Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Red Treasure | Collin Daniels and Gabriel Rivero formed the core of Red Treasure in late 2015 in Los Angeles, with Daniels on vocals and guitar and Rivero on drums. Specialising in melodic, riff-centric power punk, the group's sound gives a definite nod to 90's alternative bands like Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana, along with a healthy dash of 80's-era Metallica hard rock. These elements come together on their debut 5-track EP, "The Hothouse Trip." In the studio, the band teamed up with Engineer/Co-Producer Spencer Guerra, and Rivero performed double-duty on bass and drums. For this first recording, the group also got crucial contributions from Daniels' college pal Corey Landis, of Corey Landis & The Attacks, on piano and backup vocals on the song "Only Human." Genre Alternative Rock Band Members Collin Daniels, Gabriel Rivero Home Town Los Angeles, CA, United States About Red Treasure creates melodic, riff-centric power punk, giving a definite nod to 90’s alternative bands like Smashing Pumpkins and Nirvana, along with a healthy dash of 80’s-era Metallica hard rock. Biography Singer/Guitarist Collin Daniels had founded two bands in New York City, only to watch both dissolve as other members dropped out. Undeterred, he moved his whole life to Los Angeles for a fresh start. Native Angelino and multi-instrumentalist Gabriel Rivero had high hopes for the LA-based outfit he was playing lead guitar in. One day he found himself suddenly band-less in the wake of the lead singer’s unexpected departure. Through different, circuitous circumstances that now look a lot like fate, in 2015 they both ended up working at a call center for a large bank. Conversation between cubicles about common interests soon led to the first rehearsal of Red Treasure. The band began performing around LA in 2016, and their first EP, “The Hothouse Trip,” is set for release in June 2015. Current Location Los Angeles, CA, United States

Search | Add | 2 | Mark Room | Mark Room has already begun with nine years to realize his love for music in the local marching band. Several times he wins the title „German Champion" with this club. But only to play the marsh drum was not enough – he deals increasingly with music theory. His own computer becomes like a small studio and the first sounds were arranged digitally. Furthermore he starts to play music in clubs, discotheques and on events. It is his special sound combination which makes the audible difference to other artists. In collaboration with a local studio the first release generated in the end of 2002. Promptly the track stays in various charts on top positions for several weeks. Exclusive Remixes for own use grade up Mark Room’s DJ sets and makes him ready for the international stage.

Search | Add | 2 | Arnold Sprogis | Arnold Sprogis | A native of Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Arnold Sprogis grew up during the tumultuous cultural and political shifts in Canada during the 1960's and 70's and is somewhat a musical pioneer himself. Sprogis recalls borrowing an electric guitar and a reel-to-reel audio recorder during high school and reciting, or shouting rather, a poem to screeching feedback noise and taking that recording to school. The recording was well received by teachers and students who assigned him to a local poetry club During the 70's, he studied media arts at Sheridan College where he forayed into film-making and editing with a Super 8 camera, video recording/editing and audio production. Arnold Sprogis was also a member of Toronto's The Music Gallery, the scene for creative live music, which comprised of improvised music, performance art, and avante sounds. Sprogis recorded UHFO group’s series of sessions (You Haven’t Found Out) During the mid-to-late 70's, Sprogis met Newton Garwood, a Toronto-based early electronic musician who used modular synthesis, something expensive for the time and still to this day. Together they produced the early precursors of ambient music, though they did not call it that. To them, it was just a form of avante music. While the marketing term, Ambient, was freshly minted by Brian Eno in 1978, it would not gain true currency until over a decade later. Together Sprogis and Garwood recorded and produced music that was decades ahead of its time. During the 80's, Sprogis then took electronics courses at George Brown College, which also involved computer logic. It was not until the 1990's that Sprogis then met musician, electro-ambient producer, Eric Hopper who went by the moniker, Sylken. Around this time, Sprogis acquired guitars, synthesizers, digital audio workstations, and began to produce his version of electronic-ambient music. This was a time of collaboration and co-writing songs with various artists. During this time, Sprogis clued-on to the idea of taking The Music Gallery concept and introduced the idea of a weekly live ambient music venue in Toronto's artistic Kensington Market community. He dubbed the weekly event, 'The Ambient Ping' and it became the most successful and longest running event in Toronto of its kind. A wide range of local and international talent was showcased and the crowds grew larger. The idea continued on Brian Eno's idea of ambient, where the music could be both on the fore and background. At the Ambient Ping, Sprogis went on to collaborate with artists on recorded and live performance with the likes of Sylken and Wally Jericho among others. Since then, Sprogis' music found its way onto ambient music compilations, documentary soundtracks and collaborative recordings. Sprogis currently prepares a series of albums for release, including the archival collaboration with Newton Garwood and his own upcoming full-length album, Sounds from the Unseen. |

Search | Add | 2 | Hiss Sound | Hiss Sound is a side-project of Dutch musician Olivier Schreuder, who is also behind the Thai-Dutch collective Apichat Pakwan. On their first album Taraf he collaborates with four Dutch musicians who specialize in North-Indian classic music: Martijn Baaijens, Aura Rascon, Heiko Dijker & Raj Mohan. Longtime-collaborator Robin Koek plays drums on a few tracks, and co-produced the first album. Like Apichat Pakwan the music is at the crossroads of Western, electronic and Asian music, with influences of dub, hiphop and electro. Besides Indian instruments like the sarod, bansuri, sitar & tabla there are also electric and acoustic guitars, bassguitar and drums. In each track they interact in a different way with a wide range of synthesizers and drummachines, like the vintage analog Formanta Polivoks and the 909, to form gritty, bassheavy dancefloor-oriented grooves that move between traditional raga-structures, contemporary electronic music and comprovisations. Mixed World Music from The Netherlands described the music of Hiss Sound as “vintage analog electronics and forceful beats that get pleasantly deranged by traditional Indian rhythms where necessary. The way the bansuri (Indian flute) interacts with percussion and electronics in Mishra Adelita is extraordinarily beautiful. A treat for adventurous ears.”
