Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 2 | Matthew M. Bartlett | Matthew M. Bartlett was born in Hartford, Connecticut in 1970. At an early age he was given as a gift the novelization of The Omen; not long after that, he inherited a worn copy of Christine by Stephen King. He fell deeply in love with horror: with the Universal monsters, with Hammer films, with the rented videos from the horror section of that almost-gone artifact known as the Video Rental Store. He began writing poetry while in the English program at Central Connecticut State University. An abiding interest in horror fiction led him to start a Livejournal page whose posts were his first forays into fiction: bite-sized tales accompanied by doctored daguerreotypes and his own photographs taken in Leeds and Northampton, Massachusetts. These posts centered around a long-dead coven using radio waves to broadcast disturbing and dangerous transmissions from the dark woods of Western Massachusetts. His inspirations are varied and the foremost are certainly not atypical for the genre: H.P. Lovecraft, Thomas Ligotti, Robert Aickman, T.E.D. Klein. Other authors he admires include Donald E. Westlake, Richard Yates, J.D. Salinger, and Hunter S. Thompson. He also draws inspiration from the radio monologues and shows of Joe Frank; the poetry of Philip Larkin, of Mark Strand, of Stephen Crane; the movies of Wes Anderson, of Ben Wheatley, of the Coen Brothers. He continues to write dark and strange fiction at his home in Western Massachusetts, where he lives with his wife Katie and an unknown number of cats.

Search | Add | 2 | Killgrip | Killgrip was conceived in mid-2000 when guitarist/songwriter Steve began working with drummer Lauren on starting a heavy yet versatile band. Having a similar musical background, the duo soon began laying down the foundation by writing and arranging a handful of songs that would later make up the bands first studio EP. Shortly thereafter, they began the search for other members to fill the vacant slots. They quickly recruited Ryan to play bass, who added his own brand of heavy low-end thump to the new batch of original material. With Ryan locked in, the search for a vocalist began. At first it was difficult for the trio to discover a singer who matched the style they were looking for. One night in December of 2000, Steve and Lauren happened to meet a vocalist named Chico backstage at a show. After his tryout at the bands rehearsal studio a few days later, Chico was found to be a perfect match with what they had been searching for in a vocalist. After a few short months of the groups conception, the initial Killgrip lineup was officially complete. The quartet soon jumped right into the Boston area club scene in early 2001, playing everywhere they could, striving to have their music reach as many people possible. Killgrip quickly established themselves as a staple band within the local scene, gaining a generous fanbase within a short time. In addition to their busy live schedule, Killgrip went into the Safari Room Studios in Boston with producer/engineer Bill Carr to record their first EP during the summer of 2001. In order to replicate the bands raw live sound, the majority of the songs were tracked live and "off the floor". It contains the first 7 songs written by the band (In a Blink, Power, To Your End, Outcast, My Rage, Ortni, Freedom We Forgot). In late '01, Killgrip hit some downtime after parting ways with their original bassist. They spent the time searching for somebody to fill Ryan's shoes, and found a perfect match with Sean, who had been playing with another Boston-area band at the time. Being extremely creative, Sean rewrote many of the original basslines and added new diversified dimension to the music. Everything soon fell back into place, and Killgrip once again went back to writing new material, which has proven to be more complex and versatile than the original batch of songs found on their self-titled EP. They wasted no time in getting back out into the New England clubs and showcasing the newer songs. Shortly, Killgrip was sharing stages with well known acts such as Kittie, Tree, Unloco, and Clockwise....just to name a few. Late 2002 saw the departure of Killgrip's drummer Lauren, who had been a founding member of the band. However, the split was mutual, and on good terms. It was that time period where the band was reborn with Eman (Chico's brother) taking over behind the drums. His drumming has taken Killgrip's music to an entirely new level, with the original songs having a totally new heavier sound and feel to them. Newer songs not contained on the self-titled EP such as "Kicked Out The Closing Door", "Running Wild", and "Strength of Souls" also have that new brand of diversified musical influence found throughout them. The band is currently tearing through the New England music scene leaving no stone unturned. With all members of Killgrip having a wide variety of influences lying in the genres of metal, r&b;, country, rap, hip-hop, rock, pop, and classical music, there's no telling what will happen next...

Search | Add | 2 | Lions Quartette Of Seattle | The Enchanters were founded as the Seattle Lions Club Quartette, presumably in the mid 1920s. Its members were Marshall Sohl (first tenor), Elmore Bostwick (second tenor), Rudolph Allen (first bass), and Cecil Remington (second base). The group performed at Lions Club functions, at venues throughout Washington state, and toured in California. In 1928, the quartet recorded "Deep River" and "Moanin' Lady" for the Columbia Record Company, becoming the first Lions Club quartet to be recorded professionally. By 1929, the group had changed its name to the Enchanters. The quartet performed regularly on radio station KJR in Seattle, Washington and developed a following of fans who enjoyed their old time Southern repertoire of spirituals and minstrel songs. Other broadcasters carried the Enchanters Quartet's programs, enabling listeners throughout the Pacific Northwest, Western Canada, and beyond to hear their music.

I was called to piano at age 7, nearly seven decades ago now. The keyboard, and the universe contained within it, have been my true, most constant friends and companions throughout this lifetime. Originally, playing the piano was a means to preserve my sanity during childhood—to express and offload emotions that dared not be put into words in an abusive, ignorant, addictions-ridden household. Knowledge about harmony and musical composition, and the desire to develop improvisational proficiency, took root. They accompanied me, developing at their own, unhurried pace as I grew older and encountered the challenges of how to live in the world and be comfortable in my own skin. In any setting where I play, I always “come to play.” Sometimes I play quite well; other times I play not so well. Regardless of what kind of day I'm having, I always play to "express," rather than to "entertain." Although my compositional gifts are my stronger suit and have come more naturally to me, I still love and appreciate my playing skills equally, and I’m grateful to have both capabilities. Here’s what I can promise you, should you choose to wade into my compositions and my playing: There is no hustle, no hype, no slick promotion, no cheap charisma nor pandering, no cult of personality, no cultivating the folklore of the “suffering artist” or exulting in a self-indulgent, eccentric lifestyle, no bragging rights, no sense of being in competition with anything, or anyone. There is only the movement of soul from one moment to the next, ever sampling the richness of the palate of Creation—daring, at the insistence of the Muse, to transform some of Its wonders (from all directions) into musical expression. Creating, via composing, playing set pieces, or “hanging out” on—risking—the unforeseen, high-wire surprises (both + and -) of jazz improvisation and exploration, is daunting: sometimes joyous, sometimes fun, sometimes exhilarating, often exhausting, sometimes heart-wrenching, sometimes serene, and everything in between. Whatever the experience that, in any given moment, finds itself revealed—either through a composition or within an improvised chorus (or both)—the music, and the motivation behind it, are soul-based. In their conception and presentation, they are pure. |
