Report created based on data in MusicBrainz as of 10/01/2024
Found 593861 artists, we show 1000 artists per page.
The report is not continually updated so may not reflect the current data within MusicBrainz and or Discogs databases.
These are Discogs artists not currently linked to a MusicBrainz artist, and we have been unable to find a potential link for either.
Many of these artists probably are in MusicBrainz in some form but they are not currently linked, the list is ordered so that Discogs artists with the most number of single artists releases are listed first on the basis that these artists would be of more interest.
Some problems will just be due to deficiencies in the Discogs to Musicbrainz artist matching algorithm employed by Albunack.
There are also timing issues as this report is not updated immediately so will not reflect recent modifications and additions to MusicBrainz and Discogs.
One issue in Discogs is they handle artist credits differently so a Discogs name consisting of multiple people is probably represented on MusicBrainz as two individuals, but we try to filter these out of this report
We have also omitted artists that are not unique in both MusicBrainz and Discogs because these artists are probably not missing just more difficult to match up.
Another issue is that some Discogs artists have multiple ids with one id just redirecting to the other, this is the case with Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, do we add both links to MusicBrainz ?
Limited report to artists with at least two single artist releases for now.

El resultado de todo ello es una propuesta única, original y fresca, pero con una cierta profundidad, que consigue despuntar como una alternativa ideal dentro del panorama de la música en catalán.

Search | Add | 4 | The Past Travellers | Tom, (lead vocal, keys, machines) and Pierre, (guitars & backing vocals) are both born in the 90’s but the power of their imagination led them musically another way. Those 2 young men are actually born in the 60’s and take a walk with their youth in a retro-futuristic decade, a sort of temporal hole, somewhere between the 70’s and the 80’s. They were volunteers for a trip in a time machine, this duet now finds itself propelled into 2016. Equipped only with their instruments and their knowledge, The Past Travellers are here to regale our ears with revisited timeless pearls of disco-funk . They are heart brothers with Chic, Imagination, Michael Jackson, George Duke, Giorgio Moroder, Earth Wind & Fire. They also have an infinite connection with Daft Punk, Todd Terje and Mark Ronson… Great music, I’m sure you’ll agree, in such a family.

Search | Add | 4 | Fabulous Studio Band | In 1953 Musical Director Frank "Buck" Shaffer moved to Porterville, CA and formed The Fabulous Studio Band of about 20 students from both the Porterville High School and the Porterville Community College. The second studio band of its kind in California, FSB went on to play around the world in many famous venues throughout decades. Their third album "Have Band Will Travel" released in 1963(?) is a compilation from the bands songs after being sent on tour to play for GIs in Japan, Okinawa, Korea, and Hawaii. According to buckshaffer.com, "the tour lasted six weeks and the Band appeared on Nippon TV and did a Far East network radio show that followed President Kennedy and his famous address on the Berlin Situation." The fourth album from the FSB, released in 1972(?) "Celebrates 20 Years in the 20th Century" is their last and final album under the direction of Shaffer. Some of these are believed to be recorded/pressed in Santa Maria, CA(?). In 1996 and 2000 two CDs were independently released by the FSB under the direction of Jim Kusserow, "Still Swingin' After All These Years (96)," and "Plays Capitol Jazz (00)." Today the Fabulous Studio Band continues under the direction of Clark Keele.

Search | Add | 4 | Pernambuco Do Pandeiro | Inácio Pinheiro Sobrinho | He was born in Gravatá de Bezerro (PE) on July 30, 1924. Before completing a year, he moved with his family to Lagoa de Roça (PB), where he lived until his early adolescence. From there, he went by ship, with his mother and two brothers, to Rio de Janeiro. It was in the capital of Rio de Janeiro that he began his career as a musician at the age of 15, after being approved, first, in the program of freshmen "A hora do Pato", on the Radio Mayrink Veiga. In 1940 he started his artistic career performing at Rádio Clube Fluminense in Niterói and on the night clubs Dancing Brasil and Farolito. Shortly afterwards he joined the regional of César Farias, the father of Paulinho da Viola, who acted exclusively on Radio Ipanema. Then he started working at Rádio Tupi where he played with Pixinguinha and Benedito Lacerda. In the 1950s he created his own ensemble in which he released Hermeto Pascoal, with whom he recorded records and toured Europe. In 1954 he recorded with his ensemble the tango "Mano a Mano", by Gardel, Razzano and Flores, in rhythm of baião and the march "Arraial de Santo Antônio", by Frederico Freitas e Dantas. In the same year he recorded with his regional, still in the Odeon, "Carnavalito", of Edmundo P. Zaldivar and "Neurastênico", of Betinho and Nazareno de Brito, both in rhythm of baião. The following year he recorded with Cardosinho the choro "Juriti" by Raul Silva and the baião "Sentimento" by Antônio Cardoso and his authorship. In the same year he recorded the baião "I brinco" by Pedro Caetano and Claudionor Cruz and the choro "É o maior" by Guio de Morais and Roberto Barroso. In 1956 he recorded with his regional "Segue o teu camino", by Mario Zan and Arlindo Pinto, in a bolero rhythm and the baião "Delirando", of his own and Luiz Gaúcho. In 1957 he recorded with his regional the baião "É Pernambuco", of Rielinho and Mário Vieira. At that time he made accompaniments in Polydor of recordings by Carmen Déa, Carlos Augusto, Odete Amaral, Dilermano Pinheiro and Araci de Almeida, among others. In 1958 he joined with Abel Ferreira, Sivuca, Dimas, Trio Iraquitã and Maestro Guio de Morais, from the caravan Humberto Teixeira of Brazilian artists, who toured several countries promoting Brazilian music. In 1959 he moved to Brasilia where he continued his career. In the Federal Capital he played on radio, television and nightclubs. He also acted in the ensemble that accompanied Waldir Azevedo, with whom he recorded some records. He came to Brasilia in 1959, at the invitation of Juscelino Kubistchek. "I came to be a National Radio musician, but it did not work very well and I was signed up at Novacap, where I retired," he told in the interview for the Correio in January 2010. He died at dawn on July 9, 2011, at Santa Luzia Hospital, due to multiple organ failure. He had been hospitalized since last Saturday, when he arrived at the hospital with a high fever and shortness of breath due to Diabetes worsened by pneumonia. |

Search | Add | 4 | Leagus | Leagus is a contemporary and experimental musical duo from Sápmi, Norway, whose music alternates between formal composed parts, open structures, and free improvisation, and ranges from subdued, minimalistic, psalm-like pieces, to more rock-oriented improvised parts. Consisting of pianist Herborg Rundberg and guitarist Kristian Svalestad Olstad, Leagus was originally formed in 2013 by Herborg, as part of her Masters degree in Rhythmic Music at the Tromsø Conservatory, where Kristian had also received his Masters degree in the same subject two years earlier. Over the years the duo have worked extensively on finding new, and different interactions between the piano and the guitar, which has lead to the development of a new and progressive kind of musical togetherness. It is a sound that is highly dynamic with musical contrasts playing a big part in their concept. In 2021, Leagus were commissioned by the North Norwegian Jazz Ensemble to write a piece for a ten-member orchestra. The result was “Flora Eallin” which was composed and arranged by Herborg and Kristian. This led to a tour with the North Norwegian Jazz Ensemble and long time collaborator and visual designer Torbjørn Thrane Sandnes.

Search | Add | 4 | Debbie Whitten | Debbie Whitten | Debbie Whitten was born in the same maternity home as Japan's David Sylvian in David Bowie's Beckenham stamping ground, and grew up in a household heaving with the sounds of Swing, Frank Sinatra and 1950s rock'n'roll. Debbie cut her teeth as a singer during the 1990s with London combos The Tax Band, Blazing Saddles and Cryin' Shame, performing at many of the capital's top venues, including the Hilton, Marriott and Grosvenor Hotels, the Cafe Royal, the Mermaid Theatre, the City Golf Club and Old Billingsgate premier event space. While she recorded little during this period, in 1995 she did cut three tracks with Derek Tennent's Tax Band at Terminal Studios, sometime haunt of the embryonic Gallagher brothers. In 1999 Debbie was invited to record some demos with producer Steve Hill at his Hampstead studios, but these did not see the light of day immediately. In 2007 South London label Radi Records released her sparkling debut album "Autumn Leaves", once again helmed by Steve Hill and recorded at Oxfordshire's Woodworm Studios, sometime home of Fairport Convention. The set comprised a raft of classic new material along with remastered versions of the three Terminal Studios cuts. A seven-track EP, also entitled "Autumn Leaves", was issued at the same time, followed closely by "Hampstead '99", which gathered the previously unreleased demos from the Hampstead Studios sessions. In 2018 Radi released the EP "6-Track Demo: London 95/98-99" which paired the three Tax Band tracks with three of the Hampstead recordings. The pairing of these two albums and EPs are the perfect showcase for Debbie's vocal mastery of both powerful r&b and sensitive, heart-wrenching ballads. |

Search | Add | 4 | Burnt Fur | Burnt Fur (2003-2010) was an electronic band from Boston, MA comprised of Scott Harrison (vocals, guitar, songwriter, producer), Shana Simpkins (vocals, drum pads), Patrik Tirda (samples and keyboards) and Ian St. Germain (bass, drum pads). The band surfaced in response to the wave of artists revisiting the sounds of '80's new wave, intending to perform as a full band rather than standing by a cluster of electronics that could do most of the work. Each member would perform with a primary instrument, but they were known to swap instruments often depending on what suited their songs. Although heavily influenced by new wave, Harrison and St. Germain had previously been in a band called Tracy Husky that sounded much more like the gauzy, feedback and distortion sound of Sonic Youth than the dance driven sound of New Order. They wanted to blend these ideas together, creating an organic yet sonic sound coupled with bright, precise electronics. Tirda would manipulate sampled sounds from the golden age of arcade games to blend in and out of Harrison's swirling, effect driven guitars. Having four members ensured that there was always someone performing on the stand up drum pad kit, which would further differentiate the band from the majority of electronic acts that did not have live percussion. Gathering together the songs they had created from 2003-2006 the band recorded two singles to release while they continued to perform locally and complete their debut album. "Vitriol," the first single released the summer of 2007, was chosen to contrast heavily against what the band perceived as weak electronic acts in the aftermath of the electroclash scene that had occurred earlier in the decade. The band decided to release cover songs for b-side material, New Order's "Ultraviolence," and The Human League's "Seconds," again for contrast and to show solidarity with the selections. The single received mixed reviews but connected the band with some of the right locals, ones that would understand where they were headed. The band's next single in November of that year was "Radiate," which would have moderate success in Europe and the west coast of the US. Slowly the band built a following in their hometown while completing their debut album during the winter. In spring 2008 their debut Unfurl was released. This gave the band the break they needed with the local and national press via blogs and music websites. The band was featured in Electronic Musician magazine in a piece covering D.I.Y. electronic releases in April that year. Most reviews were impressed with the release, with a few detractors that would clearly prefer their electronic music more polished and with layers of production. Having a full electronic band meant having a lot of equipment to carry in order to perform, and this led to the band performing sporadically in the New England area. While planning to embark on a tour on the east cost of the the US to support the album, Shana Slater announced she would be parting with the band as she was moving to Florida. Quickly they adapted to become a three piece band, but the missing fourth member meant they could no longer play as many instruments in a live setting. After fulfilling any performance dates they had scheduled the search for a new fourth member began. The third single from Unfurl titled "Homage" was released to allow the band time to find a new member without losing the momentum they had work so hard for. It received less press and was less promoted than their previous singles. During the fall of 2008 the search was complete when Jean Kennedy, a friend of the band, joined as a permanent member. She had no experience performing or even playing instruments, but the band felt she fit into the group best out of any potential replacements. While the band began writing material for their sophomore release in 2009, tragedy struck for Kennedy as a family member became seriously ill. It was apparent she would be the caretaker for children during and after the illness, and meant she could no longer perform or work with the band toward their next release. Having to once again adapt to become a three-piece band, the writing was on the wall -- too many changes and set backs were wearing the band down. Soon after Kennedy's departure, live performances ceased other than to book a Halloween show in Boston where they introduced new songs they were working on amongst some covers of their favorite goth songs, including a cover of the Halloween Theme from John Carpenter's Halloween. The band once again spent the winter writing new material. In spring 2010 the band performed a farewell show in Boston, MA, telling the audience they were merely taking a break to finish their next album, leaving the door open for a return. The sporadic performance schedule meant they were reaching fewer ears however; and although the show was well attended it was clearly the end of the line and Burnt Fur disbanded. Harrison moved on to begin a solo project under the name Love Times Infinity and serve as guitarist for Daniel Ouellette and the Shobijin, and the other members dispersed. The band was later briefly featured in the independent documentary "Life on the V: the Story of V66," released in 2014 and shown in several major cities as a selection for independent film festivals that year and in 2015. The film details the rise and fall of the Boston area music video television station V66 during 1985-1986, showcasing local music videos alongside national artists. Burnt Fur participated in the film as the music station was the catalyst to Harrison's interest in performing.
