Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 24/10/2024
Found 596840 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

Search | Add | 4 | Tjuva | Sweden EDM act, formed by Emmy Altemyr and Jasmina Mujcinovic. Meet the newest female duo that’s turning heads in dance music: Tjuva. Although freshly established on Facebook and Soundcloud, these girls have been working hard together since Tjuva’s inception nearly two years ago. Both members, Emmy Altemyr and Jasmina Mujcinovic, were on the solo DJ career path when they first met. Attending a production course in Ibiza back in 2012, Emmy and Jasmina connected instantly after meeting; and soon the girls decided to join forces and fulfill their dreams of producing their own dance music. Now back in Sweden, the collective work of Tjuva is alive and the duo is ready to release their first original track, entitled Euphony, on October 8th. Check out the preview video to Euphony below! On top of putting in the major studio time, these two are keeping their momentum alive by playing gigs all over Sweden including the upcoming Life In Color in Umea. The lineup holds a spot for Tjuva alongside big names including Adrian Lux, Sebjak, Rebecca & Fiona and more. Their debut track Euphony is set to release on Link Music, a branch of Sony, setting these girls up for success – so long as they stay true to their vision and continue to develop their unique style. Keep your eyes on these two; with the rarity and increasing demand of solid females behind the decks, Tjuva could potentially be the next female mainstay in electronic dance music. Search | Add | 4 | TRANCITIV | TRANCITIV was founded in 1995 by Mike (vocals & keyboards) and Uschi (vocals & guitar) with the aim to combine Viennese dialect and Viennese attitude to life with groovy reggae vibes. The band released their first album "Es is Zeit" in 2009. This was followed by "TRANCITIV" (2012) and "Roots" (2014). The name TRANCITIV is meant to indicate both a potential achievement of a trance-like state through music and the fundamentally positive vibes the band spreads through their music. The profound and partly socially critical lyrics, which are written by Mike, let the need for more "togetherness" in love and respect be felt. Trancitive music should give people hope, but at the same time give them joy and above all motivate them to dance!

Search | Add | 4 | Art No Art | Art No Art Started out as a writers forum for a group of jazz musicians. They would meet after hours in the old Aurora Music building in the city of Shoreline, WA. They eventually moved to a basement studio and then to a room at Kellogg Middle School, and sometimes at Shorecrest High School. After they accumulated enough material, they voted on songs and proceeded to record at Basic Tracks Studio. This was a home studio in Warren Newton's duplex. They pooled together all their then brand new digital gear (1989) and set up the studio. The tape recorder was a Tascam 40-4 1/2 inch 8 track. Two computers were used to store the midi tracks: an Atari ST1040 and an Apple Mac Plus. This was mixed it down on what was then state-of-the-art Alesis 1622 mixer onto a Toshiba DX900 VCR (Which had two digital tracks via "PCM Capability"). The band endured floods, power surges, and a street demolition crew during the session that resulted in "No Doubt About It" (1990). For further information, contact "Art No Art" at {obs} 328 N.E. Serpentine Pl. Seattle, WA. 98155.

Search | Add | 4 | Yvan Acosta | Edison Yvan Acosta | Yvan Acosta is a Dominican musician and producer who, alongside his brother Raul Acosta “El Presidente”, formed the internationally acclaimed merengue band Oro Sólido. Born in Barahona, Dominican Republic on July 30, 1965, Yvan was born into a musical family. His father Rafael “Santo” Acosta was a percussionist. And he and his younger brothers Rafael and Raul started a pre-adolescent music group called "Los Sobrinos Del Rey" a Dominican version of the Jackson 5. With this early experience, Yvan was able to further develop his innate musical talent as well as his stage presence. The group went on to perform in two nationally televised shows on the government TV station, channel four, for a show called "Amarillis con los Niños.” As a teen, the family relocated to the United States. With no English skills, Yvan moved to Union City, New Jersey to start his new life. During his high school days at Emerson High School, Yvan began performing güira with local bands, such as “Los Quisqueyanos”, “Kennedy y sus Generales”, merengue singer Fauto Rey and “Willy y El Grupo”. He later begain his studies in music and bass guitar by joining Kennedy's Music World, a local music studio, school, and store, where he met a teacher named Kennedy Cortina. Throughout his 30-year career, Yvan has recorded and performed with Oro Solido. His bass is the original sound that made the group famous, and he is considered a trailblazer for implementing this style of merengue on the bass when the group was founded in 1994. He continues to perform with the group internationally and is well respected in the Latin music industry. |

Search | Add | 4 | Wilson Danilo | Wilson Danilo Medeiros de Jesus | Wilson Danilo Medeiros de Jesus, or simply Wilson Danilo, Born in Salvador, Bahia, died in 2013, on the eve of his 100th birthday, he was a radio / announcer, presenter, singer and composer. Owner of an extensive and accurate vocabulary, besides the powerful voice, he began his career in 1942, in Rio de Janeiro, as speaker of the speaker system known at the time as "bell mouth". At this same period he recorded his first work as a singer. A 78 rpm disc with the songs "A Canção de Friburgo (The Song of Friburgo)", of Antônio Caetano, and "Palhaço da Vida (Life's Clown) ", of César Cruz. Since then, he recorded several discs, among 78 rotations, singles, double singles and CDs. Danilo played tangos, boleros and MPB classics with impressive mastery. He alone gave the impression that there was an orchestra on the stage. In 1957, the illustrious character moved to Governador Valadares, in the eastern part of Minas Gerais, where he worked on "Mundo Melhor", "Educadora" and "Ibituruna" (the only three AM stations in the city at the time). In these radio stations, nowadays practically dead, Danilo did everything: he was a helper, a janitor, a sound engineer, an advertising salesman, a presenter and a director. In his popular program, he had one of the largest audiences ever in the region. He began the presentation of the hour with phrases and verses of his own. Something like: "Beautiful girl / from my city / my love for you / I want your happiness / my love / my good will ...". In the early sixties he recorded in a compact of 78 rotations the Afro drum "Só o ôme", written by the Bahia composer Edenal Rodrigues, also played by Noriel Vilella, from the legendary group Nilo Amaro & the Ebony Singers. |

Search | Add | 4 | Guarneri Del Gesu | Bartolomeo Giuseppe Guarneri | Bartolomeo Giuseppe "del Gesù" Guarneri (21 August 1698, Cremona — 17 October 1744, Cremona), or Joseph Guarnerius del Gesu, was a renowned Italian luthier, arguably one of the greatest makers of violins in history alongside Nicolò Amati (1596—1684) and [a=Antonio Stradivari] (1644—1737). Due to the scarcity and outstanding tonal characteristics of Del Gesu violins, they are among the most expensive and sought-after today. His 1741 'ex-Vieuxtemps' violin holds the world record for any musical instrument, sold in 2012–13 for over £10.5 mln ($16.4 mln). Giuseppe originated from a distinguished dynasty of luthiers, grandson of [a=Andrea Guarneri] (1626—1698) and son of Giuseppe Filius Andreæ (1666—ca. 1740). He apprenticed at the family's workshop with his elder brother, [a9044320] (1695—1762). Guarneri's earliest extant violins, dated circa 1715–22, "mimicked" the Stradivari pattern with slight modifications — a bold and controversial choice in his family's historical context. (Casa Guarneri suffered a catastrophic decline since [a=Antonio Stradivari] opened his Cremonese workshop around 1680. Even though Giuseppe's grandfather, Andrea Guarneri, also studied at [a=Nicolo Amati]'s bench, he adhered to the "Grand Amati" canon almost religiously and wouldn't dare to change anything — unlike Stradivari, who favored a trial-and-error method and gradually evolved his instruments to unprecedented levels of precision and finesse.) In pursuit of more creative freedom, both brothers subsequently left Casa Guarneri. Pietro followed the path of their uncle, Pietro 'di Mantova', and relocated to Venice around 1717. Giuseppe, however, stayed in Cremona and opened his independent workshop circa 1726, competing against "casa familia" on the home turf for at least another decade — an even more audacious and brazen move in the conservative world of Italian luthiers. (According to most sources, they remained close as caring relatives; for instance, Giuseppe moved back to failing Casa Guarneri circa 1731 as his father's health deteriorated). The nickname del Gesù, both for Guarneri and his violins, originated from il bollo del Gesù addendum ("the Jesus stamp") adopted in the mid-1720s by Cremonese scribes to easier discern between father and son's nearly identical Latin signatures. The "Jesus stamp" refers to the luthier's distinct label, which has a cross of Jerusalem and IHS abbreviation for "Iesus Hominem Salvator," or "Jesus the Savior" in Greek: Jo∫eph Guarnerius fecit Cremonȩ anno 17## ☩IHS. Del Gesu's open-minded and experimental approach grew more drastic and riotous throughout his career. Violins dated between 1737 and 1742 moved past the Stradivari's pattern and have a distinct outline with a flatter back and table, likely inspired by Brescian luthiers Da Salò and [a5568459]. He blatantly disregarded visual aesthetics and craftsmanship to achieve warmer, more vibrant sound (in stark contrast to most Cremonese luthiers, obsessed over flawless woodgrains and purfling techniques). Some of the latest del Gesùs would even have asymmetric F-holes, carved intuitively per the specific deck's vibration points. Over his relatively short career, Guarneri produced around 200 violins, two small violins (the 1740 'Fountaine' and 1735 'Chardon' violino piccolo), and the 1731 'Messeas' cello (with erroneous Giuseppe Filius Andreæ's label). Del Gesu died at 46 and had no children. Unlike Stradivari, who was revered and distinguished in his lifetime, Guarneri only gained deserved recognition posthumously. His violins have notably darker, "robust" and sonorous midrange, particularly 315 Hz—1.25 kHz (where Strads are typically most dispensable, thriving in 200–250 Hz band or above 1.6 kHz). The earliest admirer of del Gesùs magnificent sound was an Italian virtuoso [a=Gaetano Pugnani] (1731—1798), who praised the instruments in the mid-1750s (almost three decades before Pugnani's former student, [a1265314] (1755—1824), began campaigning for Stradivarius.) The great [a206281] (1782—1840) cherished his 1743 'il Cannone' as the most valuable violin, solidifying Guarneri's contemporary fame. Notable 'del Gesù' players ☞ [a=Ole Bull], played the "last" 1744 del Gesu ☞ [a=Jascha Heifetz], praised his c.1740 violin as superior to several Strads ☞ [a=Yehudi Menuhin], played the 1742 'Lord Wilton' and 1741 ex-Vieuxtemps, which he favored over the 1714 'Soil' Stradivarius ☞ [a=Anne Akiko Meyers], life-long loan of 1741 'Vieuxtemps' from the current anonymous owner ☞ [a=Midori Goto], plays 1731 'ex-Huberman' ☞ [a=Rachel Barton Pine], plays the 1742 'ex-Bazzini, ex-Soldat' since 2002, on a lifetime loan by the anonymous owner ☞ [a=Joseph Joachim], [a1147368], [a=Maud Powell], [a871323], [a=Zvi Zeitlin], [a=Leonid Kogan], [a=Isaac Stern], [a=Pinchas Zukerman], [a=Itzhak Perlman], [a=Henryk Szeryng], [a=Eugene Fodor], [a=Nigel Kennedy], [a=Henning Kraggerud], [a=Gidon Kremer], [a=Arve Tellefsen], [a=Salvatore Accardo], [a=Augustin Hadelich], [a2029521], [a=Arthur Grumiaux], [a1199356], [a=Michael Rabin], [a=Joseph Silverstein], [a=Robert McDuffie], [a=Rachel Barton Pine], [a=Sarah Chang], [a=Leila Josefowicz], [a4060029] (1716 violin), [a7052498], [a=Elmar Oliveira], [a=Ruth Palmer], [a=Charlie Siem], [a=Richard Tognetti], [a=Uto Ughi], [a361074], [a5155105] |
