Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 5 | The Verzerrer Schnitzel | THE VERZERRER SCHNITZEL WAS A SCHRAMMEL ROCK QUARTET, FOUNDED IN HILDESHEIM, GERMANY. THE FOUR GUYS RELEASED FOUR ALBUMS BETWEEN 2003-2007. By local accounts these german guys were the second most popular band within the of the big city triangle around Hannover in the early 2000s. Formed in Hildesheim, Niedersachsen, The Verzerrer Schnitzel were a very big deal locally, and not as a teeny bop pretty boys or pop icons, either. The Schnitzels won lots of band battles against rival groups with their Hamburger-School-sound. Eric Lindberg of the Shopmouse remembers the Schnitzels circa 2004. By that time Shopmouse were already the biggest thing going in the nothern states. „The Verzerrer Schnitzel weren't like any of the other club bands in our area at that time“ says Eric. „They weren't funny and they didn't have the steps and routines. But they were really loud and aggressive, and pretty much ahead of their time. Gernot Wöltjen agrees. „A lot of the groups at that time were more into the love songs and pretty notes and we were more into the energy“, says Gernot. Reporters who tried to interview the band often lamented that they „don't care“. Oh - but they did! They cared about their music, they cared about their fans, the people who appreciate their music. But above all, they are honest to the point of insult. When asked to produce a track that they considered „a pretty song“, their answer was simply „No! This is our music, you either like it or you won't“. The Verzerrer Schnitzel split up in 2007 after inking a deal with a major label and you can bet some square producer wound've commanded the guys to tone down their paint-peelin' scorch. -Ron Butterfield- Line-up (2003-2006): Gernot Wötjen - vox, git Simon Schramm - git Tim Raupach aka Al Ozu - vox, bass Simon Begemann - drums Line-up (2007): Gernot Wötjen - vox, git Simon Schramm - git Tim Raupach aka Al Ozu - vox Simon Begemann - drums Sebastian Jüngel - bass

Fully equipped with these three essentials the Secret B-Sides are here on the planet, ready to help the people of Earth get together, feel a little sexy, and have some good, clean fun--to the sound of drums, electric bass, keys, and nylon-stringed guitar, finished with a vinyl-smooth vocal. Connecting people and trying to facilitate the creation of art has been my goal since the very beginning. From bringing artists together into the same room, to curating a vibe in the space before they step in. I’m always trying to push boundaries in the process. I look at mixing and engineering as a real way to do that. A way of helping artist’s translate what they are hearing (or not hearing) in their head to what they want the world to hear out loud.

Search | Add | 5 | The Nevels Sisters | With powerhouse vocals and energy that electrifies and empowers listeners, the Nevels Sisters aren't your typical gospel girl group. Offering a new style of gospel music dubbed “new traditional thump,” the ladies are the latest gospel artists helping to redefine what the genre looks and sounds like in the contemporary era. Natives of Youngstown, Ohio, the group is made up of four biological sisters: Debra, Veneice, Gail and April. Their singing ministry dates back to their father's church, Nevels Temple Church of God in Christ, where as young girls they warmed the souls of his congregation, delivering their special brand of praise and worship. Encouraged by the overwhelming positive response to their artistry, the sisters ventured out on the road with their father where they further evolved their talents. “The time that we spent on the road has really prepared us for where we are today,” says Gail. “At first, we were unaware of our gifts as artists, but now we are filled with great confidence as we share those gifts in praise of the Lord.” With a push from God that kept moving them forward, the Nevels Sisters eventually caught the ear of gospel music pioneer Vicki Mack Lataillade, who immediately recognized their unique talents. “I was just amazed by their talent and energy,” says Lataillade, who got to work, striking a deal with MoLife Entertainment to bring the Nevels Sisters under her direction at Lataillade Entertainment. “We are absolutely thrilled to be working with Vicki and we look forward to where this opportunity will take us in our journey,” says Veneice. At last primed for the big time, the Nevels Sisters are set for their first major label release, It's My Time, coming in April 2011, which offers a sparkling showcase of their mesmerizing talents. While comparisons to other gospel sister acts, like the famed Clark Sisters, are inevitable, the Nevels Sisters are excited to share what they uniquely bring to the gospel music landscape. “To be compared to the legendary Clark Sisters is an incredible honor,” says April. “We certainly hope to do them proud as we walk down the road that they paved, and to keep carrying the torch of excellence with the gifts that God has given the Nevels Sisters.” “Our goal is to make a great impact on people,” says Debra. “Each of us feels that it is an honor and a privilege that we have this opportunity and we don't plan to waste a minute of it.”

Search | Add | 5 | Leni Re'nae | Born: July 28, 1936. Leni ReNae's father immigrated to Canada from Germany before the Second World War, while her mother is of German origin as well. Her father settled in northern Saskatchewan. She's the oldest of three children and the only one that had musical talent, which she says was inherited from her grandfather on her mother's side. He played fiddle, piano, and clarinet. At a young age, she would accompany her grandfather on guitar and sing as well. While living in northern British Columbia in the 1960s, she formed her own band. Because gigs were few and far between in the remote area, a person suggested she move to Vancouver, B.C., to increase her opportunities in the country music industry. A lack of outlets for her music, along with little money, stalled her career. An opportunity came up to tour the United States with an all-girl group, which she played piano and sang on some songs. That tour made her realize music was what she wanted to do with her life, and she moved across the border to Blaine, Washington by the late '60s. When she was not touring, her husband would play drums at local shows in the Pacific Northwest. When she was on the road, he would stay home and take care of their two boys and two girls. Her children were also singers and musicians.

He intuitively comprehends that, even in a contemporary world that is becoming more digital by the day, there is still a place for the warm soft crackle of an LP, and the smell of coffee and old books. Damien specializes in nostalgic storytelling, which reconciles the romantic with the ultra-modern to create idiosyncratic and engaging branding. Works at [a=The CHAOS Custom]

We had our first band in 1975 when I was 10 and Dave was 6 called David and The Overtones which was me on piano and Dave on drums. Over the years we ended up with the name Creepy Stick after an instrumental I wrote and turned into a three piece for a while in the early 90s with Max Brody on sax (ex-Ministry drummer). The first EP came out in 2005 and the second EP came out on Halloween 2017. More CS EPs will be coming out soon and will include Max on drums and sax and other noises as well as production and stuff. Search | Add | 5 | Restless Children | Restless Children | Floris A. Brown’s normal work is getting children to see things come into shape under their hands. He teaches handwork. Off duty he loves to see something much less tangible come to shape – sounds. He leads Cape Town’s septet he christened Restless Children and writes most of their music. First there was the shaping of Floris A. Brown, musician. Born nearly 26 years ago, he inherited his love of music from his father, who gave him his first lessons in theory. Then he studied music while training as a teacher at the Hewat Training College in Athlone. Not satisfied with this, he studied composition through the International Songwriter’s Association. Then there was the shaping of the Restless Children. The group started off in 1966 as Romeo Five with Brown on rhythm guitar. A restless group this, what with the many changes in personnel. In a way they have found rest now. They no longer have personnel problems. There’s the 23-year-old Andrew Wilson on lead guitar and vocals. He first teamed up with choir, Junior Merry Melodies. Ther’s Dyrell Bailey, 26, who plays additional lead guitar, mouth organ and sax. Started his career as a jazz musician, but later switched to pop. Another ex-jazzman is Mattheun Appolis, 24, who playes bass guitar. There are the two other teachers, Greg Smith, 22, piano-keyboards and John Brown, 24, drums and trumpet. John teaches art. The two teachers also studied music at Hewat Training College. Then there is the lead vocalist, who also playes congas and tambourine, Deon Kleinhans, nearly 23. He was also a member of the Junior Merry Melodies. After their first big show in Worcester in August 1970, the septet have not looked back. Travelling in their own 15 seater bus, they have played all the major centers in the Cape. The other provinces? They have sent forerunners by way of a 7-single they released last October, “Until Tomorrow” and are now busy working on another 7-single “Try Not To Play The Fool.” “These boys are very good indeed.” The words came from TRUTONE record producer Laurence Koonin – and he was talking about Restless Children, in the studio to record their first LP ( longplaying record). Restless Children are something of a enigma. They are all country boys intent on taking over the city music scene. Their home town is Worcester – and they have played in just every country town in the Western Cape – as well as a very successful tour of South West Africa ( Namibia ). Now, with two high selling singles behind them, the group are working on their first long player. So far it hasn’t been given a name. Composer for the group is the pianist Floris Brown – and most of the numbers on the new record will be by him. RESTLESS CHILDREN was the first and only “so called Coulored” group in the Western Cape during the Apartheid years, who received a GOLD DISC for the two singles “UNTIL TOMORROW & TRY NOT TO PLAY THE FOOL” composed by Floris Brown to exceed in the selling of more than 25 000 copies in South-Africa. |

Search | Add | 5 | Nilg | Nilg was formed in 1991 in the soft area of Cologne. Coming from role models in Psychedelic Rock and Krautrock (especially Can, Queen, Herb Alpert), they have incorporated a whole range of influences into their playing over the years, from jazz and dub to electronic music to different types of so-called "ethnic" music (Stockhausen, Kuti, Gainsbourg etc.). This stylistic hodgepodge forms the fundus of musical forms that are repeatedly recombined in rhythmic improvisations, sound collages and the occasional song. That can be summed up as follows: "electronic music - hand-played" - not in the sense of the wax figure-like perfection of many post-rock bands, but as self-organizing, grooving chaos.

Search | Add | 5 | Theatre Crisp | Damian Hercules, Dave Cox AKA DC, Fearghas Gundy, Jay Baty, John Kirby AKA DJ K-FLiP, Kyle Petch AKA "humbleHAB", Michael Banks, Nicholas Serbina | Eight strangers from Niagara, with one thing in common; Keep’n it Funk, Free, and Casual! Formed in 2008 by lead singer Kyle Petch (aka humbleHAB) Theatre Crisp took a full year to practice and polish their sound to the point where it was sure to turn heads before debuting at their first show. Theatre Crisp hit the scene hard in 2009 delivering a fresh sound to the Hip-Hop community with truly original music and their unique “Funk-Hop” style. ” It would seem to be impossible for a band to create a fresh sound, since so many new artists follow the ruts worn deep by those who came before. But I was surprised, in the best way, by a band called Theatre Crisp…It was the best time I've had at a concert in a really long time.” Erin Wilson Studios The band claims their sound comes from the fact that each member originates from a distinct musical background; ranging from underground Hip-Hop, Classic Rock, Metal, Blues and Jazz which can all be detected in their songs. After 3 years of playing countless shows, 2012 was marked as a big year for Theatre Crisp with the release of their debut full length album, “Modern Daze”. Winning Best Original Group of 2012 at the NMA’s on top of being nominated for: Best Male Vocalist, Original Song of the year and Best Music Video. Finally; being granted an opening spot on a tour with BC’s Current Swell on top of countless other shows helped earn the band more popularity and coverage leading into 2013. Theatre Crisp is wasting no time in 2016 by spending time in the studio for their upcoming album (expected to be released in early 2017) while balancing a busy year of shows and festivals already being booked. 2016 is also important because the band welcomes their newest members; Drums: Damian Hercules, Trombone: Fearghas Gundy, Keyboards: Michael Banks & Bass: Nicholas Serbina! The rest of Theatre Crisp consists: of lead vocalist/rhythm guitarist Kyle Petch (humbleHAB), lead guitar/producer Jay Baty, DJ: John Kirby AKA DJ K-FLiP and finally 3 time world tap dance champion David Cox adds to the mix to create another layer of percussion and visual spectacle! The band’s unique cross genre sound has allowed them to play with a vast array of artists like: Shad, Bedouin Soundclash, USS, Current Swell, D-Sisive, Dinosaur Bones, Saint Alvia, The Balconies, Organ Thieves, StereoKid, Rebel Emergency, The Johnstones, LMT Connection, Scratch (from The Roots), and My Son The Hurricane just to name a few. Theatre Crisp writes their tunes for people who love life and love having a good time. It’s the type of music you could dance your ass off to, or just sit back and chill out. Band Interests Kickin the FUNK! |

Search | Add | 5 | Liminals | Uppsala based Liminals were formed in 2009 by Tomas Bodén and Anna-Karin Brus as a club-oriented side project to Differnet, a band where they both are members. Differnet gained widespread international acclaim with their experimental electronica on albums such as "Come On And Bring Back The Brjokén Sounds of Yore" and "The Title of the Record is the Text Printed On the Cover, Or Nothing At All". As Tomas and Anna-Karin now explore the strobing lights of the dancefloor, they continue to draw attention and have already been recognized by Pitchfork, Swedish daily Svenska Dagbladet and Swedish national radio shows P3 Pop and P2 Ström. When Liminals released their debut, the "Hearthand" EP (Friendly Noise, 2009), a video was made by Sebastian Rozenberg for the track "The Swim" and the duo has since made a number of celebrated gigs throughout Sweden and Norway (for example, the Norberg Festival, the Volt Festival in Uppsala and the Phono Festival in Bergen).
