Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 9 | Charles A. Glenn Jr. | Charles Alexander Glenn Jr. | At the age of 15, Charles Alexander Glenn, Jr. began carving out his part of Nashville music folklore. While still in high school, he played music at every opportunity as the bassist for a cover band called [a=The Endeavors]. When school was finished, the band decided to challenge the music scene in Los Angeles and try to get signed by a major recording company. Discouraged after two years with no recording deal, the members of the Endeavors went back to their roots in Nashville. Now that Charles had experienced the Los Angeles music scene, he felt sure that he had discovered the "recipe" that would work to land a recording contract. He wasted no time in bringing together all of his Nashville music friends. When the instrumental and vocal blend was absolutely perfect, they all 'knew'. This band could climb the mountain to stardom in LA. They would be called [a=Ozone (5)]. The new band was recognized by music icon [a=Billy Preston] who snatched them up to be his personal band. After touring over two years with Preston, they were signed to a recording contract by [l=Motown] Records where they created and released five Ozone albums and became the "house band" for several acts on the Motown roster. Ozone recorded and toured with [a=Teena Marie], [a=Debarge], [a=Sammy Davis, Jr.] and [a=Luther Vandross] among others. Being everybody's "house band" at Motown had its advantages, but it didn't focus on advancing Ozone's public recognition and definitely hindered the group from becoming a household name. Ozone had created the sound and magic for everybody else, while their careers were put on "back burner" status by the marketing machine at Motown. Without the company giving them radio and tour support, Ozone disbanded. Charles moved to Europe and immediately went to work touring and recording exclusively as the bassist for Billy Preston. Charles was also offered a position in [a=Little Richard]'s band and over two decades later, plays every show, recording date and television appearance with Little Richard. In between tours, Charles worked in his LA area studio, arranging and producing music for clients like Disney Records, for which he worked on "For Our Children", including artists [a=Paul McCartney], [a=Elton John] and [a=Paula Abdul]. Charles arranged, played the instruments and produced the hit single "Itsy Bitsy Spider" on that album for his long-time mentor, Little Richard. These days, Charles is up to another project altogether: The first in a series of Charles Glenn albums was released in late August 2007 (The Bass King). This music is a "compilation of a lifetime of experiences and styles". A second album has been scheduled to be released early in 2008 to coincide with tours with an all-star band. Charles has never lost his passion for live performance. |

Jimmy DeSana was renowned for his "anti-art" approach, with portraits and photographs of the human body characterized by critics "from savagely explicit to purely symbolic." He extensively collaborated with photographer and filmmaker Laurie Simmons (who managed DeSana's estates for several decades after his death) and renowned writer [a=William S. Burroughs], who penned the introduction to Jimmy's self-published '79 photobook Submission. DeSana created several critically-acclaimed album artworks, most notably [m=39312] (1978) by [a=Talking Heads] and [a=John Giorno]'s spoken word/experimental '81 collaboration with [a=Laurie Anderson] and Burroughs. Jimmy De Sana grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and began photographing in his early teenage years, primarily doing nude portraits of his friends. In 1972, after graduating from the [l=University Of Georgia], DeSana moved to New York. Jimmy became prominent with his innovative and striking portraits of numerous artists who dominated the NYC scene in the late 1970s to early 80s, including [a=Kathy Acker], [a=Kenneth Anger], [a=David Byrne], [a=Brian Eno], [a=Laurie Anderson], and [a=Deborah Harry], among others. Jimmy DeSana had several solo exhibitions in the UK and Europe and regularly appeared at [l=Pat Hearn Gallery] in New York. DeSana died in 1990 from AIDS complications, leaving his collections to long-time collaborator Laurie Simmons. Since 2022, DeSana's estate has been co-managed by [l=P.P.O.W. Gallery]. His works are in permanent collections at many prestigious museums, including MoMA, [l=Whitney Museum Of American Art], [l=Metropolitan Museum Of Art], [l=Museum Of Contemporary Art Chicago], ICA Boston and [a=Museum Of Fine Arts, Houston]. The [l=Brooklyn Museum] organized Jimmy DeSana's museum retrospective in 2022–23.

Search | Add | 9 | Somnus Corp | Beto Rodriguez, Gabriel Sordo, Jorge Lopez | Somnus Corp were formed in 2000 in Guadalajara Mexico and was driven by the solid and deep friendship of Beto Rodriguez, Gabriel Sordo and Jorge Lopez. They started to make a noise in the underground scene of Guadalajara for the remixes they did for local bands like "Sussie 4" and "Telefunka". They also became known for their live performances and reworks by their live alter ego's "Oceano 303", "Forward" and "Jorge". Beto Rodriguez has more than 13 years experience in DJ residencies in almost every major night club in guadalajara where he has been an essential component in promoting house music into the city. Jorge Lopez, with half of his life in the late 80's playing in new wave & new romantic bands, got the house music bug when he finally discovered the other side of music, house music. Gabriel with just 6 years as a DJ has already become one of the best 5 DJ's in his genre around Mexico, with residencies all over the country with Moshic and Randall Jones. He has already shared the decks with some of the biggest names in the business such as Sander Kleinenberg, Sasha, John Digweed, Danny Howells, Chris Fortier, Hernan Cattaneo, Dave Seaman, Nick Warren, Jimmy Van M, Steve Porter and Lee Burridge to name a few. Their music has been regularly supported and charted by the likes of Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren , Sander Kleinenberg, Kosmas Epsilon , Chris Salt , Moshic and Derek Howell. |

Search | Add | 9 | Kay Hardcore | Nil Kumas | Nil Kumas aka Kay Hardcore is a young composer of electronic music, Hardcore and Frenchcore. She also plays minimal house under the psendonym of DNA. Born in Mons (in Belgium) in 1993 from turkish background, the music became a need of self expression. The artists who inspired her the most in this musical scene are no others than: Radium, Micropoint, Sonnotek, Ozwalde. The electronic music scene is in constant evolution and revolution. You can get inspiration from any kind of beats and sounds. Kay hardcore focuses her music on rythmics, bass beats and distorted sounds. This makes her signature. Always looking for new inspiration and stay true to your passion. Kay Hardcore: " it still happens to me to listen to commercial music and to go clubbing" What brought you in this Hardcore music scene? " I had 14yo when i went to my first underground party, I found myself in Cornillons's basements in Liège, a very particular place.... I got hooked! I knew it was what i wanted to do! It took me a year to learn about how to mix and play with the tunes, Afterwards the live followed quite naturally" When did you start to play in front of a crowd and where? " I was 15yo, i had to play at a birthday party a whole night and i understood there it will become my passion. I remember the intense feeling, it was like a fever burning inside my head. I wanted to create my own music and share it with people. At 17, I played my first live session, in a free party in the fort of Suarlee in Namur at the Hardcorp Soundsystem. they made me part of their crew afterwards." In spite of her young age, Kay Hardcore has already played in important events like: - Hardcorp benefit - Hardcorp vs clandestine Bass 2014 - The lotus club, blaton - Chill2chill 2015 with Andy tea core and darktek at the head(top) of poster - Gabberfm circuit core - And soon Hardcorp vs clandestine 2015. As well as collaborations: - Trasher aka beast heard - MGS and Freakensis - 2 ÉP is spirit to be made. We wanted to ask a question to Kay Hardcore (out of pure curiosity) What would you say to young artists like you who would dream of a carreer in the hardcore scene? " Never give up! Keep on believing in yourself and know how to take criticism. Life is an adventure and everyday is a new chance to learn and progress." By Angie Aka Self Control. |

Search | Add | 9 | George Staiduhar | George Staiduhar was born February 9, 1945, and was the product of E. 185th Street, Cleveland, Ohio, an area rich in Slovenian style music and culture. He started lessons at age six under the auspices and teachings of Bill Sneller of Euclid, Ohio. His training and study was focused on classical music, which he incorporated into his own Cleveland style polkas and waltzes. During the ‘50s and early ‘60s, he participated in many accordion contests and received No. 1 and No. 2 recognition for the State of Ohio in his age group playing an overture and one of Mendelsohn’s violin concertos. Having played with various bands from Cleveland’s Eastside, during and after his high school years, and after discharge from the Army in 1968, he formed the “George Staiduhar Orchestra” becoming one of Cleveland’s most sought after groups in the early 70’s. He released his first recording in 1970 entitled, “Polkas on the Slope” followed by “Polka Swingin with Staiduhar”. Throughout the ‘70s, the George Staiduhar Orchestra appeared on Cleveland’s Channel 5 TV “Polka Varieties,” once having received “Most Popular Band of the Year” Award. In the 1980’s, he was asked to join the Harry Faint Revue and in 1990, released a cassette entitled, “Polkas by George.” In 1991, that recording was Album of the Year voted by the Cleveland Polka Hall of Fame. Again, all the music was written and arranged by him, who included their signature tune, “Mozart’s Polka.” That tune received recognition in 2003 by the Cleveland Polka Hall of Fame as an All Time Greatest Hit. He was also voted by the Polka Hall of Fame as Musician of the Year in 1991, 1994, and 2000. He released “Cadillac Polkas” in 1993. In 1999, the name of the band was changed to “George Staiduhar and the Revue.” In 2000, the Staiduhar Revue released a CD entitled “Y2K Polkas.” It was nominated for a Grammy. In 2004, he retired from music after 45 years and he culminated his musical career by receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award, again, from the Polka Hall of Fame. It is the highest honor award given. He works as a Federal Court Reporter with the U.S. District Court in Cleveland, Ohio.

Search | Add | 9 | Nickk Dropkick | Nickk Dropkick is a Canadian-American experimental, avant garde, and industrial musician and producer. He gained significance in the early 2010s for pioneering the sea-punk cyber genre variant "slimepunk", and in being an producer of witch house music. In addition to working in cyber genres, Nickk Dropkick has worked with and produced music within the industrial music scene, and is an avid jazz producer. Nickk Dropkick gained his first measure of mainstream success within the Canadian industrial metal band "Death Cartel" (signed with Writ in Water Sound Creations, and based in Kitchener, Ontario). From 2008 to 2012 Dropkick was the bassist and occasional lyricist of the band, and gained exposure within the North American and European industrial music scene, touring and opening for bands on the continent and visiting from Europe. In 2010 Dropkick formed the independent side project "N3rgul", where he began to experiment in electronic music and from the industrial music scene, aid in the development of the growing witch house music genre. On witch house music and according to Dropkick on his Rave Leviathan album- "You know that scene in Blade I, where they're in that vampire club and all of a sudden it goes into slow motion and there's a spray of blood pouring from the ceiling? I wanted to make music like that, just heavy, slow, pulsating, and vicious". In keeping within the transgressive industrial spirit and the avant-garde nature of his works he would later be known by, N3rgul's influences and works spanned a range of genres. With the explosion of cyber genres and internet subcultures in the early 2010s, Dropkick would begin production of his own independent variation within the slime punk genre- focusing on a dirtier, wetter, and more bass sounding genre with ties to earlier acid house. According to Dropkick, the genre is meant to be similar in satirization to vaporwave. Whereas vaporwave focuses on re-imagining capitalism and society through an alternate lens in the 1980s, Slimepunk seeks to reimagine the "trashier" aspects of pop culture from the early 2000s- with a slimer variation on seapunk fashion, nickelodeon decals, and imagery and sounds which ooze. Following his leaving the band Death Cartel in 2012, Dropkick began working on a project with fellow noise and hip-hop artist Ripdae la Wise, called "Plebs & Fuckboys". Released via Spettro Rec, the music featured in Plebs & Fuckboys would blend spoken word, hip hop, industrial, rythmic noise, and techno. All artwork for the projects first six albums were created by Dropkick within his "transgressive style".On the artwork, Dropkick claimed to want to "create imagery which made sacred the profane, and profane the sacrosanct". In 2015 Dropkick would return to metal based music with the industrial-black metal project "Vamacara". In this time period he would also begin experimentation with Jazz music and begin making music under the name Nurgul Jones. A significant work produced by Dropkick in this time was his "Co)))ltrane"- a blend of Sunn O))) and John Coltrane, which would help bring attention to and interest in the dark jazz genre of music within internet subcultures. Of Dropkick's music as Nurgul Jones, the works produced under the moniker remain experimental and often blend the skewed music witch house, memphis rap, industrial metal, neo-folk, dark-jazz within his experimental standard. Under Nurgul Jones, Dropkick has created artwork and propaganda for the Order of the Nine Angels and album art for several noise musicians, including Enbilulugugal. Dropkick has produced music while living in Canada, the United States, and South Korea. As per Plebs & Fuckboys, Dropkick is also a versatile artist specializing in transgressive art.

Search | Add | 9 | Robert Schmertz | American architect and folk musician (born March 4, 1898 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania – died June 7, 1975 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania) Schmertz graduated in architecture from Carnegie Institute of Technology (now Carnegie Mellon University) in 1921, worked as an architect for more than thirty-five years, and taught at Carnegie Tech for more than thirty years before retiring in 1965. A self-taught banjo player, Schmertz became an influential writer of folk songs, many focused on early Pittsburgh lore. His song "Noah Found Grace in the Eyes of the Lord" was recorded by [a=Burl Ives], [a=Tennessee Ernie Ford], the [a=Statler Brothers], [a=Bruce Low], and [a=Gary Crosby]. His song "Monongahela Sal" was covered by [a=Pete Seeger]. As a student, Schmertz also wrote the Carnegie Tartans' fight song, "Fight for the Glory of Carnegie." Schmertz himself only began recording in 1949 when family and friends bought him time in a local recording studio. Only 300 copies of the resulting 78rpm album, "Songs by Robert Schmertz," were produced, but they helped to spread his reputation as the "Stephen Foster of Pittsburgh." In 1955, Schmertz released a second album, "Robert Schmertz Sings His Songs," this time on LP. Two other albums followed, "Sing Oh! the City Oh!: Songs of Early Pittsburgh" ([l=Folkways Records], 1959) and "Ladies Beware of an Architect: Songs for Architects and Their Girlfriends" (1960).

Search | Add | 9 | Jimmy Plates | J. Greco | A South London based DJ and producer, Jimmy Plates has been an avid Hip Hop head for over 20 years and is known as one of London's more respected and knowledgeable record dealers [also collector and digger]. Already an accomplished DJ "Plates" decided to look for a new challenge and focused his attention towards beat-making in the late 90's. After honing his skills and clocking up several production credits on independent Hip Hop releases, Jimmy Plates exploded onto the scene with his 2003 debut 12" "Big Rigs" / "Tasty Kakes". This double "A" sided single featured the vocal talents of Philadelphia rap crew Endevers and won rave reviews in magazines on both sides of the Atlantic topping both U.S. independent and U.K. Hip Hop charts simultaneously! Feeling equally at home recording on either side of the "pond" Plates continues to work with both U.S. and U.K. artists, as well as producing music beds for London's hottest urban radio shows [most notably Choice FMs "Friday Night Flavas"] licensed music to Global Underground and for various soundtracks such as "Fear Of Death By Falling" a short film released in 2004. Not just limiting his musical talents to the underground Plates has also been the man behind some of the hottest "street" remixes in recent years of artists such as Destinys Child, Missy Elliot and Kelis earning numerous club spins, mixtape appearances and playlists on radio stations diverse as Kiss and XFM. |

Search | Add | 9 | PJ Bostic | Multi-instrumentalist PJ Bostic (formerly known as Paul Joseph Roraback), first made his mark as a drummer performing and recording in the Washington area. After touring internationally with Bloodgood for two years he co-founded the band Grammatrain, which became signed to a major label with in a year, toured internationally, released 5 records and wrote the song, "The Last Sound", a rock anthem for the Seattle Sounders which caught the ear of Sounders co-owner Drew Carey. Drew quickly kept the word of his twitter post and funded a "proper video" for the band, hiring Nik Venet to make sure the job was done well. The song was well received by Sounders fans and Seattle radio. After the break up of Grammatrain PJ Moved to Austin TX and quickly found himself touring and recording for several Austin artists including Texas guitar legend Monte Montgomery. He also toured as a drum tech/assistant for legendary drummer Terry Bozzio (Zappa, Missing Persons) for 3 years. When PJ started writing and recording his own music, he decided to take on the last name Bostic to honor the wishes of his late grandfather Paul Bostic. Influenced by bands like Rush, Pink Floyd, Porcupine Tree and King's X he has released 3 solo efforts, that have earned a place among rockers and progressive rockers alike. Never catering to mainstream pressure, PJ writes from his heart with passion, integrity and musical excellence. His songs range from short hard hitting catchy grooves in odd time to longer epic dreamscapes that accompany lyrics inspired by deep thought and personal experience.

Search | Add | 9 | Tepper-Bennett | Sid Tepper and Roy C. Bennett met as young boys growing up in Brooklyn, New York. Their mutual interest in music led to a highly successful music collaboration that spanned more than twenty-five years. Between 1945 and 1970 they had close to three hundred musical compositions published. Tepper and Bennett began their career together in 1946, when they became staff song writers for Sydney Mills (of Mills Music). Their first big hit came in 1948 with 'Red Roses for a Blue Lady'. Bennett and Tepper scored big again in 1951 when Rosemary Clooney recorded their composition "Suzy Snowflake." In 1955, their 1954 composition of "Naughty Lady of Shady Lane" was a top-10 hit for both Dean Martin and the Ames Brothers. After three years with Mills Music, the duo decided to become freelance artists, and their successes eventually caught the attention of Elvis Presley's people. Tepper & Bennett wrote 45 compositions for Elvis' albums and movies, and is quite possibly their greatest legacy to the world of music. In 2002, Roy Bennett and Sid Tepper were honored at ceremonies in Memphis, TN by Lisa Marie Presley for their contribution to her father's success. They were also honored for having written a large portion of the album Blue Hawaii, which is widely considered by Elvis fans to be his best album. Other successful artists who recorded Bennett & Tepper songs include The Beatles, Perry Como, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Robert Goulet, Dinah Shore, Burl Ives, Eartha Kitt, Les Paul & Mary Ford, Frank Sinatra, Cliff Richard, Duke Ellington, Tennessee Ernie Ford, Marty Robbins, the Ames Brothers, Jo Stafford, Wayne Newton, and Sarah Vaughn.

He began his career in the 1960s, among other things playing in the band Deecoys, a local band in Falkenberg. He was signed to Polar by Stikkan Anderson and released the album Runeson, produced by Clabbe af Geijerstam, in 1974. He then participated in the Swedish Melodifestivalen in 1975 with the song Oh, Juicy, which finished in 10th place. He also participated in the Swedish Melodifestivalen in 1983, then with the melody Värmen som du gav, which missed the final vote. The second participation in the Melodifestivalen led to him being offered to make a children's music saga for Sweden's Television, and it resulted in Hjalmar Jamas Äventyr. He then started working in advertising and in the 1980s he founded the 60s band The Hittills. In the late 2010s, contacts with the band Deecoys were re-established, and they did several concerts with music from the 1960s in Falkenberg between 2018 and 2021. Runeson became the Swedish Junior Bowling Champion in 1972.
