Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Laura Beard | Laura Renee Beard | Laura Beard (6 October 1979, El Paso — 23 March 1997, Fabens, El Paso County, Texas) was an American bassist, guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter, best known as the co-founder of post-hardcore/emo/punk band [a=The Fall On Deaf Ears] in 1996 with [a=Cedric Bixler-Zavala] of [a=At The Drive-In] and [a=Clint Newsom] (from [a=Rhythm Of Black Lines] and [a=The Hades Kick]). Laura extensively collaborated with her lifelong friend, [a=Sarah Reiser], who played guitar in the FODE. One of their earliest joint projects, Rope, became the first "all-women" band to reach acclaim on the predominantly male West Texas punk scene. Laura and Sarah played in other local bands and published a feminist "riot grrrl" zine, Femme Fatale, together. They died in a single car accident at only 17; Bixler and Newsom posthumously published surviving material and dedicated a few songs and records to them. Beard grew up in El Paso, where she began making music with her childhood friend, [a=Sarah Reiser], in the early teens. They co-founded "Rope" and joined "The Glitter Girls," an all-girl punk group formed by Laura's classmate, Kristin Woodward; she invited [a=Clint Newsom], whose cousin Amanda also joined this band, to one of the practices, where he met and befriended Laura and Sarah. As Rope began gaining traction on the local El Paso scene, two friends met [a=Cedric Bixler-Zavala], a prolific drummer and vocalist who co-founded several bands, such as Foss, the [a=Dregtones], and, most notably, [a=At The Drive-In]. Laura and Sarah contributed backing vocals on the ATDI's second 7" single, [m=333386], which came out on Cedric's label [l=Western Breed Records] in 1995 and soon began playing with him. Clint Newsom joined shortly after, and they established [a=The Fall On Deaf Ears]. The band only lasted for several months but was productive, extensively performing live; in May 1996, FODE recorded a five-song demo tape with [a=Mike Major] at [l=Rosewood Studios]. They disbanded amicably by the late Fall, playing the last show at The Rugburn in El Paso. In early 1997, Laura again started to make music with Sarah, singing and playing acoustic guitars. The newly-formed duo gave one concert, opening for [a=Long Hind Legs] and [a=Thrones]. They died in a car accident returning home from Austin to El Paso, rolling over and crashing in the ditch near Fabens, Texas — merely 20 miles away from their destination. (The third passenger in the car reportedly survived.) Buried at Memory Gardens of the Valley in Santa Teresa, New Mexico, Laura Beard and Sarah Reiser lay under the same tombstone, decorated with a guitar and a ribbon that reads: "Best friends." The same year, Clint Newsom and Cedric Bixler released a commemorative [r=1342860] 7" split on Western Breed, featuring Rope and two FODE tracks on the B-side. The ATDI's third single, [m=45454], and the 7" split by [a=Ex Impetus] and Egon were both dedicated to Sarah and Laura. (Cedric Bixler later wrote the song about the tragic loss, "Napoleon Solo," on ATDI's second album, [m=45460].) In 2002, Newsom arranged a self-titled CD EP release by Fall on Deaf Ears, featuring the band's May 1996 demo, on [l=Post-Parlo Records] based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. |

Search | Add | 2 | Madzilla LV | Madzilla LV | Madzilla LV is local band from Las Vegas, that started its professional musical journey on 2018. They are pigeonholed in the “Melodic Thrash Metal” genre. The band Madzilla LV is integrated by: - David Cabezas (Lead Vocals, Guitar) - Daniel Gortaire (Bass) - David Oliveri (Guitar) - Robert Wiggin (Drums) They seek to transcend their music, to be heard by audiences of all ages, and carry their ideology through their music. An unfortunate car accident in 2010, in which David Cabezas, creator of the band, lost a great childhood friend, lead to the creation of the band’s earliest single “Judgment Day”, a song dedicated to the final moments of life, and the loss of a loved one. Other singles, like their most recent single “Vengeance”, criticize a selfish society that seeks power beyond all else, and the repercussions it creates. Madzilla LV’s members come from an extensive background in the music scene, having performed, recorded, and toured in several occasions with several different bands. Today, Madzilla LV is ready to launch their EP, and will be touring in the not to distant future. P.S. The beginnings of the band date back to 2016 when David Cabezas has complete band members and Madzilla is formed. The first composition of the band was as follows: - David Cabezas (Lead Vocals, Guitar) - Andres Borbon (Bass) - Carlos Alvarez (Guitar) - Andres Estrella (Drums) The original location is Quito, Ecuador. In 2017, David Cabezas moves to the United States to Las Vegas and completes new members of the band and the letters LV (Las Vegas) appear next to the band name. |

Search | Add | 2 | Gladys Watkins | Gladys Watkins was the first woman carillonist in Australasia and the first woman in the world to record a carillon album. She was the eleventh child born to her parents in Akaroa, New Zealand, and attended Miss Freeman's Ladies' School in Wellington. She remained active in multiple groups in Wellington during and after her years in school, volunteering to be an accompanist and teaching music when she was as young as 17 years old. She was also a member of the Royal Wellington Choral Union and choir at St. Mark's Church where her brother played organ. In the 1920's, Gladys thought about learning to play the carillon with the intent of becoming the official carillonist of the National War Memorial (Te Maharatanga Pakanga o Te Motu), which was in planning stages at the time. In 1929, she received financial support from the Wellington War Memorial Carillon Society to study with Jef Denyn at the Carillon School in Mechelen, Belgium for eighteen months, where she also studied with Victor van Geyseghem. She was the first British woman to graduate from the school with distinction, and gave recital tours in Belgium, France, and Holland. In one Dutch town, she became the first woman to ever play the carillon. Her composition "Prelude for Bells" was published by the Dutch Carillon Guild in Vijf Composities voor den Beiaard in 1934, making her the second women to ever publish a carillon score. The newly cast bells for Wellington were set up in Hyde Park, London, for nine months, and during this time, Watkins gave multiple performances that proved "even more popular than the military bands," attracting thousands of listeners. She also recorded four carillon arrangements for His Master's Voice, released in 1930. The HMV Recording Ledgers note that she also recorded "Londonderry air" and "Caller Herrin'" as unreleased test tracks (Downes, 17). The first Bulletin of the Guild of Carillonneurs in North America announced the recordings, which were also reviewed in Gramophone. In addition, she gave recitals and teaching at the University of Sydney War Memorial Carillon in December 1930 and approved the advancement of Enid Carpenter as the first woman to serve as Assistant Honorary Carillonist for the university. When the New Zealand War Memorial Carillon was opened on Anzac Day in 1932, she performed at its inauguration with Englishman Clifford Ball. After his departure, she became the first official National Carillonist. She gave a total of 307 recitals from 1932 to 1936 (or over 500 recitals, according to Downes), playing for thousands of people who listened in person and over the radio. She also created many of the arrangements for the automatic mechanism, and a "recital, by automatic player" of those arrangements was held in her memory on Nov. 5, 1939. Along with being a great performer, she was also an avid promoter of the instrument, writing articles and giving talks and interviews. In addition, she composed at least eleven works for carillon, and the National War Memorial Carillon Archives were formed from her collection of press clippings and music manuscripts. Gladys was described as "quiet and unassuming." Don't let this take away from her strongly-held opinions on the carillon. She thought that audiences should listen "not nearer than 200 yards" and in "positions in which [there] is the least traffic" (The NZ Radio Record, Apr. 29, 1932). To her, the carillon was unique in its expression of patriotism and loyalty. Author: Emmet Lewis The above text is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.

Search | Add | 2 | The Huntsman's Apology | The Huntsman's Apology - so named after a poem by Irish poet John Montague - was founded in the early nineties in Rotterdam by brothers Eric and Pim Boekesteyn. Originally a four piece, featuring Fred Stekelenburg on guitar and Hans Klop on bass, their setlist was fed on an eclectic choice of covers by Nick Drake, Tim Buckley, and more obscure folksongs. Soon however, these were traded for original material, especially after the arrival of Dorine Hehemann, whose brilliant violin playing and tender voice directed the band towards a more defined style: A unique blend of rock, classical sounds, folk and underground, with a melancholy twist. Following a number of acoustic radio sessions, the band started to experiment and include electric guitars in their sound. The departure of Hans Klop sounded the bell for a whole new era, with Luc Bunt on electric bass and Holger Breek on drums. They provided the songs with an edge, where tender folk could explode in mayhem of total abandon, and often within seconds. This line-up recorded the debut album 'Snare' in 1997. Its release met with excellent Dutch press and secured them a spot on the prestigious Crossing Border Festival.
