Discogs artists that do not appear to exist in MusicBrainz

Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 30/03/2026

Found 621899 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.

The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.

These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.

Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.

Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.

There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.

One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report

We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.

Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

The project specializes in driving, fast-paced rhythmic songs balanced with more mellow, contemplative works. Intelligently brooding. Stoically content.

The chemistry that happens between these two is simply mesmerizing - the kind that only unwavering friendship can nurture. Their music is a little like Civil Wars meet Cheryl Crow. Search Add 6 SpiderSimpson SpiderSimpson are a Rock/Alternative band consisting of members Adam Zindani (vocals/guitar), Sam Yapp (drums), Jo Crofts (guitar), Neil Irving (bass), and Dean Deavall (keyboards). The band was originally formed as 'Casino' in 2003 and changed name following their signing to Polydor in 2006. The band played their first home gig at 'The Railway' music bar in Birmingham during September 2003. Soon after, they were approached to submit five songs for a film company - which were later to become the basis of the soundtrack for the Ultimate Pictures film - 'Global Heresy' starring Alicia Silverstone & Martin Clunes, ironically depicting the trials and tribulations of an up and coming rock'n'roll band. Over the next year, the band went on to build a loyal fan base from the roots up by gigging extensively around the U.K, including supports slots with the Stereophonics, which culminated in being invited to open the Stereophonics 2005 UK tour. During 2005 a self-produced demo caught the attention of the newly formed midlands based rock-radio station - Kerrang, who decided to playlist the band's song 'Lose Myself' during prime time listening hours. The subsequent increase in popularity saw the band continuing to play small local venues and supporting The Suffrajets on their UK tour. 'Lose myself' and 'Heavy metal machine' were both heavily featured for the Gumball 2006 TV show. The band were signed to Polydor in Spring 2006 and recorded their debut album at studio 606 in LA with producer Nick Raskulinecz. The band has seen constant support from Kerrang Radio and local and national fans and have also seen radio support from both Dave Grohl of the Foo Fighters and Kelly Jones of the Stereophonics. They recently completed the Kerrang Radio Breakthrough Tour with other newley signed bands. But 2007 was a quiet year for the band as Adam became heavily involved with touring with Stereophonics as their live guitarist. Appearing on Radio One's Big Weekend, Later... With Jools Holland, The Friday Night Project, Q Awards and many other shows. He was also hugely involved in the promotion for Stereophonics sixth studio album Pull The Pin. He looks set to continue touring across Europe with the band this year [2008].
Search Add 6 Tartovisti Tartovisti started as a new Dave Powell solo, but ended up as the birth of a new musical project. Nigel and Dave had played together in a staff school band in the early 1980's. As Tartovisti they move well away from conventional music, exploring a variety of styles from medieval dirges through to free-form guitar wielding trips.

Search Add 6 Barboza.techno Santiago Miguel Barboza Barboza.techno blends classic 1990s techno with electro and rock. The project is divided into two types of shows: a DJ set aimed at dance floors, and a live set designed for theaters, rock festivals, and non-conventional stages for the genre. This is precisely the distinctive aspect of my project: bringing the sound of techno into the rock scene, as if it were a punk band. My lyrics and melodies speak about humanity, our heritage, and our conflicts. This concept led me to win the “ArtKa Presenta” open call. The project also includes an educational component in the form of masterclasses and seminars, where I explain my workflows for performing and composing.

Search Add 6 Fishy Friends Named after a toy set for babies, five guys from the Winschoten area in The Netherlands are writing their own songs in the style of Nirvana, The Posies, Teenage Fanclub and Smashing Pumpkins starting from 1993. After playing a few gigs the boys recorded the first album entitled “Starring Netty” which sees the light of day in May 1994, More shows are there and they make it till the popcontest of Groningen called “Pop=Prima Prijs” in 1995. Unfortunately they end up not winning the prize. In 1996 recordings began for the second one called “Hurray!”. The music has become more solid and is more furious but still melodic with nice vocal harmonies. A few shows are played but due to lack of success the members started to focus on other bands and projects. In 1998 it all ended. The songs stick to your head immediately and are still not outdated. In 2019 they came together again and old songs were played but also new songs are written. On stage again on the 5th of May 2022 after so many years. A new album is recorded.

Search Add 6 Heralders' Quartet "The Heralders Quartet was formed when four young men whose lives were committed to Christ, started singing together spontaneously one night, just for fun. In just a few years their sound has become a very familiar one throughout Michigan and elsewhere in the Mid-West. Many of their recordings can be heard at any time of the day or night on a variety of radio stations or on television. Their excellent results have been achieved only through long hours of practice and very hard work. The splendid blend of their voices in the singing of Gospel Hymns has added new dimensions and freshness to the beautiful thoughts found in the songs. They have a message to sing because each one of them has experienced the faithfulness of God in his own life; 'For His eye is on the sparrow, and I know He watches me'. It is the hope and prayer of each quartet member that the message expressed through the songs on this, their latest recording, will inspire every listener to greater faith and devotion to the Christ they love and serve." - - Rev. Philip J. Koster (from "His Eye Is On The Sparrow" album liner notes)

Search Add 6 Strip The Threads Strip The Thread’s short existence in 2001, which only lasted for a year, left a memorable impact upon the Dutch Straight Edge hardcore scene. At the time, there were very few European bands who played straight forward clean-cut hardcore, inspired by the ones from a recent past such as Chain of Strenght, Hands Tied, Mouthpiece and Over The Line. On top of that: Strip The Threads consisted of members who were committed to the Straight Edge, (formerly) being part of bands like Reaching Forward, Know Your Enemy, Abusive Action, Product X and One Day Closer. With a budget of no more than just a couple of euros, the band released a limited edition 6 song demo-tape that was recorded in someone’s basement within a day. It sold out immediately and has never been re-released ever since, not until the songs were re-recorded and released as the "Won't hold back" EP by NOT JUST WORDS records not until 2010, but including two new songs. A year after their last show Strip The Threads made a guest appearance at the final show of fellow band Reaching Forward in 2002, the last time that all of the original members got together to play for a completely packed Goudvishal (Arnhem/Holland). A demo, some shirts, a handfull of shows and an amazing EP is what's left of Strip The Thread's legacy. Strip The Threads was: Johan - vocals Arthur - guitar Harm / Arold - bass Daan - drums Strip The Threads on the EP-recording: Johan - vocals / guitar Ries - drums Arthur - guitar / bass

Search Add 6 Seomoon Tak Lee Su-jin Seomoon Tak, a female South Korean rock singer with a powerful voice and a wide vocal range, is an alumna of Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, and majored in Music Production and Engineering. She debuted in 1999 and sold her first album over 300,000 copies and her second album over 300,000 copies. After she debuted in Korea, she regularly had more than 1,000 live performances per year, and radio and TV shows appearances. She released 6 studio albums (Korean), 2 studio albums (Japanese), and 2 single albums, and recorded multiple movie and television soundtracks. Marty Friedman, the guitarist of Megadeath, also featured her second Japanese album. Besides her recordings, she was casted as Yitzhak, the musical Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Acid Queen, and the musical The Who's Tommy in both Korea and Japan for many years. She is the first and only Asian Berklee student who was selected to perform for both "Singer's Night" and "Singer's Showcase" in front of over a thousand audiences at Berklee Performance Center for multiple times. In 2012, she appeared a Korean TV show, I Am a Singer 2, where selected veteran Korean singers by advisory panels perform and compete each other. This sensational concept raised the Korean music scene to a higher level, and let the audiences truly focus on authenticity and quality of the music and the vocalist. Chinese broadcasting company adapted this show, which made a huge success in China. Seomoon Tak survived for five months and she made the final round of the entire season of the show. As she released her second single in summer 2013, she started a project band, Seomoon Tak Band. This January, Seomoon Tak Band successfully had their solo concert in South Korea.

Search Add 6 Archer C Hostettler Archer was born in Thailand and moved to London when she was 13 years old and now base in Switzerland. Even before this young age she had a very keen interest in photography and art but not until she moved to London was she able to immerse herself in an environment where she was able to flourish and expand her creativity She drew inspiration from the eclectic architecture of London. This theme continues into her current works, which draws a striking contrast between hard architecture and softer humanity. Her work had developed artistically and shows a distinct abstract quality, which encompasses a variety of styles but still retains the unique and inimitable style that is characteristic of her work. If one word were to be used to epitomize Archer work it would be dynamic. She consistently seek to challenge herself creatively to push her work forward therefore producing art, which is multi-faceted and versatile. Archer has worked in publicity studios, fashion rooms and as a freelance photographer for clubs, her photos had been used for cover, flyer in many underground music labels. Looking forward, Archer is seeking to expand her subjects, creating art, which had a broad appeal while incorporating her unique aspect.

Search Add 6 Syncretism Syncretism, NOUN : the amalgamation of different religions, cultures or schools of thought. Dave Scotland and Peter Koppes first met in a different time as musical partner guitarists in a Glam Rock band called Baby Grande. Achieving some notoriety and success, the band ran its fiery course but ultimately fell apart. Peter soon after became one of the founding members of The Church which has become one of the enduring Australian acts able to achieve world wide success. Meanwhile, Dave kept away from the spotlight after an unproductive solo recording career with Wizard Records, at the time a part of EMI. But he kept songwriting and recording because the flame wouldn't go out. Recently, an opportunity arose for Peter and Dave to revive their musical co-writing and performing friendship. The music flowed from this and suddenly a first album was born with all instruments played by Peter and Dave. Peter wrote wonderful story-telling lyrics that allowed Dave to record vocals on the songs. The resulting record is very much a collaborative effort. This is and we are Syncretism.

Search Add 6 Serial Vice Serial Vice are an Heavy Metal band based in Southern Italy. The idea to found a band was born in 2011 from Alessandro Scorrano (drums) and Andrea Donaera (guitar). After some line-up changes, in 2013 another guitarist, Matteo Cirfeda, joins the project, and in the same year the band recorded the first single "Heroin". In the middle of 2014 bassist Stefano Bianchini and singer Giacomo Albanese joins Serial Vice: with this line-up, the band consolidates in live performances and profiling his sound into a Heavy Metal between classic and modern, gritty and melodic, with various and extensive influences - from Hard Rock to Thrash, from Doom to Power. Between January and February 2015 the band recorded his first EP "Nightmares Come True", with release finally scheduled for 2017 for Sliptrick Records label, and supported by the single "You Are Heroin" (new version of the song "Heroin"), a self-produced three songs demo and by an official video (Master of No-Life). In 2021, four years after the release of the band's highly acclaimed first work, the group releases the new single "The Edge of Fragility", which marks the end of the course started with the first album and the beginning of a new stylistic phase for the band.

The first release on this label is an EP made by NOIRDEGOUT themselves and called FIRST ASSAULT EP . Great surprise, this records was RECORDS OF THE MONTH" on French music magazine "TRAX"! (and remixed by famous French producer SCAN X), but was also NUMBER ONE ON DAVE CLARKE'S PLAYLIST , played by Laurent Garnier, Fabrice Lig, Vince Watson, Paul Nazca... !!! The SECOND SHOT EP is also a success, and, as the "first assault", this record is NUMBER 1 ON DAVE CLARKE'S PLAYLIST with the track "Consumed" but also number 7 in this chart with the track "Sharks Bay" !!! The THIRD WAY EP was a melodic and emotional EP, deeper than their first releases. The NOIRDEGOUT releases, Live-act , and DJ set were a mix of many influences like Detroit techno (Kenny Larkin, Underground Resistance, Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson & Derrick May), Electro (Anthony Rother, Arpanet ), German techno (Heiko Laux, Johaneis Heil, Beroshima) ,and of course the French techno sounds of Laurent Garnier , Vitalic, The hacker and many mores!!! After some other releases were published on Initial cut & White noise records (Dave Clarke's label) The duo no longer exists now.

Search Add 6 The Pernell Reichert Band Vancouver, British Columbia From Vancouver, BC Canada, Pernell Reichert is a singer, songwriter, fast finger-pickin', slide-playin', foot-stompin', razor-sharp entertainer. Whether playing a slow self-penned soulful ballad or rockin' with his toe tappin' 3-piece band, you won't be disappointed in his sound. Pernell has been well received at festivals, pubs, clubs, bars, cafes and coffee houses throughout Western Canada. The band features Pernell on guitar (acoustic & electric), banjo, harmonica and vocals, Ross Christopher Fairbairn on bass and backup vocals and Tom Tischer on drums and backup vocals. Their music is acoustic based roots rock, fast folk, alt-country or cow punk. tarting in the late 90’s Pernell & his guitar lived the life of an itinerant roamer: Tree planting in the mountains of BC, farming on kibbutz’s in the Middle East & Great Britain, working oil rigs in the Canadian oil patch – Pernell perfected his guitar playing style and began to pen the songs that would become his narrative. Performing as a solo artist throughout those early years on the stage of a pub in Bristol, England – or at an open mic on The Drive in Vancouver, BC Pernell developed his unique panache – a style of guitar playing described as high energy with fast finger-picking numbers that keep the audience captivated. In 2004 Pernell founded his first band known as Pernell Reichert and the Hard Drinkers. With a lot of serious hard work that year, the band developed a tight set with an upbeat tempo & a full thick sound. In 2005, with Pernell’s solo album in hand, the band set out on their first month-long debut tour of western Canada. Most of 2006 was spent in the studio preparing their first CD as a band, interspersed with venues that enabled them to refine their performance as a group. In 2007 they embarked on several five-day tours, breaking into the western Canada touring circuit. In 2008 Pernell Reichert and the Hard Drinkers released their self-titled album followed by a 39 day tour of western Canada that took the boys from Vancouver to Winnipeg and back. June to July Pernell toured solo from BC to southern Ontario. The band joined in for August and September. That fall Pernell Reichert and the Hard Drinkers went international with a 10-shows-in-10-days tour of South Africa which produced a live recording later included on their 2011 EP. In 2011 they became The Pernell Reichert Band and released their second CD: “Highway of Tears.” More touring followed with highlights including the 2012 Edge of the world Music Festival in Haida Gwaii, BC; 2013 Wells Festival of all Things Art in Wells, BC; 2013 Rock Creek Fall Fair in Rock Creek, BC (sharing the stage with Fred Penner); the 2014 Rock Creek Fall Fair (sharing the stage with Charlotte Diamond); the 2015 Cowboy Festival in Nordegg, Alberta (sharing the stage with Marty Haggard). 2016 saw the release of their third effort entitled “The Road (You Ain't the One)”.

Search Add 6 Joschi Jonathan Ball Gottfried Ball Joschi Jonathan Ball (born Gottfried Ball in 1942 in Königsberg, now Kaliningrad) was a German songwriter, educator, and theologian. Raised in a large, musically inclined family, he discovered his singing voice early and learned to play guitar and violin during his school years at a church-run boarding school focused on music. He studied education, theology, and religious studies in Tübingen and Reutlingen. While working as a primary school teacher in northern Germany, Ball began composing songs, often in collaboration with the Evangelische Akademie and the Religious Education Institute in Loccum. From 1976 to 1980, he released several children's albums including "Ach wär’ ich doch ein kleines Karussell", "Komm, wir klettern auf den Regenbogen", and "Gib nicht auf, Gänsefüßchen". These works combined playful and poetic language with deeper themes such as life, death, nature, peace, and resilience—a recurring motif in his music. In 1985, he released "Lobet den Herrn", a collection of spiritual songs based on Old Testament texts, featuring choral and instrumental arrangements. This marked the beginning of his integrated approach of publishing accompanying songbooks with lyrics, sheet music, and ideas for meditation, movement, and group participation. Subsequent works include settings of poems by [a=Christian Morgenstern] ("Lirum larum Löffelstiel", 1986), songs inspired by the New Testament ("So ist das mit dem Himmelreich", 1988), and "Alles hat seine Zeit..." (1990). He also composed numerous unpublished songs, including adaptations of poems by [a=Michael Ende]. Due to early-onset dementia, Joschi Jonathan Ball had to end his musical and professional activities in 2001. He passed away on July 20, 2011.
