Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024

Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search Add 2 Lågornas Rov It was a few years that Jonas Calander and Anders Nilsson haunted each other's peripheries before Fredrik Hellman brought them together in what would become Hellman and Härden. The year was 2019 and the band quickly gained momentum. It was intense, impatient and creative. The song material became immediately digert. Hellman & Härden managed a single, an EP and a handful of gigs before everything suddenly ended. Fredrik took his own life. Somewhere in the paralyzing shadow world that followed Jonas continued. Of necessity. To survive. There was still oxygen in the music. Out of all the insomniac nights, all attempts to understand and the impenetrable haze that Fredrik left behind, the song 'The Pictures' was born. At once a tribute to Fredrik as a convulsive attempt to force their own the hatches. Somewhere in there it was created. The sketch of something new. Anders, who had decided that music was a closed chapter, was asked to give another voice to the song. A departure from what has been. Traces in the ashes and in the sorrow. And in the creative collaboration with Jonas he found the will to give it another chance. Up, forward and away. The aim was set. Then the next killing blow... Jonas had a brain tumor. On the other side after anesthesia and under rehabilitation he continued the work. Everything had gone well. On the way up and back, the collaboration between Anders and Jonas took an increasingly obvious and fixed form. Tired eyes that forced themselves to see hope seep through the fog curtains. Lågornas Rov (The Prey Of The Flames) was a fact. It's time now. That day. Dark dreamy post-punk rushing towards the light.

Since then, I have united your classic and root experience to build your musical universe. His first CD / album, "O Poder do Rítmo", composed of 08 tracks and which has the participation of his son, Cheikh Ba, shows a small part of this universe. It is a spiritual work, intuitive and innovative. They are tracks that involve the traditional rhythms and traces of contemporary music. The remarkable presence of the drums, the dialogue between the instruments, the pitches of jazz, the smoothness of the harmonies and the electronic traits, are characteristic of this work.

Search Add 2 Plague the Suffering Plague the Suffering was created in 2003 by guitarists Barry Dail and Rob Dillard with intentions of complete and total domination of the weak! Later joined by Mike, Michael and Eddie, the endless annihilation began. With the influences of bands like Dissection, Slayer, and Crowbar, Plague the Suffering is a crushing mass of classical death and melodic thrash. The nightmarish harmonies of guitarist Rob Dillard, the hellbound tone of bassist Eddie Johnson, the sonic machine gun sounds of drummer Michael Wagner, and the ghoulish, guttering, growls of vocalist Mike Parks, allows them to destroy and dominate anything in their path of metal rage. EXCERPT FROM ARCHIVED WEBSITE: Plague the Suffering was formed in 2003 by founding members Barry Dail and Rob Dillard. Shortly after the start of the band, Plague was joined by drummer Tom Nelson and bassist Jerry Coleman. In the beginning the vocals were handled by singer Dave Ripley but due to personal reasons he is no longer with the band. The vocals are now being handled by Beaten Back to Pure vocalist Ben Hogg. Ben has recently become a permanent member of the band. Plague welcomes him to the line-up in hopes of conquering many thrones. With the influences of bands like Dissection, Slayer, and Crowbar, Plague the Suffering is a crushing mass of classical death and melodic thrash. The nightmarish harmonies of guitarists Barry and Rob, the hellbound tone of bassist Jerry, the sonic machine gun sounds of drummer Tom, and the ghoulish, guttering, growls of vocalist Ben, allows them to destroy and dominate anything in their path of metal rage. “As the vultures slowly circle” will be released in the fall of 2005.

Search Add 2 Cadets Lasalle Cadets LaSalle Corps de Clairons et Tambours Cadets LaSalle was a Canadian Junior Drum & Bugle Corps from Ottawa, Ontario. Founded 1963, folded 1973. Born out of the original army cadet program started by the Christian Brothers in 1911 at the Academy De-La-Salle and under the direction of Director Claude Brisebois and in later years Rene Rockburne, the “Red Socks” was easily one of the most identifiable drum corps of its era and was well-known for its flamboyant visual and musical style. Taking the field in red cadet-style hats, white satin blouses, red, black and white sashes (worn distinctively by the corps on the right side) and the famous red socks, the Cadets LaSalle always stood out in a sea of woolen tunics, heavy shakos and feather plumes.

Search Add 2 Riley Fitzgerald Riley Fitzgerald Riley Fitzgerald (born in 1988) is a known figure in Brisbane's cultural landscape, notable for his contributions to music journalism, scholarship, and entrepreneurial ventures. From 2012 to 2021, he worked as a freelance music journalist. His writing appeared regularly in Australian publications Music Feeds, Happy Magazine, Stoney Roads, and Howl & Echoes. He also made contributions to Collapse Board, an influential alternative music publication founded by Nirvana and Kurt Cobain biographer Everett True. Riley’s diverse body of journalism covers underground music, mental health in the music industry, and memorable interviews with The Jesus & Mary Chain, and members of The Go-Betweens. He also documented the early years of the 2010s vinyl revival. Parallel to his journalism, Riley independently recorded and released two ambient music EPs. "Future Shocks" in 2013 and "Strange Waters" in 2014. Both showcase a talent for creating atmospheric soundscapes. He has also collaborated with Andrew Boyd (a Brisbane artist known for his work in Old Growth Cola and Chivalry). He has appeared live at experimental and free jazz festivals such as Reel Bad Music and Frakreactor. Riley has also pursued scholarly study of music at The University of Queensland and The University of Melbourne, greatly enhancing his expertise in classical and popular genres. A venture into entertainment law in 2012 provided him with a unique perspective on the legal intricacies of the music industry. In 2020, he founded and edited Cosmic, an Australian psychedelic music and art fanzine publishing longform journalism on acts like Tame Impala and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. He followed Cosmic with the creation of a second digital publication known as The Glitter & Gold in 2021. In 2022, amidst the resurgence of vinyl culture, Riley founded Glitter Records, a music shop in Brisbane renowned for its contrarian curation and a unique catalog of over 11,000 recordings. Today, Riley remains committed to music that challenges mainstream narratives and, increasingly, the preservation of forgotten recordings. His enduring passion continues to play a role in shaping innovation and new ways of thinking within Australian music.
