Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025

Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

In the past he produced several ghost productions that have been released on labels like Musical Freedom, Heldeep Recordings, Spinnin' Records, Flashover Recordings and more! The sound of Capsalon can be described as energetic and catchy! With the deep basses and shuffling beats his tracks will definately make you move on the dancefloor! With his releases "Bleep" and "Screech" on Ones To Watch Records he already showed what he is made of! On the 12th of October he released his collab "Break it Down" together with Rowen Reecks on Mixmash Deep! The track is supported by Hardwell, Fedde Le Grand, Jay Hardway, Mike Williams and much more! Lots of new stuff coming up, so keep an eye out on my socials! You are probably wondering where he got his name from! Well the Dutchies will know it instantly when they will see his name ;)

Search Add 2 Raphael Groten Raphael Groten was born in Philadelphia on Christmas Day, 1973, into a true music-loving environment. From happy times as the family sang during long car trips, to his father’s period of harpsichord study, to the ubiquitous presence of multiple guitars during holiday gatherings, there seemed to be something musical going on at all times. In addition, his father’s sizable jazz and classical vinyl collection, with a particular emphasis on Bossa Nova and Latin jazz, was central to his childhood experience. Raphael began with the saxophone as his chosen instrument, starting with alto sax in the 4th grade and graduating to tenor through grades 7 to 10. He moved on to guitar at age 13, learning basic chords and fingerpicking from his mother and sister, and as they say, the rest is history. While still in high school, he became immersed in folk music, composing over 100 songs with friends who collaborated on lyrics. In 1992, Raphael moved on to formal studies at the University of Vermont, where he majored in Philosophy and minored in Music. After his graduation, he launched his ten-piece Latin/jazz/funk ensemble, Saudade. The group performed extensively during the late ’90s in Burlington, Vermont, and released two albums of Raphael’s own compositions. Even as he was experiencing success with his band, something began to stir inside him; some part of him wanted to affect positive change in the world. In 1993, while taking a holistic health class, he met his first shamanic teacher, Susan Grimaldi. She re-entered his life as a healer and teacher in 2002, after his four month old son was involved in a near fatal accident. Raphael first experienced the healing power of sound during that first night in intensive care, as he played guitar for his son, and the following day when a therapeutic harpist played for his family in his son’s room. It was in this moment that Raphael had an epiphany – his life calling was to compose, perform and eventually record intentional healing music. Shortly thereafter, he began shamanic studies, first with Grimaldi and later with Zacciah Blackburn in the fields of Sound Healing and consciousness. After years of intensive study, Raphael became a practitioner, offering individual sessions, group work and apprenticeships, using voice, medicine drums, rattles, crystal and brass bowls, gongs, flutes, guitars and more. As an extension of his involvement with sound and consciousness, Raphael enthusiastically enjoys his work as a preschool music teacher and private guitar teacher. Groten credits the beginning of his recording career to his intuition. During his nightly meditations, he was guided to email his song “Black River” to Will Ackerman, Windham Hill label founder and owner of Imaginary Road Studios. He did so, asking for assistance in producing his first recording of solo guitar for healing. Ackerman responded the next day and a working friendship was formed. Three months later, Journey Home, was recorded at Will’s studio. The experience left a huge impact on Raphael, as he states “I would be remiss in not mentioning the enormous presence of Will Ackerman in my life… I now see, first hand, Will’s influence and heart in supporting the music he loves”. That is why Groten returned to Ackerman’s Imaginary Road Studios for his second album. And it shows in the continued rapport that the Grammy-winning Ackerman has with the relative neophyte, Groten. The artist’s two-disc release, Star Lullaby, displays the special relationship between Raphael and Ackerman in abundance. It will almost certainly grow his following as one of the most promising acoustic guitar instrumentalist composers and performers in the genre.

Search Add 2 Julius Bockelt Julius Bockelt Julius Bockelt is a visual artist, performer and musician from Frankfurt/Main, Germany. In his work he deals with phenomena of nature and physics. He observes, recreates and tries to capture the mostly ephemeral processes and to understand them in his artistic work: He draws vibrations, observes and archives cloud formations, preserves soap bubbles and works with experimental photography. The origin of his artistic practice lies in music, more precisely in the superimposition of sounds and the resulting vibrations and interferences.

Search Add 2 Quartier Latin Jazz Band Early German jazz band from Stuttgart, founded in 1952 by Dieter Antritter. He led this band more than 50 years. The band is also known by the name "The Latin Jazz Band". Bandleader Antritter was jazz enthusiastic and went to Paris shortly after WW2 ended. There, he met some well-known Jazz players and started to jam with them. After his return to Stuttgart in 1952, he founded the "Quartier Latin Jazz Band" as a local band in Stuttgart. Now, he started to use his network and brought Paris-based jazz musicians to Stuttgart, as Benny Waters, Mezz Mezzrow or Michel Attenoux. They were joining his band as guest musicians. The recording era started in 1960. The band's bassist was working at Stuttgart-based Deutscher Schallplattenclub. By this relationship, DSC started to record the guest performances and pressed it on vinyl. The band existed more than 50 years with Antritter as bandleader and still had live-performances in 2003. By Antritter's death in August 2015, the band existed for 63 years.

Search Add 2 Endless Lights Progressive psychedelic trance / Trance duo project based in France Endless Lights is the project of two lovers of electronic music. A metaphor for talking about happiness and emotions, a reference to space and its infinity as well as to the poetry it evokes to them. Klaus Schulze, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, and Jean-Michel Jarre were the first to put stars in the eyes of the duo. It was in the early 2000s after listening to a hardcore audio cassette for him and dance music for her that their love affair with electronic music really began. And it was during 2006 with the discovery of a trance compilation gleaned from the net that we fell in love with this music. After an already well-supplied career in hard music for their respective solo projects, Endless Lights signs the fusion of a composition combining the technique of one and the artistic touch of the other. Dive with this couple into very spatial musical layers, between arpeggios, ultra retro synth leads under musical influences inspired by Neelix, Stephan Bodzin, Giorgia Angiuli or even Perturbator. The moving and magical cosmos of a mixture of lo-fi, synthwave, midtempo, electro, trance, krautrock and sometimes hip-hop. The “infinite lights” of music, according to Endless Lights.
