Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?

(Skinny) Lopez Coming straight from the East Los Angeles hip-hop underground are the Brown Town Looters. The Brown Town Looters have been around for many years. The group was formed back in 1989, when the group was originally named Brown Town. The original members were Critic-T (Boyle Heights), D.J. Clear, and Shotgun (both of Montebello). In 1990, a street-smart homie known as Skinny (East Los) joined the group. In 1992, Brown Town released their first single entitled "Dope House in the Ghetto" on Explicit Records. That summer, Brown Town was performing at various clubs and car shows. That group was getting ready to release their album, since reviews of their shows were very positive. In 1993, their manager, who was also managing "Proper Dos," mismanaged Brown Town. The group decided not to retain him as their manager after backlash was felt from his management tactics. Also in 1993, Shotgun left the group, branching out on his own solo endeavors. In 1994, the group picked up a new rapper, Cash Phlow of South Central Los Angeles. 1994 also brought with it a new name, Brown Town Looters. With this new-year and new name, Brown Town Looters were coming into their own. Also in '94 they released a two-song promotional Compact Disc. The group also began to make appearance at lowrider car shows and concerts. At about the same time, the group started working on another album and were in the process of negotiating to sign with a record label. In 1995, the group met with Future Entertainment, after which, the Brown Town Looters' ads were seen in various magazines such as High Times, The Source, etc. With this new-found exposure, the group, along with Jose Lopez (Skinny's brother) of Looters Management, and Future Entertainment created Hemp Town Records. HempTown Records was created to manufacture cassette tapes and Compact Discs of Brown Town Looter's unreleased album, "Koncrete Phunk." All they needed was a distribution system for their album. Unfortunately, due to Future Entertainment's mismanagement, this never happened. After this fiasco, Citric-T and Cash Phlow joined together with D.J. Ray of "Cruising with La Raza," a cable show on Buenavision Cable in East Los Angeles. D.J. Ray asked Citric-T and Cash Phlow to host the show in East L.A. while he hosted the show in Arizona. This arrangement allowed the Brown Town Looters to gain greater exposure. At about the same time, the group met other hip-hop groups and formed a hip-hop family which as known as "Brown Town Looters Click." The "Click" consisted of Brown Town Looters, featuring Mr. Juvenile, 2-Phattal, Explicit, and Lil' Indian. In 1996, Citric-T and Cash Phlow left the cable show and began their own cable show called "Undaground Flava." The show consisted of rap/hip-hop videos and interviews with guest from the hip-hop Industry such as Cypress Hill, W.C., Doveshack, Mellow Man Ace, and Delinquent Habits. Looter's Management was also booking shows left and right. Brown Town Looters were performing with music artists such as Cypress Hill, Ice-T, Coolio, Zapp, Rodney O and Joe Cooley, Kid Frost, and Mack 10. In August of 1996, the Brown Town Looters, featuring Mr. Juvenile, were featured in the "Definition of Brown" compilation, a product of Latino owned Green Side Records. In 1997, Looters' Management made a deal with John Lozoya (one of the original creators of Lowrider Magazine) of Super Event Entertainment for a Mid-West tour, taking Brown Town Looters to Texas, Arizona and New Mexico, promoting their new album, "Live and Learn." This new tour brought new friendships for Brown Town Looters. One such friendship with Street Smart Clothing, a company associated with Top Nation Clothing. This alliance brought Brown Town Looters a new line of Brown Town Looters clothing (gear). This association also led to a Japan Super Car Show as the headliners. In January 1998, "Definitions of Brown, Part Two" was released and again Brown Town Looters were included. BTL released their "Live and Learn" album on September 18, 1998. | |

His passion for music started when he was very young, It all begun when he was doing grade 9 in 2011 when he joined a Jabulile Secondary School Choir where he was singing in the alto and tenor section. In 2012 Sibonelo moved from Johannesburg to KwaZulu Natal to live with his grandmother at a small township called Lamontville in Durban, KwaZulu Natal. There he found his calling and passion for music. In 2013 Sibonelo started grade 10 at Lamontville High School and matriculated in 2015. In the year 2014 Mkhize was appointed as the new Djembefola at Lamontville Methodist Church. In 2015 Iron Soul's music production journey begun, through the inspiration he found growing up. "I grew up in the era of House music and oldskool Rnb, I think that's where i found my musical inspiration" he says. "I grew up listening to DJ Fresh, Black coffee, Culoe De Song and Dj Euphonik/Themba in House music, in oldskool Rnb i grew up listening to R Kelly, Usher, Boyz2Men, Babyface and others" he counts "Their music really inspired me, to put it in simple words i think their music was like small pieces that where collected together, combined and glued to create the Iron Soul you see and hear his music today" he says. Iron Soul describes his sound as the combination of house music and Rnb. Despite the differences in these two type of genres, Iron Soul SA says he often borrows few sounds and samples from these two types of genres. In 2016 after Iron Soul SA matriculated from Lamontville High School he began producing gqom, Hip-Hop and Trap beats for local artists. Iron Soul SA also established his own record label Afrosphere Records, released a number of singles. He has worked with a number of young local artists like Fashion Weeknd, Jordan Junior, Black link, Ashely H, Dandrae, Jaysoule, DJ Munyu and Londy. Iron Soul SA released many instrumental tracks, from "Let's Go Deep (Original mix)" in 2016 ,"Echoes Of The Valley (Original Mix)" in 2017, "Tears Of joy (feat Jaysoule)" in 2017, "War (featuring Jaysoule)" in 2017, "Afro War (Original Mix)" in 2017, "The Codes Of The Universe (Original Mix)" in 2019, "Temptation (Original Mix)" in 2021 to his single titled "Apocalypse (Original Mix)" in December 2021. Her parents were refugees from the village of Baindir in the Smyrna (Izmir) area. Her mother came to Greece in 1922, whilst her father, who was a prisoner of war, arrived slightly later during the exchange of populations2. During her childhood years she lived the harsh life of a refugee, but was also surrounded with the humane solidarity of the refugee communities. That is where she acquired her deep connection with popular culture and her aptitude to participate. It was in these surroundings that she also came into contact with music for the first time and where she acquired her love for folk music. At the age of thirteen, whilst attending night school, Domna Samiou also began to receive her first formal musical training from Simon Karas at the Association for the Dissemination of National Music, where she was tutored in Byzantine and Folk music, as well as being introduced to the idea of field research in music. Her first professional collaboration with the National Radio Foundation (E.I.R.)3 started when she was a member of the Simon Karas choir. In 1954 she became a full time employee of the station, working in the ‘National Music Section’4. Through her work there, she came in contact with the leading traditional musicians of the day, who were part of the greater migration wave at the time from the countryside to Athens. The National Music Section was busy recording such musicians and as a result, she became acquainted with all the various local musical styles. At the same time she was conducting the musical supervision for records, theatrical programs and films. In 1963 she started touring the countryside independently, to record music for the archive she was establishing, using her own means and equipment. In 1971 Domna Samiou left her radio job and importantly, later in the year, accepted an invitation by the composer and performer Dionysis Savvopoulos to start performing at a club called Rodeo, (see The first concerts) frequented by a youthful anti-junta5 audience. This marked the beginning of Domna Samiou's impact on the appreciation of folk music by the younger generations in Greece. Soon after she performed at the English Bach Festival in London, which was being run by Lila Lalandi at the time. It was a triumphant start to a brilliant musical career. 'It made people overcome the embarrassment they felt for folk music' as she herself stated later. | |

The group recorded two albums (“This World” and “About Face”) for Capitol Records before disbanding in 1983. Scott formed a techno-pop group called GROWING UP DIFFERENT with two former FACE DANCER band mates, that toured the East Coast in the mid-1980s and released an EP of original songs called “A+B=C”. In 1986, Scott moved to Los Angeles where he formed a group called THE SLEEPWALKERS. He returned to the East Coast and in 1990 and continued to participate in annual FACE DANCER reunion concerts until the death of their lead singer Carey Kress in 2009. Their early work was infused with minimalist elements, exploring the realms of trip hop, dance, electronica, house music, vaporwave, and glitch. In 2016, ASHMUS embraced the vaporwave aesthetic (as Ａ Ｓ Ｈ Ｍ Ｕ Ｓ), creating sample-heavy productions that utilized turntablism, eschewing DAWs in favor of collaging diverse samples. By 2019, they had begun employing this approach to produce more danceable electronic music, albeit with a minimalist flair and a self-coined genre called "Vapordisco." This involved using virtual turntables to seamlessly blend eight tracks simultaneously. After a couple of performances Ásmundur left to focus on his studies in visual arts. Vindva Mei kept going as a duo, throwing itself in different directions. With the 2 member´s different preferences, Péturs more rhythmical, melodic structures and Rúnar´s more abstract soundscapes people could never know what to expect. After Rúnar moved to Denmark in late ´96 Vindva mei slowed down. Working when the members met in Iceland or Denmark resulted in 3 albums but fewer and fewer live performances. In the last couple of years Vindva Mei has recorded new material and has decided to perform again after years of absence from the stage. First performance was in august 2010 where Vindva Mei played a short set of new material for an enthusiastic audience in Reykjavík. |

Her father settled in northern Saskatchewan. She's the oldest of three children and the only one that had musical talent, which she says was inherited from her grandfather on her mother's side. He played fiddle, piano, and clarinet. At a young age, she would accompany her grandfather on guitar and sing as well. While living in northern British Columbia in the 1960s, she formed her own band. Because gigs were few and far between in the remote area, a person suggested she move to Vancouver, B.C., to increase her opportunities in the country music industry. A lack of outlets for her music, along with little money, stalled her career. An opportunity came up to tour the United States with an all-girl group, which she played piano and sang on some songs. That tour made her realize music was what she wanted to do with her life, and she moved across the border to Blaine, Washington by the late '60s. When she was not touring, her husband would play drums at local shows in the Pacific Northwest. When she was on the road, he would stay home and take care of their two boys and two girls. Her children were also singers and musicians. | |

He was from the Stoke area of Coventry and went to Briton Road Stoke Secondary Modern School, where he played rugby and football and excelled in English. His singing career began when visiting The Stoke Ex Club and he realised that’s what he wanted to do. He ended up singing in the club after winning an audition, earning £3 entertaining on Saturday and Sunday nights. He was eventually spotted at a singing competition in London by artist manager Lena Davies who, along with her husband David Taylor, took Nicky onto their books, with Lena becoming his manager. Nicky was earning an enviable £40 a week in those days, not bad for a 16-year-old in 1962. Indeed, he was often seen driving around in his 1959 Ford Consul, driven by his brother (and Road Manager) Peter Ensor. Your Nose is Gonna Grow was a song that has a great verse, but a chorus that could have done with a little bit of work. Having said that, Emile Ford, Johnny Crawford and Christine Quaite, all had versions of the song on release, though none of them charted. That didn't stop Parlophone releasing a second single by Nicky Hilton ‘I'm Gonna Lock My Heart Away and Throw Away The Key’, though that too failed to make any impact on the charts. It’s testament to Nicky’s talent when another major label Decca Records, signed him and released in 1965 what would be his last ever single ‘Give Us Your Blessing’. Needless to say this too failed to chart. Nicky had an all time wish to play at the Coventry Theatre , whether he ever achieved it I have no idea. |

D'acosta, the black Jack y Velásquez "El Trío Lucumí" and Linda Izquierdo, who performed singing boleros with great success. On Radio Atalaya, "Los Embajadores Criollos" triumphed with David Odría, a great revelation of the microphone and that, due to the popularity achieved in a short time, were the "jale" of Radio Victoria, "The Station of the Best Programs". A brilliant management by José Eduardo Cavero Andrade and who won "Los Ídolos del Pueblo" forever. Another station was emerging at that time. Radio "La Crónica". On large projects, directed by Juán Silva Villacorta and who set his expectations on David Odría. A special offer led to its acceptance and left the "Creole Ambassadors" without a midday entertainer. Then the opportunity would come for José Lázaro Tello, who, with everything he learned on Radio Miraflores and later on Radio Callao, is hired by Radio Victoria, positions himself and becomes the owner of such a privileged place. It would begin there, the long career of this great Creole speaker from Chiclayo. |
