worked in his record store in Oakland. Uncle John started the whole Kolo movement here in the Bay Area back in 1940. He had a performing dance company of mostly Croatians. That was before I was born. In 1952, he started the Kolo Festival as a benefit for a friend and well-known folk dancer named Vyts Beliajus." The festival's name was later changed to the California Kolo Festival." John was a credited advisor on the feature documentary film "American Gypsy: A Stranger In Everybody's Land," written, produced, and directed by Jasmine Dellal. He speaks five languages. To his many folk dance friends, he is known as "Kolo John," a moniker that Millie von Konsky solidified in print in "Let's Dance" magazine in November, 1957. John, with his Festival Records label, was a principal supplier of folk dance recordings to North America and the world. His record shops, Slav-Art Music Center in Oakland, Festival Records in Los Angeles, and Festival Folk Shop in San Francisco, were must stops for folk danceers, square dancers, ethnic musicologists, and Gypsies from all over the world. Because of his life-long interest in the Rom (Gypsy) culture, he is often invited to their weddings, religious celebrations, and other community activities and was the North American supplier for Gypsy music, candles, and other items for many years. John has now closed his shops. A big party with live music honoring John was thrown in Los Angeles on November 11, 2000, with dancers and teachers, including Dick Oakes, flying in from around the country. Dick Crum, John's long time friend, did the officiating. Naturally, John led everyone in his favorite dance, Veliko Kolo. He hasn't given up selling records, though – you can still purchase some of your favorites from John by writing to info@festival-records.net. Also, John has constructed a website, www.festival-records.net. On March 20 and 21, 2004, 'From the Heart: A Musical Tribute to "Kolo" John Filcich' took place at the Harold M. Williams Auditorium, J. Paul Getty Center, Los Angeles, California. Some of L.A.'s finest Eastern European folk musicians paid homage to "Kolo" John Filcich. Performers included the Yeseta Brothers Tamburica Orchestra, Tzvetanka and Ivan Varimezova, and the Gypsy Roma Band. In 2005, John received the National Folk Organization's "Preserving Our Legacy Award." |

This imaginary ensemble was born out of necessity to break through personal boundaries and to create new sonic experiences. This project under the direction of ypl (principal composer of Héliodrome) proposes an intimate journey without stopovers of any one particular genre; a migrating testimony of a word without territory.
