Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 18 | King Arto | Artem Sargsian a.k.a. Art Jahgun | Russian dub artist, producer, mixing & mastering engineer, creator & promoter, soundsystem operator, dub school principal When Arto first visited Jamaica in July 2013, he met a farmer named Mark and a fisherman named Aaron. Jamaicans were very helpful and were happy to accompany the artist on a journey through the island. Once Aaron told Arto that there is a recording studio in his native fishing village on the west coast of the island . Arto decided immediately to go there and record the song "NUH SELL YOURSELF", which he sang all the way, wandering along with the farmer and fishermen through evergreen Jamaica. HighWave Studio is located in Negril, directly on the shore of the Caribbean Sea. Agreeing with the elderly dreadlock engineer - the owner of the studio, the musician started to work. Arto wrote a simple version of the famous Jamaican riddim "Cuss Cuss", using the tools available in the studios: broken drums, dusty keys and bass. When riddim was ready, Arto, Mark and Aaron recorded their voices. The room was cramped after recording and stuffy, but sea breeze and sandy beach met musicians on the way out . After recording Aaron invited Marka and Arto to go to his fishing lodge, which was nearby. Musician enjoy the taste of fried sea fish, listening to the stories of farmer and fishermen, while the aged engineer completed the mastering of the song "NUH SELL YOURSELF". |

Search | Add | 18 | Mason van Kraayenburg | Mason van Kraayenburg, born in Houston, Texas, 1988, has been composing and performing original instrumental music since the turn of the century. This is when he picked up the guitar as a young teenager, finding his life’s passion and purpose. Soon after teaching himself how to play, He co-founded the band “Enloom” in 2001. Described as a collective of musicians seeking creative and spiritual fulfillment, the group was Houston’s leading pioneer in experimental music for over a decade, ultimately disbanding in 2015. This is when He began writing “The Heavenly Scrolls” instrumental music series, composing 88 pieces for the 88 constellations. Set to be released as 8 albums, each one highlights different genres and features the artists that inspire them. The recordings are currently being collaborated on by a wide range of musicians worldwide. In 2018 he co-founded the progressive rock band "Three White Doves" performing with touring acts including Coastlands, Outrun the Sunlight, Howling Giant, Granite Hands and Zealand the North. In 2020 he featured on the track “Night Owls & Hummingbirds” by ambient artist Brother Saturn. He also serves as an auditory guide for spiritual events including The World Congress On Illumination with Patricia Cota-Robles, Synchronization Workshops with Teal Swan, Fire-walking Ceremonies with John Maisel and Ecstatic Dance Festivals with Dream Dance. The music of Mason van Kraayenburg is innovative and inspiring, characterized by fusing genres and merging soulful guitar with thought provoking composition. It is clear by his mantra, “nurture the tones that resonate within you," that he wishes to awaken something special within us.

Both were born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Since they met there, they started making music together, traveling and living in some different parts of the world. It wasn't until the year 2018, that they started sharing their music with the world. Their sound is electronic rock, with a blend of each of their own musical tastes and influences mainly combining psychedelic rock with several electronic music genres. They grew up listening and loving music from Syd Barrett, The Doors, Lou Reed, Jimmy Hendrix, Nirvana, Brian Eno, Peter Gabriel, Einstürzende Neubauten, Nine Inch Nails, Aphex Twin, Joy Division, Sumo and Fela Kuti among others conforming an extensive list. In these past years they focused in listening, discovering and connecting with other great indie artists. A loving and supportive community of independent musicians and artists, fans, radio hosts, curators, DJs and producers emerged stronger than ever during these 'pandemic times'. Many of these artists also described 2:45's music saying that it contained elements of indie rock, shoegaze, post-punk, indie pop, world music and kraut rock. |

Search | Add | 18 | Rawlston Charles | Charles was born in Tobago, moving to Trinidad when he was 15. Shortly after that, he migrated to the United States, where he got involved in the automobile business, repairing, buying and selling cars. The transition from this lucrative enterprise to the shaky ground of the music arena came gradually and quite by chance. Nowhere in his plans did Charles ever intend to become involved with the recording industry—the closest he had ever come to musical activities had been as a member of the church choir during his teens. Charles had travelled to the US with his copy of Kitchener’s 1967 album. He began to add to his calypso collection, and would take his records with him whenever he went liming or partying on weekends. Eventually he started to DJ at these events and things just took off. It was very hard to get calypso records, but as a DJ Charles would not play any other music. Calypso records also cost more, as they had to be imported into the US.So Charles opened his own record store, on July 4,1972, and the next year he began to travel back to Trinidad to make contact with calypsonians and bandleaders, get their music and take it back to the States. Next he became an executive producer and started Charlie’s Records. The first production on the label was an album entitled Labor Day in Brooklyn with Mano Marcellin—which didn’t even sell 100 copies. This did not stop Charles, who admitted that at the time he knew nothing of the music business, so he set out to get it right by connecting with the right people. By 1975 Charles was putting out music from just about every major calypso and soca act of the day. Then, in 1977, he hit upon what would be the artist and the song that finally earned him the respect of the biggest players in the arena, when he made a judgment call on a piece of music that at first left people saying he was a madman. But when Calypso Rose became the first woman ever to win the Road March title, everyone admitted that Charles was not only a man with vision, but also had a sixth sense when it came to what would make a hit. Charles built and opened his recording studio in 1984. It was used not only by calypso and soca artistes, but also some of the biggest names in the East Coast hip-hop fraternity, such as Dougie Fresh, Slick Rick, and RUN-DMC. The gold records they were awarded were once proudly displayed in the studio’s hallway, but most of them were stolen some years ago and only a couple of them were salvaged. As for the music business today, despite all the changes there is hope, he says. “Fifteen years ago the youth were not interested in soca, but now, with the young artistes coming in, the youth are interested in the music and even exploring what was there before. I am here,” says this veteran, “looking forward to a bright future.”

A wealthy trawler owner volunteered to pay for his musical education in Italy where he studied in Milan from 1930 to 1933. In 1933 he made his debut as Cavaradossi in "Tosca" impressing the audience with his warm voice and his artistic temperament. The Italian press gave him the name Stefano Islandi. The following years up to WWII he toured his home country and many European countries. In 1940 he was engaged at the Royal Opera House in Copenhagen, Denmark, and became a Royal Court Singer in 1949. In the years after the war he also performed in the United States and Canada and appeared in the first operatic production of the National Theatre in Reykjavík in 1951 as the Duke in "Rigoletto". In 1966 he settled down in Iceland after having lived abroad for more than 35 years. Bio by: Erik Skytte |

Search | Add | 18 | Bullet Brak | Matthew Brock | Hitting the streets of Maryland, Annapolis to be exact, underdog hip hop artist Bullet Brak is throwing his beats to the pavement and revitalizing rap in the capital. Known by his artist persona -Bullet Brak, Matthew Brock is a young musical entrepreneur digging his heels into the music industry with his relentless spirit. Labeled as one of “15 DMV Artists You Need to Know” by XXL Magazine, Bullet Brak captures a true artist’s vision with his music, paying homage to the 90’s hip hop/ East Coast scene he grew up listening too. In the industry for 5+ years, he’s worked with artists such as The Beatnuts, Noreaga, Curren$y, The Lox, Gunplay & Torch (MMG), and Ty Dolla Sign. Brak has been featured in Sway In The Morning Show, Hip Hop Weekly magazine, XXL Magazine, The Source, AllHipHop.com, DjEnuff.com (DJ from Hot 97, NYC), YoRaps.com, ThisIs50.com, VladTV.com, SwaysUniverse.com, MrPeterParker.com, ParkerVision.TV, TrillaTV.com, and various other press publications. His current 15-track project “Brocky Balboa”, which draws from the Rocky series, was released in early October 2014. Featuring hit singles “Add Two MCs” featuring Add 2 , “97 music” featuring Test and “Bet It Back”. 2014 promises to bring collaborations with Chevy Woods, Papoose and Termanology. Inspired by entrepreneurship and determination, Bullet Brak started his music career in his hometown of Annapolis, Maryland. After learning the role that Myspace played with music artists, he quickly immersed himself into his music, honing his self-taught creative process. “If I hear something I like in a beat, it happens- as repetition like shooting free throw,” said Brak. Wanting to purse his music interest as a career, Brak moved to Harlem, NY in 2007 to attend the Institute of Audio Research, where he graduated with honors in 2009 and received the Distinguished Alumni Award. In 2014, Brak was honored with a nomination for a Underground Music Award. Describing his style of hip-hop as mixture of East Coast, 90’s and Boom-Bap, Brak’s musical icons are Big Pun and Norega. As an artist, he strives to inspire others and prove that the underdog can come out on top. Flash forward five years, he envisions himself as an A&R for a major record company, where he plans to use the music industry to solidify his personal brand in the entertainment business. “Dreams Do Come True....When I was in Arizona, 3 days after my grandfather died ,who was my idol, I was on the phone on a dark street and found a coin that was handmade with an angel on the front and inscribed on the back was "Dreams Do Come True", said Brak, “that day changed my life.” |

He had acting lessons with Erla Prollius and he learned tap dancing with Arthur Bankmann, who had already danced in films with Marika Rökk. Lutz developed a liking for the music and lifestyle of the American 50s and 60s early on. This also explains the founding of the doo-wop band "Kool Cad' And The Tailfins" in the mid-70s. The formation brought it to two LPs and three singles with the hit "Rama Lama Ding Dong". For the hit "I Should, Should Dance" he adopted the pseudonym "Jeff Thomass", under which he released 1 LP and 3 singles on Teldec, which were also successful in France and gave him three major TV shows in Paris and France Cannes bestowed. In Germany there was also the "Goldene Europa" for the best newcomer in 1986. In the 80s Lutz became a member of the show band "Rudolf Rock & die Schocker", After a private break and a few failures, he abruptly ended his work as a solo performer and founded the company "City Jive Musicproductions" in the early 1990s, with which he composed and produced music and sound design for TV commercials. Lutz was a part-time member of the "Skyliner Big Band", the big band of the University of Hamburg, and since he has always enjoyed crooners like Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin or Sammy Davis Jr., the path was somehow predetermined. |
