Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 6 | The D-Gen's | Between 2009 and 2010 the band sold 1100 total discs of their first 2 demo cds, selling them via Facebook, Myspace, and at basement and backyard shows across Long Island, NY. Kenny Jockel has run Infernal Trinity Records since 2006, after his collaborative work with AreaDeath Productions in 2006-2007 led to an internationally distributed CD from his friends Ritual Sacrifice that sold out of 1000 copies in 2 weeks. He wrote the 3-page bio, designed the booklet, wrote the liner notes, and supplied the band with the recordings since they had long lost all their demo material, all at age 16. This led to his formation of ITR and his motivation to run the ultimate DIY label free of outside influence and corruption, and providing his services to local true-metal bands 100% Free so they can get their music out there and make moderate-money without sacrifice any degree of creative control. The bands merchandise, 2 different patches made on fully-handbuilt silkscreen presses, 12" vinyl sleeves pro-printed and assembled by hand, t-shirts designed and silkscreened by the band, and the approx. 1100 demo cd's (200 with one of 4 different handdrawn covers done by each member) and 100 CD EP's (made on band-purchased surplus factory-standard blank discs so they are silver on the bottom) is always made by hand with emphasis on uniqueness, collect-ability and aesthetic value. The bands motto printed on the back of the T-Shirts and bottom of the official press-packs (always flanked by inverted crosses), was "D.I.Y. 'Till We Fuckin' Die! F.T.S. - SVS - S9S - Fuck the rest!!" They were praised by internationally renowned acts like Militia, Spectral Incursion, and members of Decimation for their young age and for crafting their own sound combining influences from D.R.I. to Terror to Burzum to Integrity. to Midnight, without sounding like any of the above but still making their influences clear. Mike Soliz of Militia said of their second Demo CD "this is the best crossover we've heard since 87-88, if you can make it to Texas we'll split a bill with you anytime!!" (all members of Militia wrote to the band to give input on their respective instruments).

Search | Add | 6 | The European All Stars | This was a selected group of musicians from several European countries for a jazz festival in Berlin over the Pentecost/Whitsun weekend in 1961. From the liner notes of the record 1961 recorded at the festival: "At Whitsun, jazz lovers from all parts of Germany, and even from the large regions behind the Iron Curtain met in Berlin. They were there to see and hear jazz on stage, its different musical ways of expressions, and its various relations to other forms of art. This festival was marked by two highlights: first, the genius of Thelonious Monk spreading dramatic tension, as usual, and the performance of the European All Stars presented by Joachim-Ernst Berendt. -- Thirteen musicians came together, from twelve countries -- each country sending its leading musician, says Berendt. ..."

Search | Add | 6 | Paul's Big Radio | Ann Arbor/Ypsilanti, MI Paul's Big Radio is a roots influenced rock and roll band featuring songs by Morris Paul Lippens. Harmony driven vocals, a tasty two guitar punch and *pedals* Morris Paul Lippens - vocals, guitar Josh Killom - guitar, vocals Jerry Hancock - bass Robin M. Grant - vocals Paul's Big Radio is led by singer and songwriter Paul Lippens, who is specialize in a kind of delightfully ragged alt-country-tinged roots rock that seldom drifts into genre clichés, thanks largely to Lippens' heartfelt and personal approach to the stories he tells. This is the kind of thing Gram Parsons had always dreamed of, a seamless mix of country, soul, and rock & roll that he termed "Cosmic American Music," and Paul's Big Radio music is exactly that. The traditional material is done with the ragged passion of the truly smitten and possessed, with lead singer Paul Lippens' vocals careening through mountain standards in a kind of spry, spirited hoedown that would make any mountain string band proud. Yeah, it sounds distantly like bluegrass, but it isn't, drawing its strength from an older and deeper well. Lead guitarist Josh Killom in particular really shines and points to how unpredictable and versatile PBR really are. This isn't a band content to stand in one place very long, and it will be interesting to see where they go next

Search | Add | 6 | Patterson Barrett | Austin, Texas singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist known for pedal steel, Dobro, and electric guitar and keyboards. Patterson Barrett moved to Austin shortly after appearing on Jerry Jeff Walker’s first release on MCA records, playing pedal steel, dobro, and guitar (including the song “L.A. Freeway”). Not long after arriving in Austin, he formed the band Partners In Crime, which included Buddy and Julie Miller, releasing one album on their own label, Criminal Records. In the years since, Patterson produced some of Hal Ketchum’s earliest demos, served in Al Kooper’s back-up band, and performed before 10,000 festival-goers as Chuck Berry’s pianist. He accompanied Nancy Griffith on Austin City Limits, legendary Austin singer Lou Ann Barton in music clubs around the country, and Buddy Miller on several records including his recent collaboration with Jim Lauderdale, Buddy & Jim. Patterson's discography includes three solo endeavors—I Must Be Dreaming (2007), "When I Was Your Age…" (2012), and the 2018 release, Give ‘Em What They Want. He cites Neil Young and country-rock pioneers Poco and the Flying Burrito Brothers as his early influences, as well as soul stalwarts such as Sam and Dave, The Temptations, and Marvin Gaye. His music has been compared to John Hiatt, The Band (whose song “Sleeping” he lovingly covers), and Ryan Adams.

Search | Add | 6 | Mikalveli | Mikal Battle | Just like Texas, Florida, L.A., and currently the A.T.L. has been the “It Factor, the go to place for all things music” North Carolina is getting in where it fits in and is taking the reins. North Carolina is on the rise for music artist and it’s their time to shine. We have already witnessed some very accomplished talent come out of North Carolina like J.Cole, Fantasia, Petey Pablo and most recently DaBaby. There is a upcoming artist in the making who will be just the one to bring it home to North Carolina and make North Carolina the new go to place to scout talent. His name is Mikal Battle but in the music game you will find him going by the name Mikalveli aka Veli Baby. Mikalveli was born February 6, 1993 and calls North Carolina home, Greensboro to be exact. He doesn’t forget his original home town roots and so he represents both the (252) and (336) area codes but he is definitely riding and grinding for Greensboro. Veli’s music goes back to around 4th grade when his mom bought him his first electric guitar. He always had an ear for music oddly enough he couldn’t read music however he didn’t allow that to stop him because he learned to play by ear. If that isn’t enough to make you want to listen to his music and learn more about this guy then I don’t know what will. Maybe once you check out his Mix Tape “Blood Money” you will truly understand his talent and his potential as a great upcoming artist. Mikalveli went on to continue on his music path throughout Middle school by playing in the band, again still never learning to read music and only playing by ear. He was so talented he was recruited by the High School band coach. However, Mikalveli turned it down as he was all about girls then and wanted to get into sports. This caused a slight hiatus for Veli Baby from the music game. It took Veli’s uncle to be released from prison to realize his love for music hadn’t fully left. His uncle had a note book with raps he wrote in prison and Veli picked up the notebook, memorized the lyrics and would go to school rapping them. In turn Veli grew a fan base and realized not only could he learn to play instruments by ear but he also had a talent for rapping and started writing his own. In 2012, he met a guy named Major who produced music and started making music in the house with him and it was discovered Mikalveli had a real future in music as a rap artist. When asked who are some of his influences Veli does not hesitate to mention 50 Cent and the G-unit crew, but Veli definitely has a sound and energy of his own. Fast forward to 2019 by now Mikalveli has perfected his craft and has ran into none other than Sir Classic, C.E.O. of Dictator Records. Sir Classic has been in the game since 1997 and has made not only a name for himself but helped in the careers of many upcoming and established Atlanta artist. Sir Classic was promoting music between Atlanta and North Carolina when he saw the need for all the upcoming artist coming from North Carolina to have an outlet, to get their music out so he decided to stay in North Carolina for about a couple of months. While there, Sir Classic did his typical business guru move and created that outlet for the artist in the local area. Sir Classic was at a local gas station promoting his music, when he met Mikalveli and they soon exchanged contact information and later on linked up to work together and that led Veli to sign with Dictator Records. Sir Classic had organized a weekly open mic at a local club and started hosting and DJing at the open mic as a way to scout new artist and for them to have a place to showcase their musical talent. After the weekly open mic had come to an end, Sir Classic started to put his attention towards Veli and rebranding the label in the Carolina market. The one talent who stood out the most over his course of time there was none other than Mikalveli. Sir Classic saw the potential in Veli and decided to sign him to the label because in words, “Mikalveli was not only confident but he was humble.” Sir Classic appreciates artists that are teachable and who like Mikalveli want to learn the music business. Sir Classic sees not only the potential in North Carolina but he sees it in his new protege Mikalveli and both are about to make their mark in a major way. When you see that North Carolina and Mikalveli are both on the map due to Sir Classic’s vision be sure to recognize that the vision was set in motion. |

After that, in 1972, Arnie Corrado returned to work with his dad Ralph in his famous Rosie's Diner in Little Ferry, New Jersey, so renamed after Nancy Walker was filmed there as Rosie the Waitress in a series of TV ads for Bounty paper towels. Search | Add | 6 | Jiang Wen-Ye | 江文也 (pinyin: Jiāng Wényě) | Jiang Wen-Ye (1910–1983) was a Taiwanese composer, active mainly in Japan and later in China. Three hieroglyphs of his name are pronounced Kō Bunya (こう ぶんや) or Bunya Koh in Japanese. In his original compositions, Wen-Ye had been merging traditional Chinese, Taiwanese, and Japanese music with modernist and contemporary elements. Jiang was born in 1910 to Chinese parents in Tamsui, Taiwan, a Japanese territory at the time, so he became a citizen of Japan by birth. Wen-Ye attended evening classes at the Tokyo Music School and became a singer. In 1932, Jiang Wen-Ye started working as a baritone for Columbia Records and joined [a=Yoshie Fujiwara]'s Opera Company. Wen-Ye became a pupil of prominent composers [a=Kosaku Yamada] and [a=Kunihiko Hashimoto] in 1933. His orchestral work Formosan Dance was honorary mentioned at the Berlin art competition in 1936. [a=Alexander Tcherepnin] promoted Jiang's talent and published his works in Europe, USA, and China. Kō Bunya soon became one of the most frequently played composers in Japan. During the Second Sino-Japanese War in 1938, Jiang started working as a professor of musical arts at the Teacher's College in Beijing, which was then under Japanese control. In the following years, he had been commuting between Beijing and Tokyo, where his family resided. Under the Japanese surrender in 1945, Wen-Ye lost his citizenship and became practically banned in Japan. In the communist People's Republic of China, Jiang was considered bourgeois and ideologically hostile due to his cultural bonds to Japan and aesthetic affinity with European modernism. He was forced to comply with a government party taste and nonetheless became a political target during the Cultural Revolution in 1966. His honest name was restored in China only in 1978. Following his exoneration, today Jiang Wen-Ye has been rediscovered by new audiences in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong and Japan. |

Search | Add | 6 | Kids Indestructible | Tim Robinson and Phil Quaite | Kids Indestructible are Tim Robinson and Phil Quaite. Both hail from Yorkshire, England and first began recording, under the name Antidote, in 1998. Encouraged by their friend, Beatnik Records boss Carl Emery, Antidote released a 12" EP on that label called "Riot in Studio 54". This experiment in combining the disco sound of Chic with Drum &Bass gained favourable reviews in DJ Magazine among others and eventually sold out its modest run of 500. Later they would change their style to a more expansive, ambient electronic sound. They adopted a new name, Kids Indestructible (chosen as it sounded like a cartoon series yet to be made). They decided on 'Please Avoid Strong Light' as a potential album title which has since become their catchphrase and band logo. The phrase is taken from the text on the back of packets of Seabrook Crisps manufactured in Bradford in their native Yorkshire. This also became the title of one of their definitive tracks, a vocoderised Beach Boy chant mixed with electronic drones and jaunty piano, which grabbed the attention of Parisian record label, Gooom Disques. This combination of unexpected musical influences sums up the Kids Indestructible sound very well. |

Search | Add | 6 | Fletcher Clark | Austin, Texas songwriter, musician and sound engineer. Characterized as "old school Austin troubadour" by music writer Ronnie Narmour, Fletcher Clark is a prolific songwriter influenced by the Texas singer-songwriters for whom he has been sideman or producer, as well as by his love of jazz, blues, Broadway, folk, Tin Pan Alley, bluegrass, R&B, latin, country & western, rock, etc. He also draws influences from his longtime involvement with the Kerrville Folk Festival. In the '70's, his Texas show band, Balcones Fault, brought all these musics together for scores of sold-out shows at Austin’s legendary concert hall Armadillo World Headquarters. A career audio engineer, Fletcher's resumé includes a Grammy-winning live recording of the Phil Woods Quartet. For ten years he taught audio production at Austin Community College, and continues to provide his services both as live and studio engineer for a select list of clients.
