Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 6 | José Moriche | José Fernández De Alba | José Moriche was a Spanish singer born on August 31, 1890 in Burguillos del Cerro (Badajoz), Spain. José Moriche made his debut at the Teatro Real in Madrid in 1918, obtaining a resounding success with “El Barbero de Sevilla”. José Rabanal Santander affirms that Moriche lived in Barcelona, from where we suppose he would travel to his hometown and Badajoz. He soon formed an opera company and embarked for Cuba where apparently things should not have gone very well. It is at that moment when he decides to sing alone or in a duet, obtaining a resounding success that forces him to travel throughout the southern cone, recording for the best record companies. He performed in Mexico and Cuba, and then in New York where he is called upon to record popular songs. In 1923 he began recordings in the company of the Colombian Víctor Justiniano Rosales, for the Gennett label, then he made duets from 1925 with Antonio Utrera, Margarita Cueto, Arturo Patiño, Juan Pulido, Rodolfo Hoyos, Pilar Arcos, and Laura Magaña among others. Moriche recorded on labels such as Victor, Brunswick and Columbia. One of the most famous duos was the one formed with Guty Cárdenas. In the last years of his life, Moriche set up a restaurant on Long Island, and there he used to perform romances, operatic arias, and heartfelt folk songs while serving the clientele. Moriche's fame was so great that he was selected to accompany Carlos Gardel in the movie “El Tango en Broadway” as an actor, with a prominent role. José Moriche became a kind of myth. All attempts to know how the days of that tenor ended have been useless. |

Search | Add | 6 | Strong Boys | Dublin, Ireland strongboys.bigcartel.com milkrunrecords.bigcartel.com Strong Boys are a Hardcore Punk and Queercore band from Dublin, Ireland. They play a fast blend of Oi and Hardcore filled with rough and deep vocals, heavy and fast guitars and bass, and clashing drums, similar to bands such as Negative Approach and 86 Mentality. However though, there is a decent bit of a change from that style though and it lies in that instead of lyrics about being anti-social and the like, the lyrics are about combating homophobia and other related topics.

Search | Add | 6 | Junior Holt | Garth Holt | Junior Holt, born Garth Holt, is the son of Reggae Legend John Holt and Yvonne Leslie. Junior was born in the Maxfield Ave area of Kingston 13 and then moved to the country side of jamaica with his Grandma Leslie at age 7. He attended the Maud Mack School in Westmoreland then moved back to Kingston at age 13, where he went to the Tarrant Secondary. Junior started to sing at age 15 but not on a professional level. His main inspiration was his Father and then Dennis Brown. It was the year 1988 at the time he went to Spanish Town to live with his mom.Shortly after he was then introduced to DJ Hammer MouthChronicle and Gary Minott who had the inexperienced artist sing on dubplates and sound systems such as, City Rock, Strike Force, Turbo Crown, Impression Disco, and the big champion sound, Killaman Jaro. Junior Holt’s name start to ring an alarm in St.Catherine Jamaica. The young Holt started to gain more confidence in the music so it was time to hit the road to Kingston. He was introduced by his Mom to producer Ski High from Tuff Gong, who recorded three singles with the young singer. They were released in 1988 and did well in Europe. He was working at the Epiphany night club in New Kingston every Thursday night, under the supervision of Bobsie Grange. He was doing opening acts for Tony Rebel, Mighty Diamonds and Jack Radics. In the year 1993, he ran into Youth Promotion Producer Lincoln (Sugar) Minott, who recorded 2 singles from the artist and released them in Europe. In that same year Junior came across DJ Skullman, who also recorded 2 singles with the young singer. Those 2 tunes did well on the local scene and earned the singer the privilege to perform on Border Clash 93, which was the singer's first major show. In 1994, Junior Holt was introduced to Bob Marley's daughter, Cedella from Tuff Gong Records, by singer Anthony Mattai. The singer was soon signed and started to work on tracks with musical wiz, Handel Tucker. Soon after he was introduced to Singing Canary Sanchez and gained more popularity singing on the champion sound Sexilus which is also owned by Sanchez, which played every Wednesday night at StandPipe Kingston Jamaica. That was a place where you would find most artist hanging out. In 1995 Junior migrated to the United States, where he was introduced to Sir Coxone Dodd by Ansel Meditations. He recorded 5 singles for the Studio One label and by February 1996, "Still In Love with You", was released in NYC and getting regular rotation on the airwaves. In 1996 Junior moved to Connecticut and met Richie Calbut Mcpherson, and recorded a few singles that were getting regular rotation on the local radio stations. In the year 2000 Junior Holt teamed with Richie Calbut and put a 5 piece band together which was called the Calbut Band. The band lead singer which was Junior Holt all did well with shows all over Connecticut and some boroughs in New York city. In 1997 Junior Holt and ace DJ Mellow under the guidance of Valri Dotty Allen, entered the Apollo Theatre in Harlem NYC with the hit song, "Sipping Champagne." They both came out a winner and the song was released in Hartford, CT. Junior Holt then met up with King BenjI, owner of Tronic One Records. They immediately went into production on his new album called 'Good Vibes". Everyone who hears the album says it is going to be a # 1 seller. Junior Holt is now currently recording with Wattage Label under the leadership of Courtney Johnson who is also Ceo for the company. Recording Artist Don Fyah Wyah Hines also plays a great role in the Artiste Career as his road manager by earning the singer a few reputable shows down in the western side of USA. Junior Holt plans for the future is to continue his father’s works by singing good music and still set the trend his father did. You will be hearing from Junior Holt. |

Search | Add | 6 | Shopping Trolley | "I am unashamedly nostalgic" sings Melanie Pappenheim on the luxurious 'Bring back the Mary Hopkin days', one of 10 songs penned by John Miller on Shopping Trolley's eponymous debut album released on Hannibal Records in 1989 (Hannibal HNBC1349). Shopping Trolley was the band Miller led for several years in the 1980s and early 1990s. John Miller's work aches with a nostalgia for a golden age of English and American rock and pop music often of a somewhat off-centre variety. It is the world of the late Sixties/early Seventies and the annus mirabilis was 1971; reflected in the release by CBS of the double album compilation 'Rockbuster'; an event which Miller credits as a life-changing experience. John Miller's work over his entire career, starting with the superb Painswick Tapes in the late 70s/early 80s and continuing right through to the recent release of 'Preference', captures this era in style with a back catalogue of original songs and excellently judged cover versions. Around the age of 2 in Cobham, Surrey, John Miller began listening to records and hitting things. The lack of a drumkit partially diverted his musical inclinations from furniture to the piano, which he started learning formally at the age of 6. Gradually teaching himself to play by ear, he began making his own jazz/blues/pop concoctions and playing for various shows, concerts and plays. He had also become interested in making tape recordings using keyboards, drums, voices and biscuit tins. In 1989 he wrote and produced the 'Shopping Trolley' album for Hannibal Records, and he has created many more albums for his own 'Polenta' label featuring new and archival material. His work based in London has been highly diverse, with solo and group appearances and gigs with Stackridge, Van Morrison, Jacqui Dankworth, Simon Rackham (as 'Ornamental Balustrade') and many others. He is currently collaborating with the drummer Ben Reed in the duo 'Cardboard'.
