Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

The guys often put 90s trends and elements of different electro-music genres to the modern sound, alongside with impudent vocal and provocative texts on domestic problems. |

Sounding Bodies began as a site-specific live performance project at an abandoned locomotive repair warehouse in Hamelink's hometown Tilburg. Inspired by the unique acoustic properties of the enormous space, Jacqueline invited pianist [a=Stevko Busch] and electric guitarist [a=Aart Strootman] for a one-off improvisational session. It was named Derelict after the depot's poor conditions; the building was scheduled for renovation as a cultural center. Subsequently, Sounding Bodies evolved in Jacqueline Hamelink's "solo" collaborative project, and she has organized several more projects with other musicians since then.

Search | Add | 3 | Sonz Of Sunz | Having a unique talent to spit poetry through the microphone to express their experiences, thoughts and take on life, the Filipino-Canadian group SONZ OF SUNZ pride themselves as being part of the growing Hip-Hop culture. The diverse duo, composed of M.I.C. ILL. and Chief Chucka's, aims to bring forth a new surge of music with positive messages while keeping Hip Hop as it was in the golden era…fun. Sonz of Sunz proves to be the epitome of the continuing growth of Hip Hop, demonstrating that the culture has stretched to all corners of the world. They provide a balance of positive urban Canadian upbringing as well as a respectful reflection of their cultural backgrounds. Constantly in the studio developing and producing music, the Mic Reach Records artists have also made their presence known by performing at various local Van City venues including opening for acts such as legendary Canadian rap pioneer Maestro Fresh Wes and Wu-Tang member Raekwon. Formerly a group of three, Sonz of Sunz formed when Filipino rappers, M.I.C. ILL and Chief Chucka, teamed up with Japanese MC, Mr. Rice, after meeting and working together at a Vancouver restaurant during the late 90's. After years of working together as a trio and shortly after releasing their debut album, “The New Breed” in June 2004, Mr. Rice made the hard decision to leave the group and pursue other interest. After careful introspection at the loss of their partner in rhyme, M.I.C. ILL and Chief Chucka made the decision to carry on with the group name and continue spreading their message through music.

From 1990 to 1996 he drummed with the rock/blues band Dirty Hands, issuing three records with them ("Dirty Hands" - 1992 S.D.R.Rec.; "XXX Hot Chilli" - 1993 Boots Rec.; "Four Cool Cats" - 1995 Boots Rec.) and playing on the European blues circuit and the southern and western American ones (New Orleans, Austin, San Antonio, Tuscon, Flagstaff, Los Angeles etc...). During the 2002 he becomes Big Mojo to produce its own music and create a fusion between electronica and roots like blues and funk. Like Big Mojo he has produced two albums and countless singles From 2008 to today he is drummer and producer for Wu Ming Contingent, the band of the Wu Ming collective |

Search | Add | 3 | Saltwater Vampires | Saltwater Vampires is a three piece punk band from Charleston, IL. The trio met in high school where they quickly formed friendships sparked by their mutual love of obscure music and by their distrust of mainstream everything. The first two years consisted mostly of heavy drinking and sporadic writing which eventually led to creating and refining a style and sound that which consisted of a own-a sound the band affectionately describes as…"hook, heart, and balls". Over time, they perfected the anger/confusion-based love song which had became their specialty. After a few years of ignoring the music scene and avoiding public performances, they released a disc of ten songs chosen from their repertoire of over seventy originals, and entered the underground music scene. saltwatervampires@hotmail.com

Search | Add | 3 | Grupo Folklórico Alto Aragón | GRUPO FOLKLÓRICO ALTO ARAGÓN | About us GRUPO FOLKLÓRICO "ALTO ARAGÓN" de JACA Address: Apto Correos 23. JACA (Huesca) 22700. SPAIN Tel/Fax: +34 974363838. Internet: www.grupoaltoaragon.es E-mail: jaca@grupoaltoaragon.es The Group "Alto Aragón" of Jaca has been the first group in investigating and broadcasting the best of Aragon's folklore, and particularly the songs and dances of our zone in the Pyrenees. We’re working in order to improve our performances, while keeping the tradition alive since 1975. 1.- WHO ARE WE? 2.-SPECTACLES 3.- DISCOGRAPHY 4.- OTHER ACTIVITIES 5.- REPERTORY 1.- WHO ARE WE? Our history starts in Jaca. In this city, in the center of the Pyrenees, in 1975 a group of people that had spent several years investigating and working with the authentic folklore, met together and formed the Grupo Folklórico "Alto Aragón". Actually, the group has over 64 members, and with our pupils, we are nearly 200 people. In our performances we combine the folklore of the 3 counties of Aragón but we also offer a sample of the dances of the mountains of our zone. These dances are not well known but very typical and different of the rest of Aragón. Each valley has its own characteristics and identity. The variety of the costumes, dances and also the instruments played is evident. Our folklore is extremely variated and interesting. Our repertory includes the popular "jota" that is played with castanets. This dance is very brave and energic. But we dance very different types of jotas. This is essential in our shows and differentiates us respect to other groups that only dance one type of "jota". There are also different types of castanets and costumes depending on each "jota". Other types of dances and songs that we consider are: "palotiaus", "danzas", "boleros", "valses", "albadas", "mazurcas", "sobremesas", etc. The "palotiau" is danced with a pair of sticks made of wood, and is very spectacular and vigorous. Same "palotiaus" are danced with castanets and also with "espedos". The "espedo" is a large iron-made stick, very similar to a sword and it was used in our towns to roast the meat. There are other components in the spectacle: ribbons, shawls, typical jackets, etc. The costumes are different also in each dance. The instruments played are: guitars, accordions, mandolins, lutes, bass, "chiflo" (very similar to a flute with three holes), and "salterio" (a box made of wood with hand-made chords), and percussion: tambourines, bottles, drums, goat-skin bass drum, etc. 2.-SPECTACLES We have made a lot of performances in our region, and so in the rest of Spain. We have also travelled abroad to take away our dances and music: The continents where the group has stayed are Europe, America, Africa and Asia. ARAGON Numerous spectacles in the three counties of Aragon. We consider the most important ones: The Main Theater of Zaragoza. "La Romareda" Stade (Journeys of aragonese folklore). Pilar's Square (several performances in S.Jorge and Pilar's Days). Saint Lorenzo and Saint Jorge Festivities in Huesca. D.G.A's countryside in all Aragón. Many shows organized by the DPH (Central Government of our county), EXPOZARAGOZA 2008. Since our foundation, we have participated in all editions of the Festival International of the Pyrenees (Oloron and Jaca). More than 100 towns and villages visited in our zone, some ones, in several times. During each year, we are requested by the authorities of our towns to participate in many festivities and diverse activities often. They are named: "En recuerdo a unos valles" , "Pueblos y gentes", “Calandrias” y “Nueces y turrones, manzanas y peras”. Click here to listen some of our songs >> 4.- OTHER ACTIVITIES INVESTIGATION During all of these years, our "investigation group" have made possible for us to recover songs, dances, paloteaos, jotas, romances, etc. The most important ones are The Dance de Sta Orosia de Jaca, (more than 60 years forgotten and recovered in 1979 by us) and The Paloteao de Sinués (more than 50 years off). We have a group of "danzantes" that depend on us, and dance this religious pieces each year in the processions of the Jaca's Festivities. FOLKLORE'S STUDIES AND COURSES We have participated in the famous Popular Music Latin-American Conference, celebrated in Madrid. We also have took part in the IV Popular Arts and Customs National Congress celebrated in Zaragoza. So, we have participated in several Folklore and Ethnology Activities, organized by the University of Zaragoza , in the Journeys about Folklore (V) that where included in the "Conoce Aragón" Cycle of Conferences, and in the XV Folklore Gallego Congress. Anyway, There are many activities that we have made not so important and not included here. RECORDINGS We have also made recordings for the Festivals of Zaragoza, Olorón, Confolens and Jaca. Many Radio Channels have asked us for some recordings. The most famous are: RNE, Radio Zaragoza, Radio Zamora, Radio Huesca, Radio Jaca. Out of Spain, we have recorded songs for different channels in France and UK. In November of 1983, Radio Popular de Zaragoza (COPE) emitted a special program dedicated to our VIII anniversary. It took more than 1 hour. Speaking about the TV, different TV channels in France, UK, Porto Rico, USA, Canada, Taiwan R.O.C., Japan, México, Portugal and Maroc, and so TVE and Aragón Televisión, have emitted our dances. FOLKLORE SCHOOL In our school, we work with the youths and adults of our city and zone. These boys will be the new components of the group, selecting the best ones. At this moment, we have more than 100 pupils. OTHERS Aragonese Folklore Festival "Virgen de la Cueva": We organize, each year since 1979, a Folklore Festival with our pupils. Traditional Aragonese Games: In the Resurrection Sunday, there was a tradition: The Billas Game, and it was played in many streets of Jaca. Each year, we organize a competition, in order to show this forgotten game. Divulgation Activities: Speeches, Slides, Media articles, etc... For any doubt or question, just contact us by Fax or E-Mail. 5.- REPERTORY DANCES We have a diversity of dances that allow us to offer an unique spectacle. In Aragon, there are many types of jotas depending on the zone or area. We dance "fast jotas", very spectacular and characteristic of the South of Aragon, and "slower jotas", very typical in our mountains where the costumes are heavier and more difficult to wear. The choreography is very different in each dance. Another type of dances are the paloteaos, played with castanets, sticks, and espedos. Each paloteao involves different costumes and also different accessories, (roses in the player's hands, ribbons, etc.) But that's not enough, because we have in our spectacle, another type of dances, called "danzas" and played only with accordion and percussion. The typical hats are different from the dances explained above, and also the clothes and the way of wearing them, the "shoes" that are made from animal skin, etc. Finally, we have mainly another kind of dance that is called the "Bolero". There are many boleros with their proper characteristics and costumes depending on the area of Aragon. There are also, "Stile Jotas", that are not danced and only singed by our singers. This is very typical in Aragon, and there are a lot of competitions of singers. There are a lot of ways of singing: only one man, a woman, a couple, a group, religious songs, party songs, etc. COSTUMES We don't make copies, because we try to get the same textures used by our ancestors. Our elders have showed us everything about the design, the making and the maintenance of their dresses. Another important thing is the hairstyle of the girls and the way of wearing our typical hats and hairshawls in certain dances. We keep a great variety of costumes. The people of the Pyrenees lived isolated in winter and each valley kept their proper costumes. These costumes are very heavy but majestic and are composed of multiple clothes, worn superposed. The costumes are different depending on the day's moment and the purpose (party, religious, work, etc.). There are a lot of variety of colors. This, makes a better spectacle for the people. Each costume is more than 1000 $ worth, and our full collection is valued in more than 70.000 $US. |

Search | Add | 3 | Marty Levitt | Marty Levitt (1930-2008) was born in Brooklyn, New York. His father was a well-respected musician in the Yiddish Theatre and Jewish Music scene. His mother had come to the United States from Poland a few years before. Marty started booking his own gigs at age seventeen. This included weddings, bar mitzvahs, and many dinners for Jewish organizations or "landshaftn." He worked with such notables as Abe Schwartz, Nathan Ritholz, and many others. He also began working the Catskills every summer starting in 1947. Marty remained a busy bandleader in Brooklyn, as well as in Jewish nightclubs on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. In 1956 a young singer named Harriet Kane auditioned for Marty's band. They married the next year. Together they made a record for the Tikva label in 1959 called "Party Memories." Marty followed with an instrumental album called "Wedding Dances" in 1962, also for Tikva. During the late 1950s Marty saw the demand for Jewish music diminish. He incorporated more continental music into his repertoire. such as Polish tangos, Hungarian dances, Israeli folk songs, etc. Harriet learned to sing all this material in each specified language. This enabled them to become very popular with the Jews who had made it through the war. They were so busy that they stopped going to work each summer in the Catskills after the 1964 season. Marty still managed to sneak in a hora or a bulgar on every engagement. There were a few more recordings made in the 1960s, e.g. "Bar Mitzvah Favorites" in 1965, and "Marty Levitt goes Continental " in 1968. The Levitts continued to be busy into the 1970s and then recorded a couple of more albums. While working with Fran records Marty did "50 Chassidic Hits" in 1973 with a ten-piece band. This was followed by "A Jewish Wedding," which was an album narrated by radio star Art Raymond and arranged by Nat Brooks. The family moved to Florida in 1977. This was where Marty "reunited" with many of his clientele who had moved south. One of the things Marty did while in Florida was start a radio show. "Freilach Time" was an hour-long show which aired on Sunday mornings in Miami on radio station WDNA. Levitt used his extensive Jewish record collection to play on the air. Some featured acts were: The Feder Sisters, Jan Peerce, Dave Tarras and others. The show was produced solely on listener contributions and ran for two periods of time in 1980-81 as well as in 1982. This was also the beginning of the klezmer revival. Marty started arranging an album of klezmer music that he would record after moving back to Brooklyn in 1983. There were also some vocals by Harriet as well. These recordings were titled "King of the Klezmer," Volumes 1 and 2. In 1985 Harriet Kane passed away after a short battle with cancer. Marty slowed down his work a lot, as he knew she was irreplaceable. He did go on to record "Klezmer Wedding " in 1991, which featured his son Dave on trombone. Marty became a popular interview for ethnomusicologists studying klezmer music. He was quoted in many publications and provided old pictures to be used in some works as well. In later years he started to write many of these klezmer melodies to be preserved for future generations.
