Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

They immediately forged a strong song writing partnership which is reflected in the debut album O I YEAH! ex Lords of the New Church bassist Dave Tregunna + Dave “can’t behave” Broderick on drums completing the line-up, the band took to the streets treading the boards at some of London's premiere rock haunts. The at first skeptical audiences’s were soon gob smacked by the band’s endless energy, mesmerizing stage presence and memorable tunes. After recording some demos the band soon received some airplay on regional and national radio. Next they got attention from a visiting management company from Los Angeles who immediately signed them up. A string of gigs in the U.S. soon followed culminating in L.A. where the gigs were attended by major record labels and celebrities sniffing around. However, after talking with a few major record companies and with time dragging on and on, together with management problems and the band running out of money, it became clear that no one was willing to put their money where their mouth is without the band having to stay for a prolonged period of time - right or wrong they returned home. On return to the U.K. gigging resumed and the band finished recording tracks for their debut album on their own.The band folded soon after their return to the UK. Colson | Thom Colson, 72 January 22, 2024 Lancaster lost a true music legend in Thom Colson, also known as Daddy C, on Monday, January 22, 2024 at the young age of 72. A man so full of life, his passion was entertaining. Performing for over 5 decades, he was known for his musical ability for picking up almost any instrument and learning it very quickly. Although he never really had any formal training, he was a natural. His main instruments were the B-3 organ, bass guitar and he also played a valve trombone. But his vocals are where he was best known singing songs like Brandy and Spill the Wine. Thom loved everyone he met and had so many friends and acquaintances from his work in bands over the years. He and his wife were also avid dog and cat lovers with too many pets to mention but Boz, the Irish Setter, was their most memorable one. He was born in Lancaster to Charles (Chuck) and Barbara (Bobbie) Baker Colson on November 15, 1951. He graduated from J. P. McCaskey High School in 1970. He is the older brother to Charles (Chuck) Colson Jr. Thom excelled in almost everything he did. He was a gifted artist and could draw freehand portraits from just looking at them. He was a very good swimmer as he swam for McCaskey and at Brookside Pool over the summers. He had many different jobs over the years like being a ride operator at Rocky Springs Amusement Park, of which he loved, in the late 70’s and being a lifeguard at the Host Town on Keller Ave. during the mid-70’s. But his real passion was being on stage playing in the many different bands over the years. Thom was also an entrepreneur opening up his own pizza and video shop called Dink’s Chew and View located on the Manheim Pike. You could order a pizza or sub and also get a video to watch while having your dinner. Unfortunately, due to ever changing technology, the shop closed only a few years later. Some of his more notable bands for which he played was Valerie & the Chateaus, Custers Last Band (CLB), Fat Cat, Daddy C & the All Stars, the Fabulous Cheeze Brothers and Sisters and Class Act feat. Rita just to name a few. He was also a member of the Capitol Records recording artists the Magnificent Men for a short while playing live for special events. During the mid-70’s he travelled up and down the east coast with a show band out of New York City called Shooting Star. Thom also got to share the stage with such performers as B. J. Thomas, Eddie Holman and the Soul Survivors. He also recorded a few records, one being with CLB in 1970 which is now very sought after. Thom also recorded and produced a few more 45’s and CD’s from his basement playing all the instruments and vocals. The Class of 60 Somethin’ was also another venture in which he was involved performing live and they also recorded CD’s for sale. Thom was bitten by the music bug at an early age as there is a picture of him at his 2nd birthday holding a 45 record. Over the years he amassed quite a collection of vinyl and was quite taken by Elvis, the Beatles, the Beach Boys and Todd Rundgren not to mention the 60’s soul like the Philly sound, Motown and other local talent. His parents encouraged his love of music by buying him turntables, tape players and records for birthday and Christmas and were extremely proud of him performing on stage. They even travelled to Florida to see him perform. And his younger brother looked up to him and idolized him. Not only was he a music fan but he also loved movies, especially classic horror movies. He also became a Philadelphia Eagles fan and for the life of me I don’t know why as he never followed any major sports while growing up! In 2022 Thom was widowed as his wife, Dixie, of almost 39 years passed away. His mother Bobbie passed away in 1992 and his dad Chuck in 1997 along with many aunts, uncles and a few cousins. He leaves behind his brother Chuck and his wife Julie (Willow Street) and his nephew Chip Colson and girlfriend Jill Hladczuk (Philly), his nieces Katie Colson and Chrissy DeSanctis, wife of Adrian (Orlando, FL.). He also leaves behind his two cats Emma and Lucy. Donations may be made in his memory to your favorite pet rescue as he loved all his animals. There will be a life celebration held on May 5, 2024 at the American Legion Post 34 located at 1388 Arcadia Rd. in Lancaster from 12:30 till ?. So plan on coming and celebrating one of the most infamous musicians to hit this area in a long time. Long live Daddy C. Say hi to mom and dad for me bro. I’ll see you in about 35 years from now. You are at peace now my brother. I love you. |

He grew up in the heavier artistic circles of Oslo and from a very young age he like so many expressive souls, started to play percussion drums which elevated into a life manifesting journey through all sorts of drums and whatever other musical instruments that he could get his hands on. Erland rapidly got a reputation and started jamming with the "big boys in town" where the styles of Jazz, Funk, Rock, Reggae, Ska, Fusion and Disco ruled the sonic motion. From there he also because of his near family heritage, became more and more drawn to the classical oriental side of the musical scale. In the 90-s he started to transform a strong music taste within the electronic realm where GOA was the most awe inspiring and personally heartfelt complex genre to reflect and express. Outside his love and growth within ,,real" music, Erland Yildiz through the 90-s did his share of Confusion and Club as well, and ventured into Techno and even House. As a part of an underground scene, he both produced and played at local raves. Already in '96 he was creating his own Oriental Techno Trance music. Erland "Material Music" Yildiz first got well into keyboards and piano at the age of 16, and studied the general art of Guitar at the age of 25. In his older days -now passed- he was loosely famous for owning a massive synthesizer and electronic music equipment collection in the infamous Hausmania building in Oslo where he lived since '98 as a resident squatter for many years. His collection was no joke. Material music absolutely fills his life, and has for the nerdy ones been doing HD Recordings with Midi's since 1987. Besides music he today has a renewed inspired life-force to live, love and enjoy a free and wonderful life, and is presently a proud Table-Tennis enthusiast & champion. And for those who get to know his Material Music, will hear that besides from a Psychedelic sense and respect, he also does Keysi Fighting Method which is much reflected in the energy he brings as a Goa/Psy-trance producer. On the personal question of life, he replies; "Life... parts of life. Seen it all and tasted it beyond, both in light and darkness. Or at least that's how it feels sometimes. My music inside should show structures and integrity that views how I personally enjoy to present and listen to Psychedelic Trance Music. Life's been hard, and good. Early rough start creates kind of diamond, and I hope my space and place in the music manages to create divine listening dance experiences that I've also experienced, and still love a lot to this day. Always having peace, love, understanding, unity and respect inside beyond the cheese" He also states that a Record release is static, while with a Live performance anything is possible. That's where his music truly comes to life, while performing it Live with equipment and a crowd creating those extra sonic waves and dance. For some reminiscing of band names that Erland has been a part of, he shares from the top of his head; "Protc" (drums, prog. rock) that he played in while he was 12, and the other members was around 18. Krymznylt (rock, drums), Collective Angels (Jam/Impro), Silly Trilly (Tabla, percussion).. plus a lot more bands that came and went, and a lot of ambiance experimental projects with attention to interaction and details. |

He is the son of the late Robert Kingue and Mouto Ntonè Jacqueline Cécile, and grew up in Douala, within his maternal family. After a somewhat chaotic schooling, due to a lack of financial means, he stopped his studies in the fifth grade, when he was fourteen years old. From this difficult period, he kept the emotional memory of his late paternal uncle, Ngando Nicolas, thanks to whom he and his older sister were able to attend school until they obtained their primary school certificate. When he stopped studying, Georges Jacky Eyadi Kingue took on a series of odd jobs, while his mother struggled to support the family. A teenager's life made up of deprivation and resourcefulness. During these years, Jacky forged a warrior's soul, with his passion for music as his only weapon. And to do as the grown-ups do, despite his family's reticence, he tinkers with his own instruments, which he learns to play on his own. Like his friend, Francis Ngombe Matanda, he was passionate about drums and made his own with old milk cans and rubber from used inner tubes. Both dreamed of becoming professional drummers. Finally, in 1999, Jacky gave up the drums to devote himself to singing. He then took his first steps as a singer in one of the cabarets in his neighbourhood in Douala. Despite the lack of a fee, he played there every night after his day's work, under the protection of one of the group's managers, the artist Dany Mouandjo. Only tips served as a salary. But his real apprenticeship came a few months later, during a tour of the band in the south-west of the country. He learned to use his voice as an instrument. Back in Douala after twelve weeks of touring, Jacky decided to leave the group to become a travelling singer. In 2001, at the request of singer Kaïssa Pakito, he joined the cabaret La Belle époque. He stayed there for a few months, before joining the Brasseries du Cameroun Orchestra. But in parallel to his musical activities, he decided to open a hairdressing salon in order to ensure a fixed income. He had learnt this trade a few years earlier from a friend. One evening in 2001, his singing talents were noticed by Prince Ndédi Eyango, one of the stars of Cameroonian music. The latter decided to produce his first solo album entitled Patou. The album was a success and Jacky Kingue became known to the general public. He received many awards, including the male revelation of the year 2002. Buoyed by this success, he left Cameroon that year to settle in France.In 2004, he released his second album Un pas de plus / One more step and parted company with his producer by mutual agreement. At the time, he wanted to broaden his horizons and fly on his own. But above all, he wanted to go back to school. He learnt about computers, in order to be able to make computer-assisted music. Anxious to improve his musical knowledge, he also attended the conservatory. Through hard work, he became not only a songwriter, but also an arranger. Over the years, he created a small production label (Kiharold Production), wrote songs and produced albums for other artists. In 2010, he released a maxi-single entitled En charge, which unfortunately did not meet with the expected success. Six years later, another maxi-single Open became a great success. In 2020, he scored withe a revived Chérie Coco, a song written a few years earlier. As soon as the single was released in March 2020, it was a huge success. After the aforementioned (maxi) singles, Jacky Kingue presented his new (third) album containing fourteen completely new songs on 14 November 2021 from Hotel St. Christopher's in Paris. |

He also was a great fan of a fellow Missourian named Samuel Langhorne Clemens, better known as legendary writer Mark Twain. “I bought every book I could find written by Mark Twain,” Steve says. “I always thought it would be fun to be out on the river.” Not surprisingly, Steve grew up to fulfill both of those ambitions. He became a riverboat musician. “In 1979, I started playing music on the Mississippi Queen, then on the Delta Queen,” he says. From Dixieland to ragtime to barrelhouse blues, Steve played it all. He also pumped out plumes of steam and raucous music on the Mississippi Queen’s 44-whistle steam calliope, the largest on the Mississippi River system. If the wind was right, the melodious calliope could be heard for five miles. Steve was “discovered” by the riverboat company while playing ragtime piano at the Red Slipper Club in Denver. “Someone saw me and recommended me for the Mississippi Queen,” he says. “I was 28 years old when I started on the Mississippi Queen and I’m still here … I guess it’s true that the river gets in your blood.” Over the years, Steve has also served as cruise director for the steamboat company and is now Riverlorian on my cruise aboard the American Duchess. | |
| Search | Add | 2 | Maurizio De Franchis | L' Artista : Maurizio de Franchis è un nome noto nel panorama musicale Italiano i suoi esordi nel 1985 lo vedono al fianco di Gino Paoli come cantante solista nella band dei Bandanà, con la quale portano nei migliori teatri Italiani lo spettacolo legato all'album Omonimo. Il 1987 si annuncia ricco di soddisfazioni difatti l'amico Tony Esposito lo vuole con sé al festival di San Remo dove con la band presenta il brano “ Sinuè” nel quale Maurizio è la voce solista visto che Tony è impegnato nelle sue “mitiche” percussioni, per tutto il 1988 è un susseguirsi di date del Tour che portano la band in tutti i principali eventi musicali Italiani. Nel 1990 a Napoli , nasce il progetto Souled Out primo nucleo dei futuri Planet Funk , il team di produttori formato da Alessandro Sommella , Domenico “GG” Canu , Sergio Della Monica e il “ nostro” Maurizio de Franchis. Debuttano con il singolo “Shine On” che si rivela da subito un successo prima nazionale e internazionale , catturando l'interesse di molte etichette discografiche. Il Team si mette al lavoro per la produzione dell'album dal titolo “ Sold Out ” che la Columbia distribuirà in tutto il mondo con successo commerciale, il contributo di Maurizio de Franchis è testimoniato dalla sua inconfondibile voce e dalla scrittura di tre canzoni inserite nel Cd - Lp . I Souled Out vengono invitati nel 1991 al Festival di San Remo come gruppo straniero abbinato a Riccardo Fogli ed è ancora Maurizio de Franchis la voce solista che duetta con Fogli nell'interpretazione di “ Io Ti Prego di Ascoltare “ che si classifica al 9° posto di quella edizione del festival. All'inizio dell'estate '91 parte il tour promozionale dell'album dei Souled Out che li vedrà a Londra nella mitica BBC Radio One poi negli Stati Uniti a girare il video di “Shine On” ed infine dal vivo in tutta Europa. Finita l'esperienza con i Souled Out , Maurizio de Franchis rientra a Napoli dove viene coinvolto nella rappresentazione teatrale di “ Pensieri Miei” di Luca De Filippo in veste di cantante solista al fianco di Lalla Esposito e Lello Giulivo , sotto la direzione orchestrale del M.tro Antonio Sinagra. Grande consenso di pubblico per la pièce teatrale che avrà numerose repliche . Nel 1997 Maurizio inizia a lavorare al suo progetto solista e forte dell'esperienze maturate si mette a scrivere e a comporre molte canzoni, il lavoro di produzione vede coinvolti Giancarlo Ippolito , Jhon Ryan, Bob Fix , Elio de Stefanis , Gino D’Ignazio Alessandro Canini , Adriano Pennino, Carlo Avitabile , Ernesto Vitolo e molti altri musicisti partenopei di prim'ordine. Il risultato è “Lontano Da Qui” un album di canzoni scritte, arrangiate, e cantate da Maurizio de Franchis che suona anche diverse parti strumentali. La EMI/Virgin sembra interessata a pubblicare il disco, ma la firma del contratto slitta per un cambio ai vertici dell'azienda. Maurizio de Franchis nel frattempo inizia una collaborazione con Gianni Bella che lo vuole al suo fianco come supporter nel corso della tournee di presentazione del suo nuovo album.Intanto il possibile sodalizio con la Emi/Virgin non va in porto e la produzione del Cd effettuata con tanta passione non si concretizza in un progetto discografico. Maurizio de Franchis continua nel frattempo a lavorare a vari progetti musicali scrive canzoni e collabora con Tony Esposito, suona con i Dixon Hill oltre che con altri giovani artisti Italiani . Durante una di queste sue serate dal vivo l'amico/collaboratore Pietro Pambianco mi presenta Maurizio de Franchis che mi racconta la sua storia artistica musicale, inizia così il nostro rapporto di amicizia che passo dopo passo ci porta a conoscere ed apprezzare l'animo e la qualità delll'artista, le sue canzoni e il suo mondo musicale. A questo punto decido di fare in modo che il suo sogno di pubblicare l'album “Lontano da Quì” non resti in un cassetto. | |
