Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 29/07/2025
Found 602638 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 8 | Art P | Art P (short for the project name Art Programming) is a group consisting of the electronic musicians [a=Jens-Markus Wegener] and [a=Frank Grotelüschen]. The two artists (both originally from Bremen, Germany), initially met in early 1982 due to a small add in a local newspaper when Grotelüschen was selling his Roland 101 synthesizer. Wegener became the new owner of the machine, the two kept in touch and soon became friends. After Grotelüschen was borrowing his TR 808 drum machine as well as his Jupiter 4 synth to Wegener for six weeks when he was on holiday they decided to work together. During those weeks Wegener composed about 6 to 7 tunes that convinced his newly found partner and Art Programming was born. From then on they combined forces and released music on various projects. On their first album, the self titled “Art Programming” (1983), they used instruments like the Korg Mono/Poly which they mainly used for their bass sounds, a Roland TB-303 as well as a Fricke Sequencer. Their first album still featured guest musicians Norbert Pautner and vocalist Claudia Roebke, who they also performed live with. Later, newer synths like the Yamaha DX-9 came into play. Their second album, now under the shortened name Art P, was produced more professionally. This time, the featured vocals were recorded at Dub City Studio in Bremen. Both albums were released on Wegener’s [l=P.A.P.] (Programming Art Productions) label on cassette only. It was until 1989 when Art P made an appearance on vinyl and CD with the track “Terminal Zeit” on the compilation U.S.S. Dancefloor. This electro tune with dark industrial and EBM leanings was the last track by the band. It was co-produced by Michael Vitzthum and had a more international and professional appeal. Wegener, who once was called “grand father of Bremen’s electronic scene” (see tape compilation “Berlincassette 2-85”), later became a key figure in the German music market as a founder of companies such as [l=Public Propaganda], Europe’s largest and most successful promotion agency in the mid ‘90s, the publishing company [l=AMV], the distributor [l=PP Sales Forces], among others. As a freelance promoter for [l=SPV] and the [l=PIAS] label he was also responsible for establishing the term Electronic Body Music as a musical genre. Grotelüschen was active as a music journalist (e.g. for Spex magazine) and later became an important and well known journalist for science.

Search | Add | 8 | Joanie Myburgh | Having previously provided guest vocals for post-punk artists Phobophobes and Boab, London-based indie-pop artist Joanie Myburgh has now released her debut solo EP Neurotica via Permanent Creeps Records. A cult-favorite in the London live-scene, supporting alternative rock acts like Black Lips and The Moonlandingz, Joanie infuses the grit and punk ethos of sweaty basement rock into her glittery, glamorous orb. She enlists UK-based artist and producer Jessica Winter, known for her moody soundscapes, who lays down stabbing, ominous synths that layer the four-track project with a spell-binding, dystopian edge. Joanie's lead track "Schadenfreude" shines as the apex of the project, its wicked and rapturous composition tottering between disco decadence and haunting apocalypse. "'Schadenfreude' interrogates the sickness of the modern age," Joanie tells PAPER, "where the downfall of celebrated women is entertainment." The sickly sweet delivery of the impossibly grim is tantamount to Joanie's magic. "Kerosene," with its luxurious music video directed by Ash K Halliburton, takes on the melodramatic world of the iconic '70s film Pink Narcissus. The intoxicating result captures the "intoxication, obsession and escapism" of the homoerotic oldie. From camp anthems to nihilistic eroticism, Joanie's overt interest in first-world hedonism creates thematic anchors in the project, using pop culture as kitschy, ironic breadcrumbs for contemplation. Her biting commentary, satirical edge and catchy lyricism push the strobe-lit dance songs and glossy production into exciting territory.

Folksinger / Songwriter, he is inspired by models of American folk music such as Townes Van Zandt, Blaze Foley, John Prine, Guy Clark, Steve Earle, but especially his idol: The Tallest Man On Earth. Without superfluous, Nothing but the essential. A tessitura first, of a "dramatico-sensual" gravity, striking of contrast with the gracility of the character. A guitar serving simple melodies, but with just enough to see the streets of Nashville, the steppes of Central Asia and other images of Epinal as soon as you close your eyes. The great escape, then, with that poignant little something that grips your chest, the heart stops and races at the same time." |

Search | Add | 8 | Humphrey Astley | Humphrey 'Huck' Astley is a writer and musician based in Oxford, England. In the '00s, Astley founded Rain over Bouville, a poetry press, and was a member of the much-loved noise-rock group Sextodecimo (Oxford's greatest ever metal band, according to the local press). He has since graduated with Distinction from degrees at Ruskin College and the University of Oxford, and his poetry has appeared in a range of British and North American publications. His 2014 pamphlet 'Stones through the Windows to the Soul' is downloadable from this site. In 2010, Astley's short-lived gothic americana quartet Huck & The Handsome Fee embarked on a US tour that would inspire his three-part narrative album 'Alexander the Great: a Folk Operetta', which he describes as "A queer runaway myth of two young friends and their fall from grace in Dixie." Then, in 2013, Huck & The Xander Band partnered with PinDrop Music and adapted 'Alexander the Great' into a stage-show, which was hand-picked by The PRS Foundation for their New Music Plus development scheme. The show debuted at The Cambridge Junction in 2014 and has since been described as "Raw and powerful... an impressive display of visual flair and mesmerising songwriting." (The York Press) Astley is also a member of alt-pop group Crandle and indie-folk band The Epstein, who have just released their third album, 'Burn the Branches'. In the meantime he is writing for Sabotage Reviews and The Oxford Times and is a member of the Oxford Writers' House.

Search | Add | 8 | Kim Köster | Kim Köster grew up in the picturesque artists’ village of Worpswede. In 1994 he begins to become active in the graffiti scene and to fashion the public space with his pieces under the pseudonym MIKone. With the decision to move to Berlin he broke away from the limited letter-based graffiti style and turned his focus on new media and fine arts. Today Kim Köster (born 1981) embarks on a random journey through reality and imagination. His works (mural painting, photography and installations spanning multiple rooms) are inspired by individual perception and atmospheric intuition. On this intuitive journey “souvenirs” emerge that appear apocalyptic through the complexity of the used media and nonetheless, even though without conceptual intent, vitalize existing structures. In this way in 2003/2004 the interdisciplinary art project 99rooms in collaboration with Richard Schumann, Stephan Schulz and Johannes Bünemann comes into existence. It has lured about 2 million visitors from around the globe in the rooms of abandoned industrial buildings and turns each individual into a participant of one of his intuitive journeys. His recent works "POSITIVE-NEGATIVE" display contrasted experiences of a surreal excursion into the constant play of light and shade. The interaction of painting and negative-developed slides provides impressive confusion in an inspiring exaggerated world of colors. Search | Add | 8 | Philharmonic Orchestra Of New York | The name Philharmonic Orchestra Of New York was in use on Columbia releases conducted by Stransky roughly 1917-1923. When Mengelberg took over as conductor in 1922, recordings were released by Victor under the name New York Philharmonic Orchestra (1922-1928). Throughout this period, the concert programs used the formal name "The Philharmonic Society of New York", while "The Philharmonic Orchestra" was the short form referring the the actual orchestra. In 1928, it merged with [a1325307] and the two joint orchestras took the new name: Philharmonic-Symphony Orchestra Of New York (P-SONY). The first concert after the merger and name change was on October 4, 1928. For recordings from the pre-1928 era, but issued later with P-SONY or NYP as artist: just credit the named orchestra "as on release" with ANV if necessary - no need to credit PONY. Search | Add | 8 | Martín Lizcano de la Rosa | Spanish pianist, conductor, composer, from Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain (1903 - 1981) He first organized a band that played at the Pathé Cinema of Las Ramblas street from Barcelona on 1927. That band was later renamed as Orquesta Crazy Boys (Crazy Boys Orchestra), and in the early 30s, they started recording for the spanish branch of Odeón. After the spanish Civil War (1936 - 1939), Martín dropped his first surname "Lizcano" to avoid being connected to his brother Fernando Lizcano de la Rosa (captain of the catalonian squadrons ie. Mossos d'esquadra during Franco's military uprising and shot by the Catalonian government after joining the Falangist side), and recorded again for the Spanish branch of Odeón during the 40s as leader of his own band (then known as Martín De La Rosa's Orchestra) that featured Antonio Vidal Ricart as vocalist & guitarist among other sidemen.

Search | Add | 8 | Shawn C. Baker | Bass player, Guitar Player. Vocalist. Music Manipulator. Shawn lives in San Pedro, which is an unnatural extension of Los Angeles. Sometimes in the middle of the night he walks down to the ocean, moves carefully out across the rocks and evokes Great Cthulhu to arise from his slumber in the sunken city of R’lyeh and run for political office in the United States. Cthulhu never answers. Ever the optimist Shawn fills his days with music, comics, movies and the small family he calls his own: friends, blood and the most beautiful woman in the world (along with three wily and pugnacious cats of varying shape and size).

Search | Add | 8 | Dave Zupkovich | Dave Zupkovich | Popular American tamburitza player and band leader (b. January 5, 1920 Campbell, Ohio, USA - d. August 6, 1963) Dave studied violin at the early age of seven and soon after learned to play the banjo, guitar, and his trademark, the bugarija. At age 17 he joined the popular Yugoslav Serenaders of Cleveland, Ohio and did radio work with them on station WTAM in Cleveland. Always the organizer, Dave went to Detroit and formed a group which toured the eastern part of this country. Along came World War II, and Dave gave up his musical career to serve 39 months with the 13th and 82nd Airborne Divisions in the European theater of operations. His love for music compelled him to continue his music after the war, and he became a widely-known recording artist with Balkan Records, Continental, and RCA Victor. The big hits for Dave were Leti Leti, Charm of Your Beautiful Dark Eyes, Whistler's Polka, and many others. After a successful six-month nationwide tour and many other tours in the Midwest, Dave became recognized as the 'King of Tamburitza'. With the increased popularity of television, he got on the bandwagon and shortly became a known TV personality on many international programs. Fans from all over the country enjoyed seeing and hearing the singing and playing of the memorable Dave Zupkovich. During his musical years, Dave was fortunate to have the support of the best musicians and friends one could have, including Steve Pavlekovich, Tony and Steve Burich, Mirko Kolesar, Martin Kapugi, Johnny Krilcich, Tony and Lou Markulin, Joe Matasic, George Skrbina, Pete Radakovich, Joe Marmilich, and Julius Peskan. A tribute to a great artist whose name and music will live on and on, in a legendary sense. |
