Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 05/01/2026
Found 619583 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

| Search | Add | 8 | Erich M. Von Hornbostel | Erich Moritz von Hornbostel | Erich M. von Hornbostel (February 25, 1877, Vienna, Austria — November 28, 1935, Cambridge, UK) was an Austrian ethnomusicologist and sound recording pioneer. Hornbostel studied the piano, harmony and counterpoint as a child; later physics and philosophy in Vienna and Heidelberg, but his PhD at the University of Vienna was in chemistry. He moved to Berlin, where he fell under the influence of [a=Carl Stumpf] and worked with him on musical psychology and psychoacoustics. He was Stumpf's assistant at Berliner Psychologischen Institut (Berlin Psychological Institute), and when the Institute's archives became the basis for the Berliner Phonogramm-Archiv, Hornbostel became its first director in 1905. Hornbostel did notable work in the field of ethnomusicology, then usually referred to as "comparative musicology." He was a highly regarded teacher, with some of his students including American composer [a=Henry Cowell] and Polish-Canadian ethnomusicologist [a3680918]. Hornbostel specialized in African and Asian music, making many recordings and developing a system that facilitated the transcription of non-Western music from recordings to paper. He saw the musical tunings used by various cultural groups as an essential element in determining the character of their music and did a lot of work in comparing different tunings. Among other notable Hornbostel's contributions was the "Sachs–Hornbostel system" of musical instrument classification which he co-authored with [a=Curt Sachs], first published in 1914. |

| Search | Add | 8 | Art P | Art P (short for the project name Art Programming) is a group consisting of the electronic musicians [a=Jens-Markus Wegener] and [a=Frank Grotelüschen]. The two artists (both originally from Bremen, Germany), initially met in early 1982 due to a small add in a local newspaper when Grotelüschen was selling his Roland 101 synthesizer. Wegener became the new owner of the machine, the two kept in touch and soon became friends. After Grotelüschen was borrowing his TR 808 drum machine as well as his Jupiter 4 synth to Wegener for six weeks when he was on holiday they decided to work together. During those weeks Wegener composed about 6 to 7 tunes that convinced his newly found partner and Art Programming was born. From then on they combined forces and released music on various projects. On their first album, the self titled “Art Programming” (1983), they used instruments like the Korg Mono/Poly which they mainly used for their bass sounds, a Roland TB-303 as well as a Fricke Sequencer. Their first album still featured guest musicians Norbert Pautner and vocalist Claudia Roebke, who they also performed live with. Later, newer synths like the Yamaha DX-9 came into play. Their second album, now under the shortened name Art P, was produced more professionally. This time, the featured vocals were recorded at Dub City Studio in Bremen. Both albums were released on Wegener’s [l=P.A.P.] (Programming Art Productions) label on cassette only. It was until 1989 when Art P made an appearance on vinyl and CD with the track “Terminal Zeit” on the compilation U.S.S. Dancefloor. This electro tune with dark industrial and EBM leanings was the last track by the band. It was co-produced by Michael Vitzthum and had a more international and professional appeal. Wegener, who once was called “grand father of Bremen’s electronic scene” (see tape compilation “Berlincassette 2-85”), later became a key figure in the German music market as a founder of companies such as [l=Public Propaganda], Europe’s largest and most successful promotion agency in the mid ‘90s, the publishing company [l=AMV], the distributor [l=PP Sales Forces], among others. As a freelance promoter for [l=SPV] and the [l=PIAS] label he was also responsible for establishing the term Electronic Body Music as a musical genre. Grotelüschen was active as a music journalist (e.g. for Spex magazine) and later became an important and well known journalist for science. | |

| Search | Add | 8 | فاطنة بنت الحسين | Fatna Bent El Hussein (1935 - 2005) was a Moroccan chaabi singer from Sidi Bennour in Morocco. Fatna has been influenced since her childhood by one of the most brilliant female artists of the time, Sheikha L’ghalia. The story began when Sheikha L’ghalia came to sing in one of the weddings in Sidi Bennour. L’ghalia was a unique woman with presence, charisma, deserved respect and pride. She was one of the rare women to drive a car at that time. This incident left a deep impression on Fatna Bent Lhoucine who then set herself the goal of becoming a sheikha like Sheikha L’ghalia. She then moved to the city of Yousoufiya after a short unsuccessful marriage experience. Fatna learned Aita from the big names like Sheikha Khadouj Laabdia and her husband Sheikh Mahjoub among others. These were her first steps toward making her image as a “Diva” and a legend of Aita. Later on, the group began to re-arrange songs performed by Sintir (Gimbri), as well as other songs that belong to women’s groups in the rural area. For example Moulay Abdellah Tohami Salmi, which describes the rituals and way to Moulay Abdellah Amgar festival in the peripheries of the city of El Jadida city. The song Moulay Abdellah is much like Sayed Mekkawi’s song , in which he describes the birth of the prophet. Another example is the song “Chaiba Ya W’lidi” of Qarzouz and Mahrash, which tells the story of a young man named Chaiba who was arrested because of the amount of cannabis that was in his possession. Despite some rearrangement and the use of new instruments like the violin and the lute, Sheikha Fatna Bent Lhoucine has preserved the pure rural authentic style in her songs which can be considered as a revival of Aita music and art. Although the wide changes and the external influence on Aita, Sheikha Fatna Bent Lhoucine, thanks to her conspicuous presence and strong voice, was undoubtedly one of the last artists that the Aita Art is pround of. If the early sheikhat and Shyoukh had the right to take pride in confronting the “makhzen” (Moroccan dictatorship) and French colonial authority, the legend Fatna Bent Lhoucine – proud of her rural identity and character of her unique voice- has the merit of reviving and established the pride of the rual identity. By registering and commemorating a large number of Aita songs, Fanta Bent Lhoucine deserves a historical legitimacy and the title of legend of Aita. She is as a reservoir of preserving the heritage and a model for Aita seasonal songs. Didn’t she said “Rani Sajjelt, La Tgoulo Mett” (artists never die). | |

| Search | Add | 8 | Peter Shambrook | Australian folk-pop singer Pete Shambrook failed to attract much attention in the United States, despite three impressive albums in the early 1990s. Almost nothing was ever written about him in the usual media, except a positive review of his album Love Unseen in CCM. Rick Elias produced his debut project, and Shambrook toured America as the opening act for Elias and headliner Margaret Becker. Love Unseen was produced by music veteran Paul Clark. It opens with what would become Shambrook's best-known song, a straighforward rock number called "I Believe in You." Love Unseen also includes a cover of Van Morrison's "Whenever God Shines His Light." Then Shambrook resurfaced with another album on the Maranatha! label at the end of the decade. By then, he was serving as college pastor of Vineyard Christian Fellowship in Newport Beach, California. Peter has also sung on a number of other Maranatha! projects, including those associated with Promise Keepers. | |

| Search | Add | 8 | Vadim Pantin | Вадим Пантин | Vadim Pantin is a composer and multi instrumentalist. He was born on November 14, 1988 in Saint Petersburg (Russia). Vadim Pantin is the founder of several musical projects (Abjective, Amachi, DomainMeta, Sejectiøn), the sound-designer, the producer and the co-owner of the British label [l=Eonian Autumn Records]. His mother had got choreographic education and his father was a drummer. Vadim has a elder brother Eugene Pantin, with whom he created musical project Abjective. When Vadim was seven years old, when the family moved to the south of Russia, where Vadim went and graduated from high school. In spite of the musical family in childhood Vadim studied sculpture and graduated from art school, and studied design at the University. In adolescence sculpture passion transformed into a sound research. He started looking for guitar chords borrowed from friend and learned the musical software like Cubase. Pantin wrote his first compositions when he was sixteen years old and was encouraged to develop his natural talents. During this period he like any teenager was looking for himself, his life of use, and the search led him to a life in a monastery, where he spent six months. This period gave aspiring musician faith in their own strength, the ascetic monastic routine helped to temper the character. During obedience Vadim sang in the choir. However, it was only a period, and the walls of religion are not sufficient for artist with a broad vision, so six months later he returned to the familiar life and moved to his hometown of St. Petersburg. Here in cultural capital of Russia he started to collaborate with different artists, made projects with creative association Outsiders Club, joined to St. Petersburg Orchestra of improvisation for some concerts, composed music for music for photo exibitions, short films, video games and other projects. For now arsenal of tools expanded to Logic Pro, Adobe Audition, Pro tools, Ableton live. Vadim Pantin plays a few musical instruments, uses unique devices what were made by his friend special for and sings on texts written by his wife. He collaborates with various musicians from such labels as Acre Recordings (UK), tonAtom (GE), Eonian Autumn Records (UK), Tympanik Audio (USA) and others. His career includes a wide range of composition genres for various tasks, making him a versatile, prolific musician. His music has no bounds. |

| Search | Add | 8 | Debbie Dierks | Debbie Dierks Montgomery | American singer/songwriter and musician from Kansas City. Daughter of Kay (Irene) Johnson, Orlene's sister. Niece of songwriter/record label owner [a6589992]. She's been singing since she learned to talk. She grew up harmonizing with her family while her mother sang and played guitar. Her mother and twin sister had been live radio singers/entertainers known as 'Kit and Kay' during the 1930's-40's. Debbie was fascinated by her mother's musical background and grew up imagining herself as a professional singer just like her mother. Debbie began singing in talent shows and school concerts. She learned to play the piano and the guitar and spent many hours singing and writing songs. Throughout high school and college, she was active in school choral groups, musical revues, and sang in church choirs. When her father died, she wrote a song for him entitled 'Daddy's Little Girl.' With this song and several other songs she had written, she and her mother and aunt headed for Nashville. Debbie was nineteen when she recorded her first country album, 'Lucky Chicago'. To promote the album, Debbie put together her own band and spent a few years traveling and playing clubs and fairs. During this time, she opened concerts for Waylon Jennings and Hank Williams Jr. as well as for Hank Snow and for T.G. Shepard. After being on the road for a time, Debbie became disillusioned with the competitiveness of the recording business and decided to go back to college. She completed her master's degree in business and met and married her husband. She maintained her love for music and chose to volunteer her services to her church. As a Sunday soloist and congregational song leader, she became more and more appreciative of Christian music. She once again began to write songs, but this time she found that she was inspired to express herself in a much more spiritual way, which resulted in Debbie's CD release, 'According To Thy Will.' |

| Search | Add | 8 | Hélène Balcer | Hélène Balcer | Born in 1981, she studied interior architecture at the École Boulle and design at ENS Cachan. She's been living in Caen for ten years, where she divide her time between teaching design and illustration. She first developed a body of work as a notebook artist, writing travelogues. In 2011, she won 1st prize in the APAJ-Libération competition with a graphic novel entitled "Yvonne, la sorcière wallonne". This led to the Le Ksar project: a graphic novel on the theme of travel and adventure (Le Ksar, éditions Warum, 2018). Alongside her writing, she put her graphic skills to good use in a variety of collaborations: she illustrates literary texts and reports, as well as record sleeves ([l134299]) and posters. She also works in silkscreen and take part in micro-publishing projects, notably with the [l294355] collective in Caen. She collaborates with magazines (Grand Format, Michel), artists' collectives (Gobo, Cie Ne Dites Pas Non) and cultural institutions (Le Pavillon Presquîle in Caen, L'IMEC). All these creative situations are opportunities to question the relationship between image and text, and feed her artistic practice. |

In 1949 he moved to Toronto to study at the Ontario College of Art (now the Ontario College of Art and Design). After graduating, he began a career in graphics and photography. He moved to Ottawa, ONT, for his first full-time job at Crawley Films where he worked as a graphic artist. In 1956, Don and a partner started their own company called Advertising Art Associates. One of their clients was The Boy Scouts Association of Canada. Don’s connection with the greater drum corps community began in July 1960 when he joined two members of the Optimists executive, Al Baggs and Clare Reid, at a meeting of what was then called the Canadian Trumpet Band Association. Don’s cartoons were frequently included in editions of GCC and many were featured in the tabloid newspaper [l2103616] between 1971 and 2000, all of which can be found in the pages of Steve Vickers’ book, “The Art of Drum Corps World.” In addition to his work with the Optimists, he found time to work with both the Ontario and Canadian Drum Corps Associations, serving as a photographer, publicity director and board member. In his spare time he wrote articles for various drum corps publications, produced the artwork for a number of record albums (almost three dozen for the Revere, MA-based Fleetwood label) as well as designing posters and doing the program artwork for a variety of contests. |

| Search | Add | 8 | Suki Lee | Who is Suki Lee? One of the more real female rappers, Suki Lee has made a name for herself in the industry. Born in San Jose California Suki Lee aspired from an early age to make music her life, so much so that she started writing lyrics at a very young age and performing at talents shows around the bay. Her first real break was being a candidate on battle of the Rappers with SWAY and King tech which she came in 2nd place, The response she was getting from the crowd of music was definitely a positive response, which made her want to take this music stuff to another level. After making a big buzz in the talent shows, and radio battles Suki Lee went on to attend Morris Brown college located in Atlanta Georgia in 1999 where she began bringing her bay area style and sensation to the map in the South. Suki Lees remarkable popularity continues over the internet with hit singles, (VICTORIA SECRET) and (ASSASINATE) Suki is a new breed of tough and talented female MCs to hit the rap scene who not only co-produces some of her own music but writes all her lyrics as well. Though she could be sexy when she chose, she isnt as over the top as Lil' Kim or Foxy Brown. But to Suki Lee music wasnt something to do just for money, it was more then that. Suki Lee use music to express herself and further challenge herself to create new music. Music to Suki Lee is one thing but her goal is to take music and use it to branch off to other projects and expand to other business. Her passion, desire and love for music shows in her work, when it comes to getting work complete she makes sure it gets done. In the end, Suki Lee is her own person; mixing Roc, Pop, and rap making it her own flavor a strong, no-nonsense street MC who could hold her own with most anyone on the mic and is finding success on her own terms. So you ask who is Suki Lee the next Rapper to go where no other rapper has gone before outer space. | |

| Search | Add | 8 | Hamburger Pankoken Kapelle | Until the 1950s, Pankokenkapelle was a type of bands that roamed the streets of Hamburg (Germany) and made music to solicit money from passers-by and residents. As a rule, they were quartets, sometimes also trios, which mainly played wind instruments. Most of the time the musicians wore black bowler hats, more rarely also top hats. Their fixed routes through certain parts of the city had to be officially approved. It is said that they mainly had well-known Hamburg songs in their repertoire and that some days they made people dance on the streets. The name goes back to Leberecht Pankoken, son of a clarinet player from Krempe, who came to the city around 1850 and founded (instead of a brass orchestra) the first Pankokenkapelle. | |
