Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 9 | Dil-E-Nadan | Dil-E-Nada is a decades-old band which has had a rotating membership over the years. Sangeeta D'Songstar of Chutneymusic dot com provides a brief hstory of the band: "Dil e nadan was formed in 1957 by the late Usaf Khan and Ramnarine Moonilal. Dil e nadan won the Prime Minister’s Trophy for best indian orchestration which was judged by the late great Mohammed Rafi 1962. The band enjoyed a lot of success in the years to follow and dominated the local indian industry. In the 80’s the band toured mainly Canada,Guyana and Suriname and boasted the best local singers the country had at the time. (Nazimool and Ruby, Ras Nancoo). In the mid 80’s Ramnarine’s two sons Rennie and Raymond joined the group as percussionists then moving on to trumpets, and then Guitars and Keyboards. With the push from then manager Haseeb Majid ,Raymond started his career as a lead singer. He entered the national duet singing competition with Swarsati Maraj in 1989 and won first place. This proved to be the start of the rise of the Indian Culture among the youths in Trinidad and Tobago. The next year (1990) Raymond entered Mastana Bahar where he placed Second in the grand finals (a result which still has unanswered questions). Rennie the eldest of the brothers also sang in the finals. That same year the youngest of the brothers Richard joined the band as a Tabla and Dholak player. The band did their first show in New York in 1993 at York College in Queens. (the show was sold out 1 week in advance) Then in 1996 the band was signed to Soca Paradise (Ramesh Singh) and released there first C.D. People’s Choice. The success seemed to have just started as the band became the first band to tour Holland and Spain in 1997. In 1999 Richard became the youngest manager in Trinidad at only 19. Soon after dil e nadan became the first chutney group to perform at the world renowned Brass Festival and Youth fest. Dil e nadan holds the record for the most awards at the 103fm awards show (24).The band is currently sponsored by Bmobile and Stag. Dil e nadan recently signed a Five year deal in Holland with Bollywood LTD for performances in Europe."

Search | Add | 9 | Simões Da Hora | Joaquim Simões da Hora | Portuguese organist, producer and recording supervisor for classical releases. Joaquim Simões da Hora (1941-1996) stood out in the last quarter of the 20th century as the greatest Portuguese performer of Iberian Early Music for organ. In this respect his qualities as a performer came to be known in various European countries and even in the United States of America. Working within the ‘new’ Early Music current that arose in the second half of the 20th century, he was one of a generation of performers whose interpretations were founded on the use of historical techniques andinstruments, such as Jordi Savall, Ton Koopman and José Luís Uriol. His performances were recorded in four albums, which demonstrate his considerable capacities as a performer. Joaquim Simões da Hora’s professional activity also extended to the domain of pedagogy, in which he reformed the organ class of the Conservatório Nacional, where he taught between 1977 and 1995. In addition to his activities as performer and teacher, throughout his career he was deeply involved in publicising the heritage of Portuguese music, especially in relation to the organ, as well as in producing and providing musical supervision of many of the sound recordings of classical music published in Portugal in the last three decades of the 20th century. Joaquim Simões da Hora left this world in April 1996. He remains, however, as one of the great organists of recent history. His legacy is felt in the impetus he gave to awakening the interest of young performers of Early Music for organ, in his sound recordings and in his promotion of musical life in Portugal in relation to the organ from the mid 90s onwards, through the systematic creation of music festivals for organ. in HORA, Tiago Manuel da (2010). "Joaquim Simões da Hora: Intérprete, Pedagog e Divulgador", Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL-FCSH), Master Degree Thesis. |

He was then introduced to Joe Delpit and Reginal Brown to sing along with their show and dance band "The 13th Amendments. It didn't take long before Tunnie was a full member of the band and became a featured singer performing throughout Louisiana. After a year and a half of performing at nightclubs, military bases and universities Tunnie landed a record deal with Rick Hall's Fame/UA record label. His first single from 1973 was a mid-tempo number entitled "Finders Aren't Always Keepers" flipped with "Do That To Me" It gained National distribution and had some good success. Tunnie left Fame records and was introduced to Stax record executives Al Bell and John Smith. After signing with Stax Tunnie met legendary writer and performer David Porter where they recorded an album which was scheduled for release around 1973/74. Unfortunately Stax's association with CBS came to a halt and the project got shelved. Tunnie went home and carried on performing around the Louisiana area with his new band Sweet Music Orchestra"

Search | Add | 9 | Cash Money Brothas | Cash Money Brothas were a duo out of East Chicago who consisted of "Ponyboy" and "Kaoss". They started making mixtapes in their home when they were in their early 20's. Their "CMB Hip-Hop Megamix" tape series spanned 12 volumes in all and became quite popular in Gary, IN and Chicago, IL where you could find them being sold at local record stores that specialized in dance and hip-hop music. Sometimes they would sell the tapes themselves to fans for only $5 a pop. These tapes stood out at the time as they would use vinyl records to mix the songs, beats and rhythms and then add the finishing touches using sound tools on a Macintosh computer. "The mix itself takes three days to be perfected" said Ponyboy in a 1993 interview. These tapes are now quite rare and sought after by tape collectors. Around the same time the duo was also involved in production duties for the Livin Large Records label out of Chicago. Although there were only a total of 8 releases in all, many of these cuts would make their way to the clubs and House music mixtape circuit. Some were prominently featured by Chicago DJ Bad Boy Bill on his "Hot Mix" tape series. After spending most of the 90's releasing underground mixtapes, Ponyboy eventually became the frontman of the hip-hop trio, "Los Marijuanos", in 1999.

Search | Add | 9 | Phil Colbert | According to a show biz article in Jet magazine May 06th,1965 page 63, Phil Colbert was referred to as a French Canadian black. He was signed to [l39357] by [a916151] ([a10584]'s husband). He was, very briefly, a member of [a699393] in 1958 but didn't last long enough to record with them. According to Marv Goldberg's essay on the group he was fired after they did some dates at the Golden Hotel in Las Vegas around spring 1958. It looks as if he abandoned his singing career to work in promotion - he was appointed the R&B promotion manager for [l59627] in June 1967 but didn't last long there as he was working for [l46437] by early 1968. He was one of the promotion men for [l34533] in 1970 then moved back to New York in 1971 to work at the short-lived New York Sound label. In January '72 he was working for [a202256]'s [l19965] label as their promotion man for the East Coast and later, in 1976, was made R&B promotion manager for the [l1060] presumably working on the [a136273] and [a693150]. It is doubted that lasted very long as the US London label was on its last legs by that time. The trail goes cold after 1976. It's guessed he long since retired from the music business.

Search | Add | 9 | Alfiero Massimini | Alfiero Massimini | Italian Musician, Sound Engineer and Sound Designer, active between 1987 and 1997. He cooperated with various recording studios, like Logic Studios, Pixel Sound, Eclisse Studio, Stone Castle Studios, Psycho Studio, and Green Studio, covering multiple roles. Alfiero started as an engineering assistant and focused on Digital Editing, Digital Sound Design, Digital Post-Production, and Digital Mastering. He was one of the first in Italy to specialize in working on digital direct-to-disk systems such as Synclavier, Fairlight, Opus Lexicon and AMS Logic. Among Italian and international artists, he worked with Depeche Mode, Yes, Robert Palmer, Vasco Rossi, Franco Battiato, Fabrizio De Andrè, Paolo Conte, Jovanotti and many others. Unfortunately, in the 1980s and 1990s, Alfiero's work (Digital Editing, Digital Sound Design, Digital Post-Production, and Digital Mastering on direct-to-disk systems) was very often planned and performed at the last moment, when the booklet was already printed or in printing. For this reason, Alfiero doesn't appear in some album credits, even if he worked in the making. Alfiero retired from discography in 1998 and today is a real estate advisor and investor. |

Together they released a Bubbling track by the name of "Lancer", which gained noteriety among the local youth in 1999. Search | Add | 9 | Okin Shah | Progressive psychedelic trance DJ producer & live act based in Stuttgart, Germany Label manager of [L=Delicatek Records] Okin Shah is living near Stuttgart in Germany and making music as a DJ and LiveAct for Delicatek Records and Galama Records. He started DJing in 2000, at this time still with vinyls. In 2005, after trying out different music genres, he specialized himself to Goa Music in the broadest sense. Since then he played at numerous events in whole Germany, but also other countries like France, Italy, Spain and Switzerland besides well known international artists like Hatikwa, AceVentura, Infected Mushroom, Rinkadink, Neelix, Captain Hook, Atmos, Omiki, Morten Granau, and many others. In 2007 he changed his method and began to work with CD Players. In the same year he started producing his own music as only playing other peoples music was not sufficient for him. So he created a real LiveSet with Hardware (KORG Electribe machines and KAOSS PAD), what is a quite complex performance and nice to watch. In summer 2011, he started to produce his tracks with Ableton and at the moment, OKIN SHAH is working at his latest EP, which should be released in 2021. Music: With his DJ Sets OKiN SHAH is quite variable: He is mixing groovy Progressive, Progressive Psy but also melodic PsyTrance or pushing NightPsy/Twilight sets are part of his repertoire. His LiveAct (currently a real LiveAct with synthesizers and drum computers, ca.1h) is Progressive PsyTrance only (sounds similar to like Zyce, Shiva Chandra, Flegma, Haldolium, NOK,...).

Acompanhou The Supremes (Diana Ross), The Four Tops e Johnny Mathis. Participou das primeiras transmissões de TV Tupi. Nos festivais da TV Globo, acompanhou os grandes nomes da MPB.
